"Eyewitness" delves into the lives of two innocent teenage boys who bear witness to a triple-homicide while in the midst of a romantic encounter. Desperate to keep their relationship a secret they must keep what they’ve seen hidden from everyone, including Philip’s new foster mother, Helen, a former big-city homicide detective who left her harrowing career to become a small-town sheriff. With a m*rder*r on the loose who is desperate to silence any link to the killings, Helen will stop at nothing to solve the case and bring peace back to Tivoli.

Previously on "Eyewitness"...

I've got three dead bodies... one strand of hair... and no witnesses.

Philip, come on. We got to go. Let's go.

I think the k*ller is still out there.

If there is a k*ller out there, are you gonna be the one to find him?

[intense music]

Tommy borrowed my jacket, the one that I was wearing that night.

What if he thinks that Tommy is me?

Tommy and Tracy are dead.

Though I just find it hard to believe that a kid that driven is gonna do heroin.

Please, Philip, don't tell.

All we need to do is find someone with red-tipped hair.

I love you. Call me.

He is a pedophile.

This is phone you use to call him?

No!

Mr. Milonkovic, are you aware your daughter's been reported missing?

Bella?

[cell phone playing tune]

Is that Bella's phone?

Is that you? You freak.

Find my dr*gs!

I'd like to introduce Special Agent Ryan Kane.

I've had my eye on this operation for a while now.

Hey!

What the hell are you doing?

You stole that girl's clothes!

What the hell? Get off me!

Get back in here!

[on audiotape] Building trust may feel like a battle, but keep at it.

Show your foster child that families stick together.

You want to talk about it?

I want to move.

What's going on, babe?

These kids' parents... they want to meet.

They don't think their kids did heroin.

Do you?

Honestly...

I think it could have been staged, just like the cabin.

[gentle music]

Do you think we should schedule a parent/kid talk with Philip about it?

I was thinking about it, but he's got that class overnight with the counselor.

So let's see how he is when he gets back.

Okay.

I was thinking about taking him out on the water.

Worked for me.

Yep, this is definitely it.

What's it?

Where we're gonna do it.

Tommy and Tracy are dead, and all you can think about is hooking up?

I think about Tommy and Tracy all the time.

Come on, Lukas, just... sit back with me.

Please, baby.

Look up at the trees... the sun filtering down.

What are we doing?

This is the last thing they saw.

Imagine if we d*ed young and beautiful.

It's so romantic.

Now they'll be together forever.

sh*t. Helen.

Why are you here?

This was the last place Bella was seen.

Well, I got to clear all law enforcement before Mithat gets back here, so...

What? No. We need to question him.

No, there's no "we," Helen.

You need to let the FBI deal with this.

What about Bella?

My task force needs Mithat to launch the Vescovi deal so that we can bust him.

Other than that, we don't give a sh*t who's trying to blow him up.

Well, you might want to, you know, give a sh*t.

Oh, yeah? Why is that?

Maybe you should ask your sister.

I found this pacifier in the detonation zone.

Could be anybody's.

I want to meet your boss.

Do you think you could set that up for me?

If that's what's gonna get you to leave.

You gonna give him that?

Nah, I think I'll keep it, remind you why we're friends.

Well, you show that to anybody, I'm gonna out you for perjury.

This was fun.

Oh, yeah, let's do it again sometime.

[mysterious music]

So far, there's no evidence linking this b*mb
back to the Vescovis.

Seems to be some internal dispute.

Hmm.

Look, I want the press off this story, now.

Plant that it was a gas leak.

We have confirmation on casualties yet?

Yes, there were none.

None? No family, nothing?

No.

No.

Mithat was headed into the city when the b*mb went off, but we did pick up some chatter.

He should be back soon for a face-to-face with Angel Vescovi.

Good, 'cause the minute this deal rolls out, we are talking about a shipment of up to 100 kilos a week.

We let them enjoy a dry run, and then we take the whole thing down.

There's just one snag.

There's a local m*rder investigation that could bump up against us.

What, the sh**t in Tivoli a couple days ago?

Yeah.

That was a bunch of low-level Vescovis, all DOA.

Well, there's a chance that someone survived to stage the crime scene and get away.

You made this determination?

It's just a theory.

It's more than that to the local sheriff.

Helen Torrance.

Yeah, she's harmless.

She's on her way here. She wants to meet with you.

Anything else you're forgetting to tell me?

Sheriff Torrance found a strand of hair in the trunk of a car at the crime scene.

The hair belongs to a 15-year-old girl.

Yeah, why is that relevant to us?

Because the girl is Bella Milonkovic.

Mithat's daughter.

Yes, exactly.

[dramatic music]

[suspenseful music]

[birds caw]

You're telling me our entire operation could be compromised because some small-time sheriff has a hunch?

I'm just saying she's building a case.

And her plan is to question the daughter of our primary target.

Well, so far, that's her only plan.

It's not gonna be easy.

Bella's disappeared since the expl*si*n.

So Bella is not with Mithat.

No, it doesn't look like it.

But wherever she is, Helen's determined to track her down.

This sheriff, give me her stats.

She used to be some kind of hotshot homicide detective up in Buffalo.

See, now, you told me she was harmless, Burlingame.

Yeah, 'cause she is.

She's just more tenacious than most.

Let's keep this sheriff boxed in her little town, because if the Vescovis or Mithat see any law enforcement poking around, they are not gonna take any chances.

This deal is dead.

Tell everyone to pack it up.

Where are we headed?

We are now a field operation.

Just closed on a space in Poughkeepsie.

Hey, Ryan.

I got Helen coming at 4:00.

You want me in that meet?

[mysterious music]

What happened?

Damn 18-wheeler again.

You know, those guys aren't even allowed to drive up and down this road.

Did you see them? Get any information?

No.

How come I'm always the one with the cones in this relationship?

Still haven't got mine back from that roller derby yet.

Right.

I'm headed into the city for the day.

I've got a meeting with the head of that FBI task force.

Ryan Kane, right?

Yeah, I tried looking him up.

That guy has zero footprints... nothing.

Well, you know what nothing means, right?

Is that a trick question?

It means he's got top-level security clearance.

Could be Special Forces, ex-CIA.

You can never trace those guys.

Hello?

Yes, this is she.

Thank you.

Was that them?

Make it official and join the FBI op?

I'm your liaison, right?

Mm-hmm.

Okay, so first thing first... what do you notice that's different about my boat from the others?

I don't know. It's made of wood.

That's right. And what does that tell you?

It's old.

It's not plastic.

It's a handmade work of art.

It's also slow as sh*t, which means it takes a real man to row it faster than everybody else.

You made that?

I designed it myself.

I had a vision.

My, uh, first wife just left me, and I was alone... a single man building a boat for two.

What does that tell you?

You couldn't get a girlfriend.

I was just waiting for Helen to come along.

Yeah, we put a down payment last week.

She's on a waiting list.

Why are you guys doing all this?

That's what families do.

So are you ready to pull your first oar?

Yeah, I guess.

Okay, so part of the stroke is in your wrist.

It's called feathering.

You want to twist the oar so it doesn't catch the water.

Helps with wind resistance.

Come on, try it a few times.

You're gonna love being on the water, Philip.

You know we're not out on the water right now, right?

Oh, we will be, soon enough.

I've never been.

Seeing what? What are you talking about?

That guy... I'm standing right behind him, and I'm holding the frying pan, but I can't move.

He sh**t you, and then he turns and looks straight at me.

He's gonna k*ll me.

I can't make it stop.

It's never gonna stop... not unless we tell.

Hey, look. Look at me.

I told you... it's only gonna get worse if you keep it a secret.

It's... it's not gonna just go away.

It doesn't work like that.

How come you're so chill?

I've had to be cool for my mom.

I can be cool for you, too.

There's nothing to say.

Okay.

I can't go to this stupid overnight with counselors, talking about my feelings and...

Yeah, I know. It's... it's so dumb.

So what do you want to do instead?
