CHILDREN: ♪ 'Twas the day of the night ♪
♪ before Christmas ♪

♪ And the town wore ♪
♪ a blanket of snow ♪

♪ Last-minute shoppers, ♪
♪ like magic grasshoppers ♪

♪ Was hurrying to and fro ♪

♪ All the children ♪
♪ were laughing and playing ♪

♪ Building snowmen ♪
♪ in each front yard ♪

♪ Every shop window ♪
♪ was beautifully trimmed so ♪

♪ It looked like ♪
♪ a Christmas card ♪

♪ Oh, the church bells rang ♪

♪ And the carolers sang ♪

♪ And the street-corner ♪
♪ Santa Claus clanged his bell ♪

♪ To be anywhere near it, ♪
♪ to see it or hear it ♪

♪ The yuletide spirit ♪
♪ was here, you could tell ♪

♪ There was pink in the ♪
♪ sky before sunset ♪

♪ Spilling down ♪
♪ on the windowpanes ♪

♪ Quick as a wink, yes, ♪
♪ the town was the pinkest ♪

♪ Of peppermint candy canes ♪

♪ Oh, the church bells rang ♪

♪ And the carolers sang ♪

♪ and bright-colored caps ♪

♪ Snowballs and sleigh rides and skis ♪

♪ Hot cups of cocoa ♪
♪ to hold in your hands ♪
