- Hoobledoop, Tiddlypeeps.

I'm Hubba Hubba, talking

to you from Hoobland,

and I'm about to send

four of my favorite Hoobs

down to Earth to find

out all about you

for my great Hoobapedia.

Here they come.

(magical music)

♪ You know who the Hoobs are. ♪

♪ Iver, Groove, And Tula. ♪

♪ We're Hoobs! ♪

♪ And they're ready to go. ♪

- Wahey!

♪ Now the wheels are turning, ♪

♪ We can all get learning ♪

we want to know ♪

♪ Hubba Hubba's in Hoobland ♪

♪ And Roma's

somewhere far away. ♪

♪ The Motorettes are singing ♪

♪ We keep the

engines spinning. ♪

♪ The Hoobmobile is

coming your way. ♪

- Oh, here we come!

Wahey!

- Ah!

♪ The Hoobs are here,

so what do you say? ♪

- [All] Hoobs!

- That's no good,

that's short fat.

that's long and fat.

Ah, this is perfect. (laughs)

It's long and thin.

There we go, perfect.

(gasps)

(laughs)

And these Hooby pins.

They're long and thin too.

- Groove, have you seen

my jar of Hooby pins?

- Hooby pins?

- Yes, you know,

they're long and thin.

I've just found this material

and I want to make a costume.

- Erm...

No, no, I don't think so, no.

- What's the in there, Groove?

- Oh, just my latest collection.

- What of?

- Odds and ends, nothing really.

- Oh Groove, this bath

chain, it'll be Hoobaceous

for your new collection

of long, thin things.

- Oh yeah, that's

terrific, Iver, thank you.

- So it's a collection of

long thin things, is it?

And Hooby pins

are long and thin.

Groove, give be that box.

- Oh, now Tula.

- Oh no!

They're all my Hooby pins,

and they're all muddled

up with everything.

- Oh, I'm sorry, Tula.

I'll get them back for you.

- No, stop, stop!

Groove, stop.

Hooby pins are not only long

and thin, they're sharp.

- I need them out of the box

so I can work on my collection

- And I need them out of the box

so I can work my costume.

- Well I'm sorry, but

you're can't dive in there

with there with your Hooby paws.

You know why, don't you?

- [Together] It's dangerous.

- Exactly.

You might get pricked, sticking

your paw in, willy nilly,

is not the best way

to pick up Hooby pins

when they're scattered about

among lots of long thin things.

- Oh, you're right Iver.

Since you so sensible,

what is the best way

to pick up Hooby pins?

(echoing Hubba Hubba)

Groove, that's the

question for Hoob News.

- Yeah.

(Tula huffs)

- Oh, Tula, don't be mad at me.

- What is the best way

to pick up Hooby pins?

That's a Hooble-dooble-duper

question.

You don't want to

get pricked, do you?

- Oh no, Hubba Hubba, we don't.

- I'll email a Roma

and see what she can find

out about picking things up.

In the meantime, let's see

what I can find on Hoobnet.

(laughs)

Now here are things that

pick things up, Hoobs.

There are picking up

trucks there, you see,

and cranes, aren't

they Hoobaceous.

Picking up great big heavy

things, and quickly too.

Putting big things down,

and picking big things up.

(Hoobs gasp and mutter)

Oh look, those

are long and thin,

but they're a bit big

aren't they, Groove.

- A bit big, Hubba Hubba.

- We're only seeing very

big things being picked up.

I don't know if any of these

would be any use to

you in Hoobmobile.

(Tula sighs)

- Oh, Groove, no.

You can't sort

your collection out

until we've picked

out all the pins.

- Well I'm sorry, Iver, but we

couldn't use a crane can we?

We'd never fit in

the Hoobmobile.

- No, there has to be

another way of doing it.

- Well, yes, but what?

(operatic anthem music)

- At the moment,

I've no idea what.

(laughing)

- Tickle, tickle.

- Stop it Groove.

- Drop the box, Iver.

- You are not getting into this

box until it's free of pins.

(laughing)

- I'm surprised

that you've got time

for the tickling games, Hoobs.

- It's Groove, Hubba Hubba.

He wants to sort out

his long thin collection

and I won't let him until

we've got all the pins out.

- Then you'll have to hurry.

Why didn't you start

up the Hoobmobile,

and go and see some Tiddlypeeps.

- Hooby-groovy idea, Hubba Hubba

Tula, you go, and

Iver, you drive.

- Ah, yes.

Oh, no you don't.

I'm guarding the box.

It's for your own good, Groove.

Well you don't want

to get pricked.

- (sighs) Come on, Groove,

looks like you're driving.

- Okay.

(gentle music)

- We're off to see

that Tiddlypeeps.

- Yeah.

(tinkling bells)

- Hoobledoop, Tiddlypeep.

- Hoobledoop, Tula.

- I am so glad I found you.

What's your name?

- I'm Tamara.

- Tamara, what are you doing?

- I'm picking up litter.

- You're picking things up.

That's exactly what

I need to find out.

What is litter anyway?

- Well, it's rubbish that

gets left on the ground

instead of put in a bin.

Ah, that grabber thing you're

using is Hoobly-groobly.

- Would you like to have a go?

- Yes, please.

- A grabber.

Grabber.

Oh look.

- I see.

You squeezed it at this end,

and it grabs the

rubbish at this end.

It's a bit like fingers.

- That's right.

- So why aren't you

using your fingers?

- Well, litter can be

dirty, or dangerous.

- Or sharp?

- Could be, yes.

- Oh, Iver, Groove.

- Yes?

- We can use one

of these grabbers

to pick up sharp things.

Order one from

Hoobnet right away.

- Will do.

- Thank you so much, Tamara.

Better go now, but

keep up the good work.

Hooble-toodle-do!

- Hooble-toodle-do!

(orchestral music)

- Right, the little grabber

will be here in no time at all.

- And not a moment too soon.

And then I can start

making my costume.

(electronic whizzing noise)

It's here, I'll get it.

- Ah, stop it!

You're just being silly

now, aren't you, Groove?

- (sighs) Oh, Iver, me silly?

As if.

- Here it is.

Here it is, stand back, stand

back, stand back please.

Here we go.

- Now be careful, Tula.

Mind your Hooby paws.

(gentle music)

- Oh, Hooby-bother.

- Oh, here you are,

Tula, let me try.

(gentle music)

Oh, no.

- You know what the

problem is, don't you?

The Hooby pins are too small.

- And they're not soft,

like paper and material.

They're made of metal

so they're slippery.

Soft things are easier to grab.

(Hubba alert)

- Oh, that litter grabber,

looks, Hoobaceous.

There are all sorts of things

I could grab with that.

- Yeah, but not Hooby

pins, Hubba Hubba.

Never mind.

I'm gonna put it in my

collection of long thin things.

- Ah, Groove.

- When I'm allowed to.

- Oh, good idea, Groove.

Now I found a story on Hoobnet

that might give

you another idea.

All is not lost on the

picking up front, Hoobs.

Take a look at this.

(gentle piano music)

- [Narrator] Gloria globetrotter

was traveling the world.

She went to Africa for

breakfast, India for lunch,

and now she had arrived

in China for dinner.

- Hi

I'm Gloria globetrotter,

and I've come for dinner.

What sort of food you eat here?

- [Narrator] She asked a farmer.

- All sorts.

- [Narrator] He replied.

- But especially rice.

We grow it here in

these paddy fields.

You can try some if you like.

- Sounds delicious.

- [Narrator] Said Gloria,

who loved to try new food.

- Mm.

It looks delicious.

- [Narrator] She said.

- It smells delicious.

Now let's see how

delicious it tastes.

May I have a spoon?

- Ah.

- [Narrator] Said the farmer.

- We don't use spoons

to eat our rice.

We use these, chopsticks.

- Chopsticks?

- [Narrator] Gloria put one

chopstick in her left hand,

and the other chopstick

in her right hand.

She tried to eat the rice,

but she couldn't pick

up a single grain.

- No, no, no.

- [Narrator] Said the farmer.

- You put both chopsticks

in the same hand.

- [Narrator] And he showed

her how it was done.

In a few minutes, the farmer

had eaten his bowl of rice.

But Gloria hadn't managed

to have a single mouth full.

- Oh dear.

- I'm sure it tastes delicious.

- [Narrator] She said.

- But I'm too hungry to

learn how to use chopsticks.

I think I'll go and have

dinner in Australia instead.

Bye.

- Right, I'll order some

chopsticks straight away.

- Good idea.

If they can pick

up grains of rice,

I bet they can

pick up Hooby pins.

- Eh, ow!

Groove, stop it.

I am not moving from this box

however much or

grab me with your,

Ah, ow!

Stop it.

(Groove laughs)

- The chopsticks

are on their way.

It won't be long now

before you can sort out your

long thin things, Groove,

and I can make my costume.

(rocking piano music)

♪ We've got to pick,

pick, pick, pick, ♪

♪ Pick up the pins. ♪

♪ Nobody wins till we

pick up the pins. ♪

♪ You have to finish that task ♪

♪ Before another begins. ♪

♪ We got to pick,

♪ Pick, pick up pins. ♪

♪ These pins will

stop me sorting, ♪

♪ My long thin collection out ♪

♪ All my long thin

things that tickle ♪

♪ This is quite a problem,

a problem involving ♪

♪ A great big Hooby

heap of solving. ♪

♪ I just hope when

the chopsticks come, ♪

♪ I can get my costume done. ♪

♪ I do so hate to

moan and carp, ♪

♪ But this box is full

of pins so sharp. ♪

♪ They might hurt

and make you sore ♪

♪ And you don't want a

break in your Hooby paw. ♪

♪ So let's all hope

that Hubba sends ♪

♪ Just a thing to make amends. ♪

♪ While we wait to

pick up the pins. ♪

♪ We got to pick,

about diving into this box.

Right, I hope I can

remember how to hold them

- That's it.

Now try picking up a Hooby pin.

This one there, Tula.

Oh, oh,

Hooby-blow,

I can't do it.

- It's because we've got

great big furry Hooby paws.

We need little fingers

like the peeps have got.

- Oh, and now I've

dropped them in the box.

- You don't have to worry about

that, Tula, they're perfect.

- Perfect, for what?

♪ What, oh what, ♪

♪ What, ♪

♪ Oh what, oh what? ♪

- For Grooves collection of

long thin things, that's what.

- Exactly,

I just need to be able to

get to my collection now.

(Roma alert)

- Ah, that's Roma.

Maybe she'll have

the answer, Groove.

And then your

collection's all yours.

- Hooble-doop, Hoobs.

- [Together] -

Hooble-doop, Roma.

- Hubba Hubba tells me you're

trying to pick something up.

Well, I've been here all day

trying to pick up a fish.

- Pick up a fish?

Why would you want to do that?

- Well, I'm not

entirely sure, Iver.

But the peeps seem

to like doing it.

And this is what they use.

It's called a fishing rod.

- How do you use it to

pick things up, Roma?

- Oh, it's ever so clever Tula.

There's a big hook on

the end of this line,

which is attached to

this long things stick

- Did she say long thing stick?

- Yes, she did, Groove.

Now pay attention.

- All you do is throw

the hook into the water

and wait for a fish to bite.

- How long do you

have to wait, Roma?

- I have no idea, Iver.

But I have been here

rather a long time already.

As a matter of fact, Hoobs.

I'm getting quite bored.

- You're not going

to give up, are you?

- Oh, no, Tula.

I'm not the kind of

Hoob gives up easily.

But I am the kind of Hoob,

who might just have a little

nap while I'm waiting.

You don't mind, do you?

- Oh, no, no.

- No, no.

- Well, I suppose not.

- Right, I'll just

put this down.

Oh!

- What's the matter, Roma?

Hooby-galooby, I think I

may have caught something.

- [Together] Oh, hip-hip-hooray!

- It's ever so heavy.

- I don't think I can

hold on much longer

- You can do, Roma.

- I, oh, I, ahhh!

(splash)

- Roma, where are you?

- Oh, Hooby-galooby,

It looks like I've just been

picked up by an enormous fish.

This is Roma Hoob

reporting for Hoob news.

Hooble-toodle, ow!

Oi, fish, stop nibbling.

- [Together] Hooble-toodle-do!

- Do you think a

fishing rod might work?

- Well, it's worth a try.

I'll order one from Hoobnet.

- There's no need Tula Hoob.

I've got one in my collection

of wooden things with

hooks and strings.

Course, now think about it

it'll go just as well in my--

- Collection of long

thin things, yes.

- You've got it, Iver.

Why didn't you have a go?

- Hmm?

Oh, okay.

- Don't get too close.

Mind those Hooby paws of yours.

- Yes, all right,

Groove, I know.

Now I'm going to dangle

the line into the water.

Well, the box of

long thin things.

Just like that, there we go.

I'm going to lift it up, now.

Let's see if I've

caught a Hooby pin.

Oh, no, I haven't.

- This isn't going

to work either.

The Hooby pins are straight,

so there's nothing to

hook the hook onto.

- Oh, this is hopeless.

We'll never answer the

question in time for Hoob news.

- And I'll never

make my costume.

- And I'll never get too

sort out my collection.

- Groove, will you please stop

going on and on about

your collection?

(Hubba alert)

- Oh, here's Hubba Hubba.

- Oh, what a Hooble-dooble-duper

rod you've got that, Iver.

- Oh, thank you, Hubba Hubba.

I'm not having any luck

picking up Hooby pins with it.

- Oh dear.

Well, you'd better go

back to the Tiddlypeeps.

And this time, perhaps

you should mention

that it's Hooby pins

you're trying to pick

- We will, I'll drive.

- And Groove will go.

- Oh, I want to stay here.

- No, Groove, you've got to

come and see the Tiddlypeeps.

Come on.

- Oh, she's got a grip on her.

Erm, let's try it on the apple.

No, it won't pick up an apple.

Let's try the paper.

No, won't pick up paper either.

- Try these metal paper clips.

- Paper clips.

(gasps)

Look at that, yeah, it works.

How Hooby-groovy is that?

How does it work?

- Because the paperclips

are made of metal

they stick to the magnet.

- So magnets can pick up

things that are made of metal.

- Most metal things, yeah.

- Hooby-galooby.

I wonder if a magnet

can pick up Hooby pins.

They're made of metal.

- Yes.

- Why don't you try it out?

- That is a Hooby-groovy idea.

- Tula, Iver, order a magnet

from Hoobnet right away.

- All right.

- Thank you so

I'm gonna get back to

the Hoobmobile right now

and see if magnets will work.

- Has the magnet arrived, hey?

- Yes, Groove.

- Oh, how Hooby-groovy is that?

- Now we just need to

see if our Hooby pins

are made of the

right kind of metal

to be picked up by a magnet.

- All right, here we go.

- Ah!

- [Together] Hoob-Hoob-hooray!

- You know, this

magnet has got to be

the most Hooby-groovy

thing I've ever seen.

Now I can sort out my

collection of long thin things.

- And I can make my costume.

- Not now you can't,

it's time for Hoob news.

- Don't forget my collection.

- Now where's my material?

- I'm bringing everything.

(upbeat music, Can-can)

♪ Tootall's gone and fallen

over, yes, she's fallen over. ♪

♪ What are we to do? ♪

♪ We'll have to pick her up. ♪

♪ But how can we do that, when

she has gone down, splat? ♪

♪ Poor Tootall,

what are we to do? ♪

♪ We could always use a crane. ♪

♪ Yes, we could use a crane

to get her up again. ♪

♪ The trouble is ♪

♪ We haven't got one down

here in the engine. ♪

♪ Down her in the engine,

we don't have a crane. ♪

♪ Or maybe we could

use a magnetic ♪

♪ We could use a magnet,

that'll be the thing ♪

♪ To get her up again. ♪

♪ Then Motorettes

can do the Can-can ♪

♪ We can do the Can-can ♪

♪ We can dance and sing. ♪

- Hooble-dop-whoop, to

Welcome to Hoob news, the news

show for Hoobs everywhere.

I'm Iver.

- I'm Tula.

- And I'm Groove

- And today, we've been

asking the question.

- What is the best way

to pick up Hooby pins?

- [Iver] First, we

saw some pictures

of machines that pick things up.

- [Groove] But they

were far too big

to get inside the Hoobmobile.

- [Tula] Then the

Tiddlypeep showed me

how they picked up litter

with litter grabbers.

- [Iver] The Hooby

pins were too small

and slippery for

the litter grabbers.

But then we saw Hoobaceous

story about chopsticks,

- [Tula] But we

discovered that chopsticks

just weren't made for

big furry Hooby paws.

- [Groove] Then Roma told

us all about fishing rods,

- [Tula] But the Hooby

pins were too straight

and the fishing hook had

nothing to hook into.

- [Groove] So I went to

see some more Tiddlypeeps,

and they showed me a magnet,

that will pick up most

things made of metals.

- [Tula] And since our Hooby

pins are made of metal,

we decided to try it out.

And it worked.

- So the best way to

pick up Hooby pins

without getting pricked is,

- [Together] With a magnet.

- Well, well, what an

amazing discovery, Hoobs.

Do you know, I'm going

to do a whole section

in my great Hoobapedia

just about magnets.

- [Together] Hoob-Hoob-hooray!

- So it's thanks once again

to Iver, Tula, Groove,

and Roma, for giving

Hoobs everywhere

a little peep into

the world of peeps.

Now it's time I picked

myself up now and left.

with making my costume.

- What sort of costume

is it going to be, Tula?

- Well, I'm not sure.

I've got these long lengths

of orange and green material.

- I know, you can be a carrot.

- [Tula and Iver] A carrot?

- Yeah, that would be

Hooby-groovy, Tula.

- Why, Groove?

- Because a carrot would be

perfect for my collection of,

- [Together] Long thin things.

(laughing)
