[narrator] The babies are playing a game of "Lulu Says."

Lulu says... stop wiggling!

[narrator] Babies, directions help you tell someone where-- and how far-- to go.

I think Tilly needs help counting.

[laughs]

What're you playing, Lulu?

Oh, it's a video game called Noodle Master.

Oh. Well, uh, could Tilly have a turn?

Tilly doesn't know how to play.

Oh. But, well, you're so good at it. You could teach her.

[gasps] Oh, yes!

And then maybe you can be Noodle Master! Ha!

Maybe.

[excited noise]

Lulu knows the best way to play!

You pretend you're in the game! Wanna do that, Tilly?

Shì!

[giggles] Okay.

Let's use our imaginations.

-[video game noises] -[slurps]

Tilly, are you ready to try to become a Noodle Master?

I'll tell you where to go. Ready, Tilly?

Just go over there.

Ooh. Ah.

Over there. That way.

Go that way.

Oh, no, you're gonna hit the Leaning Tower of Pasta!

[video game noises]

[slurps] Ahh.

Let's try again.

Tilly, you have to go on the right path.

[video game noises]

Okay. Uh, now, you can't go over--

No, not there. Where, where, where are you going?

Where are you going? Tilly?

[excited noise]

No, that's not right. Tilly, that's wrong.

You have to go that way! No, that--

What are-- What is happening?

Tilly? Oh, okay. Oh, oh, oh.

No, Tilly, no.

Oh, careful, you're gonna wake the Macaroni Monsters!

[video game noises]

[Lulu] You're not doing it right.

-Tilly, you can't play my game anymore. -Oh.

You have to give it back!

Well, what's wrong?

Tilly doesn't go where I say.

She keeps going that way, and not this way.

Uh, maybe you need to give better directions.

-Dir-ec-tions? -Yeah.

I don't know how to do that.

Well, you have to tell Tilly which way to go...

and how many squares.

Did you say "how many"? Maybe this is a math problem!

We need...

[all] Math Molly!

[all chattering]

[narrator] The babies are here to use math to solve a problem.

We need help!

Tilly really wants to be a Noodle Master like me!

First, Tilly has to go there!

Which way is that?

[drumroll]

[kids] Down one square!

[giggles]

Now Tilly has to go that way.

How do I say that?

[drumroll]

[kids] To the side two squares!

That's the last direction.

Where does Tilly go now?

[drumroll]

[kids] Up three squares!

So those are the directions--

down, to the side, and then up!

And a different number of squares each time!

So Tilly can win!

[all cheer]

But first, a...

[all] Math party!

♪ We did math ♪

♪ We went down the math path ♪

♪ We stopped to think the problem out ♪

♪ Now it's time to jump and shout ♪

[Lulu] You're almost there!

Now, go up three squares.

[laughs]

[fireworks exploding]

[laughs]

[all cheering]

Tilly the Noodle Master!

[all laugh]

And don't forget Lulu, the Noodle Master... Master!

[giggles]

You gave great directions.

[excited noise]

-Huh. -Oh.

I think Tilly wants to give us directions now.

Yeah.

She wants to do the pattern dance.

[excited noise]

[all chattering]

♪ We'll follow Tilly's pattern ♪

[narrator] The babies are playing in the playroom today.

Any sign of the outlaw?

Oh. Howdy, Sheriff. Who y'all lookin' for?

Tilly the Kid.

-[plays off-key] -[gasps]

She's wanted for eating too many crackers.

And that could cause the greatest crime of all...

a tummy ache.

Too bad you'll never find her.

The Cookie Crumble Kid!

-[dramatic music playing] -♪ Buh ♪

That's right, Sheriff.

You'll never find Tilly the Kid

because I taught her how to hide!

[laughs]

-[dramatic music playing] -♪ Bum, bum, buh ♪

It looks like you also taught her how to be messy!

[gasps] cr*cker crumbs!

So where do they lead, Sheriff?

This trail leads to the playground!

Let's take the Bubble Train, and get there fast!

Oh, yeah!

Good idea, Deputy!

Uh, I mean... let's go!

[all laugh] Whoo!

[all laugh]

Ooh, the Whatsit Toy!

Oh, don't worry, Sheriff. I'll rustle him up for ya!

[all chattering]

[all chattering]

Open up there, Whatsit!

The Whatsit Toy always has what you need when you need it!

[all] Oh! Hey, Whatsit!

-Whatsit Toy! -Bye-bye.

What is it?

-It's a... map! -[gasps] Wow!

To treasure!

[all gasp]

Treasure? Oh, well, I'll bet it's...

gold!

It's gold, I tell you, gold!

Oh, I want it! I need it!

Somebody find me that sweet, sweet gold!

Um...

I like gold. It's shiny.

[all laugh]

Well then, let's find that treasure!

[all cheer]

Uh, wait a second. Do any of us know how to read a map?

Well... I mean... of course... uh, no.

Well, maybe we follow these dots like we followed the crumbs.

Yeah. I think those dots show us where to go.

Maybe less dots means we're close, and more dots means--

We're far.

Less and more is math, right?

I think I know someone who can help us read this map.

[all] Math Molly!

[trumpets]

[all chattering]

[narrator] The babies are here to use math to solve a problem.

Help us find the gold!

[Franny] That's our map. We start over there.

And then we follow the dots to here.

That's a mountain.

Big kids, here we have to go...

[drumroll]

[dings]

[kids] Over!

Over the mountain.

[laughs]

That's a bridge.

So, big kids, here we should go...

[drumroll]

[dings]

[kids] Under!

Under the bridge. That makes sense.

Yeah.

That's a pond.

So, big kids, here we should go...

[drumroll]

[dings]

[kids] Around!

Yep, around the pond.

We could do that.

Those are two trees.

So, big kids, here we should go...

[drumroll]

[dinging]

[kids] Between!

Between two trees.

Got it!

Now we're ready to follow this map and find that gold!

We sure will!

But first, let's have a...

[all] Math party!

[all cheer]

[Bailey] Between the two trees!

[gasps]

There it is!

[all cheer]

There's a button on the treasure chest.

What should I do?

[gasps] Push it! Push it! Push it!

[all cheer]

Ah!

Wow!

[all cheer]

[upbeat music playing]

-Oh, a party in a box! -Party in a box!

Our treasure is a party!

Oh! Cookitybot brought yummy snacks!

Best party ever!

[all chattering]

Oh, what's the matter, Bailey? Don't you like the party?

I do, but I was kinda excited for...

[gasps] Gold?

[all gasp] Sticketybot!

[narrator] Babies, you did a great job learning how to read a map today,

so you're all getting a sticker.

[all cheer]

This sticker is... gold!

It's gold! Gold! Sweet, sweet gold!

Feeling better, Bailey?

Better? I feel so happy I could dance!

A happy dance!

[all cheer]

[upbeat music playing]
