[narrator] "Marion and the Pipe."

It was a bright sunny day on the Island of Sodor.

Marion the Steam Shovel was repairing the embankment on the mainline.

Ah, nothing getsmy pistons pumping

like digging a nice fresh hole!

The only thing Marion liked more than digging holes,

was telling the engines all the things she'd dug up from holes.

Unfortunately, the other engines didn't always want to stop

and listen to Marion's stories.

Ah, good morning Percy!

Did I tell you about the timeI dug up a whole hoardof Roman coins?

Ah, I think you have, Marion.Sorry!

[whistles toots]

I've got cars to deliver. Bye!

[engine whistle toots]

Express coming through!

Look out! Stop!

Oh!

Watch where you're swingingthat shovel of yours!

Gordon, let me tell youthe story of the time

I unearthed the fossilof a Woolly Mammoth.

Not today, thank you!The Express waits for no story!

[whistle toots]

No appreciation for goodold-fashioned dirt, that engine.

Marion had nearly finished repairing the embankment

when Thomas arrived.

[whistle toots]

And he loved hearing Marion's stories.

-Thomas!-Hello, Marion.

You never finished telling meabout the time you dug upthat treasure chest.

Oh, yes, it was a few years ago,

in a very interesting areaof gravel

and all of a sudden I dug upsome pirate treasure!

Wow!

There were rubies and emeralds

and a giant diamondas big as your-- Ooh!

Goodness gracious me!

I've found something!

Do you know what this is,Thomas?

It looks like a water pipe?

[chuckling] A pipe? Nonsense.

This is a mastfrom a Viking long ship!

I'm pretty sure it's a pipe.

Anyway, I'll see you later,Marion, I've got to go!

[whistle toots]

Yes, yes, I'm quite sure of it.

Oh, marvelous mud!What a discovery!

Oh, ahem.It is a water pipe.

Nothing a good shovel-fullof mud can't fix.

The next day Thomas was approaching the embankment again

when he spottedsomething worrying.

Bust my buffers!Marion must have brokenthat water pipe,

and now it's leaking!

That could be dangerous!

Now then, Bill and Ben,

who wants to play a game ofGuess What's In My Shovel?

Come on, see if you can guess.

Oh, that's a tough one.Let me think.

Is it a bunch of bananas?

Wrong! Guess again.

Is it a flock of sheep?

No. [chuckling] Last try!

[in unison] Is it mud?

You're right! Marvelous mud!

This game never gets old, does it?

-[whistle toots]-Marion!

You did dig upa water pipe yesterdayand I think it's leaking!

Nonsense, Thomas, I told you,it was er--

just some more pirate treasure.

It's, um, quite commonon Sodor.

I thought you saidit was a Viking long ship?

Did I? Are you sure?

Oh, look at this lovely thickclay it's quite extraordinary--

Marion, you must come!

All right, Thomas,if you insist.

[whistle toots]

[gasps] Ooh!

Come on Marion, hurry! We've got to get therequickly. Marion?

Marvelous mud!Look at the lovely dirtalong here, Thomas.

If that pipe keeps leakingit'll close the mainline!

All right, all right.I'm coming.

It's perfectly fine!

I told you there was nothingto worry about, Thomas. See?

I'm sure I saw water.

Never mind Thomas, come backto the Clay Pits.

Have I ever shown youmy rock collection?

Bouncing boulders!

Look out!

Oh, dear, it wasa water pipe I found.

What a mess, Thomas. I'm sorry.

What shall we do?

You need to clear the trackswhile I warn the other engines!

[whistle toots]

Right-o!

Pistons pumping and shovel digging,

Marion worked harder than ever.

I hope Marion gets the trackcleared before an y--

-[engine whistling]-Oh, no!

[Gordon] Expresscoming through!

[Marion grunting]

[Gordon] Out of the way!

[Marion grunting]

Four!

[whistle toots]

Marion, you did it!

Thomas, did I ever tell you

about the timea young blue engine

dug a silly old steam shovelout of a deep hole?

No, I don't think you have.

Oh, wait a second,I get it. You mean me.

Thank you for your help today.

Next time I dig up a water pipeI'll tell someone.

[whistle toots]

And so Thomas steamed back to his station.

And Marion puffed back to the Clay Pits.

She was feeling very tired after her adventure.

Hello, Marion. Fancy a gameof Guess What's in My Shovel?

-Oh, I don't know.-[Ben] Come on!

I'll go first.

Is it a bucket of fish?

Nope! Guess again.

Is it a big wobbly jelly?

No, last try.

[in unison] Is it mud?

Nope. It's a chestof pirate treasure!

-[both] It is?-[Marion chuckling] No.

Not really, it's mud!

[laughs] Nice joke, Marion,good one!
