Somewhere deep in the caves,

the Sand Spear sits alone,

except for a strange
glowing creature

lurking in the darkness.

- [squeals]

What kind of creature?

But late at night,

as the tide flows
through the caves,

you can hear its
financial-curling growls.

[all gasp]

- [laughs]

- Papi, I've got a great idea.

Let's go find the Sand Spear.

- That would be
quite the adventure,

What a spectacular sight!

- Shimmering sea stars!

These tiny creatures
that make this glowing goo

are called glow worms.

I've always wanted
to see them.

- That's right,

You know, I first saw them
when I explored

the Forbidden Kelp Forest,
and--

[rumbling]
[gasps]

Lorelai, look out!

- We have to get out of here.

- Quick, do exactly as I do.

- Aye aye, Papi.

- Swim this way.

- [gasps] Papi, look out!

Bubble of air,
catch the rock up there!

- Wow. Nice job, Lorelai.

- Strong work, mateys.
- [squeals]

- The storm is coming!

- Hurry, mateys.

They're not here.
Let's keep going.

- Wondrous worms!
- Whoa!

They're so beautiful.

can be beautiful and scary.

It must be the creature
from the story.

- [growling]

- It's after us!

- Quick, hide over here!

[both panting]

- Do you think it's gone?

- Let's check.

- [growling]

[sneezes]

- Dusty dolphins!

Those weren't growls.
Those were sneezes.

- [huffs]
- It's covered in dust.

I have to help.

- Lorelai, wait!

- Don't worry, matey.
I got this.

Bubbles of the sea,
clear the dust for me.

- [growls happily]

- Whoa.

That was so clever of you.

You knew there was
something wrong,

and you had to help out.

- [laughs]

That's what we Pirate
Protectors do.

- Hey, mira!

More petroglyphs.
- Whoa!

What do they say?

- Hm, this says the Sand Spear
grants whoever holds it

the power to control sand.

And it can only be held

by Merlandia's
greatest adventurer.

- That's definitely you, Papi.

- Thank you, mi niña.

[exhales]
Here goes nothin'.

[grunting]

Just need to put
my fins into it.

Come on, Spear! Ahh!
- [distant growling]

[indistinct chatter]

- Uh-oh, the ranger
never said anything

about another creature.

[indistinct shouting]

- Rapido!
- [gasps] Princesa!

I was so worried
about you both!

- How did you all get inside?

The entrance caved in.

- ♪ Tactical shovel ♪

[all laugh]

[rumbling]

- Mateys, the storm's
right above us.

We gotta get out of here!
- [cooing]

- Our new friend says
he knows the fastest way out.

Let's follow him.

[rumbling]
- [gasps]

The ceiling's collapsing.

Ah, it's not working.

The cave is filling up.

[straining]

- What are we going to do,

was the most beautiful thing!
