Oh, I love thisdunking in the sand day.

Dunk, how'd you think of it?- Easy!

I was playing in the sandand my name is Dunk,

so, the rest is history!

- Oh, hey!What's that?

- What?[gasps]

What's there?Is it a shark?

I don't like itwhen it's a shark!

- [chuckles]No, it's nothing like that.

Just a--wait, come with me.

[chuckles]Just look!

- Huh?Oh, you mean that thing.

That's just my sand pattern.

- Wow, you--you mean you made that?

- Well sure, but, I mean,it's no big deal.

- Wha--no big deal?

Dunk, it's only the most amazingbig deal I think I've ever seen!

- No, really?

You think it's a big deal?

- Oh, yeah!

This is a very big deal.I mean--

I mean, look at this,Dunk.

You're a--you're a sand artist.

- A sand artist?- Yeah.

- Me? Oh, come on!It's nothing.

I'm sure your patternis the same as mine.

- Uh, well, not exactly.- Oh.

Oh, well,it was your first time.

Maybe try again.I'm sure you can do it.

- You're right!Hey, hey,

let's dunk in the sand againand see what happens.

- Okay, ready?Let's get dunking!

- [chuckles]Yeah.

Ooh, hey, let's makesome even cooler sand art!

- Whoo.[chuckles]

both: Whoo-hoo.- Yippy-yo.

- Okay, I'd like youto watch my wheelie!

- Whoa.- Look at this.

- Do, do, do.- Nice.

[laughter]

See?I'm just dunking, that's all.

Nothing special.- Yeah, uh, Dunk?

- Yeah, Splash?- That looks pretty special.

- Oh, well, it does, doesn't it?- Yeah.

- No, I can't be the only onethat can do something special.

Maybe Ripple and Bubblescan do it, too!

- Well, let's find out.- Yee-ha!

- Is this how you do it?- No clue.

I just have fun playingin the sand.

Isn't it fun?- Yeah.

I mean, yeah, pretty fun.

I'm kind of getting tired,though.

- Yeah, me too.- Okay, okay, okay, Dunk.

Is it time for a break?

- See?We all made great sand patterns.

- Well, Dunk,we made piles of sand.

You're the only onewho made a pattern.

- That's okay.We're all having fun.

I could play in the sandall day.

What about you guys?- Um, well, actually,

I think the rest of us are readyto play something else.

- Oh, well, really?What else would you want to do?

This is the most fun thing ever!

- Well, how about finball?- Or hide and seek?

- Yeah, or playing in the mudand the goop

and swimming in slime?

- Oh, oh yeah, right.

Oh, I guess those thingsare fun too.

Not as much fun as dunkingin the sand! Whoo!

- Well, we're gonna go playat Takeoff Point.

Do you want to come, Dunk?

- Uh, I think I'll just stayhere and do more sand patterns.

- Okay, if that's what you want.We'll see you later.

- Yeah, have fun Dunk.Bye!

- Bye-bye!- Whoo-hoo.

- Hey, Wave!- Hi, Wave!

- Hey there, kids!Where's your other friend?

You know, the onewith the puffing up thing?

- Oh, that's Dunk.

And he's downin the sandy bed today.

- Oh, too bad.Doesn't he feel well?

- No, he feels great.- Oh.

- He's having fun makingpatterns in the sand.

- Oh, patterns, huh?

- Yeah, they're really cool!

You should go seewhat he's up to.

- Oh, [chuckles]that's a fine idea, young Dash!

- Uh, Splash.

- Yes, that's what I said.

I'll direct myself overto the sandy bed right now.

- Yeah.

- That looks good.Oh, I like that!

- Oh, hey Dunk!What you doing there?

- Oh, nothing special.Just playing in the sand.

- Oh, can I see?- Oh, sure.

But you've beenall over the ocean.

I'm sure you've seen stufflike this lots of times before.

- I have never seen anythinglike this before anywhere!

- Really?Oh, thanks!

- What do you think it means?

- You think it means something?Why?

- Well, I just figured you weretrying to say something

with the sand patternsince it was so fancy.

- Oh, I don't know.I never thought of it that way.

- Hmm, it's all in the wayyou look at it.

Look closely again.What do you see?

- I see...- Yeah?

- A pile of sand.

- Well, that's interesting.Huh.

- Well, what do you see?

- Ah, I see...a map!

- A map?- Sure!

Oh, you can follow it here,here, or there.

So many directions!I love it.

[laughing]

- Well, why would I make a mapto somewhere I don't even know?

- You'll figure it out.I've gotta get back.

Traffic, you know.Bye!

- Oh, I wonder whatthis pattern means.

- Hey kids! I was just talkingto your friend, Lunk.

Boy, he sure is one confusedlittle puffer.

- Well, you mean Dunk.But he seemed fine before.

- Yeah, he doesn't know if he'smaking a map, a puzzle, or what.

- I think we'd better gocheck on him.

- Yeah, come on guys.- Yeah.

- Yeah.- Oh.

[upbeat music]

- Oh, hey, Dunk.

What happenedwith all the sand dunking?

- Well, I'm not doing thatanymore.

- What?Why not?

- Yeah, you were havingso much fun.

- Well, I can't figure outwhy I do it or what it means.

- Why does it have to meansomething?

- I don't know.Wave said that I--

- Look, do you like dunkingin the sand?

- I love it, but--

- And we love the patternsyou make.

So, it's simple as that.- Yeah, they look nice.

- So, it's okayto just have fun?

Even though I don't knowwhat it means?

- Well, that's the best wayto have fun!

- Yeah. You know what?You're right!

I don't care why I do this.

I like it,and that's good enough for me!

[upbeat music]

- Nice day for somesand patterns, hey, Dunk?

- Oh, hey Gush!I was just--

wait, aren't you going to ask mewhat I'm doing?

- Well, I can seewhat you're doing.

You're playing in the sand andmaking a beautiful pattern.

- No, I'm just--yeah, that is what I'm doing.

- Oh, go right ahead, then.

- Oh.[chuckles]

Hold up.

Aren't you gonna ask mewhy I'm doing it?

- Nope, I already know why.

- [gasps]You do?

- Sure, and you probably know,too.

- Oh.All I know is I like it.

It's fun and relaxingto make patterns in the sand.

- And that's the best reasonof all, to make art!

- But, how come my friendscan't do this?

- Well,there's a good reason.

You're a puffer fish,and they're not.

- So?

- Well, it's something sometypes of puffer fish do.

That's why it'sa puffer fish pattern.

- A puffer fish pattern?- Exactly!

You've made a patternwhich is symmetrical, or even,

all the way aroundjust from dunking in the sand.

- Why do puffer fish do this?

- Well, you could call itjust instinct,

or doing somethingbecause it's natural to you.

- Well, it does feel natural.

- And, you may be interested toknow that one day

a female puffer fishmay like it!

- A girl puffer fish?

Why would that interest me?

- Well, you never know.[chuckles]

For now,just keep having fun. Bye.

- Sounds good to me!I could do this all day!

[chuckles]

- Dunk! Hey, Dunk![chuckles]

Buddy, what you doing?

Oh, he's asleep.

Wow, looks like he played hereall day.

- Wow, his patternis pretty amazing!

- Yeah, I wonderif he ever figured out

what his pattern means.

- Wow, nice sand pattern.

-Thanks.Our friend Dunk made it.

- Tell your friendhe's a really good artist.

- Thanks.We can wake him up if--

- Wow!Did you see her?

She's a puffer fish,just like Dunk!

- And she likes Dunk's art.

- And she's gone.

Should we wake him upand tell him about it?

- Well, no, maybe she'll comeback again one day.

But for now,let's let him sleep.

[chuckles]- Yeah.

- Good-night, bestest buddy.[chuckles]

Wow, he's so talented.- [snoring]

- And now it's time to...

- If you could have an oceansuperpower, what would it be?

male announcer: The power of archer fish!

Archer fish have keen eyes

to spot their food above the water.

And when they see their target...

The spit super fast jets of water to catch their food.

Imagine, the power to catch your food by spitting at it.

The power of shark ray!

Is it a shark? Is it a ray?

You don't have to decide, 'cause it's a shark ray.

This unusual fish uses its face

to sense the electrical fields around animals

it wants to eat.

Like lobsters.

Imagine if you could sense electricity,

and find your next meal.

The ocean is full of unique and amazing super powers.

Shark ray, archer fish, unite!

- Ocean superpowers.

- This has been...

[kids cheering]

- [laughing]- Look out, Splash.

I'm on your tail!- Here I come, guys!

[laughter]

- Nice swimming, Dunk,but you can't catch me yet!

- Oh, yeah. Oh.

- I've got you now, Bubbles.- Hiya, Dunk!

- [gasps]

both: whoa.- Huh?

- Dunk?- [sighs]

- What did I miss?- Sea tag.

Wow, Ripple.You surprised me.

- Oh, well,I heard something today

that will really surpriseyou all.

- Ooh, I like surprises.

- It's a weird storyabout a creature

that's mystical and magical.

It's called...a sea dragon.

- Whoa, a sea dragon?

That would beso cool to find.

Plus, I am a dragonet,

so, um, I'll probablybe the one to find it.

- Uh, um,I've never heard of this

in all my years in Reeftown.

So you've seen the sea dragon,right, Ripple?

- Oh, of course Ripple's seena sea dragon.

[chuckles]Right? Tell us, Ripple.

- Well, the thing is, I've neveractually seen it myself,

but my papa told meabout the sea dragons.

So, I'm super sureI'm getting it right.

- Super sure?

- So, Ripple, when your papa sawthe sea dragon, what did he say?

- Well, you see,

it was actually my papa'suncle's friend's grandma.

Or was it her sister?

- So someone your papa knows

heard about dragonsfrom someone else?

- Yes!That sounds right!

And the dragonsare magical creatures

who live far, far awayin the ocean

and are impossible to spot.

- Wow.And what do they look like?

- Well, I'm not sure.[gasps]

Do you think the dragonshave two heads?

- [chuckles]Oh , look, hello!

We're a two-headed sea dragon.

[laughter]

- So, uh, none of ushave seen a sea dragon.

Are they really real?

- Well, I'm not sure.But I do know one thing,

finding out about themwill be an adventure!

Let's go Reeftown Rangers!

all: Ocean friends forever!

- Yeah!- Whoo-hoo.

- Let's catch a current!

- So the plan is to go lookfor sea dragons

that none of us have seen

in a place that noneof us have been?

- We also don't knowwhere we're going.

Bonus!- That did it.

- Oh, Dunk, Dunk, Dunk, Dunk,Dunk, Dunk, Dunk, Dunk.

Breathe in, breathe out.

Breathe in, breathe out.

- Thanks.Better now.

I was just worried about you,Ripple.

I didn't want the sea dragonsto frighten you.

Since you're the smallestand all.

- [chuckles] Oh, me?

I'm totally fine.Totally calm.

I can't waitto meet a sea dragon.

- Great! Let's go! Now![laughter]

- Wait, uh, hey, I feel like weneed to know, uh,

where these sea dragons liveand, uh, how to get there.

- Well, I'm sure Wavecan give us easy directions.

Let's go ask.- Yeah. Good idea, Ripple.

- Okay.- Come on!

- Sea dragons?Okay.

You want to hop right onto theKuroshio Current

over to the good oldNorth Pacific

to the California Current.

When you get to a coral reef

that's sort of a green, bluey,reddy color--

- I don't think that's a color.- [chuckles] You got it!

That's when you're atthe South Equatorial Current.

That'll take you to the EastAustralian Current. You follow?

- Well, there was a--all: Uh, no.

- From there,you'll catch an eddy

that takes you rightto the kelp forest and boom!

There'll be your sea dragons.

Easy, right?- Uh, Kuroshio Current...

- Yeah, something aboutCalifornia.

- There was a North Pacificin there somewhere.

- Sounds like you're all set.Easy, peasy, can't miss 'em.

Okay, have funwith the sea dragons!

- Thanks Wave!- Okay.

- Yeah, uh,Did you guys, uh, get all that?

- Uh, sure.

I just don't rememberthe first part

or the last and I think I gotsome of the middle.

- Well, there was definitelysomething

about a bunch of currents, so,um, I say we just go that way.

- Good enough for me.To the current!

- Whoo-hoo![laughter]

- Yeah! [chuckles]all: Let's go!

- ♪ We're ready to takethe ride of our lives ♪

chorus: ♪We're gonna catcha current ♪

- Yeah!

♪ The whole ocean's waitingright before our eyes ♪

- ♪ We'll see whatwe've never seen before ♪

Well, the sea dragonsmust be around here somewhere.

- Yeah.- [gasps] Hey! Look at that!

Come on.- What? [gasps]

- It's like that wall of kelpis moving.

- See any dragons?- No. Hmm.

He must be here somewhere.- Hmm.

[all gasping]- [sucking]

- Wait!What's that noise?

- Well, It sounds likeit's coming from in here.

- Yeah.- Come on.

Let's go check it out.- Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- Yeah![chuckles]

- Hmm.- Dragons.

- You guys hear anything?all: No.

- Ar, excuse me.[all gasping]

- Uh, does seaweed talk?- [chuckles]

Maybe that isn't seaweed.

- Maybe we found a new kind ofseaweed that talks and has eyes.

- Oh, that would be an amazingdiscovery, but I'm not seaweed.

- Do you know wherethe scary sea dragons are?

- G'day mates!all: Whoa!

- Yeah,we're Mr. and Mrs. Leafy.

- Yeah, the very scary seadragons you're looking for.

And we do talk.- Cool.

- But,where's your dragon parts?

You know, horns, teeth,

scary everything?

- Yeah. You guys are,um, really leafy.

- We are leafy,and we are sea dragons.

We tend to blend intothe leaves,

or kelp blades,around us.

- Whoa, you really do looklike kelp!

Huh, that's great!

- You got that right mate.Our shapes help us hide.

all: Cool![laughter]

- Hey, you know, Ripple,there's a lot about you

that's kinda likeMr. and Mrs. Leafy.

- Really?- Yeah.

- Wait, let me see.Like my tail?

- Oh, yeah, you've got a tailjust like us.

- [chuckles]- Wow, you're not just tails.

You have bodies like Ripples.

-Yeah, and you both have thesame facial fins.

- We do?[laughing]

- [gasps] Hey guys!Check out the snouts!

- [sucking]- Wow! I eat the exact same way!

Sucking zooplankton upthrough my snout!

It's the best!And I love to eat so much!

And I have to eat a lot!

[all sucking]

- Yeah, that's gross.I love it!

[laughter]

- Ripple, I have news.You are our relative.

We're distant relatives,but still related. It's true.

- That's why we have thesesimilar snouts, fins, and tails.

all: Wow.- Oh, this is great!

We're relatives!Whoo-hoo!

I'm related to dragons!- Yeah.

- Well-known,mysterious dragons! Yes!

So, that means I'm a dragon too,right?

- Well, Ripple,we're not exactly alike.

Let's just say you're anhonorary dragon.

- Oh, I'll take it!

I love that I'm a dragon!Uh, honorary. Whoo.

I can't wait to tell my papa.[gasps] Oh, no!

I said I'd be back soon,and we've been gone a long time.

- You were visiting family.He'll understand.

both: Yeah.- You're right, Splash.

But still,I should head home.

My papa worriesif I'm gone too long.

He takes care of meand my many, many brothers.

- Oh, that's really interesting

'cause sea dragon dadsdo the same thing.

- Yes!Okay.

Oh, you have to come backto Reeftown with us.

Now.Please?

- Oh, we appreciate the offer,Ripple.

And we loved meeting all youkids, but we're staying put.

- Yeah, but you be sure to visitus again sometime, okay?

all: We will!

- And now you knowhow to find us.

Look for the tail, body, andsnout that's just like yours.

- Got it!

Oh, it's so great to meet you,Aunt and Uncle Leafy.

Uh, Is that okay?

- Of course it is!- Oh, yeah, sure! Bye, Ripple.

- See you later, kids.- Bye, kids!

- Bye-bye!- Thank you.

- Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Leafy!- Bye.

- Oh. Oh.

[chuckles]

- There really are sea dragons!And guess what?

They're leafy!- Ooh.

And blend into kelpand have fins like this.

- Ah.- [chuckles]

And a tail like me![both laughing]

all: And your same snout!

- Oh, right! The Leafy's and mehave the same snout.

And we eat the same way.[all sucking]

- Wow, that's reallyinteresting!

I wish I could've metthese sea dragons.

- Well, you happen to havea sea dragon relative

right here in the reef.

- Huh?Where?

- [growling][laughter]

- Lookout! A dragon!- Oh, that was hilarious!

[laughter]

- And now it's time to...

- What is a kelp forest?

- We turned our classroominto a kelp forest.

[upbeat music]

- Kelp is an underwater plantcalled algae.

♪ ♪

Lots of animals live in the kelp forest.

♪ ♪

- Seals.

♪ ♪

Wolf eels.

♪ ♪

Sea urchins.

♪ ♪

Garibaldi.

♪ ♪

- I'm a Garibaldi fish,and I'm keeping my garden clean.

♪ ♪

No sea urchinsor sea stars allowed.

♪ ♪

If I keep my nest clean,

females will laytheir eggs here.

Yay!

- I hope I can seea kelp forest someday.

- This has been...

[kids cheering]

[upbeat music]

- [child laughing]
