- Hi, it's me, whyatt! Ready to go on a reading adventure?

Super!

Look, it's jasper's cowboy wish!

In this story, we'll sing the alphabet,

Practice the magic of spelling,

Discover a new word,

And use the power to read to change the story.

Let's go!

Welcome to storybrook village,

Where all our fairy tale friends live!

- Woof! Woof! Woof! [Ring tone]

- Oooh! Looks like my friends are playing cowboys!

Come on! - Woof! Woof! Woof!

- Woof! Woof! Woof!

- Come on!

Hi, grandma. We're going to play cowboys with red and pig. - Woof!

- Hey, cowboy whyatt!

- Howdy!

- Woof! Woof! - Hi.

- We're playing cowboys and cowgirls.

I'm a cowgirl, and I ride the speediest horse in the west!

Yee-haw!

- Well, ahm cowboy whyatt, and ah will build us a tent.

Wanna help, pup?

- Woof, woof! - Yee-haw!

- Giddyup, giddyup, horsey.

- Woof! - Come on, cowboy pig!

Don't you want to be a cowboy too?

- Well, yes I do.

But I don't know what a cowboy does.

What can I do?

- This is a super big problem.

And a super big problem needs us, the super readers!

We need to call the rest of the super readers.

Call them with me.

Say, "calling all super readers!"

- [Kids]: calling all super readers!

- To the book club! - [Kids]: to the book club!

- Come on, to the book club!

Whyatt here!

- Woof! Woof!

- P is for pig!

- Red riding hood rollin' in!

- Princess pea at your service!

[Sniffing]

- And you, say your name!

Great. We're all here.

Together we will solve pig's problem!

Let's go!

[Computer beeping]

Ok, pig, state your problem!

- I want to play cowboys with everyone.

But, I don't know what to do!

What else can cowboys do?

- Excellent question!

When we have a question, we look...

- [All]: in a book!

- Which book should we look in?

- Peas and carrots, carrots and peas,

Book come out, please, please, please!

[Magical chiming]

- Let's read the title of this book.

Jasper's cowboy wish.

We know what to do!

We need to jump into this book

And find the answer to pig's question!

First, we look for super letters.

And then, put them in our super duper...

...computer!

Super duper computer, how many super letters do we need?

In this story, we need four super letters.

And then we'll get our super story answer!

It's time to transform! Ready?

- [All]: ready!

- Come on, puppy. You're coming too!

- Woof! - Super duper!

- Hi, I'm jasper!

- "One day, jasper saw two cowboys

Riding along a dusty trail." [Horse neighs]

- Oooh, cowboys!

- "Jasper wanted to be a cowboy too,

But he did not know how!"

- What do cowboys do?

- And that, super readers, is why we are in this book!

Pig and jasper both don't know what cowboys do.

- We need to find jasper! Let's roll!

♪♪♪ [Harmonica]

- Hi, jasper. I mean, howdy!

We're the super readers, and we're here to help.

- Oh, good, 'cause I really need help.

[They gasp]

- Hooowdy, partners!

I am cowboy cal,

The rompin'-est, stompin'-est cowboy

In the old west!

- Cowboy cal, can you help our friend jasper become a cowboy?

- Well, I'll be a hat-wearin', boot-stompin' cowpoke!

Of course I can!

The first thing you need to do to be a cowboy is

To ride your horse. [He whistles]

[Horses neigh] [jasper gasps]

- Ok, jasper,

Hop on and follow me to the stream!

- Nooo problem! Yeee-hip! [Horse neighs]

Heh... Yeee-hop?

- I think you mean yeeeeeee-haww!

See you soon!

- Ok, horse. Here goes nothing.

[Grunting with effort]

Yeee...

Ugh! Oh...

Let me try this again.

Got it... Got it...

Whoa! Ow!

Don't got it. - Jasper! Are you all right?

- I'm all right, I'm all right.

I just can't seem to stay on this horse. Ugh.

Super readers, what am I doing wrong?

- Woof, woof! You need a saddle!

- A saddle? What's that? - Woof!

Woofster to the rescue!

With my doggie dictionary I can tell you what any word means!

"Saddle" means: a seat that helps you stay on a horse

And makes riding more comfortable. "Saddle."

Now we know what it means! Woof-de-doo!

Give your tail a wag!

If I use a saddle, I won't fall off my horse!

But where can I get one? [Horse neighs]

- Alpha pig to the rescue!

With my amazing alphabet tools,

I can build a saddle for your horse!

- Whoa! - Abc, sing with me!

Ok, the first letter in the word "saddle" is s.

Where's the s?

- [Kids]: there!

- There's the s!

And where's the a?

- [Kids]: there!

- There's the a!

- Ahhhh.

- Now we need a d.

Uh, where's the d?

- [Kids]: there!

- Actually, we need two of those.

Where's that d again?

- [Kids]: there!

- Yup, there's the d.

[Jasper laughs] now we need an l.

Where's the l?

- [Kids]: there!

- There's the l!

And finally, where's the e?

- [Kids]: there!

- There's the e!

S-a-d-d-l-e.

Saddle! [Jasper laughs]

Lickety letters! We found the letters

In the word "saddle" and made a saddle for the horse!

[Horse neighs]

Let's give ourselves a big thumbs up!

- Yee-hippity-hoppity!

Let's try this again.

I didn't fall off!

The saddle worked!

Now I can ride my horse over to cowboy cal!

Giddy-puppy!

- Woof?

Oh, you mean giddy-up!

- Oh, yeah. Giddyup! [Horse neighs]

- Awesome! - Yee-haw!

Oh, you see a super letter? Which letter?

- [Kids]: e! - E? Yeah!

Let's put it in our super duper...

- [Whyatt and kids]: computer!

- Three more super letters and then we'll get

Our super story answer!

Super job, super readers! Come on!

- Well, I'll be! That's some excellent

Horse riding there, jasper! - Thanks!

Like my saddle? It's new. And it keeps me on my horse.

So, am I a cowboy yet? Huh? Am, am i?

- Slow down there, little feller.

You still need to do a few more things

Before you become a rompin', stompin' cowboy like me.

- Like what?

- Like spinning a rope. Like this.

This rope is called a lasso

Because it has a loop on the end.

- A lasso! That's tee-rific. But what's it for?

- You use it to catch things. Watch.

Yeeeee-haw!

[Cheering] - you did it!

- Thank you! Thank you!

All right, jasper fella, here's a lasso.

You practice your lasso spinning,

And I'll be back soon! - Ok,

Let me try to spin this lasso.

One, two, three, spin!

Almost... Ugh!

- Uh, I don't think you have it yet.

- Let me try again.

One, two, three, spin!

- Huh? - Did I do it right?

- Woof, nope.

- Aw, shucks. I thought I'd be able to spin this lasso,

But I can't! What can I do?

- Cue the sparkles, cue the music,

Princess presto to the rescue!

With my magic spelling wand I can spell the word "spin"

And help jasper spin his lasso.

Ready? Spell with me!

What letter makes the sound "sss"?

- [Kids]: s!

- S! Wands up! Write a lowercase s with me!

Like a little snake.

[Magical chiming]

Now, what letter makes the sound "puh"?

- [Kids]: p!

- P! Write a lowercase p with me, like this.

[Magical chiming]

Now, what letter makes the "i" sound?

- [Kids]: i!

- An i! I is a vowel!

Let's write a lowercase i.

[Magical chiming]

And finally, what letter makes the sound "nnn"?

- [Kids]: n!

- N! Let's write a lowercase n!

[Magical chiming]

S-p-i-n. "Spin."

Presto!

- Whoa, whoa, wa-hoo!

Look at me spin the lasso!

Yee-haw! Yeah!

- Well, I'll be! [Jasper laughing]

- Spectacular spelling! We spelled "spin"

And helped jasper spin his lasso!

Let's take a bow.

[Horse neighs]

- Now that is a mighty fine spin, jasper!

- Thanks! - This way!

- You see more super letters? Which ones?

- [Kids]: o! H!

- O and h!

Now we need to put them in our super duper...

- [Whyatt and kids]: computer!

- One more super letter, and then we'll get

Our super story answer!

Nice work, super readers!

- So, cowboy cal,

Am I a cowboy yet?

- Well, I'll be a toe-tappin',

Corn-eatin', fly-swattin' cowpoke!

- Sooo... Yes?

- Uh... No.

You've got one more thing to do before you become

A rompin' stompin' cowboy: you have to save the day!

- Save the day? Excellent! How do I do that?

[Horse neighing] - help! Help, help!

Uh, my-my-my horse! My horse!

He's, he's headed for that mud hole!

If he doesn't stop, he'll fall in!

[They gasp] [horse neighs]

- Oh, no! - That's not good.

- What a shame! - Oh. My. Peas!

The horse is stuck in the mud! He needs to be saved!

- I'll save him!

I'm going to climb onto your back!

[Horse neighs] now, giddy-down!

Oh, what is it?! [Horse neighs]

Giddyup! [Horse neighs]

Oh...

- Oh, dear. You climbed onto the horse,

And now you're both stuck in the giant mud puddle!

- But I have to climb on the horse!

That's what my story says. See?

"Jasper climbs on the horse." [Horse neighs]

But that didn't help.

What can I do?

- Super why to the rescue!

With the power to read, I can change this story

And save the day!

Let's change the words "climbs on"

In this sentence. Zap!

Why writer, write!

What word will help jasper save the horse?

"Waves", "pulls", or "kisses"?

 Let's try the word "pulls".

Which is the word "pulls"? It has two l's.

- [Kids]: that one!

- There's the word "pulls". Zzzap!

Let's read our new sentence.

"Jasper pulls the horse."

[Horse neighs] - I'm on the horse...

I'm spinning the lasso...

Come on, horsey! I'll pull you out!

[Horse neighs] wa-hoo! I saved the horse!

- Did the word "pulls" help jasper save the horse?

- [Kids]: yes! - Super job, super readers!

We changed the story and saved the day!

- Woof, woof, wa-hoo!

[Cal gasps] - jasper, you saved the day!

You pulled the horse out of the mud.

You're a real hero!

And for that I officially declare you... A cowboy!

- Yes! I'm a cowboy!

With a cowboy hat and everything!

Yeeee-haw!

- You see our last super letter?

Which one?

- [Kids]: r!

- R! Let's put it in our super duper...

- [Whyatt and kids]: computer!

- We found all of our super letters!

Now we can get our super story answer!

- Thanks for your help, super readers!

- You're welcome. - Bye, cowboy jasper!

- Goodbye, all y'all! - Yee-haw!

- Woof! - Whyflyers!

Back to the book club! Come on, woofster!

- Woof!

- ♪ We found the super story answer ♪

[Magical chiming]

[Computer beeping]

- Super duper computer, give us our super story answer!

Hero! The super story answer is "hero".

[Fireworks]

But why?

- Because cowboy jasper was a hero and saved the horse!

And being a hero is something cowboys do!

- So my question is: what else can cowboys do?

- And your answer is:

- [All]: hero!

- Yeah, a cowboy can be a hero!

Come on! Let's go play cowboys

So I can be a hero and save the day!

- Let's get back to our cowboy game!

- Woof!

Help! I need help!

My sheep is stuck, uh, in this tree!

- Don't worry, cowgirl red riding hood!

I'm a cowboy hero, and I'm coming to save the day!

Giddyup, horsey!

- Yee-haw, cowboy pig, you can do it!

- Woof! - You saved the sheep! My hero

- Hurray! - Woof, woof, woof!Aa

- Hip, hip, hurray! The super readers save the day!
