Family Sports Day.

[meowing]

-Four! Five! -[giggling]

-[Crystal]: One! Two! Three! -Ah-ha!

-Four! Five! -Crystal, wanna play?

I can't, Rosie. [breathing heavily]

I'm getting ready.

Okay, I'll get ready too!

-[panting] -Crystal?

Yes, Rosie?

What are we getting ready for?

[exhales] Don't you remember what today is? It's--

Iggy birthday!

-No, it's-- -Wosie birthday!

Uh-uh.

Gatita birthday!

[confused meowing]

[giggling]

Here, I'll give you a hint.

Ta-da!

[gasps] It's Family Sports Day!

I'll get Mom and Dad so we can get started.

Family Sports Day is the best day ever!

'Cause I love sports. And I love my family.

And I love when there's a day that has all those things

smooshed up in one!

[giggling]

I wonder what sport we're gonna play today?

I've gotta know!

[giggling]

♪ I have a great big question

♪ And I just can't let it go

♪ Yo quiero saberlo

♪ I really gotta know

Hmm...

What sport will it be?

Maybe...

♪ How 'bout a riding race on a blue and speckled horse ♪

♪ Or skateboarding with unicorns on an obstacle course ♪

[unicorn neighing]

♪ A tennis game played on surfboards at sea ♪

♪ A giant red dolphin as our referee ♪

That would be sports-tastical.

[whistle blowing]

Happy Family Sports Day!

[giggling]

Who's ready for una tarde de fútbol?!

[both]: Yay!

I love soccer!

Iggy love fútbol too!

Who's excited to play some basketball?!

-Yay, basketball! -Yay!

I'm confused. Which sport are we playing?

Basketball or soccer?

Oh! Maybe we can play both. [giggling]

We can call it... basket-soccer!

[giggling] Whoa!

Rosie's Rule:

Basket-soccer is a very hard sport to play.

We don't have enough time to play both sports.

So I say... let's just play basketball.

No, no, fútbol!

[Mom]: Ugh, I want basketball. [Papá]: No, no, fútbol!

[Mom]: Basketball! [Papá]: Fútbol is the best!

-Basketball! -Fútbol!

Wait! I know how to decide what to play.

We can vote!

i¡Buena idea, Crystal!

Woo-hoo, yes! Let's vote.

Voting time, everyone!

Uh... How do we vote?

Well, first everyone will choose which sport they wanna play.

-[Papá chuckles] -Then the sport

that gets the most votes

is what we'll play for Family Sports Day!

That's wow-mazing!

Presenting, the Fuentes family vote!

-[cheering] -All right!

Woo-hoo!

All right, Fuentes family. Here we go.

Raise your hand if you want to play...

basketball!

-Hmm... -Oh, oh! Me!

[laughs] Okay.

Now raise your hand if you want to play...

soccer!

Oh, me again!

Me, me, me! Me!

Rosie, when you vote, you can only pick one thing.

One thing? But I like both sports.

And I like raising both my hands.

See?

Hmm, maybe we need to try voting a different way.

I've got it!

Okay, mijos, here's the idea.

[Papá]: If you want to play soccer,

you'll stand in this hoop.

And if you want to play basketball,

you'll stand in this hoop.

I'll go first. I'm voting for...

Fútbol!

-Yeah, woo-hoo! -[exclaiming]

I'm voting for...

Basketball!

-Yay! -Woo-hoo!

Well, I've been practicing my goalie skills.

So I'm going to vote for... soccer!

Yes!

i¡Rosie, te toca!

Yay, my turn!

I'm going to choose...

-Soccer! -[exclaiming]

-No, wait. Basketball! -Woo-hoo!

No... soccer! No, basketball!

Soccer! Basketball! Soccer! Basketball! Soccer!

[Rosie groaning]

Uh, Rosie?

Are you having trouble deciding what to vote for?

A little.

Iggy thirsty!

How about we take a water break? Then we can keep voting.

Good idea.

Picking a sport is harder than I thought.

[meowing]

I need to call Abuela!

[meowing]

[beeps]

[Rosie]: i¡Hola, Abuela!

i¡Hola, mi niña!

I'm at the Biblioteca Vasconcelos

looking for a new book to read.

[gasps] A book about soup!

[voice]: Shh!

[gasps]

[giggling]

¿Qué pasa mijita?

We're voting for what sport to play

for Family Sports Day.

But I can't figure out which one I wanna play!

Ya veo.

Sometimes when I'm trying to

choose between two things,

I like to try both.

Then I can see which one I like best!

Both? That's a good idea!

Oh, it's my turn to check out. i¡Adiós, granito de arroz!

i¡Ciao, bacalao!

I'm gonna try both sports, and see which one I like best!

First, soccer!

She kicks one way, she kicks the other way,

she passes the ball.

[Rosie]: Set me up, Gatita!

[meowing]

-[grunting] -[meowing]

Goal! And the crowd goes wild! "Yay! Yay! Woo!"

[giggling]

Rosie's Rule: If you're gonna play soccer,

it helps to have a fluffy teammate.

Now I'll try basketball.

She dribbles, she throws the ball into the air...

Woo-hoo!

Everyone!

I know what I'm going to vote for!

-You do? -¿Cuál?

What is it?

I'm gonna vote for...

Don't keep us in suspense!

Basketball!

-Woo-hoo! -[giggling]

Yes!

There's just one more vote left.

Iggy, what do you vote for?

Iggy vote for...

-Tita! -[meowing]

[laughing]

Gatita isn't a sport, Iggy!

You have to vote for soccer or basketball.

Iggy want... soccer!

-Yay! -[laughing]

-Yes! -i¡Eso!

So what happens now?

Now we count the votes. And the majority wins!

What?! Who is Majority? And why does she get to win?

Majority means "the most".

Whatever sport gets the majority of votes,

that's the sport we'll play.

Well that's new information!

So what's the majority for our vote?

We have one, two for basketball.

And we have one, two, three for soccer.

Three is more than two. Así es que... soccer wins!

-Go soccer! -[cheering]

Oh, yeah! The winner! Is soccer! Oh yeah--

What? Wait a secamadoodle! The winner is soccer?!

That's right. Come on, let's set up for the game!

I finally picked what sport I wanted to play

and now that sport didn't win and--

I need to flop.

[sighing]

Breathe in... [inhaling]

Breathe out... [exhaling]

Wiggle about.

Now I'm ready to figure this out.

i¡Vamos a ver!

You okay, Rosie Posie?

I really wanted basketball to win.

I know. But voting keeps things fair.

Sometimes your vote wins, and sometimes it doesn't.

The important thing is you got to make a choice.

It was fun to vote. And now that we voted...

We get to have Family Sports Day!

I'm ready to play!

Let the fútbol game... begin!

[whistle blowing]

Over here!

[giggling]

[grunting]

-[meowing] -[grunting]

Hooway!

-Yay! Woo-hoo! -[exclaiming]

[laughing]

[grunting]

Yippee!

i¡Muy bien!

Good game, everyone!

Oh, can we have lunch now?

All that soccer playing made me hungry.

Iggy so hungwy!

Let's see, I can make grilled cheese or quesadillas.

I know... let's vote!

[both]: Yay!

♪ Voting is a super way

♪ For everyone to have their say ♪

♪ I can use my voice and make a choice ♪

♪ A decision will be made today ♪

♪ Everyone can vote and everyone can choose ♪

♪ Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose ♪

♪ But voting is the way

♪ For everyone to have their say ♪

Hooray!

♪ Should we go to the beach or go to the zoo ♪

♪ Let's take a vote and we'll know what to do ♪

♪ We can vote again on what to have for lunch ♪

♪ A gooey grilled cheese or a tostada crunch ♪

♪ There's something that we need to decide ♪

♪ But we can't seem to make up our minds ♪

♪ So voting is the way

♪ For everyone to have their say ♪

[all]: Hooray!

Presenting... quesadillas!

-[exclaiming] -Hooray!

Rosie's Rule:

Voting is a way for everyone to make a choice.

And eating lunch is a way to celebrate

a supertastical day with your family.

[giggling]

Mmm! Yum, yum, yum!

The Cake-Off!

Whoa!

One, two, three, four, five, six.

There you go, Mr. Fuentes. Six delicious cinnamon buns.

[sniffs] Mmm... I love cinnamon buns.

They're so sweet and fluffy and yummy in my tummy.

So... can I put one in my tummy?

[chuckles] You'll have to wait until we get home, mija.

They're for the whole family.

Of course I do have samples here that you can have.

[Papá chuckles]

As long as it's okay with the baker.

You're the baker, Baker Calvin!

So I am!

Bon appétit!

[both]: Mmm...

Rosie's Rule:

Sharing a cinnamon bun with my papá is dee-yummy.

Baker Calvin, what's that?

Well, that's a flyer for the cake decorating contest.

A cake decorating contest?

That's right. We're having it here at the bakery later today!

[sighs] I love baking cakes. And decorating them.

Papá, you should enter the contest!

-Me? -Yes!

And I can be your baker helper-outer!

You mean my assistant?

I can be that too!

[laughing]

So... can we be in the contest?

You bet we're going to be in this contest!

-Woo-hoo! -[laughing]

I wonder what kind of cake we should make?

I've gotta know!

♪ And I just can't let it go

What kind of cake should we make?

Maybe...

♪ We make a giant cake that reaches to the sky ♪

♪ Or a cupcake treasure chest with prizes inside ♪

♪ An outer space cake that looks like the moon ♪

♪ And floats in the air like a great big balloon ♪

That would be wow-mazing.

[Papá]: Vamos, mija,

we'd better get home and start baking!

[cheerful music]

Phew!

[dinging]

[Rosie]: Mmm!

Here we are at the cake off.

This is so exciting! Look at all the cakes!

Look at all of the cake decorators.

Don't worry, Marco. You and Rosie totally got this.

Yeah, we're Team Fuentes!

I like that! Team Fuentes is Fuen-tastic!

Hi, Rosie! Are you in the contest?

Yes, with my Papá. We're Fuen-tastic!

My mom and I are Liu-mazing!

[giggling]

[Baker Calvin]: Ladies and gentle bakers...

welcome to the cake decorating contest!

[cheering]

Today, you will see many stupendous cake decorations.

But only one cake will be the winner!

But how will we know who wins?

We're going to vote! This is called a ballot.

When it's time to vote, everyone will circle the cake

they think has the best decoration.

Then they'll drop it in the ballot box, like so!

Ah! Where'd it go?

[Iggy]: Beep, beep! Vroom, vroom, vroom!

Whoopsie! Looks like Iggy's trying to drive the ballot box.

There you go, Baker Calvin.

[chuckles] Thanks, Mrs. Fuentes.

All right, decorators. The contest starts...

Now!

Okay, mija.

How about I put on the icing

and you put on the sprinkles?

Got it, Papá!

Ooh, nice. Very nice!

-Whoops. -Ooh!

Ay! Sorry, Baker Calvin!

Mmm. [chuckles]

Rosie's Rule:

Icing should be used to decorate cakes. Not bakers.

[Baker Calvin]: Two more minutes!

Uh-oh. Gotta go.

-[giggling] -[grunting]

Yes! Over here, over here.

[Baker Calvin]: Ten seconds, everyone!

[both]: Ten seconds?!

[Baker Calvin]: Five, four, three, two, one!

-[timer ringing] -[Baker Calvin]: Time's up!

Whew! [gasps]

Let's see these magnificent cakes!

Well, I adore hearts,

so I decorated my cake with oodles of little heart candies!

Love it!

I'm a big fan of hot-air balloons,

so I decorated my cake with one!

Very nice!

-[cheering] -Yay!

My mom and I decorated our cake with lots of pretty flowers.

It looks like our garden, but on a cake!

Wow!

It's our turn, mija!

My Papá and I made a sprinkle cake!

With extra-tastical sprinkles.

-[audience applauding] -Ooh!

All right! You've seen all of the cakes.

Now, it's time to vote! Remember,

choose the cake you think has the best decoration.

Then fill out your ballot and put it in this ballot b--

What?!

Vroom, vroom-vroom!

Sorry, Baker Calvin.

Who knew your ballot box could be a race car today!

[chuckles] Let the voting begin!

Now that everyone has voted,

it's time to count the votes!

And the cake with the most votes wins!

One vote for... the sprinkle cake!

That's our cake!

One vote for... the flower cake!

Yay for mom and me!

Is that all of the ballots?

I think so.

Hello, any ballots still in here?

Nope, that's all of 'em. Crystal, what have we got?

Okay, the balloon cake has three votes.

The heart cake has four votes.

The sprinkles cake has five votes.

And the flower cake also has five votes.

[Rosie]: Hey, Jun! We both got five votes!

Woo-hoo! Yippee! Yah--

Wait a cake-amadoodle.

If our cake got five votes, and their cake got five votes,

who's the winner?

There is no winner... yet.

When two things get the same number of votes,

it's called a tie.

A tie? So nobody wins?

Now we'll never know who won the contest

and we'll never know who gets to put their cake

in the bakery window and--

I need to flop. [sighing]

Breathe in... [inhaling]

Breathe out... [exhaling]

Wiggle about!

Now I'm ready to figure this out.

i¡Vamos a ver!

Hmm...

[gasps] I need to call Abuela!

[beeps]

I'm at the ferretería looking for a new flashlight.

Whoa! Too bright!

¿Qué pasa?

We're at the cake decorating contest

and there's a tie!

Now we don't have a winner!

Ya veo. Well, Rosalía, when there's a tie,

the best thing to do is vote again!

Vote again? That's a great idea!

Ah-ha! This is the flashlight for me.

i¡Adiós, granito de arroz!

i¡Ciao, bacalao!

[beeps]

Everyone! If there's a tie, we can vote again!

[Baker Calvin]: Grab your pencils,

we're voting again!

But this time everyone will vote

for only the flower cake or the sprinkle cake.

And just like before,

you'll circle the cake you want to vote for.

And then you'll drop it in the ballot box, like--

What?!

Let me guess.

[giggling]

Iggy love box!

[chuckles] The box is all yours, little Iggy,

right after we vote, okay?

Okay. [giggling]

Let the voting begin! Again!

So, who won the tie?

Let's see. The flower cake has votes.

And the sprinkle cake has votes.

That means the winner is...

[imitating trumpet]

The sprinkle cake!

Mama macaroni.

Did he just say the sprinkle cake won?

Yes, mija! Our cake won the contest!

-Yay! -Congratulations, team Fuentes!

Thank you!

[giggling] Way to go, you two!

-[giggling] -Good job, Rosie!

Hey, maybe we can decorate a cake together sometime.

[gasps] That would be fun!

But should we use sprinkles or flowers?

I dunno. Maybe we can vote.

Yeah! And if there's a tie, we'll vote again!

[giggling]

[all]: All right!

♪ If four people vote and it's tied at two and two ♪

♪ We get to vote again

[all]: Yeah, that's what we do!

♪ We get to do it all again when there's a tie ♪

♪ If we find the count is tied

♪ Everybody gets to have another try ♪

♪ When there is a tie

♪ We can take another vote to decide ♪

Rosie's Rule:

When there's a tie, you can vote again!

[Iggy]: Vroom!

[giggling]

And after you vote,

you can turn the ballot box into a race car.

All right, mis niños.

It's time for a Fuen-tastic day at the lake.

[all]: i¡Lixtos!

-Iggy, why are wearing your PJs? -Iggy like PJs.

I know but you can't wear PJs to the lake.

Let's get you changed.

Swim shorts on, no PJs.

¿Listos, Calixtos?

[all]: i¡Lixtos!

Wait, I forgot my swim goggles!

[Crystal]: Not here... not here...

-[crashing] -[meowing]

-Got 'em! -Muy bien.

[Papá]: Swim shorts on, goggles grabbed...

¿Listos, Calixtos?

[all]: i¡Lixtos!

Papá, did you pack my floaties?

i¡Ay! I forgot. They're in the garage.

[Papá]: Swim shorts on, goggles grabbed, floaties found.

¿Listos, Calixtos?

[all]: i¡Lixtos!

Where's Lote?

Ay, no...

Lote, where are you?

Here?

[grunting]

Lote!

[Papá]: Swim shorts on, goggles grabbed,

floaties found, Lote located.

¿Listos, Calixtos?

[all]: i¡Lixtos!

Let's go to the lake! i¡Vámonos!

[meowing]

[purring]
