Tally ho!

Squeeks: Daisy's Wildflower Roundup

Nature Cat: Tally wah-hoooo!

I'm the Nature Cat Kid!

A cowpoke of the wild west and I'm looking for a wild

nature adventure, I reckon'!

Squeeks: Just call me Sundown Squeeks!

And I'm always lookin' for a wild nature adventure!

Hal: Neigh! Neigh!

Neeeeeiiiiigh, baby!

Nature Cat: Uh, Hal, don't you want to be

an authentic western cowpoke?

Hal: Nope!

I want to be an authentic western horse-poke!

NEEEEIGH!

Nature Cat: You gotta love Hal.

Hey, where's Daisy?

Daisy: Somebody a-lookin' for me?

All: Wild Daisy Knickknack!

Daisy: And I know exactly what our wild west adventure's

gonna be!

All: What?

Daisy: Today we're gonna look for something really wild!

Squeeks: Wild horses?

Nature Cat: Wild buffalo?

Hal: Wild unicorns?

Daisy: Nope, none of those wild things!

Today, we're lookin' for Wild Flowers!

Squeeks: Daisy, how can flowers be wild?

It's a flower.

Daisy: How can flowers be wild?!

Man-oh-man, wildflowers can grow

without anyone even planting 'em!

Nature Cat: Noooo!

Daisy: Oh yeah!

And those flowers can grow almost anywhere!

That's what makes 'em so wild!

Now let's go on a Wild Flower Round-Up?

Yee-haw!

All: Yee-haw!

Squeeks: So what wildflowers are we looking for today,

Wild Daisy Knickknack?

Daisy: We're gonna round up THREE of the wildest wild

flowers this side of the Mississippi!

Okay, actually, both sides!

And the first wildflower is this here Buttercup!

Squeeks: Oh! Buttercups!

Well if there's buttercups then cheese cups can't be

too far away, right?

Where's the cheese cups?

Cheese. Cheese!

Daisy: Nope! We're rounding up a buttercup!

Nature Cat: Ooh! Look at the five shiny, yellow petals!

Like a sheriff's badge!

Daisy: Yep, those five shiny yellow petals will help us know

if we've got the right flower!

Now come on, cowpokes, time to find us some wildflowers!

Yee-haw!

All: YEE-HAW!

Hal: Where to, Wild Daisy?

Daisy: Well, says here that you can find buttercups in meadows!

Hal: Okay then... Wagon train, ho!

Daisy: Yee-haw!

All: Yee-haw!

Hal: Anybody see a buttercup yet?

Daisy: Not yet, Buckaroo, but keep your eyes peeled,

that buttercup could be anywhere!

Nature Cat: Oooh!

I see a yellow flower!

Over yonder!

Squeeks: Is it a buttercup?

Hal: Alright, well let's see here.

This flower has yellow petals.

Daisy: Man oh man.

It's not a buttercup.

Look the leaves are different!

All: AWWWW!

Nature Cat: We've searched this entire meadow, Wild Daisy,

and there's nary a buttercup to be found, I reckon!

Daisy: Well, it says here that

buttercups can be found almost anywhere!

Squeeks: Huh!

You know the other day I think I saw some yellow flowers growing

out of the sidewalk.

Nature Cat: The sidewalk?!

That's impossible, Squeeks!

Flowers can't grow out of the sidewalk!

Squeeks: No! It's true!

I'll show you.

Squeeks: Behold!

The yellow flowers growing out of the sidewalk!

Nature Cat: How do they do that?

Daisy: Well, I reckon there's enough dirt in that cr*ck

for the seed to take root!

Now, let's see if this here flower is a buttercup!

Nature Cat: Let's see, it has five shiny yellow petals

and the leaves look just like the ones in the picture...

Daisy: Boy howdy!

These here are buttercups!

Yee-haw!

All: Yee-haw!

Nature Cat: What are we waiting for?

Let's pick 'em!

Daisy: Whoa! Hold it right there, Bushwacker!

Hal: (whispers) Don't you mean flowerwacker?

Daisy: Yeah, that too!

Nature Cat: What's wrong, Daisy?

Daisy: We don't pick wildflowers!

Squeeks: Daisy...why not?

Daisy: Because a flower is the part of the plant that makes it

possible for another plant to grow next year.

The flowers make seeds!

So if we pick this buttercup, there may not be any buttercups

here next year.

Squeeks: Well, if we're not going to pick the wildflowers,

then how are we going to get the wildflowers?

Daisy: We're gonna do what all good cowpokes do.

We're gonna draw!

All: Ooooh!

Daisy: Alright, Nature Cat Kid, gimmee a "ready, set, draw!"

Nature Cat: Ready,

set,

draw!

All: Wow!

Hal: How did you do that so fast?

Daisy: Wild Daisy Knickknack is the fastest draw in the West!

Yee-haw!

All: Yee-haw!

Daisy: Now it's time for the next flower in our roundup!

The Blue Violet!

Nature Cat: Oooh! Look!

The blue violet has blue petals

Hal: Ohh, and the leaves are heart shaped...

AWWW! I love you, blue violet!

Daisy: Says here that Blue Violets

can be found in damp places,

maybe near a river or lake.

So let's mosey on over to the river!

Yee-haw!

All: Yee-haw!

Nature Cat: (sigh) We haven't seen a blue violet anywhere!

This is hard!

Squeeks: I don't understand, if you like wildflowers so much,

why don't you just grow them in your own garden?

Daisy: I tried!

But those hornswaggling flowers wouldn't grow where

I wanted them to grow!

It seems you just can't tame 'em!

Those wildflowers were born to be wild!

Hal: Ohh! This is hopeless!

We'll never find the Blue Violet!

Daisy: Balderdash!

Cowpokes never give up!

They check their phones for more clues instead.

Says here orange fritillary butterflies deposit

their eggs on blue violets.

So if we want to find the Blue Violet...we just need to follow

an orange butterfly that has black spots!

Nature Cat: Okay, fellow cowpokes,

keep those eyes peeled and stay focused.

Daisy: Focused!

Squeeks: Focused!

Hal: Teedley-dee, teedley-dee, hee hee hee!

Teedley-dee.

Nature Cat: Hal? You looking?

Hal: Nope, just frolicking with this here orange butterfly!

Teedley-dee, teedley frolic...wait?

Nature Cat: Orange! Black spots!

It's the butterfly!

All: YEE-HAW!

Nature Cat: Giddy-up, Hal!

You authentic western horse-poke!

Follow that butterfly!

Squeeks: Don't let it get away, Hal!

Hal: I'm trying!

I'm trying! Whooooaaa!

Squeeks: That little butterfly is above those wildflowers!

Daisy: Is it the Blue Violet?

Nature Cat: It has five petals on the flower.

Hal: And its leaves are shaped like cute hearts!

Daisy: We found the Blue Violet!

Yee-haw!

All: Yee-haw!

Squeeks: Now let's add this Blue Violet to the Round-Up!

Nature Cat: Ready, set, draw!

Hal: Well, you really are the fastest draw in the west,

Wild Daisy!

Daisy: Why thank you!

Now it's time to find the final flower

of the wildflower round-up!

The Pink Lady Slipper!

Hal: (chewing) I got one of those!

Nature Cat: Uh, we're talking about the single flower, buddy.

Hal: But it's kinda shaped like a slipper!

Hey, maybe good to chew on too?

Daisy: No no, Hal!

No chewin' on these!

Cause these wildflowers are really hard to find!

Nature Cat: So where do we look for the Pink Lady Slipper,

Wild Daisy?

Daisy: Says here they grow in shady places.

Like pine forests!

Squeeks: Well then, let's get to the Pine Forest

and find that Pink Lady Slipper!

Nature Cat: Onward and Pink Lady Slipper-ward!

Squeeks: How could a flower grow where it's so shady?

Don't they need the sun?

Daisy: Hmmm...I reckon it does well with less sunlight.

But you sure wouldn't expect to find a wildflower here!

Maybe that's why I've never seen one before.

(laughs)

(screams)

Daisy: What's wrong, cowpoke?

Nature Cat: There's something wild rustling

in the shadows.

Hal: Maybe it's a wild bear!

Squeeks: Or a wild boar!

Nature Cat: Or a wild snake!!

Ronald: Oh hello, Nature Cat.

Nature Cat: Hello, Ronald...

Wait, Ronald?!

What are you doing here?

Ronald: Not that it's any of your business,

but I'm here to pick all of the Pink Lady Slippers!

I love them because they are so rare!

Toodles to the oodles! Bye.

Nature Cat: No, wait, Ronald!

Daisy: Looks like Ronald's a flower rustler!

Hurry, cowpokes, we need to find that Pink Lady Slipper

before Ronald does.

Nature Cat: Quick! Look for anything pink!

Hal: Here's a pink flower!

But it looks like a bell, not a slipper!

Both: Found it!

Both: The Pink Lady Slipper!

All: It's so beautiful!

Ronald: That's why I have to pick it!

Daisy: Hold it right there, pardner!

Don't you pick that flower!

Ronald: And why not, Daisy?

Daisy: Because if we pick this one,

we keep it from producing next year's pink lady slippers.

And there'd be no pink lady slipper here.

Ronald: Well then I'd better pick this one quick,

while I still have the chance!

Daisy: Alright, Ronald, if you want this here flower,

you'll have to draw for it.

Ronald: Draw for it?

Daisy: The first one to draw the flower wins!

Ronald: If I win, I pick the flower?!

Daisy: Yep! But if I win, you don't!

Nature Cat: What do you say, Ronald?

Are you up for the challenge?

Ronald: I say...

Ronald: ...Let's draw!

Nature Cat: Ready!

Set!

DRAW!

Ronald: How did you do that?!

Daisy: I'm Wild Daisy Knickknack,

and I'm the fastest draw in the west!

Squeeks: Wild Daisy is the winner!

Hal: And the wild flowers are saved!

Yee-haw!

All: YEE-HAW!

Ronald: Aww!

I wanted that flower so badly!

It's so beautiful!

Daisy: Here's something that will last much longer

than the flower itself.

Ronald: My first piece of art!

I love it!

I can't wait to hang it my room!

Thanks, Daisy!

Daisy: All right, cowpokes, the Wildflower Round-Up is done!

Now it's time for us to mosey off into the sunset

like all good cowpokes do!

All: Yee-haw!

Daisy: A Party For Squeeks

Nature Cat: This is going to be incredible!

Daisy: I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Hal: Woo-hoo for winter, baby!

Nature Cat: May I introduce...

Mr. Gerald Mudman.

Daisy: He fits right in with the rest of our snow creatures!

Hal: Here's Clark the Bunny....

Hal: (as Clark) Hi, I'm Clark.

Hal: ...This is Ellen the Toad...say "hi" Ellen.

Hal: (as Ellen) Hello.

Hal: ... and Eddie the majestic snow eagle...eagle...eagle...

Hal: (as Eddie) Hello... hello...hello...hello...

Squeeks: (sigh)

Nature Cat: Hey! What's wrong, Squeeks?

Daisy: Why don't you join us?

There's still plenty of snow to play with!

Squeeks: That's the problem!

We've made every snow fort, snow creature

and snow angel possible!

It's been winter FOREVER and I'm... I'm...

I'M SICK OF WINTER!

All: (gasps)

Hal: "Sick of winter"?

But it's one of the four greatest seasons!

Squeeks: Oh, Hal,

I love playing outside with you guys,

but I also miss all my other friends who have been gone

all winter.

Where are the chipmunks!

Where are the orioles!

The geese!

Even Edna the eagle headed to the coast

where it's easier to find food!

Daisy: Aw, Squeeks.

I'm so sorry you're sad.

Hal: Perhaps a snowball would cheer you up?

Squeeks: No thank you, Hal.

I think I just have to be alone for a little while.

Daisy: Let's huddle up!

Nature Cat: I've never seen Squeeks like this!

Hal: Me neither either neither never!

Daisy: (gasp) I think Squeeks has...

the Winter Blues!

Hal: OF COURSE!

The winter blues!

What are the Winter Blues?

Is that like jazz?

Cuz I don't get jazz. Like at all.

Daisy: No, Hal.

Granny Bunny told me that the short days,

cold weather and bare, brown trees can sometimes make you

feel sad or less energetic in the winter.

Nature Cat: Poor Squeeks!

What can we do to help?

Hal: I know what to do - why don't we just ask the sun

to shine longer each day!

Excuse me, sun.

Hi, yeah, down here, it's me Hal.

Daisy: Actually, the sun has already been shining a little

longer each day since the Winter Solstice,

the shortest day of the year.

Hal: Oh. Okay. Never mind.

As you were, sun.

Nature Cat: Wait! Squeeks is sick of winter, right?

But look-- winter is on its way out.

Right?

So let's throw Squeeks an end-of-winter party to remind

her of all the things she loves about winter, right?!

Daisy: That's a great idea, Nature Cat!

Nature Cat: Let's go plan a party for Squeeks!

Right?!

All: For Squeeks!

Daisy: Uh guys...

where are we going?

Nature Cat: I thought you were leading us

to find some party guests. Right?

Daisy: I thought YOU were leading us.

Hal: I thought I was leading us!

Daisy: So... do any of us know where to find some friends

to come to the party?

Nature Cat: I know what to do!

Let's see... I have binoculars, a bird caller...

this thing that will pick up sound for miles...

Hal: Maybe we could follow these tracks.

They're sure to lead to something - or someone!

Nature Cat: Um...sure!

I suppose that works too.

Ruthie: Hi guys!

Nature Cat: Ruthie!

Hal: Hi, Ruthie!

It's me, Halie!

Ruthie: How y'all doing?

Hey... where's Squeeks?

I miss that mouse.

Daisy: That's why we're here.

Squeeks has the Winter Blues!

So we're trying to cheer her up with a party.

Ruthie: Well, she won't have the winter blues for long.

Spring will be here soon enough!

You should show her this!

Nature Cat: Those are beautiful, Ruthie!

Do you think you can bring some to the party?

Ruthie: You betcha!

Daisy: Ooh! One more thing--

Is Edna the eagle back from the coast yet?

I know Squeeks would love to see her too.

Ruthie: Nope! Haven't seen her, but I'll see you later!

Nature Cat: Alright!

We've got one guest, but we're gonna need to find a lot more

if this party's gonna cheer up Squeeks!

Let's see who else we can find.

Nature Cat: Have no fear, I have the tools!

Daisy: Ooo! More tracks!

Let's follow them!

Nature Cat: Oh, right. The tracks!

That worked last time... Onward and yonward!

Hal: Hey... where'd the tracks go?

Daisy: That's strange.

They disappeared down this hole.

Nature Cat: Hello?

Is anyone in here?

Marvin: Howdy, Nature Cat!

It's great to see you!

Hal: Hi, Marvin!

It's me - Halvin!

Marvin: Well howdy, Hal. Hey!

Where's cousin Squeeks?

Doesn't she usually hang out with y'all?

Daisy: Oh yea, but Squeeks has the Winter Blues

so we're planning a party for her.

Marvin: Well golly that's a good idea!

It has been a loooong winter and we could all use a party.

Nature Cat: Who's 'We' Cousin Marvin?

(whistles)

Daisy: Man, oh man!

You've been here all winter?

We didn't even see you.

Marvin: We sure have, Daisy!

We might come out a little less to save our energy...

but we've been here.

You just have to look a little bit harder to find us!

Nature Cat: Spectacular!

So you can all come to our party?

Marvin: Now that winter's almost over - we sure can!

Anything for Cousin Squeeks!

(cheers)

Squeeks: (groans) Oh winter, why? Why?!!

It's cold and dark and grey!!

Every where you look is pine!!

It's all pine!!

When will it end?!

Nature Cat: This party will be winter-iffic!

Daisy: Yeah!

And if Edna the eagle could come.

That would definitely cheer up Squeeks.

Nature Cat: (gasp) Could that be Edna?

Hal: Maybe that's her nest.

Daisy: But isn't it too early for birds to build their nests?

It's not spring yet!

Nature Cat: I don't know.

But I'm the cat that's gonna find out.

Upward and yupward!

Daisy: Uhh...That nest is pretty high, Nature Cat.

Are you sure?

Nature Cat: We've got to try, Daisy.

For Squeeks!

Both: FOR SQUEEKS!

Nature Cat: Oof! Well that didn't work..

Hal: Are you OK, Nature Cat?

Nature Cat: I'm going to climb you, tree.

If it's the last thing I do.

TALLY HO!

Daisy: Wait!

Nature Cat: Daisy!

We need to get up that tree to find Edna.

Daisy: Maybe there's an easier way...

Daisy: Oh look!

There's still some snow over there.

Daisy: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Nature Cat: I'm definitely thinking what you're thinkin!

Hal: Um...

I don't think I'm thinking what you're thinking. At all.

Cuz I'm not thinking. At all.

Daisy: Hal, we can roll the snow near the tree and then use it as

a step to get up to that branch.

Hal: Oh! Now that was some good thinking.

I think!

Nature Cat: Edna, here we come!

All: (gasps)

Nature Cat: Hey! You're not Edna!

Cleo: No, I'm Cleo.

Hoo-Whooooo are you?

Hal: Hi, Cleo!

It's me - Hal-o!

Daisy: Sorry to barge in like this, Cleo.

We thought you were Edna the eagle.

We were hoping to find her to cheer up our friend Squeeks.

Cleo: Squeeks?!

I know Squeeks. Wait.

Why does she need cheering up?

Nature Cat: She has...

the Winter Blues and she's got it bad, man.

Cleo: Winter blues!

She should remember that there's lots of fun things to do at the

end of winter to get ready for spring.

I'm an early-bird when it comes to nesting!

I'm fixing up this place so I can lay my eggs soon.

All: AWWWWWWW!

Daisy: You should come to the party!

Cleo: Sure I will!

Anything to cheer up good ol' Squeeks!

Nature Cat: Thanks, Cleo!

Nature Cat: Look! There's Squeeks!

We have to set up the party before she gets back.

Everyone hurry!

(splat)

Nature Cat: Uck! Mud.

Why does it always have to be mud.

Daisy: Oh! Mud means the frozen ground is thawing!

Come on. Let's go!

Nature Cat: Squeeks is going to love this!

I just wish Edna could be here.

Daisy: That would cheer her up for sure!

Squeeks: Cheer who up?

All: Squeeks!

Squeeks: What's all this?

Nature Cat: We're throwing you a par-tay!

Hal: With lots of friends!

Squeeks; Oh cool...so by 'friends' do you mean these

creatures made of snow?

You know they're not real, right?

All: Woo-hoo!

Hey Squeeks!

How ya doing?

What's up, Buttercup?

Ruthie: Aww Squeeks it's so good to see you!

Squeeks: Woah! Where did all you guys come from?

Marvin: Your friends told us you had the Winter Blues

so we wanted to cheer you up.

Squeeks: This is fantastic!

(upbeat music)

Squeeks: Woo! This party couldn't get any better!

Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

Squeeks: Edna!

Edna: Squeeks!

I just got back from the coast and word in the forest is that

you have the Winter Blues.

Squeeks: I am a little sick of winter.

Edna: I think I know how to fix that.

Hop on!

Nature Cat: Have fun, Squeeks!

We'll just stay down here on the nice, safe ground.

Can't wait to hear all about your trip.

AAAAAHHHHHHHH! I'm flying!!

Squeeks: Whoa!

Look how cool every- thing is from up here.

The ice is breaking up!

The pond looks so different from when it was frozen over.

Nature Cat: Ooh.

The ice patches make such a pretty pattern.

Ah, my dearst winter.

T'will be over soon. Aye-what?

Edna: Looks like the robins are searching for some food.

Squeeks: Hello robins!

Enjoy your lunch, okay!

Squeeks: Oh deer!

Nature Cat: 'Oh dear'?! OH DEAR?! Why?

What's happening? Are we falling?

Squeeks: Nature Cat, no, open your eyes and look at the deer

down there.

It's deer. D-E-E-R.

Nature Cat: Huh. That is very nice.

It looks like there's a lot more going on this time of year

than we thought!

Squeeks: Yeah...

The end of winter isn't so bad after all.

Edna: That's more like it, Squeeks!

Now let's go dance!

(upbeat dance music)

Nature Cat: Thank you for the ride, Edna.

It was quite nice to feel the wind in my fur.

Squeeks: This is the best party ever!

You make ALL the seasons fun.

Hal: Let's DANCE, baby!

Marvin: Woo-hoo! Golly!

Dancin' the blues away!

Hey, you're lookin' good!
