-[ Gasps ] The rain stopped!

-[ Gasps ] Time to play outside!

-[ Laughs ] Hee-haw!

-[ Sighs ] Okay.

What do you want to do today, Donkey?

Uh, Donkey?

-Panda, are you seeing what I'm seeing?

-Huh?

-A golden rainbow! -A golden rainbow!

-Never seen one before.

-They only show up in Someplace Else

on very special days.

-Oh, I knew today felt special.

-And do you want to know something else,

something so hee-hawesome about golden rainbows?

-Uh, yes. Yes, I do.

-I heard that at the end of every golden rainbow...

-Yeah?

-...is a bowl of Golden Crunchdoodles.

[ Both gasp ]

-You mean the most deliciously golden

crispy crunchiest cereal

of all time... -Uh-huh.

-...is at the end of the rainbow?

-Uh-huh!

-Is it true?

-Is it true? Is it true?!

Well, I don't know,

but it sure would be fun to find out.

-Uh, yeah, it would. Let's go and see.

-We, Donkey Hodie...

-And Purple Panda.

...will go on a super fun quest...

-To the end of the rainbow!

-To the Golden Crunchdoodles!

♪ Doo doo-doo doo! ♪

-Just got to keep following the rainbow above us until the end.

-Oh, I can't wait till we get there.

-Mm-hmm.

-But what if the Golden Crunchdoodles aren't there?

I'll be pretty disappointed.

Yeah, me too. Oh, but what if they are there, Panda?

What do you think they'll taste like?

-Oh, like -- like golden happy yumminess.

-Or like golden yummy happiness.

-Maybe both.

Whoa! -Ooh!

A wall?

Maybe we can get around it.

-Uh...hmm.

-Not that way, either.

-Oh, no. What are we gonna do?

If we can't get past this wall, we're gonna have to turn around.

And then we'll never know if the Golden Crunchdoodles

are at the end of the rainbow.

-We're not giving up, Panda.

We can find a way past this wall.

-Huh. -Hmm.

We can't go around it.

-And we can't go through it.

-But maybe we can go over it!

Come on, Panda. Time to climb.

-[ Grunts ]

-Alright. Almost at the top.

-[ Gasps ] Whoo-hoo!

Ohh! -[ Gasps ]

Whoa.

-Hey.

What's that sound? [ Objects twinkling ]

-Ah! I think it's coming from the Golden Rainbow.

-Did you know that the Golden Rainbow

made such beautiful music?

-No. We might be the first to ever hear it.

-Wow.

[ Gentle music plays ]

-Ah, well, we better get moving.

We are on a quest to the end of the rainbow!

-To the Golden Crunchdoodles!

-♪ Doo doo-doo doo! ♪

-Hah!

Maybe they taste more like crunchy golden loveliness.

-Oh, I'm thinking they taste

more like crunchy, lovely goldenness.

-Can't wait to find out. There's no stopping us now!

-Oh, what is this?

-It looks like a no-passing gate.

-But what are we gonna do?

If we can't get past, then we'll have to turn around.

Then we'll never know if the Golden Crunchdoodles

are at the end of the rainbow.

-We can't give up yet, Purple Panda, my pal.

There's got to be a way past this gate.

-There sure is a way!

It's time to play "The Middle of the Golden Rainbow Game"!

Mm-hmm! Uh-huh!

Hello, Donkey Hodie and Purple Panda.

-It's Gameshow Gator!

-Hi, Gator! What's going on?

-Well, you both are the new contestants

for the "Middle of the Golden Rainbow Game."

[ Both gasp ]

-We get to play a game?

-Oh, what do we win? What do we win?

-If you win, the gate goes up,

and you get to continue to the end of the Golden Rainbow.

-Oh, that's exactly what we want to do.

-Yeah. How do we play?

-I will ask you a question.

Answer it correctly, and the gate will open.

Mm-hmm.

-Okay, are you ready?

-Mm-hmm. -Okay.

Please name everything you like about the Golden Rainbow.

-Ah! [ Bell dings ]

-Donkey Hodie.

-I like how beautiful the Golden Rainbow is

and also how we are going to see

if the Golden Crunchdoodles are at the end.

-Oh! [ Bell dings ]

-Purple Panda.

-Um, I like that we never knew

that the Golden Rainbow made music

and that there was a game in the middle of it.

[ Bell dings ]

-Final answers?

-I can't believe how many fun things

we've seen and done on our quest.

-Mm-hmm. And we're not even done questing.

-Golden Crunchdoodles, here we come!

-Maybe the Golden Crunchdoodles

taste like super nutty deliciousness.

-Oh, yeah, or maybe they taste like super delicious nuttiness.

-Ohhh, I'm so excited!

I can...almost taste them.

-And we must be getting close to the end

because this Golden Rainbow is getting really, really bright.

-Yeah, it's getting so bright,

I can barely see.

-Maybe we should just close our eyes.

-Oh, okay.

[ Inhales deeply ]

[ Sighs ]

-Ohh! -Ohh!

[ Thud ]

-Okay, that didn't work.

-Oh, Donkey, what are we going to do now?

We'll have to turn back, and then we'll never know

if there are Golden Crunchdoodles

at the end of the rainbow.

-Panda, we've come too far to give up now.

Hmm. I know!

We just need some sunglasses!

-Whoa. -Wow.

It's so beautiful here.

-Yeah.

Who knew the Golden Rainbow had all these light bursts?

It's almost like the light is dancing.

-Yeah! That makes me feel like dancing.

-[ Laughs ]

[ Both gasp ]

We made it to the end of the Golden Rainbow!

-Hey-o!

Now let's find those Golden Crunchdoodles.

-Now. where are they? Hmm.

-Nope. Not back here. -Uh...

Hmm. -Um...

-Uh...huh.

Hmm. Now, those Crunchdoodles got to be around here.

Um, maybe they're at...

Um...hmm.

Huh.

-Hmm.

-Do you see them, Panda?

-Hmm, no.

Do you, Donkey?

-No.

I guess it looks like the Golden Crunchdoodles aren't here.

-[ Sighs ]

I feel...I feel lots of sad disappointment.

-And I feel lots of disappointed sadness.

[ Both sigh ]

I was really hoping to find the Golden Crunchdoodles,

especially after all we went through to get here.

-What a bad day.

The wall, the gate, the brightness.

-[ Gasps ]

Yeah.

The wall, the gate, the brightness.

-I just said that. -I know.

But remember what happened at the wall?

-[ Gasps ] Oh, yeah!

We heard the Golden Rainbow's beautiful music.

-And at the gate?

-You win!

-We played the "Middle of the Golden Rainbow Game."

-Yeah, and then when we got to

the really bright part and we sang?

-Oh, and we danced?

-And did this.

[ Laughs ]

And we wouldn't have had this much fun

if we hadn't gone looking for the Golden Crunchdoodles.

-Hey-o!

-Hey. Hey, Panda. -Hi.

-Let's keep having fun and do this all over again

on the way back!

-[ Gasps ] To the beginning of the rainbow.

-♪ Doo doo-doo doo! ♪

[ Both laugh ]

-[ Sighs ]

-Hey, Grampy!

-Mm? Oh, uh, hey there, my little Donkaroo.

-Grampy, what happened to your walking stick?

-Oh, well, it broke this morning.

-How?

-Well, on my hike this morning, I was walking along.

Then it got stuck in a hole and just snapped.

I love this old stick.

-I'm sorry, Grampy.

-Well, this walking stick and I

have been through a lot together.

-We climbed to the tippy top of Mount Really High Up,

trudged across the white sand of North Southwood Beach.

-Well, maybe I can fix it for you.

I don't know, Donkey. I'm not sure it can be fixed.

-Oh, don't worry, Grampy.

I, Donkey Hodie, will fix your walking stick.

[ Humming ]

Oh, yeah, this chewing gum ought to do the trick.

Behold, Purple Panda!

The two halves of Grampy's walking stick are now one!

-Uh...

Better make that two, Donkey.

-I've tried everything

to get these two ends to stick together --

super duper tape, super strong string,

super duper, super strong glue!

Aah! Nothing seems to work.

Well, now what?

Well, if I can't put the old one back together,

maybe I can find Grampy a new walking stick.

-Hey, great plan, Donkey!

-Yes.

I, Donkey Hodie,

will find Grampy a new walking stick.

-And I, Purple Panda, will help, too.

Anything for Grampy.

Oh! And -- Hey-o!

I have an idea.

-So, what do you think, Grampy?

Will Panda's purple bamboo work?

-Uh, well, it's a little skinny to be a walking stick.

-I'm sure it's strong, right, Panda?

-Yeah. I just picked it yesterday.

-Well, let's give it a try then.

[ Grunts ]

All righty.

Uh...

I'm afraid it's a little too bendy for a walking stick.

-Oh, don't worry, Grampy.

We'll find other ideas for a new walking stick.

-Hmm. -Hmm.

-Hmm. -Hmm.

-Hmm. -Hmm.

-Idea?

-No. You?

-No.

-[ Sighs ]

-Hmm. -Hmm.

-How about now? Any ideas?

-Nothin'. I have no idea for a new walking stick.

-Bob Dog's running with the ball!

-Hey, look! It's Bob Dog!

Maybe he has an idea.

-And touchdown! Bow, wow, what a play!

-Bob Dog, we need some help.

-Yeah, and some ideas. -Mm-hmm.

-Okay, well, what do you got?

-Grampy's walking stick broke. -Okay.

-And he needs a new one. -Uh-huh.

-Got any ideas for something he can use?

-Aha!

And so, Grampy, here's my idea for a brand-new walking stick.

-Um, is this a dog bone?

-Sure is. I've been saving it for a special occasion.

I can't think of a more special occasion than this one.

Go on. Give it a try.

-Oh, okay.

It's a little heavy, Bob Dog, but I'll give it a try.

[ Grunting ]

Ah.

I don't think I'll be able to dance with it.

-Ah. Oh, you hear that, Panda? -What?

-Grampy has to be able to dance with a walking stick.

-Oh.

-[ Grunting ]

Ooh!

See what I mean? Thanks anyway, Bob Dog.

-No problem. I'll fetch it.

-Let's ask some of our other friends for ideas.

-Okay.

-So, Stanley, your idea is to pretend to be a walking stick?

How inventive.

-Mm, not pretend, Grampy. No, no.

As an actor, I shall become one.

Let me just get into character here.

Mm, brrr. Mm, brrrhrrr. Mm, blblblbl!

-I think this is gonna work.

-Almost ready. Almost there.

I am a walking stick. A walking stick am I.

And...action.

What did you think?

Am I not a splendid walking stick?

-Um, I don't see it, do you?

-Um, well, it's a really nice idea, Stanley,

but I'm afraid I need a real walking stick.

You know, something I can actually hold on to.

-Hmm.

Something he can hold on to.

-'Kay, 'kay, so my idea was

you could use this as your new walking stick, Grampy.

-Uh, what is it?

-It's my book snatcher,

for when I'm cozy in my little bed

and I want to snatch a book off the top shelf.

-Hmm. Okay. Let's give it a try.

-Ah? -Hey!

Look at that nice balance.

Mm-hmm! -Yeah.

I had a feeling it would work.

I read about it in one of my books,

"Using Things For Things

That Things Weren't Meant to be Used For."

-Hee-hawesome idea, Duck Duck!

-Yep. [ Grunts ]

Uh -- [ Grunts ]

Uh, only one problem --

the suction cups stick to the ground.

I can't pull them up.

[ Grunts, clicks tongue ]

Ah, well, it's a nice idea, Duck Duck, but a sticky stick

is not good for walking.

-Yeah, that makes sense.

-Hmm. So, the walking stick needs to balance,

but it can't be too sticky.

-Oooh, it's my latest invention, Grampy!

I invented it especially for you.

I call it my Talkin' Walkin' Stick.

Mm-hmm! -Oh, a walking stick that talks?

That could be interesting.

-Give it a walk, Grampy.

Okay.

-[ Robotic voice ] Good morning, Grampy Hodie.

Isn't it a beautiful morning?

How are you feeling today? -Uh --

-What did you have for breakfast?

-Uh -- Uh -- I-It's a very clever idea, uh, Harriet,

but you see, I enjoy the quiet of nature when I walk.

Yeah, I look forward to listening to the birds

and the butterflies.

-Hmm. [ Gasps ]

Well, what if I made it sing?

Huh? Hmm? Huh? Hmm?

-[ Clicks tongue ] Uh, well, thank you,

but, uh, my walking stick

really doesn't need to sing, Harriet.

-Hmm.

-Hmm, the walking stick shouldn't talk or sing.

Okay.

Even though Grampy didn't like those other walking sticks,

our friends' ideas really told us something, Panda.

-Yes, they did. -Mm-hmm.

-Uh, what did they tell us, again?

-They told us the walking stick has to be something

Grampy can hold in his hand

and something he can twirl and dance with.

-And don't forget, something not bendy like my bamboo.

-And something that won't stick to the ground, either.

-Oh, and something that doesn't talk or sing.

-Mm-hmm. -So...what can that be?

-Ah! Oh.

I don't know.

-[ Gasps ] Ah!

Me, neither.

-Think Donkey Hodie, think.

-[ Sighs ] We've got ideas from everyone.

-Hmm. [ Gasps ]

Not everyone, Panda.

Come on!

So, Grampy, you have any ideas for your new walking stick?

-Well, I'm not sure.

Uh, my old one was just so right, you know?

So special. -Mm, yeah.

You had that walking stick a long time, Grampy.

-Mm-hmm. -Where'd you get it?

-Well, way back in the day,

I found this broken tree branch over in the woods.

-You got it in the woods? -Yessiree.

Made my walking stick from that very branch with my own hooves.

-[ Gasps ] Tell me more!

What did your walking stick smell like?

Oh, what did it feel like?

-Ooh, well, it smelled so sweet, like fresh pine

with just a hint of mint.

And it felt smooth and firm to my touch.

And it was the color of a rainy day.

-[ Gasps ] Hee-hi have an idea!

Look for a branch that's the color of a rainy day.

-Tsk, color of a rainy day.

Got it.

Ooh!

Hey, look what I found! [ Chuckles ]

-[ Gasps ] Oh. Aw, the color's a little off.

Let's keep looking. -Okay.

[ Both humming, grumbling ]

-Donkey? -Mm-hmm?

-What if we can't find what we're looking for?

-We're not gonna give up, Panda!

We can do it! Hmm!

Wait, what's that?

-What? -[ Gasps ]

[ Gasps ] With a little work, this could be the one!

-[ Gasps ] Ooh!

-I, Donkey Hodie...

-And I, Purple Panda...

-...will make a new walking stick!

-Both: Hmm!

♪♪

Hmm.

♪♪

-[ Sniffs ]

♪♪

-Hah! Hah!

♪♪

I, uh -- I-I-I think it's missing something.

-Not anymore. [ Laughs ]

♪♪

Done! [ Laughs ]

[ Sniffs ] Ah!

Pine with just a hint of mint!

Just like what Grampy wanted.

-Ah, can I smell it? -Ooh, yeah.

-[ Sniffs ]

Ah, minty!

-Hee-hawesome! [ Laughs ]

Here you go, Grampy!

Panda and I did our best to make you a new walking stick,

just like your old one!

-You made me a new walking stick?

-We did, we did.

-We know nothing can totally replace your old walking stick,

but maybe you'll like this one almost as much.

-Hmm.

[ Sniffs ] Hey.

[ Grunts ]

Hmm. -[ Laughs ]

Thanks to our friends, we found out

what you really liked about your walking stick.

-Oh, yeah. And thanks to you,

we found out what makes it special.

-Hmm! -Turns out, asking everyone for ideas

is maybe the best idea of all.

-Hmm! Hmm-hmm. -[ Laughs ]

Hmm!

-[ Gasps ] -[ Gasps ]

-I love it! -Oh, hey-o!

-Hee-hawesome! [ Laughs ] -Thank you both so much.

-Ah, you're welcome, Grampy! -You're welcome, Grampy!

-Now, who's up for a walk?

-Ooh, I am! -Me!

-Let's go! -[ Laughs ]
