for the morning-time game show - the Breakfast Bowl!

Duck Duck: You mean the show

where you play breakfast-y games to win a big prize?

Donkey: Not just any prize!

the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

Duck Duck: That sounds pretty awesome!

Donkey: It is!

And I, Donkey Hodie, am going to win it!

Duck Duck: Well, who are you competing against?

Donkey: No idea, but whoever it is,

I need to b*at them.

Panda: Whisk...

Bob Dog: Whisking and waving...

Panda: Hi! Bob Dog: ...at the same time?

Panda: Mm-hmm. Bob Dog: Wait a minute!

Panda: Oh yeah!

Oh, and I really want to win the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

Bob Dog: Bow wowie!

Uh, who are you playing against?

Panda: Uh, I don't know,

but whoever it is,

I've gotta b*at 'em to win that bowl!

Gameshow Gator: It's time to play the Breakfast Bowl!

Please welcome our contestants!

Donkey: Gotta win that bowl!

Panda: Oh, I gotta win that bowl!

Donkey: (gasp) Panda? Panda: (gasp) Donkey?

Donkey/Panda: Oh no!

I'm playing against my best friend!

Gator: Yes, you are!

And let's see what you're playing for!

Today's winner will go home with...

the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

Panda: (gasp)

Donkey: Oh, oh, it's even more awesome than I imagined!

I really need to win that bowl!

Panda: That's the shiniest bowl I've ever seen!

I have to win it!

Gator: Let the games begin!

It's time for our first game -

the Egg Scramble!

Colorful eggs will pop up and down all around you...

Panda: Oh! Gator: Whoever tags

the most eggs before the timer runs out

will win the first game!

Donkey: Oh! I hope it's me...ha ha!

...oh, but I also hope it's Panda.

Panda: I really want to win.

But, I don't want Donkey to lose, do I?

Gator: Let the Egg Scramble begin!

Ha ha ha!

Donkey: Oh. Oh. I gotta get those eggs.

Panda: Uhh! Why won't these eggs stand still?! Oh!

Donkey: Oh. Ah.

Uhh, there's gotta be a way to tag these eggs.

Think, Donkey Hodie, think!

♪♪

Hey! Every time Panda reaches for that egg,

it disappears and pops up right behind him!

Ooh! Ooh!

I can just stand behind Panda

and tag all the eggs that pop up behind him;

then I would win the first game!

(giggles)

Gator: Looks like Donkey's about to make a big move!

Donkey: Oh!

I really want to win the bowl,

but if I win, that means Panda loses,

and I know he really wants to win!

And I want him to win, too!

Hey, Panda! Get behind me!

Panda: Wh-what for?

Donkey: Now get ready!

Panda: Get ready for what?

I tagged it!

Gator: Did you see that?!

Donkey helped her best friend!

Panda: Okay, Donkey, now you get behind me.

Donkey: Yeah! Yeah!

Gator: (gasp) This is unbelievable!

Purple Panda is helping his friend, too!

Donkey: I got one!

Gator: This is amazing!

Donkey: Your turn, Panda!

Panda: Oh, okay!

♪♪

Oh, got it!

Hey-o!

(bell dings) Gator: Time's up.

Purple Panda tagged two eggs and Donkey tagged one!

Purple Panda wins the first game!

Panda: (gasp) I won!

Hey-o! (giggles)

Oh...

but I'm sad that Donkey lost.

Gator: It's time for game number two:

the Flying Flapjack Catch!

The player to catch the most Flying Flapjacks wins!

Panda: Good luck, Donkey!

Donkey: Good luck to you, Panda!

Gator: Let the Flying Flapjack Catch begin!

Donkey: Okay. Panda: Okay.

Donkey: Oh, come here, oh flapjack.

Panda: (gasp) Got one!

Hey-o! (giggles)

It's a good thing I'm taller than Donkey.

Now I can get all the flapjacks.

(giggles)

What am I doing?

What am I doing?

I really want to win, but

I don't want my best pal to lose.

Donkey: (grunts)

Panda: Oh, those flapjacks are flying too high

and Donkey can't reach 'em.

(gasp) I got an idea.

(zip!)

Hey Donkey! Use this!

Donkey: A net? Panda: Mm-hmm!

The net will help you reach higher,

and you'll be able to catch those flapjacks!

Donkey: Thanks, Panda pal!

Gator: They're helping each other again! Incredible!

Donkey: (gasp) It worked!

(bell dings) Gator: Times up!

Panda caught one Flying Flapjack!

And Donkey caught two! Donkey wins!

Donkey: Hee-haw! I won! I won!

Panda: Congratulations, Donkey!

Donkey: Thank you for helping me!

Oh, but I'm sad you didn't win, Panda.

Gator: Here's the good news!

You're now tied because you each won one game.

Panda: That is good news!

Hey-o!

Donkey: Hee-haw, good news! Ha ha!

Nice job, Panda!

Panda: You too, Donkey! Donkey: (giggles)

Gator: But the winner of the next game

will win the whole game show

and the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

Panda: (gasp)

Donkey: Oh wow!

I can win the whole thing.

Panda: All I have to do is win this one last game.

Donkey: Then I can eat cereal out of that amazing bowl

every morning!

Oh, that'll be hee-hawesome! (giggles)

Panda: But I'll also be sad if my friend loses!

Donkey: That will not be hee-hawesome!

Gator: It's time for our last game -

the Balancing Crunchdoodle Box Race!

The first contestant to finish the race

without dropping the box of Crunchdoodles

will win the game, the whole game show,

and the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

(laughs)

But, uh, where are the contestants?!

Donkey: Sorry, Gameshow Gator,

we don't want to compete in the last game.

Gator: Wha-?! Why not?

Donkey: Because if I win, it makes me feel uncomfortable,

because Panda will lose,

and I don't want my best friend to lose.

Panda: Yep. I feel the same way.

Gator: I know how you feel.

I used to feel uncomfortable

anytime I competed against my best friend

until I found a way to compete against my friend

and still have fun.

Donkey/Panda: How?

Donkey: ♪ When I play with my best friend, ♪

♪ My feelings get confusing.

♪ I want me to win, I want him to win, ♪

♪ And no one to be losing.

Panda: ♪ What do you do? How do you feel? ♪

♪ If one side must be beaten?

♪ Is there a way to still have fun, ♪

♪ When best friends are competin'? ♪

Donkey: ♪ What do you Donkey/Panda: ♪ recommend,

♪ When you're competing with your best friend? ♪

♪ Competing with your best friend? ♪

Gator: ♪ When my best frien-guin competes with me, ♪

♪ To see who runs the fastest.

♪ We get together, we agree,

♪ We're okay if we come in lastest. ♪

♪ And if I win, we both celebrate, ♪

♪ And if she wins, woo hoo!

♪ That's what I recommend,

♪ When competing with your best friend! ♪

Donkey: ♪ When I compete, I want to win, ♪

♪ But don't want my friend to lose. ♪

♪ What can I do? Think Donkey, think. ♪

♪ What am I supposed to choose? ♪

♪ Hey, what if I just play my best, ♪

♪ The best that I can do!

♪ But while I play, I'll cheer you on. ♪

♪ Yes, I'll still root for you! ♪

Panda: ♪ Yes, I'll cheer for you.

♪ You cheer for me, As we play so snappily! ♪

Donkey: ♪ I'll root for you. You root for me, ♪

♪ We'll compete happily!

Panda: ♪ That's how the Donkey/Panda: ♪ game will end

♪ As I compete with my best friend, ♪

Donkey: That's it!

We'll compete against each other and cheer for each other!

Panda: I love that idea! Let's try it!

Gator: Final game!

Whoever wins the race will win the prize!

Ha! Hee hee!

Donkey: I'm going to play my best,

but I'll still be rooting for you, Panda!

Panda: I'll be playing hard too, Donkey,

but I'll be cheering for you as well!

Gator: Let the Balancing Crunchdoodle Race begin!

Panda: You got this, Donkey!

Donkey: Go Panda, go!

Donkey/Panda: (giggle)

Panda: That's some pretty excellent

balancing work there, Donkey!

Donkey: You too, Panda!

Gator: (giggles)

Donkey: You're doing hee-hawesome!

Panda: Oh, thank you! Go, Donkey, go!

Gator: Amazing!

♪♪

Gator: It looks like...

Panda: Yeah!

Gator: Panda wins!

Panda: I won!

Hey-o! I won!

(giggles)

Oh no, but that means that Donkey lost.

Donkey: Oh, it's okay, Panda pal!

I'm not upset about not winning!

I did my best and I cheered for you

and best of all I had fun!

Panda: Aww!

Gator: And now Panda, here is your prize,

the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

Panda: Wow!

I can't believe that I won the Cereal Bowl of Awesomeness!

Hey-o!

Donkey: Great job, Panda. I'm really happy for you!

Panda: Aww, thank you, Donkey!

You know, Donkey?

It was really fun to compete against you.

You know you can borrow this bowl whenever you'd like.

Donkey: (gasp) Thanks, purple pal!

Donkey/Panda: (giggle)

Bob Dog: I can't wait to see

what Donkey planned for us today!

Panda: Yeah! She said that it was something

that we've never done before!

Bob Dog: Bow wow! I love doing new things!

Donkey: Hee-haw!

Panda: Oh, so what's the surprise, Donkey?!

Bob Dog: Yeah, what's the surprise?

Donkey: Ask me questions and see if you can figure it out!

Panda/Bob Dog: Oooh!

Panda: Okay, um,

what do we need to do for this surprising thing?

Bob Dog: Mmm.

(zip!)

Hmm, water something?

Panda: Oh, maybe we're watering plants in Donkey's garden!

Bob Dog: No, that can't be it.

Uh, we've watered plants in her garden before.

Panda: Oh yeah. Bob Dog: Umm.

Panda: Uh, well, what do we need for this surprising thing?

Bob Dog: Ooh, good question. Panda: Thank you.

Donkey: (giggles)

(zip!)

Flowerpots!

Panda: Oh, maybe we're growing flowers?

Bob Dog: But we've grown flowers before too!

Panda: Oh, that's right.

Uh, are we growing a new kind of flower

that we've never grown before?

Donkey: Yes!

Panda: (gasp) Hey-o!

We're getting closer to figuring it out.

Bob Dog: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Panda: Ask another question.

Donkey: Uh-huh. Bob Dog: Uh, let's see.

Oh, oh, oh. I got one.

Uh, do we need anything special to grow this new kind of flower?

Donkey: Uh-huh.

(zip!)

A guitar!!

Panda: What kind of flower can you grow with a guitar?

Bob Dog: I have no idea!

Donkey: (giggles) It's time to tell you the surprise.

Today we're growing...

(zip!)

...DANCING DANDELIONS!

Panda/Bob Dog: DANCING DANDELIONS?

Donkey: Uh-huh!

They're dandelions that grow and dance when you play music.

(whirring) Donkey: Hmm?

(salsa music playing)

Whoa! What is that?

Harriett Elizabeth Cow: (giggling)

Say hello to my newest invention--

The Music-Racer!

It's a music player that races around!

Do your thing.

Mm-hmm.

(whirring)

Bob Dog: Bow wow! Panda: Hey-o!

Donkey: Hee-haw!

♪♪

Panda: Uh, hey, Donkey, uh,

why are you shaking those seeds like that?

Donkey: I'm not shaking them.

I think the seeds are dancing on their own.

Bob Dog: Bow wowie! Those seeds dance too?

Donkey: Oh, oh, these Dancing Dandelion seeds

are-are dancing like-like crazy!

Waaaah!

Panda: You know, I think if we want to plant those seeds,

we're going to have to stop them from dancing.

Bob Dog: Yeah, but how? Donkey: Hmm.

The seeds started dancing when they heard the music,

so will they stop dancing if we stop the music?

Harriett: Hmm. Good question!

Well, since we're dancing along our merry way here,

you're about to find out!

Music-Racer: Let's go!

♪♪

(salsa music fades)

Donkey: (gasps) It worked!

Thanks, Harriett!

Harriett: Ooooo, you're welcome!

Donkey: Now it's time to plant!

Let's read the directions. (clears her throat)

Okay, it says there are three steps

to grow Dancing Dandelions:

First, plant the seed in dirt.

Bob Dog: Okay. Panda: Mm-hmm.

Donkey: Second, water the seed.

Bob Dog: Uh-huh.

Donkey: Third, play music and the dandelion will grow.

Bob Dog: Bow wowie! Here I go!

Step one!

And step two!

And now for step three!

(zip!)

(guitar playing)

(guitar stops)

Hey ya, Donkey?

My seed isn't growing!

Donkey: Hmm, that's odd.

Let me see what else the directions say.

Hmm. Oh!

It says here that each seed grows

to a different kind of music.

Bob Dog: Hmm, well how are we supposed to know that?

Panda: Oh, that's a good question, Bob Dog!

(gasp) That's it!

Maybe we should ask MORE questions.

Donkey: Hey yeah, maybe we can ask questions

to help figure out what kind of music

will get each of our Dancing Dandelions to grow!

Bob Dog: Yeah, uh, well, what else can we try?

Panda: Uh... (gasp) Oooh!

How about your banjo?

Bob Dog: Bow wowie!

(zip!)

How about a little banjo music, Dancing Dandelion?

(banjo playing)

Panda: (gasp) Oh, look! Something's happening!

♪♪

Donkey: (gasp) It's working!

The banjo music is getting your flower to grow!

Bob Dog: Yeah! Panda: Keep playing, Bob Dog!

Bob Dog: Okay!

♪♪

Donkey: There's the dandelion! It's growing!

Panda: And it's dancing! (giggles)

♪♪

(banjo stops) Bob Dog: Bow wow!

Donkey: Hee-haw! Panda: Hey-o!

Now it's my turn!

Donkey: Good luck, Purple Panda!

Panda: Thank you, Donkey!

Okay, here I go!

Planting the seed in the dirt.

Then watering the seed!

(giggles)

Okay, so...

each seed grows to a different type of music, right?

Donkey: Right! So, what music should you try?

Panda: Hmmmm... How about flugelhorn music?

(zip!)

(flugelhorn plays)

♪♪

Donkey: Nope, the seed isn't growing.

Panda: (sigh)

I wonder what kind of music will get my flower to grow.

(sigh)

(dinging)

(giggles)

Donkey: Oh! Panda, look!

Panda: (gasp)

Hey!

When the wind chimes make a sound, the dirt moves.

(gasp)

If the wind keeps making the wind chimes,

uh, chime,

will my Dancing Dandelion grow?

(wind chimes dinging)

Bob Dog: Hmm, the wind chimes make a nice sound,

but it's not really music. Donkey: Hmm.

But the seed seems to like that metal, chiming sound.

Bob Dog: Mm-hmm. Panda: What if I made music

that has like a-a metal, chiming sound?

Would that get my flower to grow?

Donkey: Great question!

But what kind of instrument makes that sound?

Panda: Glockenspiel!

(zip!)

Donkey/Bob Dog: A glockenspiel!?

Panda: Yup! It's made of metal.

And listen to this.

(glockenspiel chiming)

Bob Dog: Hey, I think the seed likes it!

♪♪

Panda: Yeah, well, I hope the seed likes the glockenspiel

even more after I play some jazz on it.

(glockenspiel jazz plays)

Donkey: Hey! Something's happening!

Bob Dog: Keep on rockenspieling the glockenspiel!

Donkey: (giggles)

♪♪

Bob Dog: You did it!

♪♪

Donkey: Ha! Your glockenspiel got the flower to grow!

Bob Dog: Bow wow!

Panda: Hey-o! Donkey: Hee-haw!

Okay! Now it's my turn!

First, put the seed in the dirt.

Second, add water.

(giggles)

And third, time for music.

Hmm, but what kind of music should I try?

Hmm... (ding!)

I, Donkey Hodie, will get this Dancing Dandelion to grow

by asking more questions!

♪ What makes my dancing flower grow, ♪

♪ That's the thing I need to know. ♪

♪ Perhaps more questions are what I need, ♪

♪ To find what moves that little seed. ♪

♪ Do ya like conga drums? (conga drums play)

♪ How about bassoon! (bassoon plays)

♪ Do you prefer a country tune? ♪

(slide guitar twangs)

♪ Do you like polka? (accordion plays)

♪ How 'bout soul? (keyboard plays)

♪ Or heavy metal rock and roll? ♪

(electric guitar plays)

Panda/Bob Dog: ♪ See her try, see her ask,

♪ Donkey, you can do the task!

Donkey: ♪ I'll keep on asking the questions you know, ♪

♪ To find what makes my flower grow. ♪

Think, Donkey Hodie, think,

what music can get that flower to grow?

Hmm. Oh! Wait a minute!

Remember how the seed packet started moving

when Harriett's Music-Racer was playing?

Bob Dog: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Panda: Oh yeah! I remember that!

Donkey: Well, maybe it was my seed dancing to that music.

Bob Dog: (gasp) Oh!

Donkey: What kind of music was playing on the Music-Racer?

Bob Dog: I think it was salsa music!

Donkey: Salsa music! Right!

♪ Hey little seed there in the pot, ♪

♪ Here's a question that I've got, ♪

♪ Is salsa music the thing to play, ♪

♪ To get you to grow and dance today? ♪

Panda/Bob Dog: ♪ She asks questions 'cause she needs to know, ♪

♪ What makes her dancing flower grow? ♪

Donkey: ♪ What makes my dancing flower grow? ♪

All: ♪ What makes her dancing flower grow? ♪

Donkey: Let's try a little salsa!

(giggles) Oh, I hope this works.

Harriett: Music-Racer, play salsa.

(salsa music plays)

♪♪

Bob Dog: Hey Donkey, your pot's moving!

Donkey: Yeah, it does like salsa music!

Bob Dog: But is it growing?

♪♪

Donkey: (gasp) It is!

Bob Dog: Keep playing more salsa!

(whirring) Donkey: (gasp) It's growing!

Bob Dog: Yeah!

Panda: (gasp) And growing!

(whirring)

Donkey: It worked!

I got my Dancing Dandelion to grow!

And look at it dance!

Bob Dog: Yeah! Panda: (giggles)

Hey, we all should dance!

Bob Dog: Bow wow!

Panda: Come on! Bob Dog: Yeah!

♪♪

Donkey: Dance, Dancing Dandelions, dance!

(giggles)

(banjo playing)

♪♪

Okay, your turn, Panda pal!

(glockenspiel chiming)
