♫ Bottle Top Bill ♫

♫ and his best friend Corky ♫

♫ Up on a hill ♫

♫ Let's watch them as they play ♫

♫ Playing all day ♫

♫ Hooray ♫

- [Bill] The Adventures of Bottle Top Bill!

- [Corky] And his best friend Corky!

♫ Bottle Top Bill ♫

What sort of an adventure will we have today, Bill?

- [Bill] A real beauty, Corky!

It's called "The Tall Story".

- [Corky] Where exactly are we, Bill?

- [Bill] Don't you recognize it?

- [Corky] It looks a little like...

I know!

It's Cedric the Scientist's laboratory!

- Spot on, Corky,

and he wants our help with his new project.

- Fantastic!

I wonder where Cedric is.

- [Bill] He should be around her somewhere.

- [Corky] There he is!

Hello, Cedric!

- Good morning, good morning.

- It is a good morning, Cedric.

How are you today?

- Very well, thank you.

And I'm even better now that you're here to help me.

Let's go outside to my new truck.

- [Bill] Can we go for a ride in it?

- [Cedric] Better than that.

I want you to drive it.

I have an important delivery for you to make.

- No problem, Cedric.

We can deliver this truck anywhere you like.

- It's not the truck that needs delivering.

It's what's in the truck.

- [Corky] What is in the truck?

- [Bill] It's very tall.

- [Corky] It's got very long, long legs.

- [Bill] And a very long, long neck.

- [Corky] And it's yellow.

- [Bill] With brown patches.

It's a giraffe!

Paint me pink!

- It's the first giraffe I've ever seen!

- [Cedric] Stretchy needs to be taken to her new home.

- Leave it to us, Cedric.

We'll get her there nice and safely.

- Here's a book on giraffes that will tell you

everything you need to know.

Now, where's my tricycle?

- [Corky] What do you need that for, Cedric?

- [Cedric] I have to go on ahead

and make sure Stretchy's new home is ready for her.

So many things to do, so little time to do them.

(someone whistles)

- That's very nice whistling, Corky.

- I'm not whistling, Bill.

- And I'm not whistling either.

- So, who is whistling?

(Stretchy whistles)

- It's Stretchy!

- Bill, this book says that giraffes

sometimes talk to each other by whistling.

- Crickey!

Giraffes must be very clever.

- I think it's time we got going, Bill.

- Ready, Corky?

- Ready, Bill!

- Are you ready, Stretchy?

(Stretchy whistles)

Then let's get cracking.

- [Corky] Our friends will get an incredible surprise

when they see Stretchy!

- [Bill] You said it, Corky!

It's not every day you see a giraffe go by.

- [Corky] I can't wait to see the look on Maisy the Cow!

- [Bill] And I can't wait to see what

Ms. Whistlehead's sheep think of Stretchy!

- [Corky] Hello, Maisy.

(car horn honks)

- Hello, sheep.

(car horn honks)

(cow moos, sheep bleat)

- [Corky] Look, Bill.

Who's that ahead?

- [Bill] He looks very familiar, Corky.

- [Corky] I think I know who it is.

- [Bill] So do I!

It's our friend, Ned!

Just wait til he sees what we got on board.

(car horn honks)

- Wow!

A giraffe!

- Sorry, Ned, can't stop.

- We have to get Stetchy to her new home.

- Bill, Corky, wait for me!

- We'll be at Stretchy's new home in no time, Corky.

- Uh, Bill?

- This truck is really nice to drive, Corky.

- But, Bill?

- I wonder if Cedric wants us to deliver more animals.

That will be great.

- Bill, look!

- [Bill] What is it, Corky?

- [Corky] I'm not sure, Bill,

but I think it's going to be a problem!

- [Bill] It's an overhead bridge,

and it will be a very big problem!

- What do you think, Bill?

- I think Stretchy is too tall to fit under the bridge.

- I think so, too, Bill.

- What are we going to do?

- Wow, it really is a giraffe!

- [Corky] And her name is Stretchy, Ned.

- Can I come with you and Stretchy?

Please, Bill?

Please, Corky?

- No problems, Ned.

You can come with us.

As long as you don't touch anything.

- But what do we do about our problem?

- We can't go under the bridge, Bill,

so we'll have to take the long way around.

- The long way it is.

(adventurous music)

The long way around is going to be bumpy.

- [Corky] Very bumpy!

- Sorry for the bumpy ride, Stretchy.

- I don't like the look of that rock, Bill.

- [Bill] What rock, Corky?

- [Corky] The rock we're about to hit!

Whoa!

(truck crashes)

I think we've got a flat tire, Bill.

- We do have a flat tire, Corky.

- We'll need to change it.

- And to do that, we need a jack to lift the truck.

- But we don't have one.

- But we are close to Ms. Whistlehead's farm.

She might have one.

- Ned, could you look after Stretchy

while we visit Ms. Whistlehead?

- You bet!

I'd love to look after Stretchy!

- Let's go, Corky!

- On our way, Bill!

- Wow, I love giraffes.

Can I please pet you, Stretchy?

(Stretchy whistles)

Thank you!

I can't reach!

I've got to get higher!

This ladder will do it.

Now I can reach!

Wow, I'm petting a giraffe!

This is the best!

Whoa!

Uh-oh.

I've touched something.

Please, Stretchy, be a good giraffe!

Now, Stretchy, you be a good giraffe

and hop back into the truck.

Stretchy?

Come back!

Stretchy?

Stretchy?

Maisy, sheep?

Did yous see a giraffe go by?

(cow moos)

Thank you.

Stop, Stretchy, please stop!

- It's so nice of Ms. Whistlehead

to lend us this jack, Corky.

- You said it, Bill.

- We'll have this wheel changed in no time.

- Uh, Bill?

- Cedric will be very grateful

that we've gone to all this trouble.

- But, Bill?

- There it is, good as new.

- Bill, look!

- I don't believe it!

Where's Stretchy?

- And where's Ned?

- We've got to find them, Corky.

- [Corky] I think we'll need our helicopter for this.

- [Bill] That's what I was thinking too, Corky.

- [Corky] Stretchy could be anywhere.

- It could take ages to find her.

- Up, Bill!

- Up, Corky, and away!

Maybe Stretchy wandered off because she's hungry.

- My giraffe book says that they eat the leaves of trees.

- Down there, Corky!

Do you see it?

- [Corky] I do, Bill!

A big, leafy tree.

- [Bill] If I was a giraffe,

I'd think that was a very yummy tree.

- [Corky] Look, Bill!

It's Stretchy, and she does think it's a yummy tree.

- Stop, Stretchy!

Oh, you have stopped.

Bill, Corky!

Thank goodness you're here.

Stretchy escaped.

- How did she get out of the truck?

- I might have touched something.

I didn't mean to.

- Ned, you should be more careful.

- I'm really sorry, honest!

- Never mind.

We just have to get Stretchy to follow us

to her new home!

- How will you do that, Bill?

- That's easy.

You just, uh...

Corky, how will get Stretchy to follow us?

- I don't know, Bill.

Maybe Cedric's book can tell us.

It says that giraffes like to be with their giraffe friends

and they like to follow each other.

- So we need another giraffe

to lead Stretchy to her new home.

- Wow, two giraffes!

- But where do we find another giraffe?

- Here's an idea, Bill.

If we can't find another giraffe, we can make one.

- [Bill] Now you're talking, Corky!

We can make a mechanical giraffe!

- [Corky] With long legs.

- [Bill] And a tall neck.

- [Corky] A small head with two little horns.

- And don't forget the tail.

That's the best looking mechanical giraffe I've ever seen.

Not that I've ever seen one until now.

- [Corky] We have everything inside that we need

to control a mechanical giraffe.

- Ready, Corky?

- Ready, Bill.

- Forward, giraffe!

Let's hope that we can get Stretchy

to follow us to her new home.

(Stretchy whistles)

Ready for our whistle, Corky?

- Ready, Bill.

(teapot whistles)

It's working, Bill!

(Stretchy whistles)

- [Bill] Like a dream, Corky.

- [Corky] I can see Stretchy's new home up ahead, Bill.

- [Bill] Spot on, Corky.

That's the animal park.

- [Corky] Are we nearly there?

- [Bill] Not far now, Corky.

- Bill and Corky are late.

What could be keeping them?

What, indeed?

(teapot whistles)

(Stretchy whistles)

Wonderful!

I'm so happy to see you, Stretchy.

But where's my truck?

And who is that other giraffe?

(teapot whistles)

- Whoa, this is a great control room!

What does this button do?

- Ned, don't touch anything!

- I won't.

- Promise?

- Really, truly.

Look, I'll step right away.

Uh-oh.

Oh, no!

- Ned's touched something.

Whoa!

- I've never seen a giraffe hop before.

What a strange giraffe.

Strange, indeed.

- Hang on, Corky!

Hang on, Ned!

Whoa!

What a ride.

- You said it, Bill.

- It's Bill and Corky, and Ned, too!

And this is a mechanical giraffe!

Ingenious!

- We had a problem or two, Cedric.

- But we finally got Stretchy to her new home.

- Thank you so much.

Now, I should take Stretchy in

so she can meet all her new friends.

Can I come and meet all the animals, Cedric?

- Please do, Ned.

- But, Ned!

- I know, I won't touch anything.

- Goodbye, Stretchy.

(Stretchy whistles)

I knew we'd be having an adventure today, Corky,

but I didn't think it would turn out like this.

- Still, it was a great adventure, Bill.

- It sure was.

- And a great adventure is one of the best things ever.

- When you're right, Corky, you're right.

- [Corky] Will we have an adventure today, Bill?

- [Bill] We sure will, Corky.

It's called "The Baby Birds".

- Why do you want to use the telescope, Bill?

- I'm on a lookout, Corky, for the Great Wild Wooly.

- The Great Wild Wooly?

Why would he be at our place?

- Look through here and you'll soon see.

- [Corky] I just see our strawberry patch, Bill.

- [Bill] Exactly, Corky.

And look at those strawberries.

They're ripe and ready to pick.

- Do you think the Great Wild Wooly will want to eat them?

- I don't think, Corky.

I know he'll want to eat them.

- In that case, we'd better keep a sharp lookout.

No sign of the Great Wild Wooly, Bill.

- [Bill] No, Corky, but I do see something strange.

- [Corky] Where, Bill?

- [Bill] Just over there.

- [Corky] What do you think it is, Bill?

- [Bill] It looks like a bush!

- A bush with four legs!

I've never seen a walking bush, Bill.

- Neither have I, Corky.

We need to take a closer look at it.

Whoa!

Stand by to check out this bush, Corky.

- Standing by, Bill.

- Now!

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- You were right, Bill.

It is the Great Wild Wooly.

- And he is after our strawberries.

(Great Wild Wooly growls)

Growl all you like, Great Wild Wooly.

You won't get our strawberries.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

We showed him, Corky.

- I don't know, Bill.

The Great Wild Wooly won't give up easily.

- And neither will we, Corky.

We'll guard these strawberries night and day!

(doorbell)

- Did you hear that?

- It sounded like our front doorbell.

- We have a visitor!

(Great Wild Wooly growls)

- Hello, Sandy.

- Hello, Bill.

Hello, Corky.

- What brings you here today?

- Something strange has happened,

and I don't know what to do.

- That sounds serious, Sandy.

- What's the matter?

- Look what's on my head.

- [Corky] Do you mean your new hat, Sandy?

- [Bill] It looks very stylish.

- It's no hat, Bill.

It's a bird's nest.

- A bird's nest?

- If it's a bird's nest, Sandy, it should have a bird in it.

- [Corky] Wait a minute, Bill.

There is something in the bird's nest!

- [Bill] You're right, Corky.

It has a beak and feathers and two wings.

- Blow me down.

It's a bird!

- I like birds, but I don't want them nesting on my head.

- That's a fair point, Sandy.

- It should make its nest in a tree.

- But how can I get it to do that?

- Leave it to us, Sandy.

We'll help you.

Um, how will we help, Corky?

- What we need is an idea, Bill,

and I think I might just have one.

First, we have to pick some strawberries.

- That's great, Corky, but how will that help Sandy?

We'll use these strawberries

to tempt the bird away from the nest.

- I'm with you, Corky.

When she goes to eat the strawberries,

we can take the nest off Sandy's head.

- And put it safely into a tree.

- Let's get picking, Corky.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Here we are, Sandy, with lots of strawberries.

- Strawberries are very nice, Corky,

but how will that get this bird's nest off my head?

- [Bill] See a letterbox there?

- [Sandy] I do see it, yes!

- [Corky] Now, get ready for a big surprise, Sandy.

- Little bird, oh, little bird!

Here are some strawberries for you!

- Go on, you can have as many as you like.

- Tuck in, little bird.

They're fresh from our garden.

That's the way.

- This is our chance, Bill.

- Hold still, Sandy.

We'll have that nest off your head in no time.

- Wait, Bill, stop!

There's something else in the nest.

- Oh, dear, what is it this time?

- [Corky] Not just one thing, but two things.

- [Sandy] What ever can they be?

- [Corky] They're very small.

- [Bill] I know what they are.

- [Corky] And I know, too.

Baby birds!

- That means the big bird must be their mother.

- [Corky] That's right, Sandy.

(birds chirp)

- Oh, dear.

We can't move the nest now.

We'll upset the mother and her two babies.

- You're right, Sandy.

What should we do, Corky?

- I think we should go inside,

sit down and have a good think.

- A good think, yes, that's what we need.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Hold on a minute, Corky.

Something's missing.

- What, Bill?

- Maybe it's my hat.

- No, I can see it right there on your head.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

I know, Bill.

- So do I!

The strawberries!

We don't want to leave these behind.

Otherwise, that naughty Great Wild Wooly

might come and eat them.

(Great Wild Wooly growls)

There we are, safe and sound.

(birds chirp)

- Go on, Ms. Bird.

You can have some more if you like.

- I think Ms. Bird likes our strawberries, Corky.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- [Corky] Do you think we should still look out

for the Great Wild Wooly, Bill?

- [Bill] I don't think he'll be

bothering us again today, Corky.

- [Corky] I hope you're right, Bill.

- [Bill] I'm sure I'm right, Corky.

We sent him on his way good and proper.

- [Corky] He does like playing tricks, though.

- Relax, Corky, we won't see him again today.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

Now, I think it's time we all had

some of these beautiful strawberries.

- They do look delicious.

- Extremely delicious.

(doorbell)

- Who can that be?

(Great Wild Wooly quacks)

- Good morning.

Uh, do I know you?

(Great Wild Wooly quacks)

You have a sore foot, you poor fellow.

Come inside and we'll fix it up.

- Who was it, Bill?

- We have a visitor, Corky, and he's hurt his foot.

Haven't you, Mr. Duck?

(Great Wild Wooly quacks)

- Mr. Duck?

- Now, Corky, where did we put that bandage?

- Bill, do you notice anything unusual about that duck?

(Great Wild Wooly quacks)

- It does have very colorful wings.

- Anything else?

- Hm, now you've mentioned it, there is something.

- Bill, don't you think he's a very wooly duck?

(Great Wild Wooly quacks)

- You're right, Corky!

- [Corky] I think we should find out a bit more about him.

- We should.

Excuse me, Mr. Duck.

Do you mind telling us why you're so wooly?

- And why you're looking so closely at our strawberries?

(Great Wild Wooly quacks)

I knew it!

That's no duck!

- It's that sneaky Great Wild Wooly!

- And he's stolen our strawberries!

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Oh, no, he's going to eat our strawberries after all!

- Not if I can help it, Corky!

Now, where's my fishing rod?

- [Corky] Bill, this is no time to go fishing!

- Not fish fishing, Corky.

Strawberry fishing!

- [Corky] You'd better hurry, Bill.

Otherwise, he'll eat them all.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Here goes!

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Great fishing, Bill!

- Thanks, Corky.

I've never fished for strawberries before.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats and growls)

You see what happens when

you try to play tricks, Great Wild Wooly?

- If you'd asked us nicely,

we would have given you some strawberries.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Now, let's get these strawberries

back to Sandy and the birds.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

Here we are, Sandy.

- Are you all ready for some more strawberries?

- Sandy?

- Where's he gone?

- And where are the birds?

- [Sandy] Bill, Corky, come out into the garden, quickly!

- Do you think he's in trouble?

- We'd better hurry and find out!

- Over here!

Come and see this.

- What's happened, Sandy?

- Are you in trouble?

- Trouble?

What ever gave you that idea?

- Where are the birds?

- And why are you holding their empty nest?

- Because they've left it.

They're up here now.

(birds chirp)

After all the strawberries they've eaten,

the babies are strong now,

so Ms. Bird wants them to fly away with her.

- [Corky] I'm not sure those babies

want to fly yet, Bill.

- Give them time, Corky.

- Go on, babies!

You can do it!

- [Corky] Look, Bill, they're moving their wings.

- [Bill] Any moment now, Corky.

- [Sandy] That's it!

You're flying!

Well done!

- I think they're saying goodbye.

- Goodbye.

Do you have to go so soon?

(birds chirp)

- [Bill] They have to leave the nest sometime, Sandy.

- I suppose you're right, Bill.

Bye-bye, little birds.

(birds chirp)

- Goodbye.

- Come back soon.

(birds chirp)

- I'm going to keep this nest for when birds come to visit.

They can rest right here on my head.

- And we'll plant some more strawberries

for them to feed on.

- Speaking of strawberries, Bill,

I think it's time we had some.

- You're right, Corky.

We need to eat them while they're still nice and fresh.

- Sandy, would you like to join us for a strawberry picnic?

- Would I ever!

- [Bill] Mmm, this looks just right.

- [Corky] I hope everyone's hungry.

- [Sandy] I am!

Strawberries are my favorite fruit!

- [Bill] Here you are, Sandy, guests first.

- Thank you, Bill!

- Are you all right, Corky?

- I thought I saw something behind that bush.

- Nothing there, Corky.

Here, have a strawberry.

- Thanks, Bill.

- I think I saw something, too.

- Right, we need to get to the bottom of this.

Excuse me, is anyone there?

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- Great Wild Wooly!

What are you doing back here?

- Haven't you played enough tricks today?

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

- He wants some strawberries, Bill.

- And I suppose he is asking nicely this time.

- Is that right, Great Wild Wooly?

Are you asking nicely?

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

All right, then.

Here you are.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)

Now, everyone, let's picnic!

- Mmm, these strawberries aren't just good, Bill.

They're delicious!

- Super double delicious, Bill!

- When you're right, Corky, you're right.

(Great Wild Wooly bleats)
