-[Tunde chuckles]

-[Tunde] Glad to see you are studying.
-[gasps]

[giggles]

It's a great book, baba.

[Tunde] This is Kole.
He begins work here today.

You are not to distract him. Mmm?

-Do you understand?
-Mm-hmm.

Now, I expect you to work hard
and take it very seriously.

I'm a hard worker. Just ask my mama.

[Tunde] Now,
go inside to finish your studies. Mmm?

I must go into the office.
We are rolling out a big project today.

Wish me luck.

-Hi.
-Hi.

[exhales sharply]

-Tola...
-Don't.

Abeg. You're my friend
and I did the wrong thing.

We are not friends.

Tola.

My mama is sick.

Don't use her for this.
You did what you did. Not her.

Mmm. What about who you dey use?

You fit think about you
before you think of anyone else.

You no go even listen to me,
make I explain.

People like me
have to fight for our lives every day.

Sorry you have to do it now
but welcome to the real Lagos.

[grunts]

[object clattering]

[Otin beeps, chimes]

[whirring]

[Tunde grunts]

This is not how we do things.

I have it under control.

If you fail, what happens to us?

You have been against this plan
from the beginning.

Nah me be the oga, not you.

Sa, sa. I found your money.

Ah!

[chuckles]

You have what you want. Now let us go.

Mmm. O ti o, I am just getting started.

[gasps]

I want your company.
The entire list of clients.

How much they're worth. Everything.

Ha! Na. Take the money and end this.

Listen to her.

[clicks tongue, grunts] I want my name
completely erased from the system.

That's impossible. I can't...

And I want it done now now.

Oya. Take him.

[Tunde grunts]

You think I can just log in
from an unsecured server?

There are firewalls, protocols.
I need my system.

At your office.

Eh?

Happiness,

Mr. Martins has kindly invited us
to his home.

We are going to the island.

[laughs]

[mechanical buzzing]

[giggles]

Who knew the island gets air-filtered air.
[chuckles]

[sighs] What a difference.

-[beeping]
-[gasps] Oga is back.

[beeping]

[gasps] We gats to hide.
Oya, oya, oya, oya.

[grunts]

Search the place.
Make sure no-one else is here.

And shut down the security system.

Ah, ah. Uh, uh. O ga ju. [chuckles]

Nah wah oh.

See how you dey chop life.

Ah, ah!

I suppose buy this kind house
for myself oh.

-[gasps]
-Ye!

What a shame.
You claim to be from Ajegunle

yet you live like this
while people dey starve.

Take the children. We have business.

No. Don't touch her. Tola stays with me.

Relax. She will be safe
as long as I get what I want.

[Bode laughs]

[Tunde grunting]

See?

I don't lose.

-[Bode laughing]
-[no audible dialogue]

[door creaks]

[stammers] What are you doing?

Chai. I have to get you into Ija mode
before your battery dies.

Hello. Talk to me.

I think I know what to do for Ija mode.

Uh, it will take something like,
uh, fission.

Ah. Oga was focused on the wrong thing.

So, that will fix her battery, right?

No be just battery.
The problem dey outside.

She needs power.
She needs to pull power from somewhere.

It's suppose get base, a charging port.
Or...

Or something oga dey use to connect her.

We gats enter his office.

Well, we can't. They're-they're in there.

We gats try.

[wailing]

-Hey!
-What is going on?

What you gonna do?

-Okay. Please, please. Please. Calm down.
-Daddy!

-Come on, do something.
-[Tola] Where is my dad?

-Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
-Is he dead?

-[groans]
-No! [sobs]

-See me see trouble. Abeg.
-Please help me.

-Don't worry. You see your dad now.
-[Tola sobbing]

-[Tola] I need to see my dad. Daddy!
-Ope oh.

At least now she dey use her powers
for good thing.

[Tola wailing in distance]

While she dey do that, make we find
main power supply for house.

Abeg nepa no fall my hand.

-[all laughing]
-You're it.

I no be donkey nah. [yelps]

[phone operator]
Thank you for calling the police.

Our offices are currently closed.
If this is an emergency...

-[sighs]
-We have to do something.

-Hmm. [gasps]
-[beeping, pinging]

Hah! Mm-hmm.

[typing]

What is taking so long?

It takes time to steal an entire database.

-I'm trying not to draw attention.
-[Tola crying]

-Daddy! [wailing]
-Tola.

What happened? Are you okay?

You can go.

[Bode chuckling]

Maybe now you will stop stalling.

[stammers] You are stalling? Why now?

Tola. You don't understand
what's going on here.

-No. You know what Uncle taught me?
-Huh?

That mainlanders help each other.

But all you do is sit in your office.

You always only do what you think is best.

But how can you know what is best
when you don't even ask?

[sighs]

[laughing]

Uncle, you said that
you are a man of your word.

Promise that if he gives you
what you want, you'll let us go.

Ah. It is up to your father oh.

[sighs deeply]

-Eh, eh, eh. Where are you going?
-[gasps]

My friend, sit down.

-[laughing]
-Eh.

-[all laughing]
-[grunts]

Um...

[car alarm blares]

Huh?

[groans]

[grunts] Ki le play now?

[grunting, wheezing, coughs]

Hey. Huh?

-[grunts]

[gasps]

[Happiness] He is not doing
what is best for everyone.

Uh-uh. Oga sabi wetin dey sup.

Not this time.

Eh? How now?

Eh-eh. You foolish goats.

Why aren't you guarding the children?

Chai. Move. Let's go.

[groans]

-Mmm. [grunts]
-Whoa.

Uh-uh. Baba, this your house is fine.
Oloun.

It's like after I take your company, eh.

I think I'll move in here. [chuckles]

-[alarm beeping]
-[Tunde] This is the third alert.

If I keep trying, the whole system
is going to shut me out. Please. Eh?

Just take the money and go.

Baba. It be like say you think
this na game.

Make I show you, I no dey play.

I have to pee.

Really bad. Like, really, really bad.

Go.

[whimpers]

It is either your company...

or your daughter.

[scraping]

[grunts]

[electrical buzzing, humming]

[lackey screaming, howling]

[indistinct shouting]

Instead of you to mind your business,
una go enter person car.

-[electrical buzzing, humming]

[roars]

[grunting]

[chiming]

[Happiness groans]

[sighs]

[Otin] Go. It is not safe for you here.

Don't worry.
This is what I was made to do.

[lackeys grunting, groaning]

[panting]

They know I'm in the system,
and they're blocking me.

Daddy!

I did the best I could.

[Bode] An islander's best
is never good enough.

But, why? What did we do that's so bad?

You act innocent, but you are not.

No one is. Not me, not your father,
not even the children I kidnap.

We all play our parts.

The difference is,
you are only interested in taking.

[Tola] But you take money
from the parents.

Because it is what I deserve.

The islanders are wicked.

And if kidnapping a child
shines a light on that,

then I will take until they learn
to treat us better.

[beeping]

And no one can stop me.

Solid confession, Uncle.

Eh?

Did you get all of that, Mrs. Usman?

-[Mrs. Usman] Every bit.
-What are you doing?

Well, while you were giving

what I would say is probably
the worst of all your speeches,

everyone in Lagos was watching.

Hmm?

[gasps, groans]

Oh, my god.

A mainlander like you
could learn a lot from me.

-[grunts]
-[gasps]

[police sirens blaring]

Get out of the way!

[panting]

Ah. Oga is here. Ope oh.

[knuckles cr*ck]

-[grunts]
-[lackey groans]

[groans] Oga?

-[pattering]
-[electrical buzzing]

What are you waiting for? G-Get it now.

No. Oga has it under control.

[grunting]

[police officer]
Suspect has been apprehended.

Dispatch en route to Kirikiri Prison.

Kole. [sighs]

Oko mi. Oko mi, pele pele.

[chuckles] Oko mi atata.

[speaks indistinctly]
Oko mi, oko mi. Oko mi.

So I think after all of that happened,

I'm basically a proper Ajegunle girl now.

[chuckles] So you are.

I'm sorry for underestimating you. Mmm?

I'm sorry.

Me too.

I shouldn't have gone to the mainland
after you told me I couldn't.

So, we will both do better moving forward.
Hmm?

How you see am?

Deal.

I'm sorry, Uncle G.
It wasn't fair to trick you.

Hmm.

My madam is forgiven.

[both chuckling]

[Otin] Unable to deactivate Ija mode.

Unable to deactivate Ija mode.

Unable to deactivate Ija mode.

There are still some things to work out,
but that was a good fix.

[chuckles] Come, come. Are you sure
you want to become a doctor. Mmm?

Mm-mmm. I want do wetin you dey do, sa.

Then let's make that happen.

[gasping] Mmm.

[both chuckling]

Best friends?

Beeni. Asiko to lati lo siwaju.

But yes, definitely better moving forward.
