Whoo-hoo!

[engine chugging slows]

Bulgy the double-decker bus

thinks there should be

fewer railway tracks

and more roads on Sodor.

Here's what happened

when he tried to get his way.

[whistle toots]

All aboard for a big adventure!

"Free the Roads.

"Bulgy the Buscarries passengersaround the island. He has a...dislike of the railwayand always wants passengersto travel by road.

Psst!

Is your train late?

Wouldn't it be better

to take the roads instead?

Buses are much more reliable.

Sorry, Bulgy,

but I prefer to take the train.

What?

Hi, Bulgy!

[grunts]

-[bell dings]

-Hmph.

Free the roads

-from railway tyranny!

-Huh?

[whistle blows]

[whistle toots]

[quavers]

Free the roads!

Free the roads?

But I'm not blocking the road.

-You're blocking the rails.

-[laughs]

You can't stop

on a railway crossing.

It's dangerous!

-Bulgy!

-Oh.

Come on, Bulgy.

You can't stay there.

Sir Topham Hatt

brought you back to help me.

Exactly! And yet the passengers

still insist on going by train,

rather than by bus.

It must end!

Oh.

[chuckles]

Oh, and just how

can that happen?

Stop all the railways

from operating?

Then the buses

could save the day.

Hello, Bulgy.

Hi, Thomas.

Enjoy your water.

Hmm...

This water seems

a bit funny.

[chuckles]

Maybe that'll

block their boilers.

-[knocking sound]

-Ooh.

Oh! What's going on?

What's wrong, Thomas?

Oh!

What's happening?

Oh, no!

[coughing]

Ah, Bulgy!

You're here at last!

Thomas has suddenly taken ill.

Would you mind taking

his passengers for him, please?

Well, of course, sir.

We buses are always

happy to help.

[laughs]

Sir?

Sir!

Gordon has taken ill, too,

and Rebecca is held up

in Vicarstown!

Oh, dear.

What can we do?

[clears throat]

[laughs]

[Thomas]

Soon, Bulgywas full of passengers.

[dings bell]

Hello, Bertie!

[honks horn]

[Thomas]

He and Bertiespent most of the daycovering for any engineswhose boilers had blocked up.

Whoa, hey!

This is much more like it!

No more railways!

[dings bell]

The buses have finally won!

[dings bell]

Everything all right, Bertie?

It's all these passengers.

It's too much

for my engine.

Have no fear!

The buses are here.

[clears throat]

I mean, don't worry, Bertie.

I'll take your passengers.

We buses must stick together.

But you already have

a full load, Bulgy.

No trouble!

The more, the merrier.

I have plenty of room.

Oh, ouch.

My axles never felt

this sore before.

[pants]

But I must keep going.

-[bursting noise]

-Oh, ouch!

Oh.

My axle!

This wouldn't have happened

if we'd have traveled

by train.

Oh, that's just brilliant.

Now I'm going to be late.

You should have paid

more attention

to your loading capacity!

Oh, never wanted it

to end like this.

Why did I ever let

that bag of soil

contaminate the water tower?

[Sir Topham Hatt]

Bulgy?

Oops.

Did I say that aloud?

I thought you were trying

to help these passengers,

but it appears

you were the one responsible

for all this confusion

and delay.

Yes, sir.

I'm sorry, sir.

[Thomas]

As soon as we hadour boilers cleaned out...

-[whistle blows]

-We engineswere back on track.

Oh! So the engines

are all right again.

What about me?

Hey... where's Butch

the tow truck?

[horn blows]

[toots horn]

Don't worry, Bulgy.

I've arranged a way

for you to be taken

to the garage, too.

[chuckles]

[Thomas]

Oh, cheer up, Bulgy!

At least you can agree

that there are some things

railways are good for!

[chuckles]

Hmph.

Still think roads are better.

[whistle toots]

Everyone likes to do a job

they can feel proud of,

but that doesn't mean you have

to be the only one who does it.

Samson once decidedthat taking long trainloadsof stone to the docks byhimself would help save time, but he got into troublewhen he came to the hill. When Bulgy found a wayto stop the enginesfrom running, the work was too muchfor him and Bertie to handle.

It feels nice

when you can manage a job

all by yourself,

but sometimes,

it's important to have help,

-and that's what teamwork...

-[whistle blows]

Is all about.

Come on, Thomas!

It's time to go.
