not listening got them

into very deep trouble.

"Deep Trouble."One morning I was takingJack and Alfieto the old lead minesalong my branch line.

into a visitor's park.

the other way around

where it's more spacious.

the old mine shafts are, Monty.

- I'm a tunnel boring machine.

There's a lot more to tunnels

than just digging them,

Looks safe enough to me.

This route

will be much quicker.

But Monty was about to gethimself into deep trouble.

- [tires squealing]

I don't know

what that silly tunnel digger

was so worried about.

This ground is as hard

as the stone in my dumper bed.

- [ground rumbling]

- Ah... ooh.

[yelling]

Monty?

Where'd you go?

[coughing]

Max, come down here.

[yelps]

Just stay there.

I... I'll go and get help.

Don't move.

I'm not exactly

going anywhere.

He's gone down pretty deep,

but I can see him.

Wouldn't chance it

with Rocky, though.

The ground

might not be stable enough.

just leave him there.

- Max, something's happening.

We wouldn't just leave him

down under.

Monty may have disobeyed

the danger flags,

but we'd never leave

even a naughty truck behind.

It'll take a long time

to dig him out, though.

Even with myself,

Jack and Oliver

all working together.

- What about Darcy?

- [gasps] Yes.

Darcy can dig

a tunnel to Monty.

She's a very fast digger.

The fastest on the team.

- Darcy?

- Oh, great idea, Jack.

Go and get her, please.

Right on it, Miss Jenny.

Darcy, we need your help.

Urgently.

[Darcy]

What's wrong?

Monty has fallen

into a mineshaft.

We need you to dig him out.

- [goggles squeak]

- [sighs] I warned him,

but he didn't listen.
