ALMA: Everyone's coming over
for a cookout in our backyard.

Papi's grilling and
the food is gonna be...

ABUELO: Alma!

I just found a box of my
old stuff from Puerto Rico.

ABUELO: Ohh,
my lucky coin!

ALMA: Cool!

MAMI: Oooh.

ABUELO: Rubén,

ALMA: Was that
your apron?

ABUELO: Yep, I always used
it for our family's cookouts.

MAMI: Ooo, that's Abuela
Cecilia's tablecloth.

ABUELO: Increíble! It's my
Mami's recipe book!

ALMA: El Famoso
Mofongo de Cecilia.

ABUELO: This is her famous
recipe for mofongo!

ALMA: Mofongo?!

Mmm, mashed plantains mixed
with all sorts of good stuff.

So yummy!

Was Abuela Cecilia's

ABUELO: Oh, your
great-grandmother...

was a fantastic
cook, Alma.

around our neighborhood...

came over when she
made her mofongo.

Ohhh, I'd love to
taste it again.

MAMI: I'll make it

ABUELO: Really?!

MAMI: No problem!

I'll just follow Abuela
Cecilia's recipe.

ABUELO: Well okay!

I can't wait! My mami's mofongo
is going to be amazing!

MAMI: [laughs]
ALMA: [laughs]

MAMI: Hmm... I'm not

Abuela Cecilia's recipe
is supposed to taste.

But I guess it's ready.

MAMI: Okay, on to the next
thing on my cookout list.

ABUELO: Mmm!

Smells like
mofongo in here!

[chuckles]

ABUELO: Ahhh...

something's off with
the flavor.

Maybe it needs
more garlic.

ABUELO: Alma, hey, I'm
heading to the store.

MAMI: This ice is heavier
than I thought.

ALMA: I should tell Mami what

but she's so busy.

She doesn't have

Abuelo mentioned that
it needs more garlic,

Mami, but she was busy.

MAMI: This ice is heavier
than I thought.

ALMA: So I decided to fix
the mofongo myself...

But I only made
it waaay worse.

JUNIOR: Gah!

ABUELO: It tastes
even better!!

[chuckles]

this Mami and Alma's...

[chuckles]

ABUELO: [giggles]

EDDIE: I still have

you weren't having fun anymore.

EDDIE: Yeah, I was

ALMA: Whoa, Junior, I know
