01x10 - Picnic/The Big Parade

Post by bunniefuu »

[Cheerful melodic music]

[Bird chirping]

Look, weenie.

It's a perfect day for a nice, quiet picnic.

Ready to go, oswald?

We'll be right down, henry.

* We're going on a picnic. *

* How many will there be? *

* Well, let's just see. *

* There's me and you. *

* And you and me. *

[Knocks]

* Add henry. *

* That's three. * *

I made lunch for everybody.

Look.

Once, two, three pickled plankton sandwiches,

And, of course, plenty of napkins,

In case there's a mess.

Gosh, thanks, henry.

Everybody ready?

All set.

Then let's go.

[Horn honking]

Ding!

Dong!

Ding!

(Henry) here's the perfect spot

For a nice, quiet picnic.

Come on, weenie.

Let's spread out the picnic blanket.

Don't forget the napkins.

One.

Two.

Three.

There. We are all set.

Oh, boy.

Let's eat.

Rrr-ruff, ruff

[Watch ticking]

No, no, oswald, it's much too early.

Oh, okay.

Do you want to play ball, then?

No, thank you.

I have my newspaper to read.

Arr, ruff, ruff

It's just us, then, girl.

How about it?

Ruff, ruff, ruff

Here you go, girl.

Nice catch.

Ruff!

[Pants] ruff!

Hmm. My, my.

The salmon are swimming upstream early this year.

Hey.

There's daisy.

Let's invite her to our picnic.

Invite daisy?

But, oswald, there's only enough food for three.

One, two, three.

So we can share.

Daisy, over here.

Want to join our picnic?

I love picnics.

Count me in.

Well, okay.

With the three of us plus daisy,

That's one, two, three, four.

Four picnickers and three sandwiches.

Well,

I guess there will be enough if we share.

Is it time for lunch yet? No.

Do you want to play ball?

No, thank you. I have my newspaper to read.

Okay.

Come on, daisy. Let's play catch.

Tsk, tsk.

The price of mackerel is going up again?

Throw it to me, oswald.

Here it comes.

Rrr-ruff, ruff

Oh! Oh!

Hey, there's pongo.

Let's invite him to our picnic.

Invite pongo?

But, oswald, there's just enough food for four,

And he's so big.

So we can share.

Hey, pongo, come join our picnic.

A picnic?

Oh, boy, I love eating outside.

Well, the four of us plus pongo makes

Once, two, three, four, five.

Three sandwiches for five picnickers.

We'll have to cut them awfully small.

Is it time for lunch yet, henry? No.

Do you want to play ball, then?

Come on and play ball, henry.

Yeah, play with us.

Play with us.

No, thank you.

I have my newspaper to read.

Well, you can join us anytime.

Hmm, the trout quintet is performing tonight.

Hey.

There's madame butterfly and catrina.

Let's invite them to our picnic.

Invite madame butterfly and catrina?

Did you ever see how that little caterpillar can eat?

Oswald, there's only enough for five.

So we can share.

Madame butterfly, catrina,

Will you join our picnic?

Why, thank you, oswald.

It's a lovely day for a picnic.

Okay, so the five of us plus catrina and madame butterfly

Makes one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

Three sandwiches for seven picnickers.

I hope everybody had a big breakfast.

Can we eat now, henry?

I'm hungry.

Nope, still too early.

Do you want to--

Newspaper, oswald.

Newspaper.

Come on, everyone.

Let's play ball.

Let's see what my horoscope says.

Pisces, pisces.

[Bell dings]

Hey, here come the egg twins.

Pedal this way, brother.

Yes, yes, pedaling.

Let's invite them to our picnic.

Egbert, leo!

Good day, oswald.

Yeah, good-- good day.

We can't, oswald.

There's barely enough food for

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven picnickers.

So we can share.

No, oswald, we can't.

We can't share three sandwiches among nine picnickers.

It's impossible.

We might as well call off

The whole picnic.

I think henry's right, oswald.

There really isn't enough food to feed everybody.

Goodness, no.

I usually eat three sandwiches all by myself.

So we can get more food.

That's a great idea.

Let's do it.

Where are we going to get more food?

I can shake some apples from that tree.

Heads up, buttercup.

Got them.

Hmm, apples.

And I know where I can get a bunch of walnuts.

[Walnuts clattering]

That's great, isn't it, henry?

I suppose some walnuts are better than no walnuts.

I can whip up some dandelion salad in a jiffy.

Dandelion salad is rather tasty

With pickled plankton sandwiches.

Well, I'm afraid we don't have much to contribute.

Yes, yes, we don't.

Unless-- [snaps fingers]

Anyone likes strawberries.

Or grapes.

Or-- or--

[Together] tomatoes, of course!

Oh!

Oh, apples, walnuts, salad, strawberries, grapes, tomatoes.

Now we're getting somewhere.

(Oswald) I guess we have enough food for a picnic now.

Lucky thing I brought along plenty of napkins.

Let's see.

Seven of us plus leo and egbert makes

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.

Is it time to eat yet?

No, it's still not time yet.

Well, let's play some more ball.

Call us when it's time for lunch, henry.

[Clears throat]

Aren't you going to ask me to play?

I thought you didn't want to play, henry.

Well, I finished my newspaper, and I don't mind playing,

If I don't have to run or throw

And if I can stand in the shade and not move too much.

Okay, let's go.

Ah, this is nice and shady.

Let her rip, oswald.

[Ball whistling]

Catch it, henry.

Ah, it's finally time for lunch.

Let's eat.

Thwap, thwap

Okay, let's dig in.

* First, just three: *

* You two and me. *

* Daisy makes four; *

* Pongo, one more. *

* Six, seven, eight. *

* Isn't this great? *

* Look at us dine *

* On enough for nine. * *

[Giggles]

Ooh, I'm stuffed.

Me too.

I couldn't eat another bite.

You throw a great picnic, henry.

Row, row, ruff

(Egbert) good-bye.

(Daisy) bye, everybody.

I guess we did have enough food for everyone.

In fact, the only thing left is--

Three pickled plankton sandwiches.

So we can have another picnic tomorrow, henry.

We'll have to get more napkins.

[Bird chirping]

[Many birds chirping]

[School bell ringing]

Ruff, ruff

[Gasps]

Weenie, do you hear that music, girl?

Arf

Ruff, ruff

Oh, my gosh.

There must be a parade in big city.

Rrow, rrow

I can't see it,

But I bet it's coming our way.

Oh, boy, I love parades.

Ruff, ruff

The marching bands and the balloons

And the jugglers and the show ponies!

[Panting excitedly]

Come on, weenie.

Let's go get henry and daisy.

They won't want to miss this.

Everyone loves parades.

[Knocking]

Hello, oswald.

Hello, weenie.

Hi, henry.

We're going to the big parade.

Come on.

No, I don't think so, oswald.

I don't like parades.

Too noisy.

Besides, I'm busy

Polishing my spoon collection.

But listen, henry.

[Marching band music]

There's a marching band.

And you don't want to miss

The jugglers.

Ruff, ruff

And the acrobats

And the balloons

And the floats

And, of course, the grand marshal.

The grand marshal, you say?

Oh, the grand marshal leads the whole parade.

He tips his hat and waves to the crowd.

He's very important.

Hmm.

I'd like to see this grand marshal.

Okay, then, let's go.

Wait a minute, oswald.

If I'm going to a parade,

I need to bring along a few things.

Like this folding chair and this hat

And my knapsack.

Listen, weenie.

It sounds like it's getting closer.

Ruff, ruff!

[Humming a tune]

And some sunglasses

And this umbrella,

These binoculars and--

What am I forgetting?

Ah! Some food.

Some frozen fish pops.

Henry, we're going to miss the parade

If we don't hurry.

Just one more thing.

Mackerel muffins-- mmm!

[Henry humming]

[Humming]

There. I'm ready.

Then let's go!

Ruff, ruff!

[Marching band music playing faintly]

* *

Boing!

.

.

Look, there's daisy.

Hi, daisy.

Howdy, oswald, henry.

Rrow, rrow

Sorry, weenie--

Didn't see you down there.

.

.

Why are you counting, daisy?

I'm going for a new trampoline record:

Straight bounces.

.

We're going to the big parade.

.

Want to come with us, daisy?

.

Sorry, oswald.

I can't stop now.

.

But there'll be balloons

And ponies and jugglers.

Don't forget the grand marshal.

That's right, henry, the grand marshal.

And acrobats--

Acrobats?

I love to watch those twirly, whirly acrobats.

Okay, then. Let's go.

Wait a minute.

I need to get something.

But I have everything we need right here.

Listen, weenie.

It sounds like it's getting even closer.

[Boinging]

[Gasps] a pogo stick?

Why do you need that, daisy?

So I can see over all the crowds.

Let's po-go.

Listen.

It sound like it's heading towards fish street.

Let's go.

[Horn honking]

Oh, good.

The parade isn't here yet.

Maybe

We missed it, oswald.

No, listen.

The music is getting closer.

Well, then, I think I'll set up right here.

I'm hungry.

Fish pops, anyone?

Oh, boy, I can't wait.

Ruff, ruff!

My favorite is the jugglers.

They can balance on their nose and juggle with their toes.

Ruff, ruff

My favorite is the acrobats.

They flip and flop

And fly through the air.

[Clapping]

My favorite is the grand marshal.

He is very important.

Thank you. Thank you.

And weenie likes

The show ponies.

Ruff! [Panting]

There's something for everyone in the big parade,

And here it comes.

Oh, this is it!

[Marching band music]

Huh?

Oh, my gosh.

It's just steve tree.

Hello, there.

What's going on?

We were waiting for the parade.

Ooh, is there a parade?

* *

[Music stops]

Oswald,

The music we heard was coming from steve's radio

The whole time.

The radio?

Oh.

There is no parade, buddy-boy.

Oh, that's too bad.

I love parades.

How disappointing.

Well, got to go.

[Marching band music]

[Snapping rhythmically]

I could have been home all this time,

Polishing my spoons.

[Sighs]

And I could have set a new world's trampoline record.

[Whimpers]

Gee, I'm sorry, you guys.

I thought it was a real parade.

Hmm.

Well, I might as well pack up my things.

And I guess

I'll pogo home.

Gee, weenie.

I let everybody down.

I feel terrible.

Slurp, slurp

Ruff!

Rrr-ruff!

Say.

Henry, daisy, steve.

We can have our own parade.

What do you mean, oswald?

Our own parade?

Sure.

Steve, could you turn up that music?

Why, sure, oswald.

[Music gets louder]

* Marching along to a marching song-- *

* Here comes the big parade. *

* Bright, happy tunes *

* And giant balloons, *

* All at the big parade. *

* *

* Watch as I juggle four balls in the air. *

* And daisy's an acrobat, flipping with flair. *

Whoopee!

* Look at the pony, prancing with ease. *

* *

* And here's the grand marshal, *

* As proud as you please. *

Thank you.

Thank you.

* Barrels of fun *

* For everyone *

* Who joins in the big parade. *

* You'll have a ball. *

* There's something for all *

* Here at the big parade. * *

And here comes the band.

Now, this is what I call a parade.

Come on, steve.

Join the band.

Don't mind if I do.

* *

I'm the woodwind section.
