[Narrator] "Millie and the Volcano"

It was a bright, sunny day

on the island of Sodor,

and there were lots of visitors coming to Ulfstead Castle.

[toot toot] Morning, Thomas!

Hello, Millie!

[toot toot]

Got to go. Lots to do!

[both laugh]

And in another part of the estate...

preparations for the Earl'’s latest project

were well underway...

the dinosaur park!

Millie was helping the groundsman

bring new trees and bushes

to plant around the dinosaur models.

Samson and Harvey were working together

to put the model dinosaurs in place.

Harvey thought some of them were rather scary.

Uh, what'’s this one called, Samson?

Ah, Lexovisaurus, that is.

Are you sure?

You said the one back there was the Lexovisaurus--

with the big spikes on its tail.

Samson felt silly.

He didn'’t like it when he got things wrong.

So? I got mixed up, that'’s all.

Oh, this must be the Megalosaurus, that'’s what.

Harvey didn'’t like the look of the Megalosaurus.

He knew it was only a model, but it had very big teeth.

Oh! Oh!

[Millie screams]

They'’re not real, Millie.

-They'’re only models. -[Samson] Ha ha!

Don'’t mind her.

She probably just gets scared easily.

Ha ha! What a silly little engine.

Ha! Ha ha ha ha! There'’s nothing to be scared about.

I'’m nota silly little engine!

I'’m in charge of the Earl'’s estate railway,

and I am really useful. Hmph!

[toot toot]

Oh? What'’s up with her?

[Narrator] When the Earl saw Millie looking upset,

she told him about the dinosaur tipping towards her.

Ho ho ho ho! Millie!

That gives me an idea.

Thank you, Millie. You really are a very clever little engine.

Millie wondered what the Earl'’s idea could be.

Millie headed back to work with the groundsman.

But she was still cross

about Harvey and Samson laughing at her

and calling her a silly little engine.

Ho ho! Ho ho! Look at this one, Samson!

What kind of dinosaur is that?

Ha ha! That'’s not a dinosaur, Harvey.

That'’s a volcano.

A--A--A volcano?

That'’s right.

There were lots of volcanos in the dinosaur time.

That'’s why the Earl wants a volcano in his dinosaur park.

Oh. But, um, what'’s a volcano?

Oh. Well, a volcano is a bit like a mountain,

only it gets hot, like a huge firebox,

and smoke and lava come out of it!

Oh! Uh, that sounds dangerous.

That'’s right, Harvey.

Volcanos canbe dangerous, all right,

verydangerous.

[Narrator] Harvey didn'’t like things that were dangerous.

[Samson] Ha ha!

Harvey, you'’re scared!

I'’mnot scared of anything.

And that'’s not even a real volcano.

But Millie had seen Harvey put down the volcano...

and an idea flew into her funnel.

Later, Millie was helping the groundsman

collect up the old scrub that had been cleared away,

and take it to find a place to make a bonfire.

[toot toot]

Why don'’t you build the bonfire here?

Okay, Millie. [chuckles]

I suppose this is as good a place as any.

The groundsman started to prepare for a big bonfire...

just on the others side of the model volcano.

Harvey and Samson were still setting up the dinosaurs

when they saw something very surprising.

What'’s wrong, Samson?

The volcano. It'’s erupting!

But-- I thought you weren'’t scared of anything.

And anyway, it'’s not a real volcano.

But look at it! Look!

It'’s hot! Smoke and lava are coming out!

[gasps] Maybe it is a real volcano!

-Help! Volcano erupting! -[toot toot]

Aaah! Call Flynn! Call Belle!

Call the Sodor Search and Rescue Center!

[Millie laughing]

Silly bigengine.

Wait, Millie!

That way is too dangerous!

Millie! The volcano is erupting!

That'’s not a real volcano.

It'’s only a model.

Ha ha ha ha ho!

That'’s not the volcano.

It'’s just the groundsman'’s bonfire!

Hee hee hee hee! Tricked you!

[laughing]

[Narrator] The Earl was not pleased to hear

that Millie had played a trick on Harvey and Samson.

I'’m sorry, sir. But I only did it

because they called me a silly little engine!

That still doesn'’t make it all right, Millie.

You should know you'’re not a silly little engine,

whatever they say.

You'’re a very clever little engine, Millie.

A very clever little engine indeed.

[Narrator] At last, the dinosaur park was open

and ready for its first tour.

Right this way, sir!

Allow me, Dowager Hatt.

[sing-song] Thank you!

Uh, this won'’t be too much for Mother, will it, Sir Robert?

[laughing] Now, now, don'’t you worry, Sir Topham.

It'’s perfectly safe.

All good fun!

[toot toot]

Millie took Sir Topham Hatt and Dowager Hatt around

on the first tour.

[Dowager Hatt] Oh! I'’m looking forward to this!

Oh! Look at thatone!

[Sir Topham Hatt] I say! Look at the size of that!

It'’s amazing!

[Dowager Hatt laughing] Look at that!

[Sir Topham Hatt] My word!

Extraordinary, isn'’t it, Mother?

They were very surprised to see the volcano smoking

like a real volcano!

-Well, I'’ll be. -Oh, my!

Ho ho ho ho ho!

[Sir Topham Hatt] I like the one with the spiky tail.

[Dowager Hatt] It is all spiky.

[Sir Topham Hatt] How wonderful! I'’ve never seen...

[Narrator] But they were evenmore surprised when...

-[recorded growling] -Aaah!

[laughing]

Don'’t be frightened.

It'’s not a real dinosaur.

It'’s only a model that moves.

[laughing]

[all laughing]

We know it'’s not a real dinosaur.

But it can be fun to pretend!
