[Moose] Noggin presents Mighty Fine Art.

Welcome to the art museum.

Let's take a stroll.

I'd like to show you one of my favorite masterpieces.

I like to call them "mooseterpieces."

Today's mooseterpiece

is a painting by an artist named Mary Cassatt.

It's called "Mother and Child."

What do you see in this painting?

[child] A baby!

[child ] A mommy!

[child ] A diaper!

Stupendous.

The baby is sitting on his mother's lap.

Hey, little fella, aw...

I used to sit on my mother's lap

when I was just a little moose.

This kind of painting is called a portrait.

When you paint a portrait,

you paint a picture of a person,

especially the person's face.

Mary Cassatt liked to paint portraits

of people that she knew.

In fact, the mother and child

in this painting may have been her neighbors.

I like to paint portraits of my friends

like this one of Zee.

Whom do you like paint portraits of?

[child] My mom!

[child ] My dad!

[child ] My best friend!

I bet you're a portrait painting pro.

Thanks for joining us at the museum.

I love looking at art

with you too, Zee. [ting ting]
