[suspenseful music]

- Hmm, where is it?

I know it's in here somewhere.

[ship rumbling]

- Oh, no!
Lorelai's on that ship!

Lorelai!
Sal de ahí!

Get out of there!

Espada fuerza!

[Cecilia squeaks]

[grunts]

[ship rumbles]

Eso, Lorelai!

[Cecilia squeaks]

- [gasps]
Neptune's pearl!

- Wow.

The people of Isla Verde

will love to get their
most valuable treasure back.

[Cecilia squeaks]

- Now let's get back
to "El Bravo."

[ship rumbles]

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

[mellow music]

- Oh, jelly!
Would you be so kind

as to pour your queen
a spot of tea?

♪ ♪

What am I supposed to drink,
water?

At a tea party?

Get out of my sight.

[blows raspberry]

[groans]
Hmm.

Now, who shall be
my new number one?

Hmm...you.

Let us all cheer to me.

Salud!

[rumbling]

[gasps]

[loud crash]

[shrieks]

Who would dare ruin
Escarlata's tea party?

[mischievous music]

♪ ♪

Santiago.

- There.

I finished adding
Neptune's Pearl

to Capitán Calavera's journal.

- Whoa.

- Uh, Santi?
Lorelai?

Are you two seeing
what I'm seeing?

[upbeat tropical music]

♪ ♪

- Gracias, amigos.

♪ ♪

Hmm.

- It's a shell-phone.

[shell-phone chimes]

- Dearest Lorelai,

you are cordially invited
to attend the finceañera

of your sister, Anani,

in the kingdom of Merlandia.

- Cool!

Wait, what's a finceañera?

- It's my sister Anani's
special birthday.

It's like a quinceañera

when human girls
celebrate turning 15.

Except she's turning 300.

both: 300?

- Yeah,
when a mer-person turns 300,

they officially
become an adult.

And we throw a big party.

[somber music]

- What's wrong, Lorelai?

You love parties.

- I do.

It's just that
as Anani's sister,

I know I'll have to lead
the traditional dance

called the twirlpool,
which every mermaid knows.

And I'm terrible at it.

- What?
You're Lorelai.

You're not terrible
at anything.

- Well, I've never been
like the other mermaids.

They always thought
I was weird.

Instead of learning
traditional mermaid stuff,

I always wandered off
looking for adventure.

♪ ♪

- I know you're nervous,
Lorelai.

But we'll be right there
by your side.

To Merlandia!

all: Piratas ahoy!

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

- A finceañera, eh?

Well, since those pesky pirates
ruined my party,

I'll make sure
I destroy theirs.

[giggles]

[seagulls calling]

[upbeat tropical music]

♪ ♪

- To get to Merlandia,
we'll need to dive in

and swim through
the Great Blue Hole.

- Kiko, you stay here
with "El Bravo."

- [chatters]

[bright music]

- Bracelet of pearl,

to mermaid from girl.

♪ ♪

Bubbles of air for Tomás
and Santiago to wear.

- Ready?
Uno...

- Dos...

- Tres!

[Cecilia squeaks]

- Hey,
that wasn't so bad.

♪ ♪

[upbeat music]

- Well, here we are.

The Kingdom of Merlandia.

[dramatic music]

- Uh, Lorelai?
I don't see anything.

- Oh, right.

[vocalizes]

[ethereal music]

- [squeaks]
- Wow!

♪ ♪

Whoa!

What is that?

- It's a magical bubble
that protects Merlandia.

- I've never seen
anything like it.

- No human has.

- You mean not even the great
Capitán Calavera?

- You're the first
Pirate Protector

to ever visit
the mer-kingdom.

- Increíble!

I must write down everything
in my journal.

Lorelai, are you okay?

- I'm just nervous
of what they'll say.

They all think I'm weird.

- No, they don't.

They're gonna think
what we do--

that Lorelai is the bravest,
most courageous person

in the entire ocean.

Right, Tomás?
- Right.

You're gonna totally crush
the "twirlypoo."

- Twirlpool.
[giggles]

- That's what I said.

- Come on, we can't wait to see
where you're from.

Give us the grand tour.

- Yeah!
Which way to the party?

- Yes, Tomás.

Which way to the party indeed?

[chimes tinkling]

Slowpokes!
[sighs]

Escarlata will be back
for you later.

- This path we're on cuts
through the entire city center

and ends in the town square.

- What's that?

- Those are the Growers.

They make our food.

[upbeat tropical music]

When a mer-person comes of age,

they get to choose
between four jobs:

Grower, Builder, Seller,
or Speaker.

- So your sister Anani
will be choosing her job?

- Exactly.

After the dance, she'll make
a formal announcement.

Those are the Builders.

They are responsible for all
the buildings in Merlandia

and for painting
our colorful homes.

And those are the Sellers.

They have anything
and everything

you could ever look for.

- Slow your seahorses,
Lorelai.

I'm drawing as fast as I can.

And that's our town hall

where the speakers uphold
the values and beliefs

of the mer-people.

- Whoa.

What's that?

- The Scepter of the Seas.

It's our most
prized possession.

It releases a force so powerful
it keeps the whole city safe.

Without it, we'd need an army
to protect us.

- Wow.

All that power
in one little stick?

- No!

The scepter of the Seas
is far more powerful

than any ordinary stick.

In the wrong hands,
it would be very, very bad.

- Ooh.

- Now, what have I missed?

[mer-people whispering]

[soft dramatic music]

I knew this would happen.
Look at them.

They're all staring at me.

I told you they think
I'm weird.

[mer-people whispering]

- They're not looking at you.

They're looking at Tomás and I.

- Do I have something
on my face?

- No, primo, at our legs.

both: Ooh.

- Whoa.
- See, Lorelai?

We're the weird ones here.
Not you.

But I actually kind of like it.

[upbeat music playing]

♪ You've got fins ♪

♪ And I've got feet ♪

♪ It makes us different,
you and me ♪

♪ ♪

♪ But fins are cheveré ♪

♪ And feet are cool ♪

♪ They both get us
to move, move, move ♪

♪ I can wiggle all my toes ♪

♪ You can spin and twirl
with those ♪

♪ Salsa dance
and "twirlypoo" ♪

Let's count and we'll see

that we're not

and give my daughter a hug.

Oh, it seems like
only yesterday

you were my
two little guppies.

both: Dad.

- Fine.

- Meet my friends.

This is the talented Tomás.

And our capitán,
the amazing Santiago.

- Happy birthday, Anani.

Thank you for having us.

- Sorry.
I'm a hugger.

- And so nice to meet you,
Mr. Lorelai.

- Please,
call me Martín.

You're quite the musician.
[gasps]

Perhaps you can play us
something at the party, eh?

- [gasps]
The party!

It's almost time and I still
have to put on my tiara

and get ready.

- You're going
to look beautiful, Anani.

- Thanks, little sis.

Did I mention how amazing it is
you're here?

Oh, and I can't wait
to see you dance the twirlpool.

- The festivities await!

- Vámonos!

- Escarlata is going
to get that scepter.

And then not only will I ruin
the meddlesome mermaid party,

I will rule the seas!

[giggles]

[upbeat music]

[indistinct chatter]

♪ ♪

[record scratching]

- Welcome, family,
welcome, friends,

to my daughter Anani's
finceañera.

I can't believe
my little girl's already 300!

[sighs]

Now, before the guest of honor

makes her official
announcement,

prepare to be dazzled
by her amazing damas

and their rendition of our
beloved twirlpool dance.

- Okay, Lorelai,
don't mess this up.

Anani's counting on you.

[cheers and applause]

- Whoo-hoo!

[classical music playing]

♪ ♪

[cheers and applause]

♪ ♪

- Whoa!

[grunts]

- [gasps]
- Oh, no!

I can't look.
[Cecilia squeaks]

- Oh, no!

I'm so sorry, Anani.

- Lorelai!

[emotional music]

♪ ♪

- [sighs]

[sobs]

[Cecilia squeaks]

Oh, Cecilia.

- Lorelai?
Are you okay?

- I knew I was going
to mess it up.

- It's okay,
Lorelai.

Everyone makes mistakes.

The important thing
is that you tried.

- Yeah, and you did great
before the falling part.

- I ruined Anani's finceañera.

- [cackles maniacally]

Well,
isn't this just perfect?

The mopey mer-girl

helping me destroy
her own sister's party.

- Escarlata la Pirata!

- Oh, no!
The Scepter of the Seas!

- Time to see
what this scepter can do.

[energy crackles]

[dramatic music]

- Oh, no!
Our shield!

- Jellies!

You need a mega makeover!

Ha!
[energy crackles]

♪ ♪

- Oh, no!
- [gasps]

- Time to finish
what Lorelai started.

You crash this party
and I'll handle the big reveal.

♪ ♪

both: Whoa!

♪ ♪

- [gasps]
Gasping guppies!

She's going to release
the Kraken!

- You go after the scepter,
Lorelai.

We'll deal with the jellies.

- Aye, aye, Capitán.

[dramatic music]

[mer-people screaming]

♪ ♪

- Oh!
- [giggles]

♪ ♪

[energy crackles]

♪ ♪

- Primo, it's so dark.
What do we do?

- Look!
They're drawn to the light!

That gives me an idea.

Just make sure you've got
your guitar ready.

[dramatic music]

Espada brilla!

Over here, jellies!

Mira, it's working!

The light is attracting them
all to one place!

Tomás,
use your power chord

and blow them all away.

♪ ♪

[power chord blares]

♪ ♪

[triumphant music]

[cheers and applause]

- Thank you,
Santiago and Tomás.

You've both saved the day.
That was so brave!

I've never seen anything
like it!

Where's Lorelai?
I thought she was with you.

- She's the one saving the day.

The evil Escarlata
has gotten her greedy hands

on the Scepter of the Seas.

- Oh, no, Lorelai!

♪ ♪

[intense music]

- Bumbling Barnacles.

Where is that
sneaky jelly girl?

- Lorelai!

There you are!

You had me so worried!

- Go back to the party,
Anani.

It's not safe out here.

I know Escarlata.

She is nothing but trouble.

[Cecilia squeaks]

- But I'm your big sister.
You can't do this alone.

You know how dangerous
the scepter is.

- Oh, but it's so much fun!

[cackles]

[mischievous music]

both: [gasp]
The Kraken!

- She's controlling the Kraken
with the scepter!

- I won't let you get away
with this, Escarlata.

- Let me handle this,
little sis.

- Anani, stop!

That's a bad idea!

- She's right.
It was a bad idea.

[energy crackles]

- Anani!

- [vocalizes]

- [gasps]
[energy booms]

[both grunting]
Are you okay?

- Yeah,
I'm just all tangled up.

- I came here
to ruin your party,

but now,

I think I'll rule Merlandia
instead.

[Cecilia squeaks]
- Cecilia.

We're okay,
but we're stuck.

Go warn the others.

[Cecilia squeaks]

- I'm sorry,
Lorelai.

I should have let you
handle Escarlata.

You're the hero,
after all.

Everyone knows it.

- Everyone?

They don't think I'm weird?

- Of course not!

You're special,
and special people have gifts.

Yours just so happens
to be saving the day.

Not the twirlpool.
[laughs]

- [laughs]

- So use those gifts
to get us out of here

so you can save Merlandia.

♪ ♪

- [vocalizes]

Let's go, big sis.

Let's save Merlandia together.

[Cecilia squeaks]

[Cecilia squeaking]

- Come on, primo,
Lorelai needs our help!

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

[Kraken roars]

- Out of my way, peasants!

♪ ♪

Merlandia is mine now!

[energy charges]

♪ ♪

- Don't you ever get tired
of being so mean?

- Kraken, get her.

[Kraken roars]

♪ ♪

- The twirlpool!

Lorelai, you did it!

- I did?

I did!

[Kraken roars]

♪ ♪

Damas assemble!

If we all twirlpool together,

we can use the dance
to tangle its tentacles up.

- You got it, Lorelai.

- Let's do this!
- Yeah!

♪ ♪

- [grunts]

[Kraken roars]

♪ ♪

Oh, no!

This was not a part
of Escarlata's plan.

♪ ♪

- Lorelai,
she still has the scepter!

- Bubbles of the sea,
bring Escarlata back to me!

♪ ♪

[energy crackles]

It's not working.

I need more strength.

- [vocalizes]

all: [vocalizing]

- [cackles]

- We need to all help Lorelai.

Amigos, you too.

Sing louder.

Say, "Canta, más alto."

all: [vocalizing]

- Ugh!
This thing must be broken!

- It's working!

One more time.

Canta más alto!

all: [vocalizing]

- [shouts, screams]

[triumphant music]

You haven't seen the last
of Escarlata!

[bell chimes]

[upbeat music]

- You did it,
Lorelai!

♪ ♪

- Thank you, mija.

Magic bubble dome,

protect our home.

[dome whooshing]

[Kraken roars]

♪ ♪

- That was magnificent,
Lorelai!

The way you, like,
whoosh!

And then pow, pow, pow!

It was just the coolest thing
I've ever seen.

both: [laugh]

[cheers and applause]

- The time has come
for the finceañera

to finally announce her job
here in Merlandia.

You ready, tesoro?

♪ ♪

- Thanks, Dad.

And thanks, everyone,
for coming.

My finceañera was definitely
a little weird.

But weird is great.

I love weird.

- [laughs]

- As many of you know,

I have a knack
for talking too much.

So it should come
as no surprise

that for my job
here in Merlandia,

I choose...

Speaker.

[cheers and applause]

[chord plays]

- Another awesome pirate
adventure, me hearties!

all: Piratas ahoy!

[Cecilia squeaks]

- Yay!
