of pirate tag.

- [giggles]

[both gasp]

- Slippery sea slugs,
you can't catch us.

- You guys are fast.

Let's take the slide.

- [giggles]

I'm going to catch you.

[laughter]
both: Whoo-hoo!

- Oh, no, our painting.

- Maybe you should hang it
on something stronger.

[chiming]

- Perfecto.

[mysterious music]

Whoa.

What is this?

- El Escondite
is always full of fun

and wonderful surprises waiting
to be discovered.

- I've got to check this out.

[suspenseful music]

Qué es esto?

Just an empty room.

[Kiko squeaks]

Yeah, I wonder what
this room is for.

♪ ♪

[magical chime]

Oh, boy.

Hey.

A pirate playground?

- Coquí. Coquí.

- [grunts, laughs]

♪ ♪

Tomás and Lorelai
will love this.

[Pepito humming]

- ♪ I love my place ♪

♪ It's got lots of space ♪

[chuckles] Stop.

Hammock time.

[hammock creaks]

[screams. gasps]

♪ On second thought,
I don't like this spot ♪

♪ 'Cause I'm covered in mud
and fell with a dud ♪

♪ And now I have dirt
on my... ♪

[cries]

What was I thinking making
a soggy cave my bedroom?

I need to go find
a home that matches

my flair, my fabulousness.

Ooh, going to need those...

and these.

[mysterious music]

Let's go.

- Wait till you see this.

I give you
the pirate playground!

[quirky music]

- I don't see anything.

Do you see anything?

- No, primo.

There was something here.

You just have
to step on that tile,

and it magically appears.

- Sparkling seashells.

Let's try it.

[magical chime]

both: [gasp] Whoa.

- Gasping guppies,
the art studio of my dreams.

- I thought it was supposed
to be a pirate playground.

- Well, a pirate playground
is my perfect dream.

- And this art studio was mine.

- So that must mean
whoever steps on the tile

gets their perfect room.

- My turn!

[magical chime]

Look at all these instruments.

[drums playing]

all: The music room is awesome.

- Which room do
we play in first?

- Since we can only do
one room at a time,

I think we should take turns.

- You've seen our rooms,
but we haven't seen yours yet.

Let's do the pirate playground,
then the art studio,

and then the music room?

- Buena idea,Lorelai.

- Sounds good to me.

- Yeah.
- All right.

[mischievous music]

- Let's see.
I can live in that tree.

No, not big enough.

Under that rock.

[laughs]

Not my style.

It needs to be...
♪ Grand ♪

♪ ♪

Oh! Look at that.

It's magnificent.

That's the kind
of space I need.

Oh, the dance parties
I throw for me, myself, and I.

A wall for my instruments
and a view.

Well, I must check it out.

This is it, a place better
than all other places.

wide open spaces ♪

♪ We all need
to find our oasis ♪

♪ We all need a space
to feel like our own ♪

♪ To make us feel safe
and feel right at home ♪

Lute solo!

[strumming lute]

This must be the
Pirate Protectors' hideout.

Why are they always around?

- And who exactly are you?

- [chuckles] Who am I?

Who are you?

- I am El Guardián, a friend
to the Pirate Protectors,

master of puzzles, keeper of--

- You talk too much.

[muffled speech]

That's better.

This place is too good
to give up.

Now, where are those
irksome good pirates

so I can kick them out
and take over their hideout?

[upbeat music]

- All done. What's next?

- I'm still not done
with my painting.

It needs something.

Ah, more glitter.
[giggles]

- More glitter?

But it's everywhere.

Besides, it's time to go
to my music room.

[vocalizing drum beats]

- I was actually
thinking we can go

back to the pirate playground

since we've been
sitting so long.

- But my room was next.

- [whimpers] Coquí.

- Tomás is right.

His room's next.
- Thank you.

- But I'm not done yet.

- What?
- Oh, coquí.

- Lorelai, we've already
been doing this a while.

[magical chiming]

- Tomás.

- Coquí, coquí.

- Come on. It'll be fun.

Here, take the mic.

[magical chiming]

Primo.

- You two should not have
stepped on it

without us discussing it first.

[magical chiming]

- It's my turn.
- No, mine.

- My turn.
- Coquí. Coquí. Coquí.

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

all: [gasp] You broke it.

- I didn't break it.
- Did too.

- You both broke it.
- Hmm?

Ah, there they are.

[suspenseful music]

- Now no one can
enjoy anything.

♪ ♪

- Coquí. Coquí.

- [chuckles]

♪ Maniacal laughing ♪

- Pepito?

- My, this room is boring.

But I hope you enjoy it,
because you're going

to be here a while.

♪ ♪

Finally.

♪ This place is mine ♪

♪ Fun places to climb,
areas to unwind ♪

Take it away, tiny bird.

It's your moment.

- [muffled speech]

- Nothing? OK.

♪ No pirate's life for me ♪

♪ And that's perfectly fine ♪

[sighs] Oh, yeah.
[strums lute]

Oh, yeah.

I could get used to this.

- [grunts] Rayos.

Pepito locked us in.

- Cackling clams.

The room's broken
and now we're stuck in here.

- This just gets
worse and worse.

[somber music]

♪ ♪

I'm sorry, mateys.

I should have been
better at sharing.

- I wasn't good
at sharing either.

Lo siento mucho, amigos.

- Me three.

I think it's safe
to say we all needed

to be better at sharing.

[magical chiming]
- [gasps] Mira.

OK, I didn't do that.

- The tile's fixed.

It responded to our friendship.

We came together,
so it did too.

- Strong work, me hearties.

Now let's take back
El Escondite.

- But how do we get out?

- Maybe we can use the power
of a room to help.

- Which one?

- All of them.

- Uno, dos, tres.

[upbeat music]

all: Uepa!

- We need to get
through that door.

Tomás, how about a power cord?

- How about five?

- Estupendo.

That should loosen the vines.

Then I can swing through
the door and break us out.

- And then I'll take care
of that fiendish fawn.

- OK, let's do this.

- Power cord!

[power chord blares]

[adventurous music]

- A la aventura!

Avast, Pepito!

- [gasps]

- Give us our hideout back.

- Hmm.

Nah, don't think so.

This is my home now.

Finders keepers.

[dramatic music]

- Now, Lorelai.

- Glitter bubble,
get rid of this trouble.

♪ ♪

- Nooo!

Gah! Glitter gets everywhere.

Meh, I can make this work.

[chuckles mischievously]

- Guardián, are you OK?

- I am now.

I couldn't take one more
second of that lute.

- Bubbling barnacles.

I'm glad you're OK.

- And I'm glad we got
El Esconditeback.

- And you did it
by working together.

[upbeat music]

- Another awesome pirate event.

Wait. Where's Kiko?

[cheerful music]

- [squeaks happily]

♪ ♪

- Camarón Pequeño,
Problemas Grandes.

[seagulls squawking]

[upbeat music]

Ahoy, mateys.

Today, we're exploring
tide pools.

They're pools of water
near the shore

where all kinds
of cool sea life live.

Look at this shell.

Whoa. Didn't see you there.

[hermit crab squeaks]

- Careful, Capitán.

Any shell or rock could be
a sea creature's habitat.

We wouldn't want to do
anything to disturb their home.

- Lo siento,matey.

I didn't mean to bother you.

Hey, primo,what do you see
in the tide pools?

- Tons!

A sea star, some barnacles,

a sea anemone, a hermit crab,

oysters, minnows,

mussels, a sea slug,

a sea urchin...

[gasps] And a beautiful rock.

Ooh, sparkly.

Hey.

- [gasps] A shell phone.

Thank you.
[shell phone chimes]

- You are cordially invited
to Merlandia

for the grand opening
of Martín's Paleta Palace.

Little sis, Dad'spaletas
are delightfully delicious!

Get your tail here quick.

- Did she say paletas?

- The fruitiest,
tastiest Popsicle treats?

This must be my lucky day,

which means
you're my lucky rock.

- You heard Anani.

Let's go. [giggles]

- Let's use La Chispa.

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

- Ahh!

[anxious vocalizing]

[dramatic music]

[screams]

♪ ♪

[bubbling scream]

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

- [sings mermaid call]

- I can't wait to try
every flavor of paleta--

salty seaweed caramel,
very-berry barnacle...

- [chirps]

[thud]

[tense music]

Hmm.

[barrier warbles]

[muttering]

[cr*ck, boom]

[grumbles]

[indistinct chatter]

- As speaker, it's my honor
to announce the grand opening

of Martín's Paleta Palace!

[cheers and applause]
- That's my dad!

- [chuckles]

Gracias, princesas.

Welcome, everyone.

- Oof.

- Ah, Tomás, my first customer.

That means you get
extra toppings.

- [gasps]

You sure are lucky, lucky rock.

- [grumbling]

Hmm?

[grunting]

[crash]

- Now, who wants to see
where the paletasare made

and taste all the flavors? - I
do!

- Fintastic.
- Por supuesto.

- I keep getting luckier
and luckier.

- Voila.

I built it myself.

This part mixes
the ingredients.

This freezes them.

And this pours them
into the mold.

Isn't she wonderful?

- Increíble.

[suspenseful music]

- [grumbles]

[grunts]

[grunting]

Hmm-hmm.

[electricity crackling]

[cracking]

[whirring]

Uh-oh.

[crashing]
[shrimp screaming]

[all gasp]
Whoa!

- My machine! Quick.

Anani, help.

Oh, no. It's full of holes.

- Gasping guppies.

What could have done this?

- Oh, my grand opening
is ruined.

- Don't worry, Dad.

We'll help clean up
and fix your machine.

- Yeah, good pirates
always help their mateys.

- Thank you all.

- Cackling clams, another hole
like the ones in the machine.

- Whatever did this must
have escaped through there.

- And now it's loose
in Merlandia!

- OK, me hearties,
we've got a mystery to solve

and to store to fix.

Tomás, you get the coral glue.

Lorelai and I will find
whatever's making these holes.

all: Piratasahoy!

[suspenseful music]

♪ ♪

- [grunts]

[grumbles]

- Here's the hole.

- Mira.Are those tracks?

Espada, brilla!

- Sparkling seashells.

Tiny tracks.

- They're a clue.

Let's follow them.

- Hola, señora.

I'm looking
for some coral glue.

- Let me take a look.

[mischievous music]

- [sighs]

♪ ♪

- Oh, I'm pretty sure
we're all out.

Ooh, wait.

Here's one hidden behind
the sea sponges.

It's your lucky day.

- It sure is,
thanks to my lucky rock.

- [squeaks]

[grumbles]

[screams]

Oof.
[seahorse snorts]

- Hola, caballito.

Sorry, I can't stay.

Official business.

- [grumbles angrily]

[crash]

[seahorses whinny]

- ♪ Got my lucky rock ♪

♪ Got the coral glue ♪

♪ Going to fix the shop,
eat paletastoo ♪

- Snapping sea turtles.

There's a hole
in the bubble dome too.

- What could be strong enough
to get through the barrier?

- I don't know,
but I better fix it.

[sings mermaid call]

Do you think whatever it is
is still inside Merlandia,

or did it leave?

[crowd shouting]
- [gasps]

- I think it's still here.

[tense music]

[shouting]
[seahorses whinnying]

They need our help.

We've got to wrangle
those seahorses.

Let's get them back to the pen.

- Aye, aye, Capitán.

[gasps]

[seahorse neighs]

- Tranquilo.

[seahorse neighs]
Giddy up, matey.

Espada, fuerza!

[dramatic music]

[seahorse neighs]

Eso.

- Mermaid call,
make a bubble wall.

[sings mermaid call]

♪ ♪

Whoa. Whoa, seahorsey.

It's OK.

♪ ♪

Capitán?

- Bien hecho,Lorelai.

♪ ♪

Mira,Lorelai.

The hole puncher was here.

- First, it entered
through the barrier.

Then it came
to the paletasshop.

Then it came
to the seahorse pen.

What is it after?

- Mira,more tiny tracks.

It's following
these footprints.

- Oh, no.
- What?

- There's only two people
with feet in all of Merlandia,

you and Tomás.

- The hole-puncher must be
after Tomás,

and he's headed back to...

both: The paletasshop!

- Anani, Mr. Lorelai's dad,

I got the glue.

[mischievous music]
- [grunting]

♪ ♪

[grumbles]

[grunts] Hmm.

♪ ♪

[crash]

[wood creaking]

both: Tomás, look out!

- [gasps]

- Ahh!

[grunts]

[sign crashes]

- Huh?

- Tomás!

Are you all right?

- I'm OK.

My lucky rock saved me.

[shrimp thuds]

Or did you save me?

- Why, that's a mantis shrimp.

[chuckles] I should have known.

These little crustaceans
pack quite a punch.

He must have been the one
putting holes everywhere.

But why is it all
the way out here?

- I think he's after
my lucky rock.

- Tomás, where'd
you get that rock?

- The tide pool this morning.

- Oh, you didn't hear
Lorelai say that

any seashell or rock
in a tide pool

could be a sea creature's home.

That rock must be where
the mantis shrimp lives.

- [squeaks]

- You were just trying
to get your house back.

I'm sorry, Mr. Shrimp.

- [squeaks happily]

- We'd better return him
and his house to the tide pool.

- Right after we help everyone
clean up this mess.

- Mm-hmm.

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

[laughter]
- Thanks.

- Reopening is
a soaring success.

- And luck had nothing
to do with it.

[laughter]
