Beautiful!

First place!

[All cheering]

[Sighing happily ]

Farmer Bear's Tomato

Festival.

My favorite summer tradition.

Me too, Ari!

Tomato food, tomato games--

And tomato clothes!

See how my scarf is red like a

tomato?

Cool.

Attention please!

Anyone who wants to enter the

Tomato Drop Contest, follow me

to the contest area now.

[Gasping]

The tomato drop contest!

Awesome!

Come on, let's go!

[Whistling]

Welcome to the Tomato Drop!

The first two teams who can drop

a tomato from the top of this

ladder safely without

splattering it, will win a

prize.

[Giggling]

[Kids cheering]

Each team gets three tomatoes,

and you can build anything you

like, to try to keep them from

splattering.

Did everyone bring supplies?

Yep.

BOTH: Uh-huh.

Great!

Then let's get this contest

started.

Are you ready?

Go-mato!

[Chuckling]

Okay, I've got a great idea!

We take two slices of bread, and

tie 'em around the tomato to

cushion it when it drops.

It's a sandwich and a cushion!

Bread might be too crumbly,

Ari.

Eh, you're right.

How 'bout a donut?

Hm, let's call that Plan B.

[All laughing]

I have an idea, too.

I got tape, some springs, and

a box!

What if we take these squishy

springs I brought and tape them

to the outside of this box?

Then we put the tomato inside.

Oh, so, when we drop the

tomato, it'll bounce instead of

splatting on the ground?

Hopefully!

Okay, let's try it!

Springs.

Now some tape.

Done!

And now the tomato.

Let's go!

Farmer Bear?

Ooh-hoo!

That's one springy box!

Ready when you are.

Ready?

[Gasping]

Whoa.

Hey, come back here!

Gotcha!

Let's see what'cha got!

[Elinor sighing]

Tomato goop?

I think it bounced around too

much.

Well, don't give up.

You still have two more

tomatoes!

Farmer Bear?

We're ready to try!

Look, the Lamb sisters are

using their soft wool to keep

the tomato from squishing!

Good luck!

Stand back!

Cool!

Wow!

ARI: It didn't splat!

[All cheering]

Nicely done!

Our first winners!

We'll give the prizes at the

end.

Now there's only one prize

left.

If only we had some wool!

We don't have to do the same

thing.

There must be more than one safe

way to drop a tomato.

[Wind howling]

Oh!

Dandelion fluff is nice and

soft, just like the wool.

[Gasping]

What if we use this to cushion

the tomato?

Oh, yeah!

ELINOR: But we'll need a lot

of it.

Then we'd better get

fluffin'!

[Giggling]

[Giggling]

Okay, I think we have enough

fluff.

[Wind blowing]

Oh, the fluff is getting

away!

Nothing a little tape can't

fix.

All done!

Farmer Bear?

Yes, Ari?

Can we try again?

Absolutely!

This time we've got the right

stuff!

Or should I say, the right

fluff?

[Both laughing]

Check this out!

Aw, it smooshed again!

I guess we didn't use enough

fluff.

See, you learn something,

even when they do smoosh.

Keep trying!

Keep trying, sure, but we

only have one tomato left!

That's okay.

We only need one safe drop!

Let's keep thinking.

What else can we try?

[Gasping]

[Wind blowing]

Hm.

Look at that leaf!

What about it?

It fell really slowly!

Look, I'll show you.

[Wind blowing]

That is slow.

A leaf falls slowly, but a

tomato falls fast.

Huh.

That's so interesting!

Too bad it isn't the other

way around.

If our tomato fell slowly, maybe

it wouldn't go splat.

Yes!

I wonder if there's a way to

help our tomato fall slowly too?

either fell fast or fell slow.

The leaf goes here, in the

slow pile.

Okay, first, the pinecone.

ALL: Fast!

Next, the paper.

[Wind blowing]

ALL: Slow!

Now let's try the twig.

ALL: Fast!

Huh.

I wonder what would happen if we

dropped my scarf?

Let's try it!

ARI & OLIVE: Slow!

ELINOR: Very slow!

It looks like it's catching the

air as it falls.

So, we have two things that

fell fast the pine cone and the

twig, and three that fell

slowly.

The leaf, the paper and my

scarf which was the slowest of

all!

I wonder what would happen

if we taped your slow-falling

scarf to our tomato.

Yeah, maybe the tomato would

fall more slowly, too?

Okay, the scarf fell slowly

like a parachute, so we should

try to tape it to the tomato

that way.

OLIVE: We can tie a string to

each corner of the scarf and

tape the other ends to the

tomato.

Yes, let's try it!

I'll get the string.

Cool, and now the tape.

Oh, no.

We're out of tape!

Now, how can we attach the

strings to the tomato?

Hm.

My donut!

Ari, this is no time for a

snack!

Oh, yes it is.

We can tie the strings to the

donut!

Awesome!

[Giggling]

We're ready to try it!

Aww, good effort, Sally.

Farmer Bear, we have one more

try!

BOTH: Oh, I can't watch!

Two.

One.

Soccer is a wonderful game where

you play with a ball in all

kinds of different ways.

You can run with it...

[Grunting]

your body, but the only thing

you can't do is use your hands,
