Hey, wait for me!

[dance music plays]

One and two now whirl and twirl.

Wings open wide, let's glide, glide, glide.

Oh, that was so beautiful, Robyn!

What're you doing?

Thanks, Starling.

I'm creating a dance routine

for the "Space Dancing Show"

set to DJ Hawk's awesome music.

Yo, Yo, Yo!

DJ Hawk bringin' da noise!

So, um, you'll be dancing... in space?

Yep. Every year the school puts on a big show!

We soar, cut our engines,

and use our thrusters to dance in space.

Ooh! I wanna do that, too!

Okay. Wanna try a few steps?

Just follow my lead.

It's one and two, now whirl and twirl.

Wings open wide, let's glide, glide, glide!

Okay, it's, um, one and two,

now whirl and glide and...

Oh, no!

Help!

Oh, I'm sorry, Starling.

It's a lot easier

if you do the moves to music.

Hit it, Hawk!

Uh, one and two, now whirl and twirl.

Wings open wide,

let's glide, glide, glide.

That's it, Starling.

You're getting it!

Uh-oh! Ooh!Hey, sprout!

I didn't know you were in the Space Dancing Show.

Well, I'm not quite ready to dance in space just yet.

Maybe, but if you keep practicing your steps, you'll get it!

Say, why don't you join Coot's Safety Team?

They'll be watching over things during the show.

You'll have a front row seat to all the action!

Whoa, awesome!

Safety Team,

we must prepare ourselves

for the Space Dancing Show.

But, first, please welcome

the newest member of our group,

Cadet Starling.

Safety Crew! Yo-ho!

But this is no free flight

to fairyland, Starling.

Safety Cadets must always be prepared!

You've got to be up to speed

on your rescue techniques and materials.

Yahoo!

Oh, uh, I mean, uh, "Yo-ho."

So, who can tell me which safety materials

we should have in space at all times?

Safety tow cables!

Okay.

Say that a racer is drifting in space,

out of control,

what do you do?

Throw them a tow line.

And then what?

Safety Cadet Starling?

Pull them out of harm's way?

Not bad, Miss Smartywings!

Yo-ho! Yo-ho!

Now, let's see how you all perform

your special flying requirements,

Safety Cadets.

Um, uh...special flying requirements?

Coot: Members of our Safety Team

must be able to land anytime, anywhere.

Landing?

Well, what's so hard about that?

Nothing is so hard about landing --

if you can land in this amount of space!

Uh, wha...

Cadets who've already mastered

the art of a short landing,

you may be excused.

Uhm, how do I short land?

Easy! Just follow these simple steps:

Put your flaps down. Nose and toes down.

Brakes last, but better brake fast.

Reverse engines.

Okay, put your flaps down.

Nose down. Toes down.

Um...well...

Brake last. Brake fast.

Reverse, uh, engines?Not bad!

So, think you can learn

to short land by tomorrow...

on rough terrain?

Uhm, yes, Mr. Coot, sir.

You can count on me!

That's the racer spirit.

Good luck!

Oh, good luck?

[sigh] I'll need it.

And maybe some help from my friends.

Sure, we'll show you a few tips

on the art of short landing, Starling.

Good, because there's a lot of steps to remember.

Coming in!

Go for it!

Okay, put your flaps down.

Nose and toes down.

Whoa!

But better brake fast!

Reverse engines -- Eeek!

Pffft! Pffft!

[sighs] I'll never learn this!

It isn't easy. But we mastered it.

Been there...

...done that.

Hawk: Short landing!

Eagle: Let's do this thing!

[crash]

Ava: Starling, perhaps it will

help your confidence to know that Hawk and Raven

also had difficulty at first.

We messed up a little.

But the important thing to remember

is that we did learn to short land.

How did you learn, Hawk?

Well, I spent a lotta time

repeating the steps that Coot taught us.

Ah! Repeat the steps a lot.

Just like I did with Robyn

when I was learning her dance steps!

Oh, well, how about you, Raven?

How did you learn?

Well, I would just imagine myself

actually landing.

So you imagined yourself

doing the moves?

That's a great idea, too.

In two weeks I had the short landing

down perfectly!

Just three weeks for me.

[Gasps] Weeks?

I don't have weeks to learn this --

the Space Dancing Show is tomorrow!

I know. DJ Hawk -- that's yours truly --

is providing the groove!

Y'know, Hawk,

when I was dancing with Robyn the other day,

your music helped me learn her dance steps.

So why don't we do that again?

Sure! Let's try it!

Music, DJ Hawk.

Uh, put your flaps down.

Nose and toes down.

Brakes last, but better brake fast.

Reverse engines.

Hey, this could work!

Put your flaps down.

Nose and toes down.

Brakes last...

[crowd cheering]

Coot: Ladyjets and Gentlemenjets,

welcome to Stardust Space Academy's

exciting "Space Dancing Show!"

[crowd cheering]

And now, let the show begin!

Remember Safety Cadets, be alert.

Yo-ho!

Cut your engines, everyone.

And dance, dance, dance!

Yeah! Woo!

Uh-huh! Ho!

Woo!Ohhhhhh!

Wow, they're so awesome!

They're pretty fancy, aren't they?

Only one way to make this better.

Crank up the music!

Hawk! Too loud!

[crowd cheering]

[gasps] Ava, Safety Cadet Starling reporting!

I can see a bunch of meteoroids coming --

are they dangerous?

Ava: Keen observation, Starling.

Meteoroid field is indeed on a collision course

with Space Racers.

Safety maneuvers are recommended.

Heh-heh! Nice moves there, Starling.

No, no, no, Mr. Coot, I'm not dancing!

Look! Look up there! See?

Oh, dear!

It's a hail of meteoroids!

Calling all Safety Cadets!

Safety Cadets? Come in, please!

No one is responding!

Uh, they can't hear us over the music!

I'd better go warn them.

Starling, there's no time!

We've got to initiate a space rescue!

Do you remember the plan?

Uh-huh. Throw cables to the fliers and tow them to safety!

We'll base ourselves on that meteoroid!

Starling, I need your help!

You'll have to land here.

Put your flaps down. Nose and toes down.

Brakes last, but better brake fast.

Reverse engines.

No, this near-disaster was not planned!

But thanks to Starling's safety skills,

you can all dance another day.

Well, I had some help.

with a little space dancing now, Starling?
