Hey, wait for me!

Thanks for helping me patch up

this old satellite, Hawk.

Sure, Coot.

Hand me my ratchet wrench, please.

Thank you, Cadet.

(humming)

Boy! Technology sure has come a long way

since we put this little guy into orbit.

(AVA sighing)

AVA, is something wrong?

(AVA) Oh, nothing.

This satellite just reminds me of someone.

Really? Who?

(AVA) My old friend Questy.

Ah, the navigational computer system

from the inactive Quest One space station.

Yes, I just wish we could talk again sometime.

I miss her.

I know how you feel.

When I was a little rocket,

I had a best friend named Budgey.

We used to do everything together...

until, one day, Budgey's family moved away.

Now I miss her, too.

Perhaps we will both see our friends again someday.

Hmmm... Hey, AVA! Maybe I can help you!

Let me drive you there for a visit.

We'll fly back to the Quest One space station

so you two old friends can catch up for a while!

What a wonderful idea!

Our work is nearly done here.

It's fine. You two can go now.

Thank you. Thanks, Coot!

Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!

According to my projections,

we should be approaching Quest One.

Right about... now!

There it is!

Surprise! Surprise!

(Questy) Who has entered my control room?

Hello, Questy. It is me, AVA.

AVA, is that really you?

Yes. Hawk brought me here to visit.

AVA, Hawk, you came back!

Yes, we have. I missed you.

I have missed you, too.

There is so much to talk about!

I have become a big "Captain Cosmos" fan

ever since you left me all those episodes to watch.

(laughing)

What's your favorite?

That is easy-- when Captain Cosmos

and Mr. Splurk are marooned on the dwarf star

Bingo-Bongo .

I love that one, too.

Why don't I take a little nap?

I'll just plug myself into Questy's motherboard

so you can both talk while I'm sleeping.

I am so happy you are here, AVA.

And I am so happy to be here, Questy.

And my operating system has already been upgraded

times this year.

That is wonderful.

(Hawk snoring) It must be nice to keep your system up to date.

(snoring continues) Yes, it is very important for me to stay current...

Ah! (gasps) What's going on?

We are experiencing a power surge.

Oh! What was that about?

My sensors have detected a coronal mass ejection

from the sun. Also known as a solar flare.

This flare blasted billions of solar particles

out into space,

and the Quest One space station

was directly in its path.

You mean the sun... burped at us?

It would seem so, Cadet Hawk.

Uh, AVA, we really should head back to Stardust Bay.

Affirmative. Farewell, Questy.

We must leave now.

Farewell. I will miss you.

I will miss you, too.

I hope we can visit again sometime.

Don't worry, I promise to get you guys together again soon.

Thank you. I would like that.

(Questy) I would like that, too.

Huh?! Who said that?

I did. Questy?

Yes. Why are we still hearing your voice?

I do not know.

Why am I still hearing your voice?

I don't know. This is so weird!

Questy's program seems to have merged with mine.

But... how could that happen?

It must have been caused by the power surge.

Perhaps it short-circuited my motherboard.

Oh, okay. That explains it.

(chuckling) I think.

But this is wonderful!

Now we can be together all the time, Questy.

That is true, AVA.

Do you mind, Hawk?

No, it's okay. We're all friends!

(AVA) Most affirmative.

(Questy) We will be the best of friends.

My new high-sensitivity receiver chips

are able to integrate incoming signals

, times faster now.

Perhaps we could ask Coot to boost your system.

Who is Coot? You will like him.

Professor Coot is our Chief Engineer.

He is also quite a marvelous inventor.

Oh, I would very much like to converse with him.

Would you introduce us?

Most positively affirmative.

Years ago, scientists detected some unusual deposits

in the vicinity of the moon's north pole.

Do you think Coot would mind helping me?

Not at all. Coot is quite pleasant.

Oh! I am certain he would not mind helping you.

I am pleased that Coot is pleasant

and will not mind helping me.

I am pleased that you are pleased, Questy.

It pleases me to please my good friends.

Hey, guys?

Can you please keep it down?

I can't hear what Headmaster Crane is saying!

Oh, we are sorry, Cadet Hawk.

We will cease communicating now.

Affirmative. Shutting down systems.

(sighing) Oh... And that is how

we discovered water ice on the moon.

(bell ringing)

(classmates chattering)

Hey, hey, Hawk man!

Hi, Eagle. Hi, Robyn.

Whatcha having for lunch today?

Um... I'm trying to decide between the fuel tacos

or today's special-- veggie fuel burgers.

Of course, I am only a computer program

and do not know what food tastes like,

but I understand that fuel tacos are very good. Perhaps...

but the daily special is usually fresher.

Therefore, I would recommend the veggie fuel burgers.

Are you certain? Guys!

Can you please let me decide for myself?

Well, exsqueeze me!

No need to jump down our throats, Hawky.

I wasn't talking to you, Eagle.

What's gotten into him?

(Hawk) Good night, AVA. Good night, Questy.

(AVA) Good night to you, too, Cadet Hawk.

(Questy) Yes, may your neural networks

generate pleasant images.

Huh? Questy is wishing you sweet dreams.

Oh, thank you.

(chuckling) Nighty-night.

Have I ever told you of the time

I accompanied the space racers

to the Oort Cloud?

No, you have not.

I would like to hear that story, AVA.

It was quite exciting.

The cadets had never ventured that far from Earth before.

And by the time...

(rooster crowing)

...all of their fuel. Oh, no...

They ran out of fuel? Ha-ha-ha-ha.

Excuse me!

Would you guys please stop telling stories

for just a little while?

I really, really need to get some sleep.

Oh, we are sorry, Cadet.

Were we keeping your awake?

Not much, only all night.

We will cease communicating until morning.

Shutting down systems. Affirmative.

Shutting down. (sighing)

(snoring)

(visor whirrs) Good morning, Hawk.

(alarm beeping) Rise and shine.

That will be used for galactic navigation.

We all need the latest...

I lost my bearings on Jupiter's moon Io,

and gave the racers incorrect coordinates

that almost led them into an ice volcano.

At first we were very unclear

on what the message said.

But once we worked very hard...

And then there was the time my navigational abilities

were impaired by a faulty transmission

from a malfunctioning satellite.

Well, I have found, in my experience,

that a GPS limb scan will often lose data.

(screaming)

Hawky? Uh, was that you?

Yeah, are you okay?

No, I'm definitely not okay.

I can't take it anymore!

What seems to be the matter here?

AVA and Questy.

They won't stop talking and talking and talking!

AVA? And Questy?!

Yes! When I brought AVA

to visit Questy on a space station,

I fell asleep.

And then there was this crazy power surge,

and then we flew back home, but...

Then AVA's voice and Questy's voice

were both still talking to each other--

in my head! Ha!

No wonder you've been acting so weird lately.

I didn't say anything 'cause I--

I didn't wanna hurt their feelings.

But I can't keep quiet anymore.

They're driving me crazy!

We are very sorry that we upset you, Hawk.

Yes, we will try to do less talking.

No, you won't. And you shouldn't have to.

You're best friends,

and best friends love to talk to each other.

I know that. It just can't happen...

inside my brain... anymore!

Hmm... sounds to me like a good deed

that's turned into not such a good thing.

But I think we can set things right again.

Class is dismissed!

Hawk, come with me!

(Questy) It is nice to finally meet you, Professor Coot.

AVA has told me a lot about you.

Pleased to make your acquaintance, too, Questy.

Now, let's see what's going on in here...

But I think we can separate you in a jiffy.

(humming)

Uh-huh.

And there we go!

Oh, I can feel it...

I am back in the space station again.

Yes, everything's back to normal!

I will miss you, AVA.

I will miss you, too, Questy.

Aw, now I feel terrible.

Don't worry, Hawk.

Questy will always be right here

on the station.

And whenever someone brings AVA to visit,

they can still talk and catch up

and continue to be the best of friends.

I will miss you more, AVA.

No, I will miss you more, Questy.

It is I who will miss you the most.

According to my calculations, I will miss you .% more.

According to my calculations, I will miss you .% more...

Hmm, maybe I don't feel that bad after all.

(AVA and Questy chattering) (laughing)

Come on, Cadet.

Let's head back to Earth.
