GRANDMA JEAN: How about

ALMA: Okay! RAFIA: Uh-huh! HARPER: Okay!

HARPER: Wanna see my robot dance?

RAFIA: Sure! ALMA: Okay!

HARPER: My dad taught it to me.

It goes like this,

HARPER: [robot voice] Beep-bop-boop!

ALMA: [robot voice] Break it down!

KIDS: [giggles]

RAFIA: [robot voice] World's... greatest... robot... dancer.

KIDS: [giggles]

SAFINA: Yes!

Finally finished.

RAFIA: Finished what, Safina?

SAFINA: Oh, a video I've been working on.

[keyboard clicks]

I think it turned out seriously awesome.

HARPER: You wanna see it too, Grandma?

we get everything ready to record.

HARPER: Got my robot costume

and my Grandma's phone!

ALMA: And we can use this blanket.

ALMA: Do you remember what to do?

HARPER: So, I throw the blanket up

and change into my costume,

right?

RAFIA: Yep. That's what my sister did.

HARPER: Got it!

ALMA: Okay and...

HARPER: Ah!

ALMA: Cut!

ALMA: Hmm,

maybe you should practice

putting on the costume

HARPER: Good idea.

I'm still not fast enough.

RAFIA/HARPER: [struggles]

I can't see!

ALMA: Cut!!

KIDS: [sighs]

ALMA: This isn't working!

HARPER: Maybe Safina's faster '‘cause she's older?

RAFIA: Nah.

I think she just has more

practice making videos.

HARPER: I just wanted to make a fun video for my dad.

Why is this so hard?

ALMA: Harper looks frustrated.

Why doesn't our video look like Safina's?

I gotta think about this...

SAFINA: Here it is!

ALMA: Safina's video was ah-may-zing.

And we thought it would be so easy to make.

But it's not...

ALMA: Nothing we tried worked.

ALMA: Are we doing something wrong?

RAFIA: [effort]

ALMA: Or are we missing something?

Safina was using her phone

AND her laptop.

ALMA: Maybe there's more to making the video

than we thought...

I know how to make our

video look like Safina's.

HARPER: How?!

ALMA: We need to ask

RAFIA: Hi, Ma!

SAFINA: Hey, friends!

ALMA: Safina! We need your help!

HARPER: We wanted to make a video

like yours to send to my dad.

RAFIA: And we've been trying all day.

But we can't get ours to look like yours.

ALMA: Did you make it on your

laptop or your phone?

SAFINA: Both!

I used my phone to record the video

and my laptop to put it together.

ALMA: Wait..

put what together?

Safina, what do you mean?

SAFINA: I know

it looks like I did everything at the same time,

but I actually recorded the video in two parts.

ALMA: Can you show us?

SAFINA: Absolutely!

[rubbing tape]

SAFINA: Harper,

please stand right here.

SAFINA: Now when I say "“Go,"”

throw the blanket up and let it fall.

HARPER: Okay, Safina.

SAFINA: Alma,

RAFIA: But what about the robot costume?

HARPER: Got it!

SAFINA: Okay, Rafia,

SAFINA: And Harper... Go!

SAFINA: Cut! Awesome.

SAFINA: Now it's time to edit.

HARPER: Edit? What's that?

SAFINA: That means we're going to put the

two parts together

using this.

SAFINA: Can you please email me those videos,

Ms. Jean?

GRANDMA JEAN: Sure thing!

GRANDMA JEAN: There ya go!

[notification ping] SAFINA: Got '‘em. Thanks.

Ok, check this out.

[mouse clicking]

HARPER: What's that, Safina?

SAFINA: It's an editing program.

It lets me put the videos together.

Watch this.

SAFINA: First part goes here...

Second part goes here..

RAFIA: Whoa! ALMA: Oooh...

HARPER: Then what do you do?

SAFINA: First,

I shorten this video at the end.

Then, I shorten this video at the start.

SAFINA: And then I put them together,

like this...

SAFINA: Then I add some music!
