ALMA: André's coming over, and then we're going to the beach!

ANDREÉ: [in high-pitched voice] Hi, Alma! Ready to swim with me?

ALMA: [giggles]

Totally!

But I guess André's not coming?

Aww... Too bad. He loves the beach.

ANDREÉ: Oh, I'm coming!

BETO: i¡Qué padre!

BETO: Hey! Nice board!

ANDREÉ: Thanks! I call him Mr. Fins. And I'm André.

ALMA: This is Beto. He just moved here from San Diego.

ANDREÉ: Whoa! That's super far away!

BETO: Yup. So whatcha doing with Mr. Fins today?

ALMA: We're going to the beach!

BETO: Seriously?! I used to go to the beach all the time in San Diego!

It looked like this. Super tall palm trees,

and super soft sand!

ANDREÉ: Whooaa! Mr. Fins would love that.

BETO: [chuckles] But my favorite was the lady who sold elotes on the beach!

ANDREÉ: What are elotes?

BETO: Corn on the cob.

ANDREÉ: Mmm! My favorite!

ALMA: Corn?! I love corn!

BETO: Then you'd love elotes.

They're roasted. And you add lime, mayo, queso fresco,

and sprinkle on some chile powder... Mmmm, so good.

ALMA: Okay. I just ate breakfast,

but I could eat one of those right now!

BETO: I miss my elotes and my beach.
