You're getting so good at that.

- Oh, thank you.- [laughs]

Oh, hey, Dunk!Oh, sorry.

Didn't mean to startle you.

We were just wondering

if you want to playsome finball.

- Yeah, we thoughtthis would be a good spot.

- Uh, right here?

Oh, I was using this space

to make an extra sand patterntoday.

See? I was inspired.

- Oh, wow!

Hey, is it a snail shell, huh?

all: Mm.

- I can see that.You're right, Splash.

- Oh, well, I thought it lookedlike a map of Reeftown.

- Oh.

all: Mm.

- I could see that too.

You're right, Ripple.

- Huh? Wait, Dunk,if Ripple and I both think

it's two different things,

then we can't both be right.

- Hmm. You know what?You're both right!

[all laugh]

- Well, we don't want to takeyour sand pattern space.

We'll find another placeto play finball.

There has to belots of sand around here.

- Heya, guys!

I was just lookingfor a clean spot

to make some new mud puddles.

Ah, how about here?

- Uh, well, actually, Bubbles,um, you see,

Dunk was making patternshere in the sand,

and Ripple and I were lookingfor some sand to play finball.

- Well, sounds like we needto find some fresh new sand,

where no one is playingor resting.

- Or digging mud puddles.

- Well, let's go look.

I mean, how hard could it be

to find some new sandon this reef?

- Yeah!- Come on, let's go!

- That's a plan!- Okeydoke!

♪ ♪

Here's a perfect spot.

- Yeah.- No one around.

- Yeah. Let's play finball!- Okay!

both: Whoa, whoa, whoa!

- It's really crowded here!

- Yeah, this won't work.Come on!

[fish chattering indistinctly]

- Ha-ha! Yeah! This looks likea good spot for a puddle dig.

Ha-ha![humming]

- [laughing]- Whoa!

- Oh, that tickles.[laughs]

- Hey, sorry there, Gush.

You were so well camouflaged,I didn't see you.

- Oh!Well, thanks for the compliment.

- Yeah!Hmm, better find another spot.

Sheesh.

- Well, we found a lot of sand--- But it was all occupied.

- Oh. Well, it's okay.

I'll just eraseone of my sand patterns.

We can play here.

- Aww! Thanks, Dunk.

- Now, let's see...which one... huh.

- Aww.I hate to make him do this.

- Hey, everyone!

- Oh, hi, Maury!- Maury!

- Hi, hi, hi.Listen, listen.

Word on the reefis you guys are looking

for a sandy place to play.

- That is entirely correct.How'd you know?

- Hey, I know things, okay?

We moray eels movein mysterious ways.

- I told him earlierwhen we were looking for sand.

- And...mystery is gone.

Anyway, I knowwhere there's some new sand.

Brand new. Never been touchedby a single fin.

all: Ooh!- Neato!

- Yeah.- Fin-tastic!

Where is it?

- Well, when I said I knew,

I mean I didn't know exactly,

but I've heardit's just around the bend,

so, uh, bye.

- Wait, wait, wait!- Wait, Maury!

- [laughs]- [groans]

- All right, you guys.We'll find it.

Let's go around that wayand keep looking.

- Wait, I'm pretty sureit's this way.

- No, it has to be over here.

- Oh, no, definitely over there.

- Well, I think it could--- No, it's--

- You know what, guys?New plan.

Let's just go ask Wave.Come on.

- Yeah!- Oh, okay.

- Keep it moving, folks.

Remember, there areplenty of fish in the sea

and plenty of places to swim!

- [laughs]Hi, Wave!

We're looking for new sand.

- Oh, that's an easy one.

Just go back to the sandy bed

and lookfor the algae-covered coral.

There's always new sandnear there.

- Really? Why?

- If you find that place,you'll find the answer.

- Well, thanks, Wave.Buh-bye!

- Bye!- Bye, Wave!

- Find that new sand!- Okay!

- Yeah!- Whoo-hoo!

- Oh, boy!- I love sand!

- Oh, yeah!It's solid yet squishy!

- It's like mud but not muddy!

- Sand is the best!

- And the best part is,

we're the only oneswho know about this place!

- Are you dumping sandon my head?

- Huh? No.- Oh.

- Are you dumping sandon my head?

- No!- Oh.

Oh. Well, uh, are you dumpingsand on your own head?

- Why would I ask you

and get to the bottom of it.

- Yeah! Okay.- Come on.

- If we go up there,

wouldn't we be gettingto the top of it?

- You know what I mean.

- Oh!- Come on.

- On my way.

[Chompy chomping]

- Mmm! Mmm!

[chomping continues]

Oh! Howdy!

How are you guys?

I've never seen youin these parts.

- We've never seen you either.

- Well, nice to meet you.

The name's Chompy,because I love to chomp.

Like this!

[chomping]

[laughter]

- Isn't that bad for your teeth?

- Nah, it's perfectly fine.

[chomping]

For your teeth, it would be bad,

so I don't recommend you try it,

but my teeth are designedfor this kind of chomping.

- But what about the coral?Aren't you hurting it?

- Hurting it?I'm helping it.

I eat all the algae off it

and grind it upwith my big teeth,

which helps the coralstay healthy.

It also provides mewith a tasty little snack,

if I do say so myself.

Everybody wins![laughs]

- That's fantastic!

- But let me ask you something.

What do you think of that sand?

You like it?

- Are you kidding?We love it!

- Aww, thank you!It means a lot to me.

- Why would it meana lot to you?

- Because I made it.

- What? You made it?- Yeah!

- You can't make sand.That'd be like making water.

- Well, everybody thinks that,but they're wrong.

You see, when I'm doneeating the algae off the coral,

it passes through my bodyand comes out the other end,

creating the sandyou're playing in right now!

- I don't get it.

- Wait a minute, uh...

does that meanthe sand is, uh...

- Uh-huh! Yeah!

- I don't knowif I want to think about that.

- Think about what?

I don't get it.

- Well, let's put it this way.

Coral in.Sand out.

- That is so cool!

- It is yuckyand weird and disgusting.

- Exactly.But it's also amazing.

And things can be yuckyand amazing at the same time.

chorus: ♪ Hey ♪ - Ha-ha!

♪ I like yuckyand all the ucky ♪

♪ So if it's yuckyand it's ucky ♪

♪ Well, then,I should be so lucky ♪

♪ If it's slimy,and if it's grimy ♪

- Yeah! Whoo!

- [laughs]

Now do you getwhere sand comes from, Dunk?

- Yep. Sand is yuckybut wonderful.

- Uh, Dunk...[clears throat]

Well, there's somethingwe want to tell you,

but do you promisenot to freak out?

- Of course!

- Okay. All right, well,the thing is,

it's a little weirdand hilarious.

But what I'm trying to say is,

sand is--

- Sand is parrot fish poop.

It's poop!

- That<span> is an interesting ocean fact.

- Are you sureyou're okay, Dunk?

- I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm fine.

Whoa! I'm touching it!I'm still touching it!

- Okay, don't freak out,don't freak out.

Well, why don't we go ask Chompyto explain again.

- Do we have to?

- Yeah. Come on, guys.- Okay.

- Well, okay.Here it goes.

[chomping]

It's passing through my bodynow...

and here we go!

all: Whoa.

- Amazing!

It's the greatest thingI've ever seen!

You're, like,this living recycler fish!

Hey, life on the coral reefwouldn't be possible

without your work.

We love your sand.

- Aww, thanks, guys.

It's fun making it

and knowingI'm helping the environment.

- Well,please keep chewing coral--

- And keeping the coralclean of algae--

- And making more sandfor the reef!

- Will do. Happily.[laughs]

[Splash laughs]- Bye, Chompy!

- Thanks, Chompy!- Bye, Chompy.

- Bye, Chompy!Thank you!

- Wow.Dunk, this is amazing.

- Thanks.- Yeah.

- So, what do you callthis pattern, Dunk?

- It's Chompy, of course.

After all, I couldn't makemy sand art without her.

- Aww!- Yeah!

- Boy, sand is pretty amazing.

- Yeah.- So cool.

- And now it's time to... all: Get your feet wet!

- Where does the white sandon this beach come from?

- A lot of the white sand on tropical beaches

that animals live in and people play in

comes from a fish--

one of the most colorful fish on the reef.

♪ What parrot fish eat, they also excrete ♪

♪ In a curtain of limestone sand ♪

♪ They eat some coral, then they poop it out ♪

♪ And it washes up on land ♪

♪ It covers the floor while they eat some more ♪

♪ Almost countless times each day ♪

♪ So thank your parrot fish friends ♪

♪ For making the sand in which we play ♪

Got to keep things movingon the reef.

[yawns]So, where are you kids off to?

- Oh, we're on our way

to our Reeftown RangersClubhouse.

Want to come along?

- That sounds mighty fun,

but I'm a little tied upat the moment,

what withfish just going willy-nilly

this way and that.

Oh, that's a one-way channel!

Tourists.

- You really are tied up.

Are you okay?- Sure.

Nothing a good nap can't cure,

and I'm about to go on break.

[yawns]

- Where can you take a breakin all this commotion?

- I've got my spots.

Mm, should be a fast currentright about there, kiddos.

- Thanks, Wave.- Thanks.

- Come on, Reeftown Rangers!- Bye!

- [laughs]

Yeah. Ha-ha!

- ♪ We're ready to takethe ride of our lives ♪

- Thing in the entire clubhouse!

- [humming]What? Whoa!

I wonder what's in here.

[gasps]

Wow!

A cave!

Oh! This is so cool!

Huh.

- Look at me!I'm a crab!

- Ha. Ha. Ha!

What?

Whoa-oh-oh-oh...

Whoa, I'm dizzy.

- Look what I found!

- I wonder what's in here.

[laughs]I'm in.

- A perfect finball pebble.

- Hit it here, Splash.- Okay.

both: Whoo!

- Hey, Bubbles!- Huh?

- Incoming!Whoo!

- Oh!

I got it!

- Huh?[gasps]

Bubbles!

You might wantto get out of there before--

- What?

Um...[laughs nervously]

Uh-oh.

all: Oh, no!

- It's okay, guys.Don't you worry.

I'll be right out.

I just need to push hard.

- Oh.- Here we go.

- Is it working, Bubbles?

- I can't get it to move.

all: Aww.

- Hmm.

[gasps]

I have an idea.Hold on a sec.

Okay, if I just get under hereand then just push this up...

- Oh, great idea, Ripple.We'll help. Come on!

[all grunting]

- Keep pushing!Keep pushing!

- Oh! What if we push downon this thing?

- Oh!- Come on, Dunk.

Everybody all together.Here we go.

One. Two. Three.

[all grunting]

Uh-oh.- Oh, no!

- Oh, no.

- Oh, no.

Now what?

- Bubbles, are you okay?

- Yeah, I'm fine.

It's just dark,

but there's all kindsof really cool stuff down here.

Maybe I can find somethingto get myself out.

- Aww.- Okay?

Ooh. Neato.

[rustling]

That's not gonna work.

- Why is it so quiet in there?

[creature growls]

What was that growl?

- Maybe Bubbles is hungry.I know I am.

- Well, wait,that's not a growl.

It's a snore!

Well,Bubbles must've fallen asleep.

- What?I'm not asleep.

But I did find somethingreally interesting.

Guys, it's Wave!

- What?- Bubbles? Is that you?

- What are you doing here, Wave?

- Well, I was so tiredafter directing all that traffic

that when I went on my break,I fell asleep.

That is, of course, until I felta small fin tickling me.

- Oops. [laughs]That was me. Sorry.

- Not a worry.Not a worry.

Hello, kids!

You know, it's much darkerin here than before.

What gives?

- Oh, well, I flicked a finballto Bubbles...

- And thenthis thing fell down...

- And now Bubbles is stuck,and so are you, too, Wave.

- Stuck? I wouldn't beso sure about that.

I can squeeze my bodythrough tiny spaces.

- But Wave,those cracks are really small.

- [laughs]

Not too small for me!

You see, I have no bones.

- Oh, that's right.You're an invertebrate.

- Yep,so I have no problem doing this.

♪ ♪

- Whoa!- Wow!

- That was amazing!

[laughter]

- Guys? I hateto break up the party and all,

but I'm still in here!

Bones and all.

- Oh, Bubbles,we didn't forget about you.

- Butwe've thought of everything,

and we still don't knowhow to get Bubbles out.

- Well, you're in luck!

I may not have bones,but I do have brains,

and I've never meta problem I couldn't solve

by thinking it through.

[grunting]

- Hey!- Ah!

Smart move, Wave!

- I'm also very strong.- Whoa.

Hold on, Bubbles!

I figure if I can pry opena clam shell with these suckers,

I can probably pry opena treasure chest.

- Yay!- Hi, Bubbles!

- Whoo!- I'm free!

Thanks, Wave!

Hmm, treasure chest, huh?

Well, what a perfect placefor this treasure--

a finball.

[laughter]

Oh, and next time,I'll be more careful

before I dive into somethingI may not be able to get out of.

- Ha-ha! Well,you thought of everything, Wave.

- Yeah, I mean,that was as amazing

as anything the Reeftown Rangershave ever done.

- Oh, well, thanks, kiddos!

- You know, Wave,bravery and brains

are useful qualitiesin a Reeftown Ranger...

so we'd like to make youan honorary Reeftown Ranger!

- Who? Squishy ol' me?

- Yeah!- Mm-hmm!

- Well, I couldn't possibly.

I mean, well, I guess perhaps.

Maybe I could!

- Yay!- Yeah!

- Reeftown Ranger Wave!

- All right!- Whoo-hoo!

So, Wave, why did you choosethis place for your nap?

- Well, it just so happens

that one of my favorite spotsto take a nap

is in this place.

Don't get me wrong.

I love my job

and being in the hustleand bustle of Reeftown,

but it's nice to have a momentto myself from time to time.

- Oh. Well,if this is your special spot,

then, well, maybewe should find somewhere else

to beour Reeftown Rangers Clubhouse.

- Yeah.We wouldn't want to intrude.

- As an honoraryReeftown Ranger,

I say...

that this is the perfect placefor our clubhouse!

- All right!- Whoo-hoo!

- Yeah!- Coolest clubhouse ever!

[Wave laughs]

- Oh, I love this place.- Me too!

- Nice going, Wave!- Yeah!

- Oh, hi, it's me, Chompy.

Do you like playing on the sand at the beach?

Well, that makes two of us.

We parrotfish are very important to the reef

because we clean it by using our strong parrot-like beaks.

Parrotfish bite off chunks of coral

with all that yummy algae on it.

We digest it, and out comes the beautiful white sand

you play on at the beach.

Isn't that great?

Oh, but don't worry.

There's no need to thank me.

It was my pleasure. [laughs]

- Hey, kiddos, it's your buddy Wave.

I'll bet most of you go to bed at night

and wake up in the morning, right?

Well, I'm the same way.

I'm a day octopus.

Many octopuses are nocturnal and are awake at night

but not us day octopuses.

We stay awake all day long.

Don't believe me?

Ask that octopus about it--

if you can find him.

Octopuses are great at camouflaging themselves.

Oh, there he is!

I knew you'd find him.

- Oh, hi, it's me, Maury.

Hey, have you heard about snowflake moray eels?

Well, let me give you the scoop.

We snowflake moray eels like to hide in caves and crevices,

but when we're curious about something,

we'll pop our heads out of our caves and check it out.

Even though we can see okay at night,

we can't see very well during the day,

so we rely more on smelling and hearing to find food

and get around in the coral reefs where we live.

[gasps] I got to go spread the word. Bye!

- ♪ Da-da, da-da ♪
