Hmm... I guess that's maybe because I am one.

I am an excellent flyer.

Unless he's one of those wonderful, cute little ants?

SNOOK: Looks like Tai Chi.

It's an ancient Chinese exercise.

It helps you think, stretch, relax...

[ speaking slowly]: It's very slow.

I don't mind saying it--

we sloths are pretty great at Tai Chi.

[ yells like Tarzan]

[ chuckles]

Hello, young ones. Hello, my slothful friend.

You know, Oko, we're looking for someone.

I don't know, but maybe you've seen him?

SMOOCH: It's our friend Wartz.

He's very little, with tiny legs.

WINSLOW: Uh-huh.

And he likes water...

We saw him last at the water hole.

Ah! Seeking a little one-- Oko understands.

[ insect buzzing]

every creature is perfect in their own way,

but sometimes we change.

[ shrieks]

As I was saying,

your friend may be experiencing a metamorphosis.

A meta-morpho-what?

Metamorphosis.

ALL: Meta-mor-pho-sis.

You may find the one you seek has become something new,

something different than he was before.

SMOOCH AND WINSLOW: Cool.

[ insect continues buzzing]

Little guy, with a tail... like a fish kind of... but not.

Yeah, that's right!

And he did swim.

And he had these cute, tiny little legs.

Hmm... that would've been good to know earlier.

Yeah, I remember the guy.

But he left the water hole.

Oh, no! We're too late.

When I hatched, did I leave the water hole?

Of course not!

Said he'd be back, though.

What's he like?

Well, he's slimy.

He has a tail.

Yeah, he's so tiny,

he can't climb trees.

He has these little, tiny legs.

He likes the water...

and swimming.

SMOOCH AND WINSLOW: And we can't find him anywhere!

Very interesting friend you've got there.

Funny name, too.

I must ask, um... does he hop?

No, he couldn't hop,

not with those teeny, tiny legs.

Where did you meet him?

At the water hole.

Yeah, and Ick said he'd been there.

Well, sometimes creatures change when they grow.

SMOOCH: That's right.

I remember when I was too little to climb.

Then we grew into the best

tree-climbing monkeys ever!

You had to grow and get stronger.

But some creatures

even change their shape when they grow.

It's called a "metamorphosis."

Metamorphosis!

That's what Oko said!

Yes, a metamorphosis is

a sudden and big change

in the basic shape of an animal.

It normally happens when animals grow up.

Yeah, like when a caterpillar

changes to a butterfly.

I knew that.

Excuse me.

Excuse me.

SMOOCH: Hey, frog,

could you wait a second?

Madge is talking.

And some creatures change more than others.

But... but... but...

WINSLOW: What's with the frog?

I don't know, but he seems pretty excited.

Smooch, Winslow...

ALL [ gasping]: Wartz?!

SNOOK: Oh, so you're Wartz!

How can you be you?

I grew.

I'm a frog!

I used to be a tadpole, but now look at me!

Finally! It felt like it took forever.

Now, that's the Wartz weknow.

See, Wartz started out as a little egg

and grew to be a little tadpole.

He gradually grew legs

and turned into a frog,

hopping and swimming about.

Oh, he's such a cute little dear.

Look at him go.

You're so... different.

I'm still me.

I still like singing and playing tag,

and my favorite color's still blue.

Do you still like me?

Do you? Do you?

Of course!

SMOOCH: Yeah, your metamorphosis

is cool!

Yeah, I wish I could have one.

and so many great facts to know about them.

One way to find out more is to read.

Go to your local library and get a book

about your favorite animal.

SNOOK: One of the coolest animals I know is my friend

Bob the anteater.

Anteaters are great.

Do you know they sleep as much as hours every day?

I mean, I love to nap myself, but that's a lotof sleep.

Oh, and they have a great sense of smell.

Hmm... I wonder what smells Bob likes best.

Next time you see him, ask him for me, okay?

SNOOK: Smooch and Winslow are very amazing animals.

They're marmosets.

A marmoset is a kind of monkey.

Hey, do you know that marmosets like to live

with other members of their family,

like their brothers and sisters?

No wonder Smooch and Winslow have so much fun

sharing a house.

Uh... except when Winslow leaves his stuff

on the floor, of course.
