Here's a story from france about a farmer and a troll.

Rooster: (crowing)

Right in the middle of his field.

He couldn't drag his plow over it,

So he decided to plant on it by hand.

Leo: but as he started, a troll

(expl*si*n)

And said his house was under there!

And just who did the farmer think he was to plow

Holes in his roof!?

Leo: the farmer didn't even know any trolls

Lived that close to his farm.

He had no idea he had been digging in the troll's roof.

Troll: errg!

And the troll was hopping mad!

Leo: he stirred up his courage and said to the troll

Leo: "excuse me, mr. Troll.

I think it would be a shame for us both to let

This part of the field lie bare.

I am willing to dig, plant, and harvest on it every year,

If you agree, and we would share whatever grows."

Leo: the farmer went straight to work as the troll watched.

And to his surprise, the farmer's work brought

The troll his favorite treats...

Carrot tops!

Leo: so from that day forward, the farmer and the troll shared

Everything grown on that mound.
