- I'm angelina ballerina,

And today my sister, polly, and I

Are going to visit our dad's new music store.

- Is this it?

- Nope.

- How about this one?

- Not there yet.

- [Giggles]

- It's this one.

- That's right.

- How do you know, angelina?

- I could tell by all the musical instruments

In the window.

That's what a music store sells, right, dad?

- That and a lot more.

- Hi, mrs. Thimble.

- Hi, angelina.

- Looks like we're neighbors now.

- We sure are.

I just hope I won't be hearing a lot of loud music.

My ears are very sensitive.

- Don't worry, mrs. Thimble.

If our music is ever too loud, just let me know, okay?

- I certainly will.

- Welcome to mouseland music.

- [Giggles]

Wowie!

- Stupendous!

- What's this, daddy?

- That's an electric bass.

- Can I try it?

[Light tones]

Mm, you can hardly hear it.

- You can when you turn on the amplifier.

[Louder tone]

- Wow.

- An electric keyboard.

This needs to be turned on too, right, dad?

- That's right.

Try it.

It can sound like many different instruments...

[Piano tones]

A piano, an organ...

[Organ tones]

Even bells.

[Chiming tones]

- Amazing.

- And here's a present for each of you to keep.

- Oh.

- Recorders, like the ones we play at school.

Thank you, dad.

[Recorder tooting]

[Recorder screeching]

It takes a lot of practice to play the recorder.

What's all this stuff, dad?

- These are replacement parts for instruments,

Like extra strings.

Mrs. Thimble used to sell them, but she only had room for a few.

We have many more different kinds.

- What are these little dots, daddy?

- That's music.

- Huh?

- These are called musical notes,

And they tell the musician which sounds to play.

The problem is, I can't bring my piano with me,

Because it's too big.

Hm.

Hello. I'm angelina ballerina.

Today we're going to see some ballroom dancing.

That's where people dance together as partners.

This is called swing dancing.

It started back in the s

With a kind of jazz music called swing.

It takes a lot of practice to work well with your partner

So you know what to do next.

See how they move in time to the music?

Every step matches the tempo and each other.

They're simply stupendous.

- Hola,marco here.

I know what that is. It's a marimba.

Marimbas were first made in africa and latin america.

They hit the wood blocks with the mallets,

And those tubes underneath help make that cool sound.

Marimba is a percussion instrument.

A drum is another kind of percussion instrument,

Like the one I have here.

You hit it. That's how it makes sound.

Magnifico.

I wonder if they'd let me play my steel drum with them?

We'd make a great trio.
