Yep. We want to find out how you can remember so many things.

We troodons have large brains, and that means we have excellent

Memories, and a good memory is especially important for my job

As a conductor.

Why, I have to remember how to fix the dinosaur train if it

Breaks down.

I have to remember the train schedule and all the stops, and

That means I have to remember all the species, every kind of

Dinosaur.

When I was a little troodon-- d'oh! How did that get in there?

Anyway, when I was little, I wanted to grow up to be a

Conductor.

We want to grow up to be conductors, too.

Well, my mom made me say the dinosaur species over and over

Until I memorized them.

That's how you do it.

You practice again and again.

I used to love to recite my dinosaur abcs.

Why do you think troodons were so smart?

Well, because they had some of the largest brains of any

Dinosaur.

Being smart, troodons could probably stay away from

Predators that wanted to eat them, and what do you think

Troodons liked to eat?

They liked plants.

They liked meat.

Paleontologists think that troodon may have eaten plants

And meat.

An animal that eats both meat and plants is called an

Omnivore.

Omnivore.

Can you think of any omnivores that are alive today?

Bears.

Pigs.

Great answers.

Bears, pigs, crows, even humans are omnivores.

Me, too.

Yes. We humans, at least most of us, are omnivores, too.

We eat meat, like fish and chicken and beef, and plants--

Like rice, fruits, and vegetables--so we have a few

Things in common with those little troodons.

We're both smart, and we're both omnivores.

Believe it or not, even though peteinosaurus was a reptile that

Lived with dinosaurs, it wasn't a dinosaur itself.

It wasn't a dinosaur.

Nope. Peteinosaurus and all of its flying reptile cousins,

Including pteranodons, are called pterosaurs.

It's not a dinosaur.

It's a pterosaur.

Peteinosaurus was very similar to most bats.

Both are small, both can fly, and many bats are insect eaters,

Using their speed to catch bugs in the air.

So remember, get outside, get into nature, and make your own

Discoveries.

There was the triassic, jurassic, and cretaceous time
