02x07 - Hiking the Rockies

Post by bunniefuu »

Welcome to Plum Landing.

"Hiking the Rockies."

We're on a mission for Plum.

My name is Sydney, and this is my little brother, Nathaniel,

and my mom, Christine.

Today we're at Rocky Mountain National Park

and we're on a hike.

We're collecting some data for Plum.

And we are in the mountains to find data for her.

We're trying to find differences

between the beginning and the end.

We're recording the temperature and the altitude.

We're starting the hike at , feet.

You better write that down.

The temperature is degrees.

My mom is collecting data for Plum with a camera.

I see the mountains.

Look at all the lily pads.

The first lake we were at is called Nymph Lake.

It's a mountain lake.

The lake is at the altitude of , feet.

I really see that there are a lot of lily pads

and some have flowers on them.

It rains a lot up in the mountains.

We think the water in this lake came from the rain

or the snow falling down from the mountains.

Wow, look!

It's an elk.

The elk is at , feet.

I'm going to sketch the elk for Plum.

This elk is eating.

We didn't see any elk at the bottom of the mountain.

Maybe there was more food up here.

Whoa!

It looks like there is a great view from up here.

Let's go see.

I actually see the tree line right over there.

And above it there are no trees.

You could basically touch the clouds if you were up there.

This is a good place to make a drawing for Plum.

We're on our way to the next lake.

It's coming down from the lake.

We've discovered a waterfall.

This water's going downhill.

I think it might be going from one lake to the next lake.

Dream Lake-- finally.

We're at Dream Lake right now.

Let's take a picture for Plum.

Yeah.

The water starts at the top lake,

and then it goes down through the rocks and everything

to reach the bottom lake.

Our altitude is... whoa, it kind of went up!

It's , feet.

Our temperature is degrees.

The temperature has gone down because we're so high up.

Nymph Lake had lily pads.

This one doesn't have any.

I think there are no lily pads here

because maybe it was too cold for the lily pads.
