[CAWS]

if Duggee could help?

Duggee!

Can you help us find Happy?

We've looked everywhere.

[SHEEP BLEAT]

-[FROGS CROAK]

[DUGGEE BARKS EXCITEDLY]

That's not Happy, Duggee.

NARRATOR: Duggee's got

He followed Happy's footprints
all the way to the bush.

they were Happy's?

lounge lizard?

The bottlenosed biscuit-eating

stopped by this tree.

There's somebody behind it.

[IN SPANISH ACCENT]

graceful flamingo, oh...

I am star of flamingo
synchronised swimming team,

but I cannot perform
in the big show

because I have lost my flipper.

NARRATOR: Wow! A fossil!

Um...excuse me, what's a fossil?

That's a big question, Roly.

-But Duggee can explain.
-Woof!

Because he has
his Fossil Badge!

Woof-woof-woof! Woof! Woof-woof!

NARRATOR: Yes. Fossils were made
a long time ago.

When primitive creatures
walked the Earth.

Huh? Woof-woof!

Oh, sorry, Duggee,
you're right.

We should start
much further back.

When the only living creatures
were in the sea.

♪ Oh, I do like to be
Beside the seaside ♪

And sometimes, incredible thin,
like blizzards.

[WIND BLOWING]

[LAUGHS]

Or volcanoes.

[BUBBLING]

-Ho-ho!
-Or great sandstorms.

[WIND BLOWING]

Uh-oh!

And then, that creature
would be stuck

for a really, really long time.

Oh, boy!

So, this was
once a little creature?

-Woof!
-And it's really old?

Yes, Roly, really, really old.

It takes millions of years
to turn it into a fossil.

[RAIN PELTING]

[OCARINA PLAYING]

[MELODIC HUM]

Hail Duggee!

[FANFARE PLAYING]

-We dug up a fossil?
-Woof!

ALL: Ooh!

Are there any more fossils?

Oh, yes, Norrie.

Fossils can be made from
any creature that lived

a really long time ago.

Ones that lived in the sea,

or ones that crawled
out of the sea.

Small ones that flew,
or big ones that walked.

BETTY: Big ones that walked?

Are you talking about dinosaurs?

Yes, Betty.

Dinosaurs came in all shapes
and sizes.

A bit like us.

See? That's a Betty-saurus!

[MUNCHING]

NORRIE: A Norrie-dactyl!

ROLY: Tyrannos-roly-rex!

[YELLING]

TAG: A Tri-tag-otops!

HAPPY: A happy-gator!

BETTY: Then what happened?

NORRIE: We arrived!

ALL: Yay!

We're cavemen!

No, Roly, cave-Squirrels.

TAG: Look, it's Enid!

[MEOWS]

NARRATOR: No,
that's a sabre-toothed tiger.

HAPPY: Look, it's Ethel!

[TRUMPETS A TUNE]

No! That's a woolly mammoth.

They look a bit
like Enid and Ethel,

but look a bit different, too.

That's right, Norrie.
Lots of things were different.

[RUMBLING]

I'm hungry!

Where's the kitchen?

Well, there isn't one, Roly.

-But how do we cook things?
-DUGGEE: Woof!

[FIRE CRACKLES]

So, from our tiny fossil
came all this?

ALL: Wow!

Fossils are amazing!
