♪ Bottle Top Bill ♪

- [Corky] The sun is hot today, Bill.

- [Bill] And there's not a cloud in the sky, Corky.

- [Corky] Just right for an adventure.

- [Bill] You bet, and it's called, A Fish Out of Water.

What would you like to do, Bill?

Let's go to the lake, Corky.

It will be nice and cool on the water.

Good idea.

- [Bill] We'll need our car to get us there.

- [Corky] And what else, Bill?

- [Bill] A boat with a motor.

- [Corky] Are we going fishing, Bill?

- [Bill] No, Corky. We're going water skiing.

I can hardly wait.

Off we go.

I've never been water skiing, Bill.

You'll love it, Corky.

It's great fun.

I hope I can do it.

You'll be a top water skier, Corky.

How do you know?

Because I'll be your teacher.

(laughing)

Now, let's go water skiing.

I'll get the boat ready.

Bill, I thought you said we were going to the lake.

We are, Corky. Look at all that lovely--

Paint me pink. Where's the water?

- [Corky] It's vanished.

- [Bill] There's something fishy going on, Corky.

- [Corky] You're right, Bill. What's this?

- [Bill] It looks like a giant rock.

A giant rock that's stopping the water from

getting into the lake.

Let's take a closer look, Corky.

- [Corky] It's a long way up, Bill.

- [Bill] You're right Corky, we're going to need some help.

- [Corky] What about this rope?

It looks just the thing.

We'll climb to the top in no time.

Go carefully, Bill.

Careful it is, Corky.

Come on up.

I'm right behind you.

(low grumbling)

Did you hear that, Corky?

What was it?

It sounded very strange.

Let's get up to the top and see if we can see anything.

Here we are.

Wow.

You were right, Corky.

This big rock has blocked the river.

Which is why there's no water in the lake.

(squirting)

Bill, this is no time for playing tricks.

What tricks?

(squirting)

Corky, there's no need for that.

I didn't do anything, Bill.

But somebody just sprayed me in the face.

And somebody just sprayed me in the face.

But if if wasn't you.

And it wasn't you.

Then who was it? Then who was it?

(screaming)

What's happening, Bill?

That's not a large rock blocking the river.

What is it?

It's a whale!

(low grumbling)

I thought whales lived in the sea.

So did I, Corky.

It must have swum up the river and

got stuck in the entrance to the lake.

What are we going to do?

(screaming)

(grunting)

We've got to get off this whale, Bill.

What are you waiting for?

This whale sounds very sad, Corky.

(low grumbling)

I'd be sad if I was stuck like that.

Poor thing, we have to help it.

But how?

The first thing we need is our boat.

Then what?

Then we get in. Come on.

We need to get it free from between those cliffs.

How are we going to do that?

We're going to push it.

Gently does it, Bill.

It's not moving.

I'll have to use more power.

Try even more power, Bill.

There isn't any more power.

It's no good. It's not budging.

We need another idea.

What about pulling the whale, Bill?

That's the idea. We can use the rope we had before.

We need your help, friend.

Put this between your teeth and bite hard.

(chomping)

Okay, Corky, let's free this whale.

Right you are, Bill.

(whirring)

Ready to go?

Ready, Corky.

Full speed ahead.

Is anything happening?

Uh, I'm not sure.

(screaming)

(grunting)

Are you okay, Corky?

Fine Bill. What about the whale?

(low grumbling)

It's still stuck fast.

And our rope is broken. What do we do now?

(low grumbling)

I've got one more idea.

But we'll need extra help.

- [Corky] What kind of help?

- [Bill] Mechanical help.

- [Corky] What is it, Bill?

- [Bill] This time, we'll use our crane.

- [Corky] Brilliant.

This will lift the whale free in no time.

I hope so, Bill.

Any luck?

Not yet, Bill.

Put it on super lift.

Super lift it is.

Is the whale moving?

Something's moving, Bill.

(splashing)

Oh no, we've lost our crane.

And the whale's still stuck.

It's just too heavy.

(whale chattering)

What's wrong with the whale?

I think something's got inside its spout.

(whale chattering)

Sounds like a big sneeze coming on.

I'm not sure if I want to be around if it sneezes, Corky.

I think you're right, Bill.

(sneezing)

(screaming)

Where are we going, Bill?

- [Bill] Down river, Corky.

- [Corky] How far down river?

I wish I knew.

Oh no!

What is it?

Stand by for a big bump, Corky.

(screaming)

Whew, safe at last, Bill.

That was one big sneeze, Corky.

From one big whale.

But how are we going to help it now?

I don't know, Corky. We're miles away.

- [Corky] Hang on, there's somebody in the water.

- [Bill] Is it someone we know?

- [Corky] It looks like our friend, Molly the mermaid.

- [Bill] It is Molly the mermaid.

- [Corky] And Swish the seahorse.

Hello Molly. Hello Swish.

Are we glad to see you.

Bill, Corky, what are you doing here?

A big whale has become stuck up river.

In the entrance to the lake.

We've tried everything to free it.

Can you help?

Let's ask Wally the whale.

He'll know what to do.

Where can we find him?

We're playing hide and seek with Wally right now,

but we haven't found him yet.

(seahorse chattering)

When we do, we'll bring him back here.

Thanks Molly, thanks Swish.

Now what?

We just have to wait.

I don't think we should wait too long, Bill.

Why is that?

Our boat's filling up with water.

It must have sprung a leak.

And it's sinking fast.

Ohhhh!

Don't worry, Corky.

Molly and Swish will rescue us.

I hope they won't be long.

- [Bill] Uh oh. Now we've got an other problem.

Sharks!

Swim Corky!

I'm swimming, Bill.

- [Bill] What's that up ahead, Corky?

- [Corky] A large rock.

- [Bill] Let's head for it.

We'll be safe there.

The sharks are catching up!

I don't know, Corky, either that rock's moving closer or--

Or what, Bill?

It's not a rock at all.

(laughing) You're right, Bill.

I think we've just found Wally the whale.

And just in time.

Thanks Wally.

You saved us from those sharks.

And now I hope you can help us save a friend of yours.

(laughing)

Did I say something funny?

I don't think so, Bill, but I can't hang on much longer.

Me neither, Corky.

(splashing)

I can't understand it.

Why is he laughing so much?

- [Molly] (laughing) It was us.

What did you do?

We tickled Wally with these sea ferns.

Why?

Whales are very ticklish.

And when they laugh, they wiggle.

And that's giving me an idea.

Will it help our whale, Bill?

I hope so, Corky.

Molly, do you think Wally would

give us all a lift back to the lake?

He'd be delighted, Bill.

Come on, we need to work quickly.

What's the plan, Bill?

We need lots of ferns and weeds, Corky.

Then what do we do?

Then we're going to tickle this whale out of trouble.

Are you ready, Molly?

Ready Bill.

Then get tickling.

She's ticklish, Bill.

Very ticklish, Corky.

(laughing)

Is it working, Corky?

Water's coming through.

That's just what we want.

But we're standing in the wrong place.

Run Corky!

Whoa!

(rushing water)

We did it!

(seahorse chattering)

(screaming)

Look Bill.

You beauty.

And look, here comes Wally, Molly, and Swish.

Her name is Wanda.

Hello Wanda. Hello Wanda.

Wally and Wanda want to thank you for helping them.

It's our pleasure, isn't it Corky?

It sure is, Bill.

They want to know if there is anything

they can do for you.

Well, there is one thing.

So Bill, we did get to water ski after all.

And we learned a few things on the way.

You're right there, Bill.

I never knew whales were so ticklish.

And I never knew how fast they could swim.

And we both never knew that today would

turn into one of our best adventures ever.

(laughing) When you're right, Corky, you're right.

- [Corky] Are we going to have an adventure today, Bill?

- [Bill] Too right, Corky.

- [Corky] And what's it called?

- [Bill] It's called, Search for a Star.

Are you expecting some mail today, Bill?

I am. Some very exciting mail.

Wow! A golden star!

Isn't it a beauty?

What's it mean?

This is the start of our adventure, Corky.

Take a look.

Congratulations, this star is your invitation

to take part in a talent contest.

The contest will take place later today

on Mrs Whistlehead's farm.

Good luck.

Oh Bill, I'm so excited.

I've never entered a talent contest before.

Me neither Corky.

What should we do?

Start practicing right away.

Yes, the more we practice, the better we'll be.

The better we'll be at what, Bill?

I don't know Corky.

I thought you had an idea.

No, sorry.

Oh.

Not to worry, Bill.

There's plenty of time to decide what to do.

Let's go for a walk and have a think.

Good idea Corky.

A country walk always helps me to think.

- [Corky] It's the fresh air, Bill.

It clears your head.

- [Bill] Just what I need.

All we have to decide is what to do in the talent contest.

That should be easy.

(upbeat dance music)

Do you hear that, Bill?

I do.

What do you think's going on?

I wonder if someone's having a party.

If they are, it's heading this way.

- [Corky] Hey, Sam's niece and nephew.

What are you two doing?

Disco dancing.

I can see that, but why?

We've been invited to enter a talent contest.

A star just like ours, Bill.

And the more we practice--

The better we'll be.

(upbeat dance music)

Disco dancing, what a great idea.

I wish we'd thought of doing that.

There must be something we can do.

If only we knew what.

- [Deep Voice] Whoa.

What was that?

It sounds like someone's in pain.

- [Deep Voice] Whoa, whoa, whoa.

It's coming from Sam's shed.

- [Deep Voice] Whoa.

Sam, Sam!

Are you here?

- [Bill] I think he is, Corky.

- [Corky] Right Bill, I can see him.

Hi Sam, is everything okay?

(mournful singing)

Sam, what's wrong?

(singing) Not a thing.

I'm just practicing my singing.

Your singing? Your singing?

That's right. Getting ready for the talent contest.

See?

You've got one too.

And the more I practice, the better I'll be.

So if you'll excuse me. (clearing throat)

(singing)

Righto, Sam. We'll be off then.

Good luck.

(singing)

I'd never have guessed Sam's hidden talent.

Me neither.

But now we should choose what we're going to do.

Right, Bill. What talent do we have?

Hello Bill. Hi Corky.

Hello Sandy.

What are you doing?

Practicing my act for the talent quest.

Do you like it?

It's terrific, Sandy.

Gosh, Sandy's really good, isn't he?

It looks like everyone's practicing

for the talent contest except us.

Come on Corky, there must be something we can do.

I can't think of anything, Bill.

Maybe we don't have any talent at all.

I'm beginning to think you're right, Corky.

What a pity.

I was so looking forward to being in the contest.

Me too.

(laughing)

Bill, it's the great wild wooly!

Oh no, he's got the star.

Come back here, great wild wooly!

I bet he wants to enter the talent contest himself.

But that's our star.

Right, Corky. So let's get it back.

He's heading for the trees.

Don't lose sight of him.

You know how tricky he can be.

Oh no.

We'll never find him in the forest.

Hang on, he's left the forest, look!

Let's get after him.

No need, Bill.

No need?

He's heading straight for trouble.

What kind of trouble?

Watery trouble.

- [Bill] You're right, Corky.

It's the river!

(screeching to a halt)

If there's one thing the wild wooly hates,

it's getting wet.

We've got him cornered.

Give yourself up you star thief.

- [Corky] Wait a minute.

There's something on the river.

- [Bill] What is it?

- [Corky] It looks like a speed boat!

- [Bill] It is a speed boat.

And now the great wild wooly's getting away!

Throw the lasso, Bill, quick!

Missed him.

Whoa! Whoa!

Don't let go, Bill.

Hold on tight, Corky.

He's going to try and shake us off.

(screaming)

That great wild wooly can't shake us off.

You said it.

But we need some help, Bill.

And we need it fast.

What's this?

- [Corky] Something to get us off the river.

- [Bill] I'm with you, Corky.

Our airplane.

Get ready to jump in as we go past it.

(mischievous laughing)

Oh no, that sneaky wooly's beaten us to it.

Not to worry, Corky.

I've got another idea.

We won't be beaten that easily.

(screaming)

I hope this flight is quick.

Just tell me when it's over.

It's not over yet.

Oh dear.

- [Bill] There's something up ahead.

- [Corky] What is it?

- [Bill] Whatever it is, we're heading straight for it.

Start swinging Corky.

Swinging it is, Bill.

Whoa!

Nicely dodged!

What's that wild wooly doing now?

- [Bill] He can't control the plane.

(screaming)

- [Corky] He's going to jump.

Is he crazy?

- [Corky] No, he has a parachute.

(mischievous laughing)

- [Bill] Where's he going to land?

- [Corky] It looks like he's heading for a train.

- [Bill] It is a train.

- [Corky] It's Old Lightning.

(train tooting)

(mischievous laughing)

This plane's going down fast.

What'll we do?

I have an idea, Bill.

Get ready to jump on my back.

Now, Bill.

We did it, Corky.

Let's get after that train.

Yee haw! Yee haw!

That star stealing wild wooly won't get away

from us this time.

Lasso that train, Bill.

(train tooting)

Uh oh.

We've lost him.

Not just him. We've lost our star too.

And without the star, we can't enter the talent contest.

Nevermind, Bill.

We couldn't think of anything to do anyway.

That's true.

And it doesn't stop us from cheering

on everyone else, does it?

True again, Corky.

And if we get there early,

we can get a seat in the front row.

Sounds good to me, Bill.

- [Bill] Mrs Whistlehead's spent all day preparing

her sheep paddock for the contest.

- [Corky] Doesn't it look terrific?

- [Bill] It's just perfect, Corky.

Look, it's Cedric's turn on stage.

- [Corky] He's looking better than ever.

He must have a good chance of winning.

All the acts are so good.

Any of them could win.

You're right, Corky.

I'm glad I'm not a judge.

They've got a tough job all right.

Who's next?

It's Mrs Whistlehead and Timmy.

Well done, Timmy!

Who ever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Look Bill. That must be the winner's trophy.

- [Bill] What a beauty.

Wouldn't it be great to win it?

It's just a pity we're not much good at anything.

(sighing) I'm afraid you're right, Bill.

Nevermind. Let's watch the next act.

Oh great, a magician!

I love magic!

(crowd cheering)

That's amazing.

He's brilliant!

- [Bill] I wonder who he is?

- [Corky] He does look very familiar.

And what's he got to do with Mrs Whistlehead's sheet?

(sheep baaing)

He's making the sheep disappear.

Who else do we know who does that?

You can't mean--

That's the great wild wooly!

And he's used our invitation to enter the contest.

And steal some of Mrs Whistlehead's sheep

at the same time.

(mischievous laughing)

Let's get him, Corky.

Jump aboard, Bill.

You're not getting away this time, great wild wooly.

Yee haw!

Look out for the sheep, Corky!

Whoa!

Are you all right, Bill?

You bet.

Well done, Bill.

That's teamwork, Corky.

(crowd cheering and clapping)

Who are they cheering, Corky?

I think they're cheering us, Bill.

But why?

Because you've just giving us the best

We have?

It gives me great pleasure to present

It's gone!

Where's the trophy?

It's not the only thing that's gone.

(mischievous laughing)

He's done it again.

Nevermind, Bill.

At least we've found something

we can do at the talent contest.

True.

And you have to admit, it was a great adventure.
