- You know Kathryn?

- Yes, Kathryn.

Last time I saw you you were with Robert.

And who are you?

Aston Lange.

I was once a respected government watchdog who had to abandon his life and seek asylum when Simon's hateful brother Cyrus became king.

I've been Queen longer than I haven't been.

Do you think I've made a difference?

Of course you have.

I don't want to go through any more days without you.

Willow and I are getting married.

Your problem with my son is that he's common.

- So how about we fix that?

- Frost.

I'm making you a knight.

There'll be a small ceremony.

None of your family are invited.

You're welcome.

The lock is a lie.

Seems like magic, but the basic techniques could be learned and applied within minutes.

Thank you!

Kate, I'm glad you came tonight.

Me too.

PINS: Baby Bhangs Here you come in black leather Glittered eyes like butterflies Yesterday so far away Sunday morning, it's all distorting Lacquered lips, snake hips Electric sky, dance till you die I miss him, still would kiss him Scream and shout, ride it out

- (MAN)

Did you hear that?

- (WOMAN)

No.

What?

- I heard something outside.

- Go and check, then.

WOMAN: Do you want to go for a curry on Friday, by the way?

Hold on, love.

I'm checking the front door.

Who's there?

(GROANS)

You're the Robin Hood.

I've read about you.

- Then you know I leave things.

- Cheers!

Thanks!

You're welcome.

It's expensive!

S04E07 Forgive Me This My Virtue (DOORBELL RINGS)

I can't believe I even bothered with a list.

I can't believe I said "Maybe. " We should have skipped to this weeks ago.

Mm.

(TEXT MESSAGE ALERT)

Wilhelmina Henstridge.

Hmm.

Sounds nice.

Her Majesty Wilhelmina Henstridge.

Let's take it slow.

Let me get used to one name change at a time.

I would love to, but my mother has other ideas.

She'd like us to make our first public appearance at the opening gala of my father's Legacy Exhibit.

That's a good idea.

We use an event celebrating a legacy to launch a new one.

Great queens think alike.

Maybe it is time we tell the world about our torrid love affair.

Let's just tell them we're engaged and let them fill in the sordid details.

Oh, they will, believe me.

But, for now . . why don't we fill them in ourselves?

FEELDS: Colorblind KATHRYN: Have you thought about what the press will say?

I mean, they're gonna ask questions.

They've seen me with Robert.

They know it was one date.

Just tell them you didn't have feelings for him.

I don't want to lie.

I did have feelings for Robert.

You know that.

Whatever they say won't matter.

We're celebrating my father's legacy.

Jasper's getting knighted.

It'll be a great night.

Well, it can't be worse than the last one.

That's true.

Get in.

You might have spoken too soon.

Kissing in public, in broad daylight?

Mum, we were just having breakfast.

You have an entire palace to frolic around in - behind closed doors.

- That's not fair to Kathryn.

- Or to me.

- It's not about "fair".

Robert and Willow are announcing their engagement tomorrow.

Their first public appearance is going to be at the Legacy Exhibit Gala.

If you go public now, you will steal the spotlight from them and that, we cannot have.

I just want to take my girlfriend to an event honoring my father.

It's okay, really.

I just want to be respectful.

Thank you, Kathryn.

I appreciate that.

Come to the gala.

Just don't come with Liam.

It'll establish you as part of the Royal social scene and make it more natural when we officially go public.

- In a few months.

- Months?

Liam, you stood up at that dinner last week and said you wanted to be better for the family.

That starts now.

No need to cover up The fault lines They make us who we are Steady, Frost.

It'll be done soon.

How are you enjoying the Royal treatment?

- Seems a bit excessive.

- Nothing wrong with excess.

Now, if I'm gonna knight you, you're gonna have to look the part.

I had my horologist send over a gift.

Pick one.

You're gonna need a decent watch for the knighthood ceremony.

I have my own watch, thank you.

I said, "decent watch".

The Patek Philippe is for the gentleman, the Omega, as worn by 007, I think that's good enough for you.

- Or there's the Vacheron - The gold Rolex.

Mm.

(CLEARS THROAT)

Of course.

It says "American Hustler".

Now, once you're knighted . . everything you do will reflect on the Royal Family.

So, if you care about my sister as much as she cares about you, you'd better start acting like you belong here.

FINK: Cracks Appear Ah, Willow, I'm glad you're here.

Have you seen the interview talking points?

The Royal biographer has created your engagement story.

It's good.

Make sure you memorize it.

With all due respect, I think the truth is romantic enough.

An ordinary girl and a great man fall in love.

The next 48 hours are going to be your first defining moments as Queen.

We've got to capture the world's imagination.

People want exciting, aspirational.

A young child whisked away to Argentina, only to return to her royal roots.

That's lovely, but it's not really what happened.

We can't rely on the truth alone.

We have to make it royal, which brings me to your outfit.

The fashion world doesn't know it yet, but you're about to set trends for the next two years.

It's pretty, it's timeless.

It tells the story perfectly.

A fairy tale return to royalty.

It's beautiful, but what about something simple?

I could get my mother's pearls and hold a bouquet of peonies.

Refined but accessible.

Willow, the outfit you're wearing is accessible.

Now, do you know why it's accessible?

Because it's cheap and it's cheap because it was likely made in a sweatshop.

People will tear it apart for the ethics alone.

- I - Think about it.

I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

Now, is there anything else you needed?

Yes.

What happened to my desk in the library?

Everything's been cleared out.

You are no longer our social media adviser.

From now on, you have one job and one sole purpose: to be Robert's Queen.

We are delighted you could join us for this momentous occasion.

You all know my son King Robert.

It's nice to see you all.

I'm thrilled to introduce you to Willow Moreno, my fiancée and future Queen of England.

Very nice to meet you all.

This is certainly surprising.

Rumor speculated that you were dating, Your Majesty, but this engagement, so soon Well, when you know, you know, and I know.

(CAMERA SHUTTER CLICKS)

Wilhelmina was raised in Argentina, but returned to London and her royal roots just a short while ago.

Apparently, you can take the girl out of the aristocracy, but you can't take the aristocracy out of the girl.

Tell us about your family, Willow.

Erm I'm sorry, but the truth is I worked at the palace.

I'm just an ordinary girl.

If I was a ship I'll let Willow tell her story.

I'll see you all at the Legacy Exhibit Gala.

Enjoy.

BELLE ROSCOE: Bad Man and clean of you - Is that a new watch?

- Yeah.

Gift from on high: your brother.

What's wrong with that?

Well, I like my old watch.

Is it so wrong to want to be a normal couple with a normal life and a normal watch?

No, it's not wrong, but it is impossible.

But, if it helps, this knighthood will make us more normal than ever.

So you're gonna tell me what happened to your arm?

It's just a little cut I got on one of my missions.

It's fine, Jasper.

No, it's not fine.

These missions aren't a good idea.

What's that supposed to mean?

You think you're helping people but you're not.

Most of these people are probably scamming you.

They're good people.

They just need a bit of help.

Okay.

Well, I think that's a little naive.

Well, maybe it's just not cynical.

This is the first time in my life I've felt like I'm making a difference.

Don't sh*t on it and call me naive.

I have done everything you and your family asked of me.

I'm asking you to do one thing.

This needs to stop.

With all due respect, Jasper, you may have been my bodyguard and you may currently be my boyfriend but you're not my boss, so I won't stop.

Don't tell me what to do!

You're going into shady neighborhoods, breaking and entering, putting yourself in harm's way.

- I am putting some good into the world.

- There are other ways.

This is my way and I do what I want.

- Oh, is that right?

- Yes, it is right!

So sexy when you're angry.

(CRUNCHING)

I don't want your crisps, assh*le.

As a matter of fact, there is nothing in this embassy you can give me that I don't already have.

Got it?

CYRUS: I'll pay you top dollar to do whatever he wants: choke him, spank him, give him the business.

Make sure he thinks you're enjoying it.

What?

Saffie!

How are you, baby?

Why didn't you tell me it was Aston?

Don't worry.

I know exactly what he likes.

Hi, Daddy.

(PANTING)

We should probably fight more often.

(JASPER CHUCKLES)

We'll have to come up with something else, since you agreed to stop being Robin Hood.

What?

I didn't agree to that at all.

I thought you were the one who was gonna back off.

- So we're still fighting?

- Yeah, we're still fighting and not so we can just do this again.

Unbelievable.

We had a plan.

With all due respect, I didn't get much say in the plan.

You don't merit "say" yet.

I was being true to our story.

People want the truth.

Don't tell me about "the people".

I know what they want.

It isn't the truth.

Maybe in the old days, but it's a new world now.

They want authenticity more than anything.

- "Old days"?

- She didn't mean it like that.

If anyone can talk to the press, it's Willow.

It may be a new world out there but, in here, it's still a very old world.

You'll find that respect and loyalty are very much alive and well here.

At least for now they are.

Phew.

That man is something else.

Just take the money and go.

Oh, it's okay.

I do Aston for free.

He's a patriot.

All the King's men!

Just go!

Wait.

Would you like to stay?

Maybe talk a while?

Of course, lovely.

For £1,000, I'll say whatever you want.

Never mind.

We met online.

Prisoner fetish.

What did I ever do to you, Lange?

I've only ever tried to be nice, you d*ck, and I'm never nice to people.

What did you ever do to me?

You exiled me to this godforsaken embassy.

It's not so bad.

Good crisps.

I had a good life, a family My brother d*ed while I was in here.

A brother I loved and missed every day because I was stuck in here and I couldn't even attend his funeral.

That's what you did to me and so many others like me.

(DOOR OPENS)

Your Majesty.

It's gone.

Simon's gold pen.

I was going to put it into the Legacy Exhibit and now it's missing.

Is there something else you could loan them instead?

Yes, Rachel, there are many things I could loan them.

The man was a king!

He had stuff!

This pen was significant!

First Liam wants to tell the world he's dating Robert's ex, then Willow insists that ordinary is the new black, and now this.

Who the hell could've taken it?

I'll ask the footmen to search the palace.

In the meantime, would you like me to ask the Bluebirds to stand down on your gala preparations?

The Bluebirds Someone here has been stealing from me.

When I find out who it is, I will not only fire you, but will personally ensure that everyone knows your shame.

You.

You look slippery.

Mum?

Can I talk to you for a second?

What's going on?

What's wrong?

My gold pen is missing.

Don't we have, like, 1,000 gold pens?

It's just a pen.

"It's just a pen"?

"It's just a meeting with Parliament.

" "It's just a dinner where your son announces he's engaged out of nowhere.

" Mum, do you need some dr*gs?

Yes, but you only have mints.

Mummy Your father called it, "The most important pen in the world" because we used it to sign our marriage certificate.

He used it to sign your birth certificate, international treaties, philanthropic grants, national trusts After he d*ed, I kept it and used it to follow his lead to try to do what good I could and now it's missing.

Oh, Mum, I had no idea.

I Do you know what?

I think you're right.

That one.

- She looks slippery.

- Yeah.

Yes.

Now you listen to me.

You b*tches, you'd better find that pen.

Find it!

They'll find it.

Your Majesty, I think I've made a mistake.

They have so many bad photos and the comments "The palace is no place for an ordinary girl.

" "I hate her already.

" "This common bitch is gonna be Queen.

" "#Mare.

" You gave them "Ordinary girl" and the press has run with it.

I was trying to be relatable.

Mm.

There's a big difference between relatable but aspirational and ordinary and uninspiring.

"#GoldDigger.

" "#ShePutsThePiglnPygmalion.

" You need to move on.

It's only social media.

You knew that more than anyone.

I knew there'd be trolls, but it's different when they're attacking you!

They just - They're so mean.

- Imagine that.

Your first public event as a couple begins soon.

- That should be interesting.

- What should I do?

How should I know?

I only understand "the old ways".

Don't worry.

I'm sure you'll be just fine.

#TheQueenJustLied.

#GoodLuckWithThat.

- Someone looks handsome.

- Somebody needs something.

Why do you just assume that I need something?

Because I know you, Princess.

I gave away an important pen and I need your help to undo my reverse-heist.

So you wanna pull a regular heist?

I leave things, I don't know how to get them back.

Just knock on the door and ask.

They'd be happy to meet the Princess and give her her pen back.

They'll tell the press and then my cover will be blown.

That sounds like win-win to me.

Jasper, this is important!

Please, I'm coming to you, hat on head, asking for your help.

Please!

Hat in hand.

What?

- Fine.

I'll help.

- Yes!

Okay, now, we've got to go.

Move it.

We have no time.

Come on!

JOYWAVE: It's A Trip Just tell me what you want LEN: I think I can reach this window, if you boost me up I can climb in.

JASPER: Alright, just be careful.

(GRUNTS)

BLACK p*stol FIRE: Bully (EXHALES SHARPLY)

Are you okay?

(PANTING)

Yeah I'm fine.

Okay, we need to find this pen fast, or we are going to miss this knighthood ceremony.

Okay.

Come on.

I like it when you play too rough Whoa oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh Whoa, oh-oh I like it when you play too rough Whoa oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh Whoa oh-oh So tell me when you've had enough Whoa oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh Whoa oh-oh So tell me when you've had enough You look amazing.

Thank you, handsome.

So do you.

Go to the bar.

- I want to watch you walk.

- (GIGGLES)

I like this game.

I like it when you play too rough Whoa oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, whoa oh-oh So tell me when you've had enough ROBERT: I can do the talking tonight.

You can just smile and wave if you want.

No, if I'm going to be Queen, I need to learn how to handle this.

Be exactly you.

(INDISTINCT CHATTER)

Robert, Willow, how does Queen Helena justify letting a common girl take over her throne?

What did you do to make Robert fall for you so fast?

- Are you pregnant?

- Are you prepared to be Queen?

ROBERT: Okay, settle down.

We've gotten off on the wrong foot.

Allow me to introduce you to my fiancée Wilhelmina Moreno.

I like her quite a lot.

I think you will too.

Willow, where were your parents from?

- Were you born in this country?

- Do you have royal blood?

Where did you go to school?

Do you trust me?

Yes, of course, but Good.

Because I think you're life-changing.

I'd like to tell the world about it.

Why should a common girl take over the throne?

Well, that's a good question.

Willow, have you spoken to the Queen?

LIAM: It looks like the g*ng's all here.

You all seem particularly ravenous tonight.

Prince Liam, give us a scoop.

Okay, but only because I like you lot.

How would you all like to meet my date who also happens to be my new girlfriend?

Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like you to meet Kathryn Davis.

Miss Davis, over here!

Over here!

Didn't you date King Robert as well?

Yes, I did win a date with King Robert at a charity event.

Then she won my heart in the weeks after.

Turns out I was the lucky one.

Liam, what do you think of Willow?

First, let's remember what this night is about.

It's about my father's legacy and it's about the valiant service of Jasper Frost.

But, since you asked Some misguided people are calling her ordinary, because she's humble, gracious.

We could use more of that in our lives.

I know I could.

It's easy to form an opinion of someone based on a few photos or headlines and then to lash out with our thumbs.

I suppose people have a right to do it, but I've known Willow for a while now.

And I can tell you, she's anything but ordinary.

Our King wouldn't have chosen anyone who was less than magnificent and she is.

Trust me.

I know a thing or two about magnificent women.

My brother's a lucky man.

As a matter of fact, he's the second-luckiest man here tonight.

(CLAMORING, CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICKING)

Wilhelmina, Robert, how about a kiss?

- How about a kiss?

- Come on.

Oi!

What's this?

You've never seen a washing machine before?

Yeah, of course I've seen them.

It's where you doing washing in the kitchen.

You know, it's really not that bad, this.

Imagine, I've come home from work, you've put a load of laundry on and you're making dinner.

Yeah, or I'd come home from work and you'd be doing the laundry, making the dinner.

Absolutely.

Oh, babe, you're bleeding.

Sit down.

Let me see.

It's No, it's fine.

It's not fine.

Ah!

You've pulled the stitches.

It's swelling.

Let me get some ice.

Jasper!

They hid it in the freezer.

WOMAN: Do you want to watch the King's Exhibit?

sh*t.

sh*t.

What do we do now?

Go, go, go.

- WOMAN: Where are the keys?

- MAN: I thought you had 'em.

- No, I gave 'em to you.

- Alright.

Alright.

Calm down.

(KEY TURNS IN LOCK)

(SHE SIGHS)

Why did you order them extra poppadoms?

Well, I ate 'em, didn't I?

And the naan breads.

- You're kidding!

- I'm still hungry.

- You can't be.

- You got any crisps?

What?

Notably absent however is Princess Elena and her hero boyfriend Jasper Frost.

Now, as you may remember, Mr.

Frost is meant to receive a knighthood and people are starting to wonder "where could he possibly be?"

(COMMENTARY CONTINUES ON TV)

It's fine.

When they go upstairs, we'll just have to make a run for it, okay?

It's fine.

Tonight's event, of course, is to celebrate the opening of a new exhibition celebrating the legacy of the late King Simon.

With special contributions from each member of the immediate Royal Family, as well as pieces from His Majesty's personal collection and the WOMAN: I wonder what the Princess will be wearing tonight.

She always comes up with something.

I don't know about that princess.

All she does is dr*gs and dudes.

(WHISPERING)

They're settling in for tea.

(SOFTLY)

Don't worry about the ceremony.

What?

The truth is, I'm not a hero.

I didn't take a b*llet for anyone.

My father sh*t me.

The whole thing feels like another con.

Stop it.

None of that is true.

You're here with me now because I needed your help even though you desperately wanted me to stop these missions.

You might not have saved Robby's life . but you saved my life, okay?

I was a mess when I met you and now I'm well, not so messy.

You are a hero, Jasper.

You're my hero.

That's why you cannot miss the ceremony, okay?

Oh, that's it.

Guys, you're k*lling me.

Sorry.

I'm Princess Eleanor.

I gave you this expensive pen, but now I've got to take it back.

Oh, you do look lovely.

I knew you'd whip together something.

- Thanks.

- Wait.

You're the Robin Hood?

Yes, I am she.

Yes and honestly, I'm just trying to help people and I will bring you something to replace this, but right now, we really have to get going.

- "We"?

- Erm - Oh!

- You're that bodyguard.

- The one who saved the King.

- Who else is in there?

JASPER: Erm no, just us.

But you're supposed to be there.

Yes.

He's a hero.

He's about to be knighted and so we must go.

Really sorry for the intrusion.

Ah, wait!

Here.

Take this.

- It's a Rolex!

- (GASPS)

Oh!

It is better than the pen.

Perfect.

Guys, just look here.

Both of you together.

Ready and Now, just like that, you've forgotten everything that happened, like Men In Black.

No, we haven't.

sh*t, well, could you please not tell anyone at all?

We must go.

Bye.

Let me recap.

I asked you to stand down and, instead, you kissed your girlfriend in front of legions of press at an event that was supposed to be for Robert and Willow and your father's legacy.

Is that right?

Yes.

Good job.

It was smart to give the press something else to talk about.

Thanks, Mum.

I'm proud of you, Liam, every day.

Now don't get cocky.

Now, I have to go and present your father's polo mallet to the Legacy Exhibit.

g*dd*mn thieving Bluebirds.

Thank you for jumping in front of the press like that.

You're like Jasper, but with words instead of b*ll*ts.

I've had a lifetime to figure out how to deal with the press.

It's still never easy.

- You'll get the hang of it.

- I'm not sure I ever will, but thank you for stepping in and for all those kind words.

My pleasure.

Let me know if you need me to start #QueenWillow.

The idea was to let the press get to know Willow, not for you to steal the spotlight.

And I'm grateful for it.

Thank you.

Did you hear that, King?

Willow said thank you.

You could learn a lot from her.

BROLLY: Wolfe We got all starry-eyed at what they meant Good evening, everyone.

Thank you for joining us, for the commemoration of this exhibit which celebrates the legacy of our family and my late husband King Simon.

Every member of our family has donated something meaningful and significant and it's my pleasure to share these artifacts and the memories they engender with the world.

For my selection, I have (CLEARS THROAT)

- Hi.

Hi.

- Hello.

Hi.

Erm My mother is very proud to put this pen into the exhibit and, if you don't mind, Mum, I thought I might say a few words about it.

- Of course.

- Great.

Erm Look, I know that this looks like an ordinary pen, but my father used to say that it was the most important pen in the world.

Because he and my mother used it to sign their marriage certificate and to sign the birth certificates of their children.

My father used this to sign every major and important initiative and treaty during his reign, but there's even more to it than that.

My mother is too humble to tell you this, but she also has used this pen to put a lifetime of good into the world.

She's used it to set up national trusts and start charitable organizations which have saved lives and helped people around the world.

It's helped more people than you'll ever know.

It also represents the sacrifices of someone who, despite the loss of my father, is fiercely dedicated to her family and to her people.

So this pen not only has contributed to the legacy of my father, but it's contributed to my mother's legacy as well.

I miss my father every day . . but I am so thrilled about this exhibit.

And some day, I will be thrilled to stand alongside my mother, as we honor her.

Long live the King and long live my mum, the Queen.

(APPLAUSE)

When did our heads come down?

When did our light burn out?

When did our heads come down?

Are you alright?

I guess your sister's speech got to me.

I'm glad you're here.

You handled the press admirably.

Gave them a story, just like I taught you.

Do you remember, in the wine cellar?

I learned from the best.

Do you ever think about what our life would be like if we'd have run away from it all like we talked about?

Robert, I'm with Liam now and you're engaged.

But that hasn't stopped you thinking about it, has it?

(SOFTLY)

Because it certainly hasn't stopped me thinking about you.

Robby Kate, I can't get you out of my mind.

I'll be alone tonight.

Come and see me, please.

I miss you in so many ways.

May I?

Of course.

I wanted to apologize.

I was rude to you at my engagement dinner.

I guess I was just surprised to see you there.

It's fine and, for the record, I thought I was going to the Queen's birthday dinner.

I would never have gone if I'd thought that it was about you and Robert.

And yet here you are.

At King Simon's Legacy Exhibit, or Jasper Frost's knighthood.

I don't want your spotlight, Willow.

No.

You just wanted my fiancé.

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have come.

You know, desire is a two-way street.

I wasn't the only one in that bed.

There's the girlfriend I don't have to hide any more.

- Everything okay?

- Yeah, I'm fine.

I need an early night and some sleep.

- Of course.

Let's get you home.

- I'll just get my things.

You're so good I hate the things you said to me when were together.

I hate that you propositioned me tonight on the night you announced your engagement.

I hate the smug look on your face.

What I hate most is that, at 9:30, I'm going to be standing at your door.

Don't change that dress.

(GROANS)

Are you okay?

Is it still bleeding?

I'm fine.

I'm fine.

It was a great speech.

We can just go home right now if you want.

I know you don't want to do this.

You said this knighthood would make us closer to normal and I'm willing to do whatever it takes for us to get that.

Okay, well, I got you a little present.

I had the driver go back to the palace and get it.

Are you sure you don't mind this normal, old watch?

No.

I know dating a princess isn't easy.

I appreciate every sacrifice that you've made.

Remind me to thank you properly later.

(DOOR OPENS)

Bye.

Where's the Rolex?

I gave it to someone who needed it more than I did.

I find that hard to believe.

I'm gonna tell you something about this watch.

When I was 16, I got a job working nights at a gas station so I could afford to buy something and not steal it.

This was the first real thing that I earned.

It always reminds me that the world doesn't owe me.

It's not gonna give me a thing but, with hard work and integrity, anything's possible.

You won't see me cry Not that you'd know anything about that.

On the night we celebrate my father's legacy, the man kneeling before me has preserved my family's legacy.

From uncovering my father's m*rder*r, to taking a b*llet for me.

Jasper Frost is not only a hero, but a true friend and brother.

I'm sure that you think that I won't let you in They're opening an exhibit highlighting my brother's legacy tonight.

Everyone thinks I hated him, celebrated his death, even.

And I wish I would've told him more.

I know what it's like to lose a brother . . and I'm sorry for your loss and that you couldn't say goodbye.

I didn't want to.

But you had to.

I know the feeling.

Why are you doing this?

I can't help that every time I see you, I remember the feelings I had for you when we were together.

This one goes out to the one I love Do you have to take everything from me?

This one goes out to the one I love I know that was hard for you to see, but I'm just watching out for you.

Last week, you stood up and told the family that we deserve better from you.

But if you're truly gonna be that person, you have to let go of believing I am your enemy.

One day, I simply hope that you can come in here and have a drink with me and understand that I love you . . and I'm on your side.

Okay.

I'm sorry.

Let's have that drink.
