I started off speaking to a small audience.

At least I thought. I just wanted to speak to the people in the communities I painted in.

I felt like if... especially post-Katrina... like if these neighborhoods were sick, then my art had a way of providing some type of healing.

So, I initially thought it was just those people on that block, or on that corner, or, you know, within that neighborhood.

And I was surprised to see that it resonated far and wide, but it was one of those things that, now that more people paid attention, I had to make sure I was saying something.


I truly thank you for doing the work that you're doing, brother.

Keep it up.
