Saul: Previously on Homeland...

We will strike the heaviest blow at the crusaders who occupy our country.

I need you to do something for me, Dennis.

It's going to be easy.

You said you had something to tell me?

The ambassador's husband, he's working against you.

Take Mr. Boyd to the guardroom.

Hold him there.

No phone calls, no visitors, no communication with anyone.

Martha.

Let's go, sir.

Martha, don't do this.

What Haqqani wants for Saul.

A prisoner exchange.

Carrie: This is Haqqani's entire command structure.

You give up these five, he basically controls from here to Kabul.

Come on.

Martha: The prisoner exchange worked.

Saul Berenson is now on his way back to the embassy.

(cell phone ringing)

Yeah?

It's Mira.

(rocket whooshes)

Deploy the Marines.

Get them out of the embassy and to the blast site, right away.

That's what she wanted to know.

Who?

Tasneem.

What did she want to know?

How Carrie Mathison got in and out of the embassy.

Martha: What did you tell her?

Dennis: About the tunnel.

Haqqani: How long have they flown over our homes?

m*rder*d our women and children?

We will drive them from our skies.

We will show their crimes to the world.

(indistinct m*llitary radio chatter)

Martha: It's Alice in f*cking Wonderland.

(indistinct m*llitary radio chatter)

Carrie: Where are you?

Quinn: I'm at a safe distance.

...clipped an artery.

(Carrie screams)

Hold on.

Saul: I know a way.

(speaking Persian)

Andrea Mitchell: First, the US found and k*lled O*ama b*n L*den outside Pakistan's...

(crowd clamoring)

Carrie: You will die over there!

Hillary Clinton: You can't keep snakes in your backyard and expect them only to bite your neighbors.

John Kerry: There are things that the Pakistanis have done, as complicated as the relationship has been.

(indistinct m*llitary radio chatter)

Carrie: God!

Saul: I'm so sorry.

Brody: I have to say good-bye now.

Carrie: Just for a few more seconds.

Homeland - 4x10
"13 Hours In Islamabad"

(ears ringing)

(distant, muffled shouting)

Man: Ma'am. Ma'am?

We're going to get you out of there. Just stay calm.

Someone get me a crowbar! Someone get me a crowbar!

(shouting continues)

John.

Saul: - Carrie.

sh*t.

John, John!

f*ck!

Saul: - Carrie.

f*ck.

Carrie.

You're okay.

I see.

Calm yourself down.

There we go.

This is an emergency.

You'll have to go through Dispatch.

Peter.

I just heard what happened.

I can't reach Carrie or Saul...

We need to call the Marines back.

Why?

Ambushing Saul's convoy may have been a diversion to draw the Marines away from here.

Draw them away?

From the embassy.

The ISI know about the tunnel under the Economics section.

What?! - Which means anybody could know by now.

Which means we are essentially defenseless.

Private, give me your comms.

Sir. - How many Marines were deployed to the ambush site?

It's pretty much everyone on the duty roster, except us two and a couple of men posted at the gate.

Marine Dispatch, this is Peter Quinn.

Dispatcher: - Marine Dispatch.

Get me the CO who deployed to the ambush site.

Ambassador, you need to get to the vault, follow lockdown two protocols till you get the all clear.

Private.

Sir.

Stay with me.

Yes, sir.

Let's go.

This is Zero Alpha.

What's the sitrep?

Convoy was hit by RPG fire.

Counted five KIAs so far.

Make that six.

Carrie Mathison, Saul Berenson?

They're okay.

Quinn: - Thank God.

Captain, I need your men back with us here.

We have intel of a possible att*ck on the embassy.

When?

Now. It may be tied to your being off-site.

Copy that, on our way.

Let me know when you're close.

Sergeant, listen up...

(g*nf*re)

(men shouting)

What the f*ck is happening?

I can't hear you. Talk louder.

Carrie: The convoy's hit!

We're pinned down by sn*per fire!

Where are you?

(g*nsh*t)

Tell me where you are.

Four blocks north of the embassy on Nursa Road!

How many gunmen?

Four, five at least.

We're taking casualties! Hurry!

I'll send a section.

Send a platoon!

All right, sit tight, we're on our way.

What are you doing?

It can wait.

They're being overrun now.

Ten minutes.

Then you can make the call.

The Americans have insinuated themselves long enough into our business.

It's time they get a dose of their own medicine.

Haqqani.

He's part of this, too, isn't he?

He is a t*rror1st.

No, he's k*lled dozens of my soldiers on the border.

Only because you keep working with the Americans.

Once they're gone, you won't have to worry about Haqqani.

Are you really so naive?

Me?

I'm not the one who keeps insisting the enemy is our friend.

We wait ten minutes... then we call.

Quinn: I'm checking the tunnel now until the Marines get back.

How solid is the intel?

Solid enough to start lockdown two.

All right.

Where's Martha now?

In the vault with her husband.

Give us a status report when you're down there.

Are you familiar with level two lockdown procedure?

More or less.

Then I'll let you brief the group.

Everyone, listen up.

We have a possible breach.

Prep all classified documents and ciphers for immediate incineration, and get ready to crash your hard drives.

This is not a drill.

(urgent chatter)

What can I do?

If we got bad guys in the building, they're gonna want this.

What is it?

The crown jewels.

It's a recontact list of all our assets here, including those who identify and paint targets for us in the tribal areas.

Why not just burn it now?

Sandy Bachman spent three years building that network.

There must be an off-site backup.

Sandy didn't trust DC.

Too many leaks.

What do you want me to do with it?

You and me, we're gonna get it to the vault.

Now?

Just let me dump this.

(yells)

(men shouting in native language)

(panicked shouts)

Go, go!

Go!

(men speaking Pashto)

(whispering): Who are you calling?

Hensleigh.

(cell phone ringing)

sh*t.

(men speaking Pashto)

(whispering): Sir.

Stand up.

Tell me who has the list.

What list?

The traitors who help you to k*ll our women and children.

You're Muslim, yes?

Yes.

And yet you k*ll Muslims.

Does your family know what you're doing here?

What you've done?

They know.

Well... if you won't tell me where to find the list...

...this man will.

(Haqqani speaking Pashto over radio)

(man speaking Pashto)

(Haqqani speaking Pashto over radio)

(man speaking Pashto)

(Haqqani speaking Pashto over radio)

(whispering): What are they saying?

They're going to the embassy floor.

Why?

That's where the vault is.

Lockhart has a list they want.

sh*t, we got to get up there.

He didn't say how many men they've got?

We'll find out soon enough.

You got him?

I got him.

Good.

Let's get a radio.

(a*t*matic g*nf*re)

Man: I got him!

(shouting continues)

f*ck.

Same sn*per keeps changing position, hitting us from that construction site.

We're tied up on the other side.

It'd be helpful if you could lay down some suppression fire, keep him from sniping at us.

The guy's wearing a white pakol.

I'm no marksman.

I'll spot for you, though.

We gave him what he wanted.

He got his commanders back. Why hit us here?

It makes no sense.

We don't even know it's Haqqani.

And if it is, we can't assume he's a rational actor.

This isn't his endgame.

We'll sort it out later.

Movement on the side.

Third level down.

Far-right pillar.

You got a target.

f*ck.

He's setting up, Carrie.

See him?

Yeah.

Easy now.

(g*nf*re)

Carrie. Carrie, what are you doing?!

I'm trying to k*ll the m*therf*cker who's trying to k*ll us!

What do you think I'm doing?!

Khan's garrison is six klicks from here.

Those soldiers should be here by now.

Martha: I'm in the vault with CIA Director Lockhart.

He was at the station when it was overrun.

Yes, we're under att*ck-- what the hell do you think I've been saying?!

We have heavily-armed fighters inside the compound.

g*nf*re, casualties-- we need your immediate help!

Let me talk to him.

How about one of those AC-130 gunships we delivered to you last month.

g*dd*mn it, General.

This is your country.

The safety of this embassy is your responsibility.

I don't care what you have to do; just get them here!

What is the number for the prime minister's chief of staff? - Martha.

Man: Get on your knees, knees.

Open the door.

We know you're in there.

(quiet groaning)

Shh, shh.

I said open the door.

This is Ambassador Martha Boyd.

You are in violation of international law.

Open the door.

The Pakistan Armed Forces are on their way.

You will all be k*lled.

I will ask you one more time only.

Martha: I can't do it.

I'm under strict protocol.

The door won't open until I get an all-clear from the Diplomatic Security Command Center in Washington.

Send out Mr. Lockhart.

(gasps softly)

He's not here.

Don't lie to me.

I'm not.

He has materials in his possession, a certain list.

That's all I want.

Give it to me, and no one else dies.

I told you, I can't do it.

Jesus f*cking Christ.

You can execute them all, there's not a damn thing I can do.

No, no, no, take me, take me!

(whimpering)

Give me the list, or I will k*ll her right here, right now.

Stop. Stop.

I'm coming out.

The hell are you doing?

What does it look like?

I'm giving him what he wants.

Are you f*cking kidding me?

Open that door, and we're all dead.

Including the assets on that list.

You don't know that.

I can damn well guess.

You have ten seconds, Mr. Lockhart.

He's gonna cut her head off, for Christ's sake.

It's a w*r, Andrew.

Well, I can't just stand here and watch.

Now, move aside.

I won't.

Back the f*ck off!

What is this?

It's on a countdown, assh*le.

Don't hurt her.

You hear me? I'm coming out.

Open the door.

There's a timer, it's on a countdown.

49 seconds, 48...

Haqqani: No games, Mr. Lockhart.

No, no!

No games.

You have my word.

(whispering): What's going on?

They're at the door to the vault.

Three hostages are down.

Haqqani has a Kn*fe to the throat of the...

...throat of the fourth.

What do we do?

They got this place mapped out, right?

They knew about the tunnels and the vault.

Right.

That means they know about the emergency stairwell at the back of the ambassador's office.

What are you thinking?

I say we chase them toward the exit.

There's only two of us.

This is a surgical strike, it's not a su1c1de mission.

They'd rather run than engage in firefight.

You sure?

No.
(beeping, lock clicks)

(lock clicks)

sh*t.

Give it to him.

Lockhart: There.

Now let her go.

(speaking native language)

Oh, no, no.

No. No.

Haqqani: k*ll them all.

(men shouting)

Private: It's clear, sir!

(speaking native language)

(expl*si*n)

(fire alarm ringing)

(ringing continues)

f*ck!

(horn honking)

Backup's here.

(horn honking)

(honking continues)

My God.

Grim details continue to emerge from Islamabad, where the US embassy was att*cked earlier today.

In scenes reminiscent of Benghazi, Libya, gunmen overran parts of the compound, leaving as many as 40 Americans dead.

According to the Taliban, the att*ck was in retaliation for drone strikes in the northwest part of the country.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army has sealed off the area immediately surrounding the embassy and will provide security at the site until order in the capital is restored.

Although the att*ck is believed to be an isolated incident...

(phone ringing)

...security measures at...

(turns off TV)

You want to take it or should I?

All yours.

Hello?

Yes, I'll hold.

You were mean.

All she wanted was your approval, and all you gave her was a hard time.

I was training her, Max.

You could've said something nice.

Just once.

Would've meant so much.

I wish I had.

Just a few words is all.

Because she was really doing okay.

More than okay.

Lockhart: Carrie?

I need a moment.

I just got off with the White House.

And?

We're getting out of Pakistan.

The president's decided to break off diplomatic relations.

I can't say I'm surprised.

The att*ck was clearly state-sponsored.

They've got blood on their hands.

Glad you feel that way.

Because we're being evacuated in the first wave tomorrow morning.

Not me. I'm staying behind.

I don't think so.

At least until we get as many of our assets out of harm's way as possible.

Carrie...

Haqqani will hunt them down one by one.

Listen to me.

The president isn't comfortable with you representing our interests here any longer.

In any capacity.

From now on, all covert operations will be run out of Kabul Station.

It's my fault.

I never should've given over that list.

It was a tough call.

I'm not sure what I would've done, either.

Thank you for saying that.

What time's the transport?

06:30.

(door opens)

You said you wanted to see me.

You said it was urgent.

I heard we're-we're bugging out tomorrow.

You heard right.

What happens then?

You're officially taken into custody and charged with treason.

I meant... what happens to you?

Unclear.

I'm so sorry, Martha.

I really am.

36 people lost their lives today.

What am I doing here, Dennis?

What do you want?

What do you want?

Give me your belt.

What?

Give me your belt.

I will do no such thing.

Think about it, Martha.

It could spare you a lot of heartache.

You mean spare you.

Spare us both.

No trial, no sentencing, no public hearing.

Dennis, stop.

Not to mention what's best for Toby.

His father alive for one thing.

A traitor?

Locked up in a supermax prison?

I don't think so.

Are we really having this conversation?

We are.

You can't possibly expect me to...

If anyone deserves to die today...

We are not having this conversation.

It might even... open a path to saving your career.

Everybody at the State Department knows how valuable you are.

So?

So... if I never came home, the worst of it can be swept under the rug.

"Swept under the rug"?

Why not?

These are the people who can rewrite yesterday's weather.

You're serious?

You would actually...?

It's all I've been thinking about.

It's the one good thing that I can do now.

I don't know what to say.

Don't say anything.

Just let it happen.

My life's ruined.

Yours doesn't have to be.

No.

No. You know I'm right.

(sighs)

I can't.

You can.

It can't...

...be my belt.

Mine's in the locker.

Top left.

Go get it, Martha.

Now, bring it back here.

Bring it back.

Martha, please.

Let me do this one last thing for my family.

(door opens)

Martha?

Quinn: Come on, focus.

I need a break.

Listen to me. I put a b*llet in Haissam Haqqani.

That means that right now he is somewhere seeking medical attention.

Likely in the same place you were held before the exchange.

This is our last best chance to get him before he melts back into the FATA.

I told you.

I didn't see anything.

I was hooded the whole time.

Not the whole time. You said they took it off to make a video.

The windows were blacked out.

I could've been anywhere.

Was it ground floor or higher?

I was led up some stairs.

How many flights?

At least two.

So, it could've been an apartment then?

Maybe. I don't know.

What about the boy with the b*mb vest?

Had you seen him before?

No.

The first time was in that room.

So, he-he could've been from here, a local kid?

Maybe from the madrassa where we first saw Haqqani?

I don't know.

Never even knew his name.

Okay, okay.

Okay. (clears throat)

Tell me about the phones again.

What about them?

You said Haqqani switched them out religiously.

New burner was given to every man every morning.

Like clockwork.

Was it the same make of phone or a different one?

Oh, I don't know.

Come on, Saul.

Try to remember. This is important.

Sky Vega? Lenovo?

HTC?

I can't remember what I didn't know.

You had it in your hand!

You called Carrie with it!

I was in the mountains. It was pitch black out there.

You dialed her number.

Did you dial it on a keypad or on a screen?

Oh, g*dd*mn it, Saul!

Sit up and f*cking remember!

Remember!

I'm in the middle here.

Of what?

Debriefing Saul.

It looks more like an interrogation to me.

Maybe it is.

Give him a break.

In 72 hours, Haqqani will be in the wind, and Saul is the key to locating him before he's smuggled out of Islamabad.

We're pulling out, Quinn, suspending relations.

What are you talking about?

The warden system's been initiated, and we're under an evacuation order.

Do they not know what went down here?

Do they not care?

They care.

And they can choose to just walk away?

Like that's an option?

We're handing Haqqani Afghanistan on a platter.

f*ck that!

No, not "f*ck that."

This time, we listen to them.

Why?

Because for once, they're right.

You don't believe that.

Our diplomatic immunity is gone.

Our networks are blown. And if you're right, if Haqqani still is in the capital, he's being protected by an army of ISI officers. No way we get to him now.

We have to try.

No.

Hey, you're the one who got me here.

You're the one who said all this was important.

Well, guess what? It is now.

You will die trying, or worse, and I won't allow it.

The first transport leaves for the airport tomorrow morning at 6:30.

You're on it.

Pack your things. That is a direct order.

What was that about?

A difference of opinion.

You all right?

(sighs) Not even close.

I'm old.

I've made a fool of my time.

You haven't.

Completely.

People are dead because of it.

I want you to know something.

The att*ck on the embassy, it was Haqqani's plan all along.

From the very beginning.

Way before you were abducted.

That's why he went to such great lengths to make us believe he was dead.

That's why he had Sandy Bachman k*lled in the street.

Did you hear me, Saul?

It was Haqqani's plan all along.

Sergeant?

Which ones are the Talibs?

In the back, sir.

Excuse me, sir. Excuse me, sir.

Are you authorized to be down here?

Just gonna take some pictures, see if I can ID these m*therf*ckers.

You good?

Yes, sir.

(beeping, shutter clicking)

(beeping, shutter clicking)

(beeping, clicking continue)

Hello. May I speak to Kourosh Sherazi?

Hello, Mr. Sherazi.

My name is Carrie Mathison.

I'm calling from the United States Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, regarding your daughter.

Yes, that's correct.

Fara Sherazi.

Parvez: Our so-called allies.

A day late and a dollar short.

f*ck you, too, assh*le.

Right on schedule.

Thanks for this.

Not a word to Carrie, okay?

Okay.

Sure you don't want me with you?

You've done more than enough.

See you Stateside.

You better.

(speaking native language)

(crowd chatter, music playing)

(speaking native language)

(speaking Urdu)

Is too much!

You're gonna need it.

(shouting)

(panicked shouting)

(shouting continues in distance)

f*cking drive.

Stop.

Where is Haqqani?

I don't know.

Turn around.

(groans)

(panting)

Thanks.

Lockhart: What do you mean,

"no sign of him"?

He's nowhere on the embassy grounds, I know that.

And you say he was in a volatile state?

Very. I went so far as to put a guard on his door.

What'd he do then, go out the window?

Oh, for Christ's sake.

The last thing we need rig now is another Ray Davis wandering around Islamabad.

Or another Sandy Bachman.

Give me five days.

I'll bring him in.

I can't do that, Carrie.

Many, many more Americans would be dead today if not for him.

We can't just leave him in the cold.

Will this ever f*cking end?

Five days, sir.

It'll be resolved by then, one way or the other.

You do know you would be without official cover?

I know that.

Both of you.

(sighs)

Five days.

So, we all here?

I don't think so, no.

If you're talking about Peter Quinn, we're leaving without him.

Actually, I was talking about my husband.

I haven't seen him all morning.

He's in the lead SUV, Martha.

He was brought up earlier.

He was?

Yeah. He'll be traveling to Washington in custody.

Good to know.

Lockhart: Shall we?

Ma'am, this is you.

Give me a minute.

I'm not going.

Quinn?

Yeah.

He's crazy to think he can get to Haqqani all by himself.

He could easily wind up dead or in Adiala prison.

Comes a point at which you're no longer responsible.

Well, I'm not there yet.

I know.

President's ordered the Fifth Fleet into the Gulf.

I heard.

Could get out of hand.

"Could"? (scoffs)

I don't want to leave without you.

I'm right on your heels, Saul.

Be very careful.

I will. I will.
