3, 2, 1, zero.

You go in off that.

It's 1, 2, 3, go.

Zero. That's when you go in.

f*ck.

The guy's not stopping!

The warhead that went up was supposed to go to freedom fighters.

Why not just give them one of the other weapons?

Because they're already spoken for, aren't they?

Major, we have a visitor.

20's days are numbered after this little screw-up.

Knox: I'm afraid nothing will really change until I let these bombs go off.

[g*nsh*t]

Now I have eyes on Hanson!

Do it.

Man in helicopter: Put the g*n down!

Michael, promise you'll never forgive me.

You told Knox that we turned the lawyer.

So you're gonna sh**t me?

That's what I do.

I'm a cold-blooded k*ller, remember?

Damien, k*lling me isn't gonna erase your past.

You know that.

It's not gonna make anything better.

f*ck!

Hanson's in custody.

The South Africans are closing in hard on Bryant.

I want you there with them.

Yeah, roger that.

I'm on my way.

So now what?

We gonna put a b*llet in each other?

Maybe that's how things are supposed to end between us, Christy.

No.

I can get you to Knox.

Go f*ck yourself.

He asked me to set up a meeting between him and the Nigerians.

Where?

He tells me, I tell you.

You get to play the good soldier if you can--

If what, Christy?

Get me out of here.

Your call, baby.

Sit on that couch.

Man: Get up!

Get up, get up, get up, get up!

Thanks.

Get out!

Here.

Aah!

Aah!

[Coughing]

[Alarm ringing]

Scott: Go!

Scott: Run!

Bryant, stop!

Stay the f*ck where you are!

Scott: Mike, no!

No.

What the f*ck are you doing?

Put that g*n down, Michael.

Michael...

f*ck.

Put the f*cking g*n down. Come on.

You're smuggling out a target, Scott.

Put that g*n down.

Please.

Don't sh**t her.

I just let the man who sh*t my wife ride away in the back of a police car.

Now, I could have k*lled him, but I chose the mission, Scott.

This is about the mission. Please.

You got to trust me on this.

Don't sh**t her.

Mike.

Mike, please.

Go. Go.

Thanks.

Scott: Run!

Go! Go!

Scott: Get out of the car!

Get out of the f*cking car!

Out! Get out! Out!

[Tires screeching]

sh*t!

sh*t.

[Door opens]

Hanson got himself arrested.

Did he, now?

Mr. Knox, I need to ask.

This meeting...

What the lawyer said--

I'm not seeing how dealing with these Nigerians can get you what you want.

I know places we can...

It's not too late to leave, regroup, find another way.

That map used to belong to my old man.

He sent it home from Johannesburg.

He worked there for a while after the w*r.

Used to hang on our living room wall... covering a damp patch.

I used to love looking at it, all those colors.

Till I found out what they meant.

Belgian Congo.

French West Africa.

British f*cking Empire.

We were all supposed to join him.

Then suddenly he was home... and the map came down.

You got this cigarette to tell me your play.

When the coup went south, Knox thought of another use for the weapons.

I hooked him up with Lucas because he had all the contacts, but I was setting Knox up.

As soon as I knew where those bombs were, I'd call the marines in, and I'd get back in the good graces of the company.

But the truck crash f*cked everything up.

It had the Nigerians wanting their money back and Lucas wanting out.

At the base, I knew you already had Lucas.

I knew you'd turn him, so I had to tip off Knox.

Why?

To keep his trust.

And a little percentage for yourself.

What does it matter, as long as I get him to you?

It's all part of the game.

Don't call it a f*cking game.

It's not a game when innocent people get k*lled.

I told you that 7 years ago.

You haven't changed a bit.

What we were doing then was important work.

No, Christy, what was important was that you faced up to what we'd done, to what we'd become.

A couple of K*llers f*cking each other between marks.

You and I were more than that.

No, we weren't.

You made that quite clear.

I told you I was done after what happened.

I gave you a choice-- me or the next job.

You made your f*cking choice.

You know how I feel about you.

Bullshit, Christy.

If you feel anything for me, Christy, then you'll do this one thing for me.

[Telephone ringing]

Ozzy. The CIA lady.

Knox, huh?

If he wants to meet, we meet here.

Anywhere else is just too dangerous.

[Siren]

[Gasping]

Oh, Jesus. Stop the car.

He's gonna hurl.

[Siren stops]

Come on out the car.

[Vomiting]

Ugh.

Ugh.

You ok? Uh!

Man: He's out!

Different man: sh**t!

[Man shouts]

Aah!

Aah!

[Cheering and clapping]

[Speaking foreign language]

Ha...

The prodigal son returns.

Yeah.

Knox is going back to the Nigerians?

You're sure?

No.

Apparently, that's what she heard.

When she finds out where, I asked her to contact me.

What, you... appealed to her better judgment?

Yeah. What did you want me to do-- bring her back here?

She wouldn't have told us a f*cking thing.

You went there to k*ll her, didn't you?

We all know I worked contracts for Christy.

I made sure I read every file on my targets, cover to cover.

Except on my last contract for her, the file neglected to mention that my target... a corrupt American businessman... dealing with FARC was driving his son Daniel to school that day.

[Scott exhales]

Quito, Ecuador.

July 14, 2005.

That was the day I blew up a kid for the stars and stripes.

So, yeah, I went to k*ll her.

And she offered us a sh*t at Knox, so...

Well, you didn't know that the CIA had cut her loose.

She's on the run from her own side.

She'll only be watching her own back.

She does that.

I know it's a long sh*t.

But that's all we got, mate.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Welcome to Hillbrow-- the end of the line.

Needs must.

This is the place.

Hey, white man.

White man.

Yeah, what do you want?

We're looking for Ozzy.

Where's your boss?

Come with me.

Sometimes I tell them they cannot just do whatever they want.

[Cell phone beeps]

Is that her?

Yeah.

Crest Hotel. Sixth floor.

What about it?

That's Knox and the Nigerian's RV point.

That address is Hillbrow.

It's a warren of h*jacked buildings, a no-go area for the police.

But if Knox is in there, I'm coming.

Over there.

Mr. Knox, welcome.

A pleasure to finally meet you.

Ha ha ha!

Look at this.

Look at this.

Now the big man is in my place.

Ha ha.

Sit.

Dalton: Bravo, rendezvous with Delta Team in 10.

Stonebridge: Roger that, Zero!

Check. Let's go!

Well, gentlemen, my work here is done.

Subject to...

They're clean?

Something's got to be clean around here.

Christy: Nice doing business with you, gentlemen.

Go.

Yeah, move.

I have to remind you that I am still out of pocket.

I hate this town enough without having to lose my money here, too, now, huh?

I need to know the extent of your commitment-- how much you really want to change the face of our continent.

Our continent?

Listen to this guy.

[Men laughing]

Our continent!

Our continent.

And adopted son can love a mother just as much.

Stonebridge: Yeah, roger that.

I saw an opportunity.

Nuclear weapons... they're strange things.

How much do I hate this city?

What will you do to prove it?

The great freedom fighters of the Niger Delta will carve the path to liberty with the aid of this w*apon.

Stonebridge: Delta Team leader is down.

I repeat, Delta Team leader is down.

Stonebridge: Hold tight.

Stonebridge: Negative on Knox.

Ok.

Go!

Move, move, move, move!

f*ck!

Two g*ns!

Yeah, I see them.

I see them.

Scott: f*ck me!

What are you doing?

I'm handing in my notice, Mr. Knox.

I got you out of there in the hope you'll live long enough to come to your senses.

I signed up for a coup.

That's soldiers' work.

But blowing up a city... for some personal grievance?

I don't know who you're trying to pay back... but don't claim this is about integrity or justice.

It ends here.

I should have known this would go bad.

I should have known when you made me hire that sick f*ck Hanson.

[g*nsh*t]

[Matlock gasping]

Didn't have you down for a deserter.

sh*t in the back.

That figures.

For Christ's sake, finish it.

[g*nshots]

What did I miss?

Dalton: Yes, Knox is in the wind.

You need to know that targeting the Nigerians was the right thing to do.

We have a job to finish here.

Ava, it's your father.

Now listen.

Knox: What they've been saying me on the television and in the papers, but I want to explain, face to face.

I'm in Cairo, so just pack up your things and get on the next flight.

We've had a trace on Knox's daughter's phone for 4 weeks.

Knox: You don't want to disappoint your old man.

Baxter: I've got his exact location.

Stonebridge: f*ck.

Stonebridge: Major?

Dalton: What have you got?

Why does a man who burns his passport arrange to meet someone abroad?

'Cause he's staying.

And he wants them to leave.

Move out! Move out!

Come on! Come on!

Jump on! Jump on!

Knox doesn't act randomly.

If he's asking his daughter to leave Jo'burg, he will have a target in mind.

"Philip Knox, the Colonial Endeavour Bank."

Richmond!

Move out, move out, move out, move out.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Move, move, move, move, move.

Come on. Come on.

Come on, boys.

Come on, come on, come on. Let's go!

Richmond: Records show Knox's father worked at the bank until 1950.

The building was demolished in the sixties to make way for a children's playground.

The unofficial bank of Apartheid.

Half the gold and diamonds of Africa went through those doors but never came out.

Where did they go?

One of the worst-kept secrets in Johannesburg.

The tunnels.

[Man speaking foreign language]

Watch the corner.

Watch the corner.

Richmond: They moved the gold and diamonds under the city.

There are still a dozen entry points to those tunnels to this day.

Baxter: License plate recognition coming in.

Bingo. Major.

Baxter: This plate matches one on a vehicle that was seen leaving after the sh**ting of the lawyer Lucas.

It's parked really close to one of the entry points to the tunnels.

It leads directly to the site of the old Colonial Endeavour.

That's f*cking Hanson.

We find Hanson, we find those bombs, Major.

Scott: He wants us to find him.

Dalton: Right. I want visual above ground for that whole area.

CCTV, face recognition, everything.

Baxter: I'm already on it.

Richmond, let's go!

Scott: All right, we're going down.

Dalton: We're gonna lose comms down there.

Stay above ground.

Dalton: Come down if you need to.

Major, I have visual on Knox.

Where is he?

He's half a click from your current location.

I'm uploading coordinates now.

Dalton: In position.

Stonebridge: Let's go.

The bank vaults are this way.

Scott: Copy that.

Stonebridge: Clear.

Scott: Yeah, clear.

What have you got over there?

A f*cking shitload of wires and a big f*cking b*mb.

All right.

Wait, wait, wait, wait.

Should we open her up?

Uh, yeah.

What's the worst that could happen?

Scott: I promise I won't say "bang."

[Beeping]

[Different beeping]

Scott: What the f*ck?

It's paired.

There's two.

f*ck me.

Stonebridge: There's another b*mb.

m*therf*cker.

It's got to be in the other tunnel somewhere.

sh*t.

Major Dalton, I believe.

We know where they are.

My men are defusing them as we speak.

They're wasting their time.

Do you know what this is?

Do you understand what will happen if you release that button?

Julia.

Send.

Knox has a dead man's trigger.

You need to get down there and let them know.

Stonebridge: Go.

Scott: sh*t.

You'll be k*lling...

I know exactly how many people will be k*lled.

Not just the expl*si*n.

The radiation.

There's number two.

sh*t.

Yeah.

Cover me?

Yeah, I got you.

This is exactly like the last system.

It's definitely connected.

We've got siamese bombs?

If we deactivate this one without doing the other one at exactly the same time, it'll detonate.

sh*t.

All right.

I'm gonna head back to that first one.

Ok.

Give me exactly 5 minutes.

Yeah. Good.

[Beep]

Good.

All right.

So, Mike, on zero, we both pull those triggers.

It has to be at exactly the same time.

I know.

I know.

Good luck.

You, too, bud.

Knox: One square mile where half the wealth of a continent is being hoarded by a handful of very greedy men... even now.

Oh, sh*t.

[Coughing]

Why Kerry?

Why not me?!

I was standing right there.

Not enough.

You needed to know how it feels.

You took away my brother, and the only thing I gave a sh*t about.

This isn't about Africa.

This is about the bank.

This is about your father.

This is about you.

He worked here.

Very good.

Yes, he did.

He worked here for a while.

Till they spat him out.

He was offering loans to black traders, so they shipped him home and shattered all of our dreams.

Jake was a good kid.

And I should have done something, but I didn't.

Jake shouldn't have been there.

He wasn't like you and me.

And why would anyone really want to be anything like you and me?

Everything we've done.

I mean, f*ck this for a game of soldiers, Michael.

Look at us.

There is death in everything we touch, everything.

Stonebridge: Kerry!

Kerry.

Jake paid the price.

f*ck!

Scott: Come here!

[Man shouting]

f*ck.

Scott: Fucker.

Go! Go!

What the f*ck is it gonna take, Michael?

Uh!

f*ck me.

f*ck.

Come on, Stonebridge.

Scott: f*ck.

You better go on f*cking zero.

Hanson, no!

f*ck this. Mike!

Uh...

[g*nshots]

[Hanson gasping]

f*ck.

What the f*ck is going on?!

I want you to know...

I forgive you.

Richmond: Michael!

Stonebridge: Richmond! Come here!

Look around you.

Look at what you'd be blowing up.

It'll put an end to the corruption that this festering place is built on.

Please. An act of nihilism?

An act nevertheless.

sh*t!

Richmond: Michael!

It's Knox.

He has a dead man's trigger.

I have to talk to Scott.

There is no time.

We need a countdown-- a new countdown.

Come on.

Come on, Scott.

[Clanging]

4. Is that a f*cking countdown, Michael?

[Clanging]

3. Reading you loud and clear, bud.

2.

2.

1.

Go on zero.

f*ck me.

[Click]

No!

Oh, f*ck.

[Children laughing]

No!

[g*nsh*t]

Oh, God.

[People screaming]

Zero, weapons have been deactivated.

Do you copy?

Dalton has been sh*t, by Knox.

sh*t!

I have visual.

He's close by.

Richmond: You get Knox.

I'll look for Dalton.

Copy that.

[Distant siren]

Oh, f*ck!

Zero, we need medivac here now!

Baxter: Medivac ETA

5 minutes.

f*ck.

[Voices shouting]

Hey, hey, hey, hey!

Hey, he has a g*n!

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey!

[Men shouting]

Get the g*n!

[Woman screams]

[g*nshots]

[People screaming]

Back!

Move! Move!

Back! Stay back!

Man: I never touched him!

I never touched him.

He sh*t himself.

He fell on his g*n!

Look, he fell on his g*n.

He's dead.

It's all right.

It's all right.

[Heart monitor beeping]

Hey.

It's one of a matching pair.

Here.

Scott: We hung on to them like you said.

Stonebridge: Has the, uh... top brass been in?

Yeah. They brought me some grapes.

Dalton: You know, the thing about those tossers in Whitehall-- they can live with failures and casualties and defeat.

What really scares them is embarrassment.

They know these triggers should never have made it to Libya in the first place.

So I struck a deal.

I hand these over, keep my mouth shut, and Section 20 has a future after all.

New orders.

You mean after what happened with the nuke and the crash?

Stonebridge: We just assumed that heads would have to roll.

Maybe one head will be enough.

Let's go.

Ma'am.

Hey.

It's a good thing there was two of you.

Nice.

Yeah.

I don't know about you, but I think the city owes us a beer.

A beer?

I think this city owes me 4 weeks in Bora Bora on a yacht with a f*cking hot "Playboy" centerfold.

That's what I want.

How'd it play out in the end, Mike, with you and Hanson?

I did the one thing he didn't want me to do.

What's that?

I forgave him.

sh*t.

You're a better man than me, Michael.

Kerry would be proud.

Thanks.

And how about you?

What about me?

Did you forgive yourself?

For Daniel?

Yeah.

No.

I don't think that's ever gonna happen.

You know that dream I told you about I keep having?

I keep running, can't get away from it?

Yeah.

I think I'm gonna stop running.

That's probably a good idea.

Yeah. Slow things down to a walk.

A gentle stroll.

Yeah. That sounds nice.

You know, I looked it up, by the way.

What's that?

Zero. It's not only a concept, but it is a number.

Are you f*cking serious?

You looked that up?

Yeah, I did, like in 10, 20, 30--

Now, stop that.

You know 10, 20, 30.

Stop it. Shut up.

Like 10, 20, 30.

It means zeroes do exist.

Mike, I don't care.
