Previously on "God Friended Me" Three weeks ago, I found a lump.

You have a ductal carcinoma in your left breast.

Well, I was considering freezing my eggs before treatment.

Ali, this is no time to be taking risks.

I have decided to meet with a fertility specialist.

I need to do this.

Look, I know this isn't easy for us, but we're still friends, and I am so thankful for that.

Me too.

It's just a lot harder than I thought.

- Yeah, I know.

- Adam Gray.

You know, I've heard a lot about you.

I was hired by Alphonse Jeffries.

What can you tell me about Alphonse Jeffries?

We served in the w*r together.

I think he may be behind the God Account.

I'm sorry.

I'm not behind the God Account.

Why would you hire someone to hack your system when you bought "New York Sun"?

I didn't hire anyone to hack my system.

The hacker.

He took off.

Wait, you think he's behind the God Account?

Look what he left us.

Hey.

Hey, Rakesh.

We came as soon as we could.

You said it was important.

I swear, if this is about another food truck Well, there is a k*ller dumpling spot around the corner, but this is slightly better.

It's about the hacker connected to the God Account.

I got his name.

It's Tze Yin.

Follow me.

So I got his lease from his ex-landlord, and it had his cell phone listed, and I'm tracking it right now.

It should be up the block.

Rakesh, that's incredible.

Yeah, if we can find Tze, then we can figure out who's behind the God Account.

Well, he should be right about here.

That's weird.

It's saying we're standing right next to Tze Yin.

I'm Tze Yin.

Uh, Rakesh, didn't you say he was, like, 25?

He is.

Um, sir is this your phone number?

Yes.

Uh, well, you wouldn't happen to rent an apartment in SoHo, would you?

No, I think you might have me confused with someone else.

Well, either that's Tze in an incredible disguise, or he put a bogus name on his apartment lease.

Okay, so first the guy plays us by leaving the queen of hearts at the apartment, and now this?

We don't even know the guy's real name.

Well, I think for the sake of simplicity, we should just stick with calling him Tze for now.

Fine.

Um, look, any luck on tracking down Tze's online poker handle?

Wait, what are you guys talking about?

Well, when we first met Tze, he was playing poker at A-ListPoker.

net.

It's for high rollers, very exclusive, but, unfortunately, the handle he was using, it was registered to a dummy email.

I mean, if he logs back in, I can trace his location, but up until then, all we can do is basically just wait.

That's okay.

We'll figure it out.

And hopefully our next Friend Suggestion gives us a lead on who's behind the God Account.

I don't I don't think so.

What makes you so sure?

Because my next Friend Suggestion is me.

I don't get it.

Why would the God Account send me my own name?

Well, maybe there's something you need to help yourself with.

I mean, at least you can skip the awkward part where you have to explain you aren't the God Account.

Hey, Al.

How you feeling?

I am good, just like I told you last night and again this morning.

Okay.

I'm sorry.

I will back off for a few hours.

What are you working on?

I am making a spreadsheet to track my fertility treatments.

Oh, yeah.

How are things going?

So far, it's all good two weeks in.

I've got an ultrasound later on today, and the doctors are optimistic, so Well, that's great to hear.

What are you guys up to?

Oh, you know, usual Monday.

Miles just got a Friend Suggestion for himself.

That's weird.

What do you think it means?

No clue.

Hmm.

Oh, speaking of Facebook, Miles, I didn't know you were so passionate about saving the whales.

Ali, what are you talking about?

The fund-raiser you posted for your birthday in two weeks.

What?

Ali, I didn't start a fundraiser.

Okay, well, someone did, and I gave them 25 bucks.

What?

No.

There is nothing on my page about a fundraiser.

It's a scam.

Ali, can I see your laptop?

Yeah.

Uh-huh.

So this is Ali's Facebook page, right?

This is the alert from Miles about the fundraiser.

You click on it, and instead of sending you to Miles's page, it sends you to a clone account.

Identical, except for the fundraiser.

Okay, so someone hacked my account.

No, it wasn't hacked.

It was cloned.

Someone used your name and created an identical profile.

Wait, Miles, pull up the Friend Suggestion you got for yourself.

Is the fundraiser on that page?

Yeah, it is.

So the God Account didn't send me a Friend Suggestion for myself, but for this clone page?

Looks that way.

But why do that?

Well, maybe it wants you to help whoever cloned it.

Yes.

Hey, Rakesh, can you trace their IP?

Yeah, I'm on it.

And the plot thickens.

The IP traces to a satellite office for the Department of Defense.

The God Account wants me to help a scammer that works in the government?

We're gonna find out soon enough, 'cause I sent just a private message to fake Miles telling him he got 30 minutes to meet us in the lobby of the DoD, or we're gonna report their scam to their employers.

Our scammer just responded.

He should be on his way down right now.

Okay, good, because we're gonna need an explanation.

Hey, you don't think we made a mistake reaching out like this, do you?

What are you talking about?

Look around I mean, government suits, high-tech security.

The guy could be CIA for all we know.

What if we just blackmailed Jason Bourne?

We?

This was your idea.

I kind of signed the private message as the real Miles Finer, so in this together, bro.

Miles Finer?

Uh, yeah.

Who are you?

I'm Zack Waller.

Wait, you're the guy that cloned my account?

- You're a kid.

- Said you wanted to talk.

So what do you want?

Well, you cloned my account and you scammed my friends and family.

I want to know why.

Because I could.

Anything else?

Okay, you got way too much attitude for a 14-year-old, and also, how are you working at the DoD?

I'm 16, and I got an internship with their cyber unit last month.

I'm somewhat of a coding prodigy.

You know, a prodigy would know better than to use people's social media to steal their money.

It worked, right?

If it worked, Zack, we wouldn't be here.

Well, I still got the money, so Anyway, who do you guys work for?

I have a podcast, and Rakesh works at IdentitySeal.

Wow.

For a second, I thought I was in actual trouble.

I want to know why you cloned my profile and why you chose me.

Look, I didn't choose you, all right?

I programmed a very complex algorithm that scrapes up data and makes picture-perfect copies of people's personal profiles who were born this month.

So I take it you're an Aquarius, yeah?

There you go.

So you're just doing this to steal people's money?

I mean, it's a little side hustle - a little pocket change.

- Well, look, Zack, that stops now.

I want you to take down the clone pages and return all of the money.

Look, if it'll make this conversation end, I'll take down the accounts, but there's no way I'm giving back that money.

- I can't.

- Yes, you can.

And if I don't, what?

Hmm?

What?

You're gonna report me?

Go ahead.

Really, 'cause by the time anybody investigates me, I'll just erase all the evidence.

So good talk.

So what do we do now?

I don't know.

But something tells me that kid is doing way more than just scamming a few bucks off of the Internet.

And for whatever reason, the God Account wants us to help him.

We need to figure out why.

Adam.

Love what you've done with the place.

Hey, what are you doing here?

Just thought I'd drop by and congratulate you on your promotion.

Oh.

Well, thank you.

And congrats on your new job at Vice, by the way.

I know we didn't really get to talk before you left.

Better late than never.

Yeah.

So is that the only reason you stopped by?

No, actually, I wanted to Oh, sorry.

I'm looking into something.

Anything I can help with?

Uh, not unless you play poker at A-Listpoker. net.

I don't.

However, I did do a piece on New York's underground poker scene a few months back.

A-List is actually a very exclusive site, and the founder hosts a high-stakes table at a secret location in the city.

You're kidding Miles and I are looking for someone who plays on that site.

His name is Tze Yin.

Never heard of him, but most of the high rollers on A-List do play at this table.

Maybe he's one of them.

Well, do you have any idea where the game is?

I don't.

I can check with my original source, see if they're willing to give me a location.

Yeah, that would be great.

Thank you.

I owe you one.

I'm gonna go.

Oh, uh, wait, what did you want to tell me?

Nothing.

I'll call you when I hear something.

Okay, so our Friend Suggestion is a 16-year-old coding genius who interns at the DoD?

Yeah, totally normal thing for a teenager to do.

There is nothing normal about this kid.

I mean, the algorithm he built to pull off his little scam is very advanced.

I'm impressed.

I mean, kid's got game.

So any idea what the God Account wants us to do for him?

Other than stopping him from ripping people off, no clue.

Well, I'm digging into Zack right now, trying to see if there's more going on here than just, you know, a simple scam.

Ooh, how did things go at "Catapult"?

Oh, uh, actually, I ran into Adam Gray.

He came by to congratulate me on my promotion.

He's familiar with email, right?

Meaning?

Meaning, clearly, he wanted to see you in person, Cara.

Okay, Rakesh, it wasn't like that.

And anyways, okay, here's the interesting part.

So he wrote an article on the New York City poker scene.

Turns out, A-List holds an underground game for their high rollers, and he thinks that Tze might play there.

Does he know where the game is gonna be?

No, but he's talking to a source that might.

- Uh, guys, check this out.

- Wait, did you find something?

Kind of I mean, looks like Zack had his life together.

He's in ROTC, got accepted early into West Point.

So why risk his entire future over a few bucks?

It's actually way more than a few bucks.

Looks like Zack cloned hundreds of Facebook accounts all running the same birthday scam.

Wait, so how much money did he raise?

$10,000.

So now we're adding jail time into the mix if he gets caught.

We have to stop him.

Yeah, and since Zack has no intention of listening to us, his parents need to know what's going on.

Hey, Rakesh, can you Send you the Wallers' address?

Check your phone.

Just did.

All right, perfect.

Okay, I'm gonna talk to his parents in the morning.

- You want to come with?

- Yeah, sure.

Okay.

Rakesh, follow the money.

We need to figure out what Zack needs with $10,000.

You ever notice how no one ever makes eye contact in a waiting room?

Everyone's always on their phone, or they're just staring at the ground.

See?

Sorry.

Uh, let's break that trend.

- I'm Ali.

- Emily.

That's one of my favorite novels.

Hmm.

Mine too.

It's, uh, actually why I'm forcing my students to read it this semester.

I teach English at Harlem Parochial.

I went there growing up.

Small world.

Hey, is Mr.

Wheeler still teaching chemistry there?

Yeah, he's still going.

Are you waiting for someone, or Uh, no.

Just me.

I'm actually here 'cause I'm freezing my eggs.

I just don't really have much time for dating, and I'm not sure when I'll meet the right person, but when that day comes, I just want to make sure I have options, and I and I am totally over-sharing right now.

I-I'm sorry.

I-I do that.

Don't be sorry.

It's refreshing.

Hmm.

You're being generous, but I will take it.

What about you?

Same.

Yeah, yeah, things are busy with trying to plan out my future and working shifts at a bar.

Oh, you moonlight as a bartender.

I manage the Honeysuckle Rose.

Make the best damn Manhattans in Manhattan.

Well, I love a woman who knows how to make a good drink.

Emily Landry.

Uh, yeah, that's me.

It was really nice meeting you, Ali.

Yeah, you too.

Uh, hey, um, about what Rakesh said earlier about why Adam stopped by Miles, he wasn't there to ask me out.

And if he was?

Uh, then I would've said no.

I'm not interested in dating anyone right now.

Uh, this is the address.

Eric Waller?

That's me.

How can I help you?

Hi, my name is Miles Finer.

This is Cara Bloom.

We're here about your son Zack.

Is he in some sort of trouble?

He's running a scam on social media.

He stole money from a whole bunch of people, including my sister.

Come in.

How much has he stolen?

Uh, around $10,000.

Oh, my God.

I promise you.

I will make sure he returns every dime of that.

Do you have any idea what he would need that kind of money for?

Actually, I think I do.

His mom was a soldier.

Six months ago, she was doing a tour in Afghanistan when she was k*lled.

I'm sorry.

When we were denied the Gold Star for her service, Zack took it especially hard.

He idolized his mother the sacrifices she was making for her country.

He wants to follow in her footsteps.

Do you mind me asking why you were denied the Gold Star honor?

Because according to the m*llitary investigation, Meg went AWOL the night she was k*lled.

Zack thinks the Army is trying to cover up what really happened.

He mentioned trying to hire a high-priced lawyer a few weeks back.

That's what Zack needs the money for.

He wants to know the truth about what happened to his mom.

Yeah.

Except I don't think there was a cover-up.

Why is that?

Meg was in the middle of a 12-month tour.

The last time we spoke she was exhausted.

Sounded like she was ready to come home.

We were ready to have her home.

I don't know what happened.

But Zack won't let it go.

Look, he's a great kid, and he's got his whole future ahead of him.

I just don't want to see him lose it.

I know how hard this must be for you.

It is, but you coming to me instead of the police makes it easier.

Thank you.

So it seems like Eric can't get through to Zack.

Maybe we're supposed to help him do that.

We can call Joy.

Maybe she knows a lawyer who specializes in m*llitary cases.

Hey, it's Rakesh.

Hey, what's up?

Miles, are you guys still at Zack's place?

No, no, we just left.

Zack's dad is going to put a stop to the scam.

We think Zack is going to use the money to hire a lawyer.

Dude, I'm pretty sure the money was for something else.

- And he already used it.

- What do you mean?

Well, I was able to get into Zack's PayPal account, and it looks like all the money went towards buying a modified Raspberry Pi.

Zack spent 10 grand on dessert?

Contrary to conventional wisdom, a Raspberry P-I is not a delicious pastry.

It is a very powerful credit-card-sized computer.

What would Zack need with that?

Well, with the right code built into it, a hacker could use a Raspberry Pi to break into highly secure closed networks.

The DoD is home to classified m*llitary intelligence, as in the type of intel that would give Zack answers about his mother's death.

Zack is gonna hack into the Department of Defense.

Zack gets out of class at 2:30, which means we just b*at him here.

You know, I have to say, stopping a Friend Suggestion from hacking classified government intelligence, that's got to be a first.

What?

Wait, Rakesh just texted me saying that Zack's not coming to the DoD.

He gave me an address across town, said we need to get there ASAP come on.

Wait, weren't we just talking to Rakesh?

How does he even know where Zack is in the first place?

I don't know.

But if you're Zack and you're planning on hacking into the DoD, why all of a sudden go across town?

Something's not right.

- Miles, what's up?

- Hey, Rakesh.

Did you just send me a message saying that Zack's on the other side of town?

No.

What are you talking about?

Dude, I think Zack cloned your phone and sent me a text.

Damn, that's exactly what I would've done.

Yeah, Rakesh, we'll call you back.

Nice try.

You're smarter than I thought.

Mm-hmm.

Let's go.

- I like your new sidekick.

- Funny.

So what do you guys want this time, huh?

We spoke to your father this morning.

- Spoke to my dad?

- Yes.

He told us what happened with your mom.

He thinks you're gonna use the money you stole to hire a lawyer to find out answers about your mother's death.

Yeah, but we know your real plan involves the Raspberry Pi that's probably in your backpack right now.

So what if it does?

Look, Zack, we get that you want to know what happened to your mom, but hacking into the DoD is gonna put you in a lot of trouble.

Only if I get caught, which I won't, because I know what I'm doing, all right?

Unless you guys want to sell me out again.

I know what you are going through.

Losing a parent at such a young age is a very hard thing to handle.

No, you don't.

Okay?

Not knowing what really happened to her them saying she went AWOL If the m*llitary won't give me answers, I'll take them myself.

There's no other way.

You know what?

Actually, maybe there is.

I have a friend who's in the Army Lieutenant James Freemont.

He's done two tours in the Middle East.

He knows a lot of people maybe he can connect you with someone who was in your mother's unit.

You think I haven't tried that already, hmm?

Almost everyone in my mom's unit has been redeployed, and the only soldier I was able to talk to, - he didn't know anything.

- Zack, just gives us one day to try to figure this out for you.

Yesterday you were trying to turn me in, and now y-you want to help me?

Why?

Because despite committing multiple felonies, I think you have a pretty bright future ahead of you.

And, Zack, I don't want to see you throw that all away.

And I don't think your mother would've either.

Either way, you're not walking in there with the Raspberry Pi, so hand it over.

Fine.

- One day.

- Mm-hmm.

And after that, I want this back.

The doctor says everything looks good on my ultrasound.

- Mm-hmm.

- The hormone treatments are working, so I'm on track to have the procedure in about a week.

Great.

And I'll be in the waiting room to pick you up when it's all done.

So, if all goes according to schedule, you'll be starting your cancer treatment shortly thereafter.

Yes, Dad.

And it'll be okay.

I promise.

And thank you so much for being so supportive.

I'm here for you, sweetheart, always.

- Emily.

- Hey.

Uh, sorry if I'm interrupting.

No, not at all.

Dad, this is Emily.

We're new friends.

Emily, this is my dad, Arthur.

- Great to meet you.

- Same.

- Uh, we're still on for dinner tonight?

- Wouldn't miss it.

Excellent.

Nice meeting you.

Nice meeting you.

So what are you doing here?

I heard the bartender here makes a mean Manhattan.

And I would be happy to pour one for you on the house, but I thought we weren't supposed to drink during our fertility treatment.

Uh, I didn't come for a drink.

I came to say I had a really nice time yesterday, getting to you know.

So did I.

Good.

'Cause I'd love to get to know you more, you know, outside of a waiting room.

Maybe this Friday?

Unless I misread things.

You didn't misread anything.

It's it's just bad timing.

You're in a relationship.

- No.

- Just getting out of one?

No, that's not it.

- It's - Private.

I get it.

Sorry.

Well, maybe I'll see you around the waiting room.

Yeah.

- Ah, great to see you again, Miles.

- Good to see you, too.

And nice to finally meet you in person, Cara.

Yeah, you too.

I saw the video that went viral a few months ago of you and Rose kissing in Times Square.

I hope everything worked out between you.

Well, it more than worked out.

Rose and I just got engaged.

Dude, that's great.

Congratulations.

Thanks.

So what can I do for you guys?

It's about a friend of ours, Zack Waller.

His mother, Sergeant Meg Waller, was k*lled in Afghanistan.

They're saying she went AWOL.

Yeah, he he took the news really hard.

He's hoping to connect with someone from her unit that might know happened, but most of them have been redeployed.

I got a friend in Intelligence that owes me a favor.

I'll reach out to him right now, get back to you when I have something.

- Thank you.

- It's the least I could do after everything you've done for me.

Talk to you guys later.

Oh, uh, it's Adam.

He wants to meet.

- He's got a lead on a poker game.

- Hey, that's great.

I'll let you know when I hear back from Freemont.

Yeah.

Hey.

So my source tells me the game is happening tomorrow night.

They don't have an address just yet.

Oh.

Okay, great.

Thank you for going through all the trouble.

But isn't this something that you could've called me about?

The truth?

I wanted to see if you were interested in getting dinner sometime.

Oh.

Um Parker told me that you and Miles broke up, and I figured since we don't work together, I'd, um take a chance.

Look, Miles and I just broke up a few weeks ago.

I get it.

No pressure at all.

I'm just happy to be chasing this lead together.

I appreciate that.

I'll let you know as soon as I get the address.

Hey, Rakesh, can you sell this and refund all the money that Zack stole?

Sure, but first, I want to check out the kid's code.

Professional curiosity.

Okay.

Miles, this isn't a Raspberry Pi.

Yes, it is.

He gave it to me.

This is a backup hard drive, bro.

- Wait, what?

- Yeah.

He played you.

Okay, lucky for us, he didn't have a chance to wipe it before giving it to you.

There's still a copy of his VPN key in here.

Translation, please?

Well, his VPN gives us a way to log on to his otherwise untraceable private network, which then gives us access to his location.

- Okay, cool.

So where is he?

- Let's see.

He's back at the coffee shop across from the DoD.

Oh, no.

There's another IP address using the same VPN, and it's coming from inside the DoD.

He must've planted the Raspberry Pi already.

Miles, Zack has access to the DoD's intranet.

Wait, which means he can hack the DoD.

Not can, is, right now.

And if he gets caught, he's going to jail for a very long time.

Miles, what's up?

Rakesh, I just heard back from Freemont.

He found a soldier in Meg's unit, said that he's willing to talk to Zack.

- He may have answers.

- Okay, that's great.

Assuming we can stop him in time.

How are things going on your end?

I'm trying to shut down his VPN so he loses access to his Raspberry Pi, but, Miles, you need to hurry.

Well, yeah, I-I'm, like, a block away.

Okay, I called Cara.

She's on her way with Zack's dad.

How much longer can you hold him off?

Right now I'm using, like, every last shred of the IdentitySeal servers to slow him down, but every move I make, he seems to have an answer for.

Like, this kid, he's got serious skills.

Okay, bro, just buy me one more minute.

So did we make it in time?

I hope so.

- Dad, what the hell are you doing?

- It's over.

I'm stopping you from making a huge mistake.

Mistake?

Dad, I was 15 seconds away from the truth.

Mom would want us to know what happened to her.

But not if it's going to cost you your entire future.

Dad, I'm not giving up.

I can't.

It's not about giving up.

It's about coming to terms with the fact that we're never gonna know what happened.

And even if we did, it won't bring your mom back.

I know.

Dad, I know Mom's not coming back.

But one way or another, I'm gonna find out what happened to her.

And there's nothing you can do to stop me.

Zack, there is another way.

I heard back from Lieutenant Freemont, and he found someone who was a part of your mother's unit.

They just got back from a tour.

They can meet with you tomorrow, so you can get your answers the right way.

Ali.

Hey, Dad.

What are you doing here?

Well, when you canceled dinner tonight, I got concerned and wanted to make sure that you were okay.

I am.

I just I had a lot on my mind.

I know.

If you want to talk, I'm here to listen.

Do you remember my friend Emily, the one you met earlier?

Yeah, yeah, she seemed very nice.

She's great.

After you left, she asked me out on a date.

- Well, that's terrific, right?

- Actually, I said no.

You just said she was great.

Why would you say no?

Isn't it obvious?

Because of what you're facing.

It didn't seem fair to her.

Best-case scenario, the two of us really hit it off.

And then what?

I'm asking a stranger to hold back my hair while I throw up from the chemo?

- It's too much to take on.

- You're right, Ali.

I mean, you have a long fight ahead of you.

Exactly.

It's naive to think that your life won't change a great deal over the coming months, and if you're not interested in dating right now, well, that's fine, but just because your life will change doesn't mean it needs to stop.

Miles, Cara, this is Private Joseph Martinez.

Thank you for meeting with us.

This is Mr.

Eric Waller and is son Zack.

I think you knew Zack's mom.

I did.

Meg saved my life more than once.

She was one hell of a soldier.

Zack just wanted to ask you a few questions.

I'm pretty sure I know what this is about.

Do you know what happened to my mom and why they're saying she went AWOL?

Because she did.

Our squad was stationed outside a small village called Deh Bala.

We rotated sentry duty at night.

Meg relieved me at 23:00, and, uh that was the last time anyone saw her alive.

Classified her as AWOL the next morning.

Two scouts followed her jeep's tire tracks to a house on the outskirts of the district.

They found Meg's body.

But the house was empty.

I We have no idea why she was there.

No.

No, somebody is trying to cover up what really happened.

Okay, there's got to be more to the story.

Look, I'm sorry.

But there's no cover-up.

Thank you, Private.

Sorry, Zack.

This whole time, I I've just been searching for the truth.

And now I know I'll never get it.

Zack Waller?

Yes?

We're with the Department of Defense.

We recovered an unauthorized device.

We have you on camera entering and exiting the building within the five-minute time frame that this was planted.

We're gonna need to bring you in for some questioning.

It's been two hours, and they won't tell me anything.

Why haven't they released him yet?

I'm sure we'll hear something soon.

Yeah, and whatever happens, we'll help you figure this out.

Dad.

What happened?

Are they going to press charges?

No.

They they said they didn't have any evidence of me hacking the system.

Well, you can thank Rakesh for that.

I don't need it.

It's the Raspberry Pi.

Maybe you can sell it, pay everybody back.

I can do that.

They fired me, and they said they're gonna call West Point and revoke my admission.

We'll fight this.

Tell them everything you've been through.

Make them understand.

No, Dad, I I'm done fighting.

The the future I wanted is gone.

I don't care what happens next.

I'm sorry we couldn't help more.

Don't be.

If it wasn't for you, it could've turned out a lot worse.

Thank you.

I was hoping I'd run into you.

Can I just say something first?

I didn't mean to overstep and show up at the bar like that and ask you out.

You didn't.

I'm glad you asked.

- Really?

- The other day I wasn't being honest about why I'm freezing my eggs.

I have breast cancer.

And I am about to undergo treatment.

Ali, I am so sorry.

I didn't tell you in the bar because I was afraid of getting involved with someone, of being a burden because I cannot pretend to be strong for one more person.

I already have to pretend with my family.

But the truth is, I'm terrified.

Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than family.

Yeah.

I guess so.

Anyways, I just thought you should know that that's why I said no to a date.

It wasn't about you.

It's just this is my life right now.

So how's 7:00 tomorrow?

I don't get it like, why would the God Account put us through all of this just so Zack could give up on his future?

Look, at least we were able to save him from jail time, right?

Also, I was able to sell the Raspberry Pi.

I've been going through each of the cloned pages and refunding everyone he took money from, so Oh, great.

Adam got a location on the poker game.

He says it starts in an hour and to be on time.

Doors close by 8:00.

That's perfect.

Let's head down there.

- Hopefully Tze will be there.

- Miles, wait.

There's something strange about one of these clone pages from Zack's scam.

It's for a Raina Abass.

It says here she has a July birthday, but everyone else was in February.

Okay, so what are you trying to say?

Zack's algorithm was perfect.

Raina's profile should not be in here.

Unless the God Account wanted us to see it.

Yeah.

Wait a second, what was the name of the village where they found Zack's mom?

Deh Bala.

Why?

Look at Raina's hometown.

Deh Bala, Afghanistan.

That can't be a coincidence.

She immigrated from Afghanistan one month ago, and she's living in Queens with her family.

Wait, wait, wait, stop, stop.

Look at that picture.

That's Zack's mom.

Mm-hmm.

Rakesh, could you get me an address for Raina?

- Yeah, on it.

- The truth Zack was searching for was right in front of him the whole time.

Okay, you guys find Raina.

I'm gonna head to this poker game, but I'll call you if I find anything.

- Thanks.

- Yeah.

- Miles.

- Hey, Mr. Waller.

W-what are you guys doing here?

There's someone I would like for you to meet.

Your mother's unit was passing by my home on the outskirts of Deh Bala.

That's when I met her Sergeant Waller.

She offered us help when no one else would.

My husband and I were trying to get out of Afghanistan.

The insurgents found out about our plan, and they didn't want us to leave.

The next night they came.

They were going to k*ll us.

- But then - She came back to help you?

That's why she left her post?

She came alone.

She told me that she was violating orders and that she didn't want to put other soldiers at risk.

Which is why the m*llitary never found out the truth.

She fought off these men and allowed my husband and I to get out.

She gave her life doing it.

Five months later, we came to New York.

Without her, it would've never happened.

She saved us.

Your mother was the bravest, most selfless woman I have ever met.

I owe her my life.

I spoke to Lieutenant Freemont.

He's gonna talk to the m*llitary and let them know what really happened.

Now, your family may not receive a Gold Star, but your mother was definitely a hero.

Thank you, Miles.

You never gave up, son.

And now we finally know the truth.

And maybe we can still get you back into West Point.

Dad, what's done is done.

I can't get that back.

But just because I can't follow Mom's footsteps doesn't mean I doesn't mean I can't make my own path.

Actually, I might be able to help with that.

I got a couple friends on the board at MI who might be interested in, uh, floating a scholarship to the kid with the skills to allegedly hack into the Department of Defense.

- Are you serious?

- Yeah, yeah.

I can make a few calls, right after your internship with me at IdentitySeal.

We got to keep you out of trouble.

Okay?

What do you say?

- Um, um, yes.

Yes.

- Yes.

- I say yes.

- He says yes.

That was amazing.

Like, I've been missing out on the best part of helping our Friend Suggestions way too often.

Yeah.

Not bad, right?

Not bad at all.

All right, it is almost 8:30.

Hopefully Cara will be calling with some good news soon.

Uh, about that.

You're cool with Cara following this lead with Adam?

Look, Rakesh, I talked to her about it, and Cara's not looking to date anyone right now.

No, but sooner or later, - she will.

- Yeah, yeah, and, look, it's not gonna be easy, but she needs to live her life, and so do I.

Thanks again for doing this.

Of course.

And about what you asked earlier, I'm flattered, really.

I'm just not ready to date yet.

Totally get it.

When you are, give me a call.

Here for the game.

Then swipe your key.

Uh, a key?

No key, no entry.

Step aside.

Game closes in five minutes.

Come right in.

That was a queen of hearts.

Does that mean something to you?

Yeah, it does.

Hey.

Um, what happened?

I didn't hear back from you.

Yeah, well, we got there, but we couldn't get in without a keycard.

Wait, we hit another dead end?

Uh, I don't think so, actually.

Do you still have that queen of hearts that Tze left behind?

Yeah, but it's just Tze's way of reminding us that we got played.

No.

It's an invitation.

What do you mean?

The keycard that I needed to get into the poker game, it's a playing card, a queen of hearts, just like the one you have in your hand.

For some reason, I think Tze wants us at that game.

There's an RFID chip in here.

Cara's right.
