[ELLA] Bob and Lenore's specialty was varietals.

Huh. I... I'm fine. Whatever. It doesn't matter.

[Linda sighs] Maze, you and I both know that's not true.

Trixie means a lot to you.

And she's the last person you need to make up with since... your backslide into demon-dom.

[sighs] I...

Okay, Linda, what is going on with you?

Do you need to pee or something?

No. I sit all day. It's nice to be able to move around when I get a chance.

Okay. So, let's talk about what you're dealing with emotionally.

Yeah, I really don't want to. Okay, well, maybe it'd help if I spoke your language.

You speak Lilim?

[speaking demonic language]

What?!

No? Guess not.

No, I'm talking about v*olence.

Come on, stand up.

[chuckles] Okay, one, I like to fight when I'm happy or... horny.

And two, I really don't want to accidentally k*ll my best friend.

No. Well, I think you underestimate me, Maze.

Uh, I've been doing some kickboxing.

I've got moves.

Um... I'll let you take a free sh...

Hey!

Linda! Stop it, you two!

It's good I'm here.

I can't allow you guys to fight over me any longer.

Uh... Oh.

[AMENADIEL] Ah. You're not... fighting over me, are you?

No. But it's... sweet of you to think so.

[chuckles]

We made up a month or so ago.

So do you need my help?

With this or... anything... else?

No, we're good.

We're good.

Are you okay?

Well, I went back home to the Silver City.

That's amazing. It should be.

It's exactly as I remembered it.

But... [sighs] why did it feel so... different?

Why didn't it feel like...

Like home?

[sighs] Because this is your home.

[Chloe groans] Mmm.

I'm just getting Reynolds's voice mail.

Any luck tracing his phone?

I'm triangulating it now.

Not sure how long it'll take, though.

Or whether or not he had anything to do with this.

I think he did; made a couple discreet calls to the marshal's office.

Two of the ex-cons under Reynolds's protection have d*ed in the last couple years.

Well, who k*lled them?

Well, that's just it. One was an angry girlfriend, the other one was a hit-and-run that looked like it was mob-related.

Ah.

So our dear marshal weaponized the very secrets only he knew.

He let certain enemies know where the criminals were hiding.

Or told the new girlfriends and wives the truth, knowing how betrayed they'd feel.

And voilà.

The dirty work was done for him. That is remarkably efficient.

But in Bob's case, nobody took the bait.

So, maybe Reynolds got frustrated and decided to get his own hands dirty.

The question is: why?

I'll keep digging, see if I can find more.

[sighs]

So, why did Lenore run?

Well, if Reynolds met with her previously, and probably she trusts him...

So, maybe he reached out to her, to tell her she was in danger?

Oh, and little did she know how true that was.

Just got a hit on Reynolds's GPS, so, you know, might be a good idea to...

[whispers] You guys got this.

[sniffling]

Why? [whimpers]

Why are you doing this?

Please.

[crying] Please don't. Please don't.

Don't. No. I'm sorry.

But there's no other way.

Please don't. [LUCIFER] Sure there is.

There are loads of ways to k*ll her, literally tons.

But you chose to use Frank "Pool Boy" Paradiso's M.O. to frame him and tie up loose ends.

It's very clever.

[CHLOE] Drop the g*n, Reynolds.

Step away.

You don't understand. I'm not the bad guy here.

I've watched all these criminals for years, living happy lives, being rewarded for the terrible things that they did.

Lenore's done nothing wrong.

Let her go. Oh, hasn't she?

She forgave him.

Even when he was exactly the same monster he'd always been.

You saw what he did to the-the guy at the-the farmers market.

They never change.

So, maybe he slipped up. We all do sometimes.

But at least he was trying to make a better life for himself.

And you stole it.

You, you step back.

Lucifer, don't.

It's not your job to punish, Marshal Reynolds.

It's mine.

[g*nsh*t] [Lucifer yells]

[gasps]

[CHLOE] Don't let him get away.

[engine starts]

Jesus.

Not quite.

[tires screeching, Lucifer grunting]

[laughing]

Come on!

[gasping]

[bellowing]

Reynolds!

[Lucifer sighs, Reynolds grunts]

[panting]

Get out now!

Out.

Hands behind your back.

Lucifer, get...

[grunts, groans]

I'm in a rush. Mind taking him the rest of the way?

Who's this?

What am I, your secretary?

He's a bad guy. Figure it out.

[BEATRICE] Maze.

Trix.

Hey, um...

I've been wanting to talk to you. To tell you that... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for saying those...

I know, dummy.

[chuckles softly]

Wait, you're not, you're not mad at me?

Nah. I couldn't stay mad at you.

Your mom, she...

What?

N-No. Never mind. [chuckles]

[air whooshing softly]

Hello, Dan. [gasps] Whoa.

Dude. [nervous chuckle]

Wow, I'm sorry, man. I, uh...

I must've been in my own head. I thought I was alone.

Where the hell have you been?

I went home for a bit.

And no phones there?

Actually, no.

Oh.

Dan, you're the most human person that I know.

Thanks?

What made you choose to live here?

In Los Angeles?

Uh...

Uh, the food is great.

I love the ocean.

And... I guess I met people.

People I care about.

I think somehow it's become my home now, too.

And it's time that I stop trying to make excuses for wanting to stay and choose to stay.

[chuckles softly]

That's great to hear, man.

She's in Heaven, Dan.

Don't.

I hate it when people say that.

Look at me.

She is.

Trust me.

[gasping]

[sniffles]

[laughs] Somehow, I believe you.

[exhales]

[playing simple melody]

[plays discordant notes]

[winces, groans]

[footsteps approaching]

LUCIFER: [sighs] If you've come for more money, Mr. Saidoutbitch, now is not a good time.

Hey.

[chuckles softly]

[chuckles softly]

I used to... listen to that song on repeat through high school a lot when...

[sighs]

...when I felt lost.

Lucifer, about... what I saw.

LUCIFER: I've had literal eons to come to terms with what you saw.

[breath shudders]

My... my monstrous side. But it's not all that I am. At least, I hope not.

[sighs]

Either way, it's unfair of me to expect you to just... accept it.

I'm honestly not sure when I'll be able to.

[chuckles] If ever.

Lucifer, what I was going to say was... what I saw...

...was my partner.

Really?

Really.

LUCIFER: Well, then, um... problem solved, Detective. Because if you can accept me, then... that really is all that matters.
