PREVIOUSLY ON MAGNUM P.I.:

Thomas!

When we were POWs, Nuzo saved my life.

But I couldn't save his.

No, Nuzo.

Before he was k*lled, he left me with coordinates to a spot six miles offshore.

My guess is those two guys who grabbed Nuzo hired him to salvage something out there and k*lled him to keep it quiet.

Find anything down there?

Yeah. Whoa.

And there's a ton of it.

Went down on a wreck called the Roselita.

This is Arabic.

Were the guys who hired Nuzo ever suspected of stealing gold while stationed in Iraq, yes or no?

Yes.

They were suspected of trying to steal gold from one of S*ddam's strongholds in Tikrit.

They managed to get their gold on a boat to Hawaii.

Those guys do a stretch in prison while their fortune sits at the bottom of the ocean waiting for them.

Sorry we're late.

Big finish coming up.

Wow.

Wow. TC, I had no idea you could sing like that.

I'm impressed.

Mahalo, my sister.

Obviously, you did not hear the harmony.

That was me. That was my part.

I was singing the harmony.

They heard you.

What's that supposed to mean?

It means you should stick to making the sammies.

Okay, all of a sudden, this guy thinks he's Marvin Gaye.

If it makes you feel any better, you look very handsome tonight.

I just love a fella in a uniform.

Yeah, they do scrub up rather well.

Anybody want a Spam and cheese?

Oh, get that away from me.

I've been starving myself for three days to get into this dress.

You guys know there's gonna be food at this event tonight.

Yeah, but we were hungry.

Although I am starting to think that making these sandwiches was a bad idea.

I put on a few LBs since the last time I wore this uniform.

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything, but you're right.

Higgins, you got any Spanx?

You cannot be serious.

As a heart att*ck.

Can I borrow some?

Absolutely not. No.

Where is Magnum?

First of all, I can't believe you know what Spanx are.

I'm very disappointed. Secondly, he's at the dry cleaners, picking up his uniform.

And he's not back yet?

Yeah, we really can't wait for him too much longer.

She's right. The veterans being honored tonight have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The least we can do is be on time.

Call him again.

I left, like, five messages.

Okay, I'm gonna try him.

You've reached Thomas Magnum Private Investigation.

Voice mail. Please leave a message.

Magnum, it's Higgins.

We're all here waiting for you.

Where are you?

One of you just got a text.

That's me.

Rick Wright.

I been trying to reach you, brah.

Yeah, I didn't have my phone on me. What's up?

Is your friend Magnum there with you?

No, but he should be back any minute.

I wouldn't count on that.

What do you mean? Why?

I got his ride.

What?

Two of my guys spotted it off the 72.

Door open, still running.

That does not make any sense.

Yeah, that's why I'm calling.

Don't touch the car. I'll be right there.

Everything all right?

Orville.

You gonna tell us what's going on?

It's over here.

You try pinging your boy's phone?

Yeah, she's been doing it, like, every 15 minutes.

So far, nothing.

Got his hat, his uniform.

His g*n's missing.

Guys, we got blood here.

Something's happened to Magnum.

Something bad.

It's gonna be all right, Kumu.

I didn't say anything.

I-I just... I mean Thomas is gonna be okay.

I know it.

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself.

Hey.

Got CSU processing the Ferrari.

They're gonna fast-track the lab work.

In the meantime, we need to look for anyone who may have had a motive to grab Magnum.

He's a P.I. He has a long list of enemies.

TC is right. Do you know how many cheating husbands Thomas has caught?

I'll start digging into his cases right away.

I'm also gonna need his laptop.

Magnum doesn't have a laptop.

He just steals mine every time he needs to use one.

You're welcome to take a look.

Thanks.

We should reach out to Captain Greene.

Maybe this is connected to an old mission, somebody wanting payback for something we did back in the day.

Yeah. Maybe.

Hey.

We lost Nuzo.

We're not gonna lose Thomas.

Wherever he is, whatever it takes, we're gonna find our boy.

Nothing. No trace.

I know. We are, too.

Yeah, Thomas Magnum.

Handsome dude in the Ferrari.

Yeah, well, put the word out to your boys.

Wait, wait, wait, wait. What do you mean there's no other view?

How is that possible?

All right, just call me back if you get anything else.

Yeah, anything recent.

Online, ATM, anything. Doesn't matter.

All right, uh, that was KATSUMOTO.

He says that the traffic light near where the Ferrari was found was down for repairs last week, so it didn't record anything.

Great. Okay, thanks.

I've just spoken to Thomas's bank.

There have been absolutely no withdrawals in the last 12 hours whatsoever.

So that leads me to think that it's possible this wasn't about money. Let me stop you right there.

This is definitely not about money, because Thomas doesn't have any.

Yes, I know that.

But he was driving a $350,000 car, which means that someone might assume that he's a man of substantial means.

I mean, it's that or... Or what?

Or it's possible that whoever took him knows of his relationship with Robin Masters.

And if that's the case, they would also know that Robin Masters has very deep pockets.

If this is a kidnapping, we could get a ransom call.

What's that look for?

Nothing.

Don't "nothing" me.

If you got something on your mind, share it.

If this is about leveraging Robin Masters, Thomas won't let that happen. Why not?

Because he's a stubborn son of a bitch, and his pride won't let him do it.

I believe that to be true.

He'd rather die than get help?

No, look, when Robin Masters first offered him the guesthouse and the Ferrari, it was with no strings attached.

Thomas wouldn't go for that.

He had to work for it.

So Robin made him the security consultant.

Tit for tat.

Yeah, trust me, if this is a money grab, they got the wrong guy.

Thomas will not cooperate.

And if that's the case, Magnum is as good as dead.

We're coming up on it.

Thanks.

Starting to feel a little seasick, and vomiting with tape over your mouth would not have been fun.

We're gonna be there in a minute.

These coordinates better be right.

Coordinates are right.

Like I told you earlier, there's no more gold down there.

Guys who k*lled my friend took it all.

Now they're dead, and it's sitting in an evidence warehouse.

Actually, that's where you're wrong.

The gold those two former Marines brought up didn't match the amount they took out of Iraq all those years ago.

There's more of it.

A lot more.

And you think it's down there in that wreck.

I think those two boys just didn't know where to look.

Okay. Some kind of secret hold, huh?

How much gold are we talking about?

Ask another question and this goes back on.

I don't know, man. It took a lot of whiskers off.

I don't think it'll hold.

We're here.

Hold up your hands.

Don't even think about trying something.

I wouldn't dream of it.

Now try that again.

Without the sass.

Be a good boy and do what I'm told.

Smart man.

Suit up.

Going for a swim?

That's right.

You're gonna help us extract the gold.

What if I say no?

Friend, you're getting into the water with or without a b*llet.

It's your choice.

Okay.

Makes my decision a little easier.

Hello?

Rick, it's me. Thomas.

Yeah. He okay?

Hang on, hang on, hang on.

Hey, uh, everyone's here. You okay? Yeah, I'm fine.

You scared me, man. All of us.

Where are you?

Pier 21. Just get over here, I'll explain everything.

I was on my way home when two guys grabbed me and forced me to take them to the Roselita.

The old shipwreck where Nuzo found the gold?

Yeah. Turns out there's more gold on it.

A lot more. Where?

It was hidden in the ballast.

In a secret hold.

After we started salvaging the gold, I made my move.

Tried to escape, but they wouldn't have it.

I was able to take out one guy, but the second one got away.

By the time I surfaced, he had already taken off on the boat that we went out on.

I treaded water for about an hour before these... nice fishermen grabbed me.

Magnum. Hey, Doc.

Thanks for coming. Gosh, are you okay?

Do you need me to take a look at that?

I'm fine. Body's in the cooler.

Body?

Need you to run his prints right away, see if you can I.D. him.

You brought him back with you?

It was the only way to get an I.D.

Okay, listen, someone's gonna have to go out there and get that gold in case the partner comes back.

All right. I can call Lara.

She can have the crew out there in an hour to salvage it.

Perfect. I want you guys to go with, and... make sure you're armed.

How's it going, Doc? What do you got?

Uh, your friend here, his name is Nathan Brackett.

Prints were in AFIS.

He's wanted by the FBI, but all other information has been redacted.

Redacted?

Okay, now, that's weird.

Why would the Feds redact information on someone they were trying to capture?

Sorry, I can't help you there.

Okay. Katsumoto's on his way over here.

I'm gonna have to give him a statement, then hear his inevitable speech about how I'm supposed to stand down.

After that...

I'm going after Brackett's partner.

How? You don't even have the guy's name.

No, but...

I got an old friend who might be able to help.

Mac. Thanks for coming.

Of course. Greene know you're here?

Greene would have me court-martialed if he knew I was talking to you.

I assume this Mr. Greene is another member of the Thomas Magnum fan club?

Captain Greene.

He was my C.O.

Juliet Higgins. Former MI6 from across the pond.

This is Mac... Ah. Lieutenant MacReynolds.

Call me Josie. Nice to meet you, Josie.

So... what do you got?

Did a deep dive on your pal Brackett.

He was a government contractor at the DoD, until the Feds caught him spying for the Chinese.

They tried to arrest him five years ago, but he fled the country.

What about his partner? Anything on him?

His name's Kyle Foley.

Used to be a CIA case officer, until he was cut loose for reasons the Agency refuses to share.

Yeah. That's the other guy that kidnapped me. But... file's a little thin.

Anything else to go on?

Foley and Brackett both had a connection to Hannah.

What sort of connection?

After Hannah broke bad, became a fugitive, she recruited Foley and Brackett to work for her.

So a traitor CIA washout went into business with a wanted CIA officer?

Using everything they learned from Uncle Sam.

What's the latest Intel you have on them?

The three of them were spotted in Morocco together four months ago.

But by the time the CIA could move in, they were gone.

We think Foley and Brackett split off from Hannah sometime after that.

I'm guessing they figured Hannah was too big a target and they'd be better off on their own.

Any idea how Foley and Brackett found out about the gold?

No.

Perhaps they have some connection to the man who k*lled Nuzo.

If they did, I couldn't find it.

You think you'll be able to track down Foley?

We're gonna try.

Honestly, he could be the best chance you'll ever have at finding Hannah.

If anyone's likely to know her whereabouts, it's him.

Yeah.

Thanks for the help.

Course. I'll see myself out.

Bye.

Good luck.

Thanks, Mac.

So...

I'm guessing... this Hannah is the woman you were going to marry?

Lara told me there was someone, but that's all she told me.

Hannah was a CIA case officer.

She was embedded with me and the guys in Afghanistan.

She would use her assets and analysis to locate high-value targets that we'd then go after.

And things got personal between you.

But how did she end up a fugitive?

Doesn't matter.

What matters is trying to track down Foley.

You think you can find the boat they took me out on?

Sure.

Thanks.

You okay?

Yeah, I'm fine.

This is gonna hurt.

Did you just take a picture of me?

Way better than when you're awake.

Funny.

How about some coffee? Mm, yes, I would love one of those dark roasts from Milly's that you're always raving about. Oh, Milly's.

That sounds good. Mm-hmm. And a big stack of pancakes.

And then I want to see the place you used to go to with your dad.

Luray Caverns. Yeah.

Yeah? I want to see it.

Okay.

Yeah.

Yeah. Yo. You got any Dramamine?

Look, I know I was Marines. Don't judge, okay?

What?

I just spoke with Thomas.

We got an I.D. on Brackett's partner.

Guy named Kyle Foley, ex-CIA recruit.

Ready for the kicker?

He's got a connection to Hannah.

Our Hannah?

Same one.

Aw, man.

How's Thomas?

He says he's doing okay, but I can only guess it's bringing up some bad things for him.

Man, I figured she was dead.

I guess that was just me trying to put everything in the rearview.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

You know, part of me wants to run into Foley out there just to get him to lead us to Hannah.

They say forgiveness is the best form of revenge.

But in this case, the only payback is that woman rotting in jail for the rest of her life.

I'm on hold. With who?

The FCC.

I'm trying to get the Marine Mobile Service I.D. number of the boat you were on.

If I can get that, I can use it to pinpoint the exact location of the vessel.

You know I was in the Navy, right?

You don't have to tell me...

Oh. And he's back.

What is that supposed to mean?

It means it would appear that your gloomy little jaunt down memory lane is over.

You are all heart, aren't you?

Anyway, I looped in KATSUMOTO.

HPD's got an alert out on Foley.

Plus, he's gonna meet Rick and TC when they get back with the gold.

Y... You know they're not just gonna give you the number, right?

Correct. Which is why I spoofed my phone number, so that it would appear this call is coming from inside Her Majesty's Coast Guard.

Right now there is a lovely chap from the FCC scurrying to his back files to get me what I need.

They're not gonna fall for that.

Oh, oh, they will.

The British accent works like a charm.

I don't know why. There have been countless tests that prove that people trust those with a British accent more than any other. Well, that's a mistake.

They probably have you on hold so they can trace your call and report you to Langley.

Oh. Jolly good.

Yes.

Oh, thank you.

Thank you.

No, no, no, no, no.

Don't worry about the hold.

Cheers.

You're welcome.

You know, if you want to ask about Hannah, just go ahead.

I was merely admiring the ocean.

Honestly, I'm fine.

In that case...

I am rather curious.

Well, I just... didn't expect to fall for her the way I did.

One never does.

I was gonna propose.

Everything was set.

And then...

What?

Got sidetracked.

It should have never happened.

We were on an op doing recon on a possible target in the Hindu Kush, and... we got captured during exfil.

For me the worst part about being held was fearing that I'd never see Hannah again.

I couldn't believe it. I figured she'd come to negotiate our release, but... that wasn't why she was there.

Hannah!

Hannah! Hannah!

Hannah!

We thought it was just... dumb luck that we were captured, but in that moment I realized... it wasn't.

Hannah was one of very few people who knew the details of the mission.

Where we would be.

You think she gave you up?

Yeah.

Why would she do that?

I've been asking myself that same question since the day she drove away.

According to the boat's GPS, it should be here somewhere.

Don't worry. I'll know it when I see it.

That's it.

Blood.

Higgins.

I'm not blind, Magnum.

He's dead.

When I stabbed him, I had no idea I'd be k*lling our only lead.

Hang on.

It's a b*llet wound.

You didn't k*ll him. Someone else did.

How long?

Rigor hadn't set in yet.

I-It couldn't have been more than a couple hours.

And you know this because you touched the body, is that right?

I was careful. I didn't leave any prints.

Good. I'll get officers and CSU over there right away.

You'll keep us in the loop?

Yeah.

How'd it go?

Take a look.

How much is that? A lot.

Based on the price of gold today, I'm guessing $60, $70 million worth.

A lot.

Let's get this into evidence.

Do we have to?

I think it was her.

What?

I think Hannah's the one who k*lled Foley, which means she's on the island.

What makes you believe that?

Hannah was part of the team that interrogated S*ddam's banker.

He could have told her about the gold.

And in this job, I've learned to trust my gut, and right now my gut is telling me that she's involved in this.

Hey, Mac.

What do you got?

You find Foley?

Sort of.

What do you mean, "sort of"?

Found his body.

He's dead? Yeah, sh*t point-blank.

I'm not happy about losing our lead suspect, but I'm not gonna cry over somebody who wanted to k*ll me.

I don't think Foley wanted to k*ll you.

Why not? I did some more digging.

The CIA kept a tight lid on it, but Foley was one of the good guys.

The Agency cut him loose and made it look like he'd been b*rned so he could go undercover.

He wasn't working with Hannah and Brackett.

He was trying to take them down.

Okay. Thanks.

Magnum.

Yeah? Be careful.

Always.

I'm sorry, did I miss the part where she said that Hannah was on the island?

And also, in case no one ever taught you, it's incredibly impolite to say "I told you so."

I didn't say that.

Your face did. Also, assuming that you are correct, which I will not yet stipulate to, what, pray tell, would have been Hannah's motive for k*lling Foley?

I mean, you think she discovered that he was working undercover, or...?

That, or she suddenly thought he became a liability.

You know, given his injuries, she figured he might talk.

Okay.

Admittedly, that is a viable theory.

You're outgunned, partner.

Yeah. But you won't know how it ends, 'cause I'm gonna sh**t you first.

Always the hero.

Don't resist, Thomas.

You'll both get out of here alive.

Hannah, I presume?

You must be Juliet Higgins.

The only woman to ever infiltrate the Russian secret police.

That was on behalf of Her Majesty.

Yes. You're former MI6.

That makes you a thr*at.

So if you don't mind, Thomas and I are gonna catch up.

Alone.

Give me the g*n.

What are you gonna do, sh**t me?

Only if I have to.

I just want to talk.

That's good.

Because, as you can imagine, I have some questions.

You want to know why.

Yeah.

Me, Rick, Nuzo, TC.

You betrayed us.

You betrayed me.

For what?

That's complicated.

That's not an answer. That's all you're gonna get.

Was it money?

Is that what you got for giving us up?

It doesn't matter.

It does to me.

No. What matters right now is that I'm trying to keep you safe.

That's why I'm asking you to back off.

Back off?

I know where the gold is, and I'm going after it.

Nuzo was k*lled because of that gold.

I know. I had nothing to do with that.

I know you don't believe me, Thomas, but it's the truth.

Just remember, I asked you nicely to stand down.

Goodbye.

We're just gonna let them go?

Car won't start. They took the key.

Pop the boot. I keep a spare in the tool roll.

This doesn't make sense.

If she didn't want us to stop her, why didn't she just put a b*llet in each of us?

It does if she still loves you.

Thomas, where you been? We tried to call you.

Guys, listen, the gold... is it secure?

Yeah, KATSUMOTO and HPD took possession.

We're following them to the evidence locker right now.

Where are you?

Coming out of the H-3 tunnel. Why?

Okay, you need to watch out. For what?

Hannah. She's here.

She's on the island.

She's after the gold.

Whoa!

Rick? TC?

Hang on.

Put your g*ns down!

No one needs to get hurt!

Excuse me. Excuse me.

Do you have another backup?

Sorry. What am I supposed to do?

Duck.

I'm okay, I'm okay.

Stay down. It hit the vest.

Magnum, get back here, you dumb son of a bitch!

Don't you mean "brave son of a bitch"?

Yeah, I got it.

Just make sure you hold up your end of the deal.

Pull over.

You're not gonna sh**t me.

Don't bet on it.

I'm not gonna tell you again. Pull over.

What are you doing?

Stop the truck.

Hannah, stop the truck!

Thomas!

Rick, call an ambulance!

You're okay. Yeah.

You okay?

Hang in there, buddy.

There he is. Hey.

Hello, Magnum. How are you feeling, Thomas? I knew you'd make it.

Banged up but...

I'm okay.

What about Hannah?

Any word? There's an alert out.

And we've got eyes on the airports and harbors.

What about her guys? Did they say anything?

Well, the ones who are still alive say they don't know where she could be.

Yeah, it's a good thing she didn't get away with the gold.

With that much money, she could disappear forever.

Yeah, well, she still got away.

Yeah, well, she's worse off now than ever.

She's on the run with no money, no resources.

And her most trusted assets are either dead or in custody.

TC's right, Magnum.

It's only a matter of time before Hannah's caught.

I'm sorry, I know you all just got here, but Mr. Magnum really needs to rest.

Yeah, we'll be outside, buddy.

Feel better, Thomas.

Thanks.

Hey, KATSUMOTO.

I know you were just doing your job, but... thank you.

Just get well, okay?

I'm sorry, would you mind just giving us one minute?

Sure. Thank you.

Oh, man. I need some coffee.

What?

I didn't say anything.

I know when you go quiet, something's up.

You saying I talk too much?

Don't answer that.

I'm worried about him.

Doctor said he'll be fine.

Would you be?

No.

He loved her.

Hell, we all did.

Bunch of dummies.

Maybe she had a reason.

Yeah, she did.

Greed.

I know one thing.

Everybody gets what's coming to 'em, good and bad.

Hannah's gonna get the second one, right?

Hell yeah.

Do you think he still loves her?

Hell yeah.

You okay?

What does the machine say?

That's not what I meant.

I'm fine.

Today you were sh*t by the woman who you were once going to marry, Magnum.

Psychologists retire on patients like you.

Yeah, well, I don't need a shrink.

I just need an Old Düsseldorf and a paddle, and I'll be good.

Careful, Magnum, or you'll drown in machismo.

I'm fine.

I promise.

You know that when Robin Masters first told me that you were coming to stay at the guesthouse, he also gave me a heads-up about you.

He said, "Handle with care."

And, I mean, I didn't know what he meant at the time, but...

I guess, after today, I-I kind of do.

I could have been... a little warmer, more welcoming towards you.

But when you arrived, honestly, all I saw was a freeloading charlatan with nothing but a baseball cap, a couple of T-shirts, and a cocky grin.

Mm.

I'm just saying, I should have listened to Robin and... treated you a bit differently.

I don't know, been a bit... nicer.

I would have hated that.

You preferred me being humorless and aloof?

I prefer you being you.

I already had someone in my life who wasn't who I thought she was.

I needed honesty.

I didn't need... sympathy.

So, thank you for just... being yourself.

Well, in that case, you're welcome.

Okay, I'm gonna leave you to... heal.

'Kay.

Hey, Higgy.

Had you known everything you found out about me today, would you really have treated me any differently?

Probably not.

Get some rest, Thomas.

You, too, Juliet.
