We were never supposed
to travel in time...


just location.

But why now?

The machine must have selected

a random year of its data history

and then defaulted to
its first successful splinter.

Give or take a few months.

That is our machine
in there... a working machine.

Not ours... theirs.

That place is no longer our home.

It's a minefield.
Paradoxes, causality...

everything we fought to avoid.

The greatest danger
in there is ourselves.

But it's a chance.

At best, we'd have one opportunity

with no way back
and nothing to use it for.

- [zipper whines]
- We find Olivia.

[paper rustling]

After Mr. Ramse brought
Olivia into the Facility,

Dr. Adler and I tried to piece together

what we could about her.

[purposeful music]

her message, and indeed,


her sacrifice may be done...

[gas hissing]

- But her work is not.


[machine beeping]

the course of one life to end another...

not a monster, not a god.
