So I thought that maybe we'd start by just taking him for a walk, on foot, in the field.

He can get used to his surroundings and you can start to build a connection with him.

I'm pretty sure Mickey will just form a connection with whoever feeds him.

They were repairs, not renovations.

Unfortunately, repair or renovation of any sort comes under scrutiny when they're paid for out of public funds.

If you'd asked my opinion, I'd have recommended moving to a different office until maintenance could deal with it.

Their budget is already established and wouldn't have required expenditure of new funds.

Actually, there is something I've been meaning to bring up, in regards to the Fall Harvest Festival barbecue.

I noticed you instructed the planning committee to rethink their beef supplier.

Oh, I didn't instruct.

I just suggested that my family could provide Heartland beef at cost.

We could save the town hundreds of dollars, and besides, the beef at the barbecue is always terrible.

You're absolutely right, but it would be better if the new supplier wasn't directly related to you.

I mean, at best it could be seen as nepotism, at worst, lining the pockets of your family business with public funds.

This is ridiculous.

I would be saving the town money.

I knew I was supposed to feel grateful to be so far away from the w*r back home in Syria, but all I could think of was my friends and family I was forced to leave behind.

I didn't know anyone, and my mom was working all the time, so I was alone a lot.

The owners of New Day, they were regulars at the restaurant my mom worked at.

They invited me to check out their stable.

The first time I heard of equine therapy I thought it was crazy.

(CHUCKLES)

So what made you change your mind?

I guess it was the small things: grooming him, cleaning out his stall, learning to put on his saddle.

It's hard to explain, but I felt he needed me, and that helped.

But the truth is, I needed him more.

for giving me the chance to say one last goodbye.

I'm really glad Mickey and Ibrahim had that chance.

Welcome everyone to the annual Hudson Fall Harvest Festival.

You know, we throw this party every fall to celebrate our incredible community.

And I'm reminded today that an important part of that community is our young people.

I applaud you for showing up today and fighting for what you believe in.

And that's why I have decided to make a personal donation to the Canadian Bee Research Fund, and I encourage everyone else here to do the same. I am also going to be forming a committee to look into ending the future use of bee-harming pesticides.
