It's okay, it's okay.

It's over.

George, sh*ts fired by the police.

You guys okay?

- Yeah, Sarge.

- Yeah.

Mom and daughter?

Uh, they're in shock but they're all right.

You did good, you saved two lives.

All right, what happened?

How'd it go down?

I got a lead on the house.

Called Jay.

We arrived at the residence, looked empty, so we got out of the car to get a closer look.

You go inside?

No, we didn't have a warrant.

When we got out of the car, RJ pulled up.

We exchanged sh*ts, he got back in his car, we gave chase, that's how we ended up here.

Office involved sh**ting in today's climate, eyes are gonna be all over this.

So, if there's anything else...

I need to know.

It was by the book, Sarge.

Okay.

All right, get some rest.

Jay.

You don't have to cover for me.

I didn't force you to go inside.

What was I going to do?

I was gonna sit there?

While you go inside by yourself?

You jammed me up.

That's not okay.

Something up, Hailey?

Yeah, scene's done being processed.

I don't want to mess up the best job I've ever had.

This is the most steady thing I've had in my life the last four years.

This job is intense, and unpredictable.

That's what I love about it.

That's what makes me feel...

Safe?

Yeah.

Is that crazy?

Possibly, but that's what makes you good at your job.

Maybe, um...

Maybe what?

Maybe I need a new partner.

You and Jay are a good team, I'm not splitting that up.

I'll see you tomorrow.

Yeah, all right.

Hailey.

Just...

just be careful.

I know you like to do things your own way.

What does that mean?

Means I know you.

We need Jay just the way he is.
