[FEMALE REPORTER] You're

from the Los Angeles Police Commission

where Pete Demetriou is reporting.

[DEMETRIOU] That's right.

With short notice to
the media and public,

the police commission is meeting
in special session this morning

to consider a measure that would give

Chief Irvin Irving a second term.

With more than a year still
to go in his first term,

this morning's vote could mean

another five-year term for the chief

or a vote of no confidence
and an early exit.

The measure passes.

Congratulations, Chief.

Thank you.

I look forward to continuing
my service to this great city

that will lead to more

and better community relations.

And with that,

[FEMALE REPORTER] Thank you for that.

Let's go back to Pete
Demetriou in Downtown L.A.

with breaking news.

[DEMETRIOU] The L.A. Police Commission

has voted Chief Irvin Irving
a second five-year term.

Former Deputy Chief Nestor Delgado

cast the deciding
vote in Irving's favor.

Live in Downtown L.A.,

Pete Demetriou, KNX News Radio.

Irving just got re-upped.

I don't even know what that means.

Police commission.

They just gave him another five years.

What the f*ck?
