As you know, growing up,
we had no role models.

No one who loved like us on TV.

Except for Jo from

But the longer I work
here, the more I realize

that we're standing on the shoulders

of some incredible people.

For sure.

are part of the quiet rebellion.

People who fought for our rights,

but in their own way.

Teachers, nurses, doctors.

It's a documentary-style
segment on everyday

unsung q*eer heroes.

My ninth grade English

the person who changed my life.

I quit.

I worked as a tutor.

I taught night classes.

I lost my pension, though.

I couldn't put her under my insurance.

She had to pay for it
out of her own pocket.

It was worth it, though.
