When I first started writing this book,

I wanted to talk about myself,

- like usual.

friends and...

collaborators who really
pushed me to go deeper.

It was scary. I didn't want to.

But I thought to myself,
"Well, if I tell my truth...

maybe I could help someone
out there not feel...

so lonely in the world."

Because, as you'll read,

crazy or stupid to say...

- or do... I have done it.

But I'm still here.

I'd like to read from my
favorite chapter in the book,

titled "Dana."

"'You Are My Sunshine'

is, without doubt,

the most... annoying song ever written."

"But Dana loved it.

And as much as I hate to admit it,

those grating lyrics
rang more and more true

as I fell for her."

"She was my sunshine.

SLIGHT HITCH: um, she was
also someone else's sunshine.

loved her for the first time

at her engagement party...

to that someone else.

My timing was bad."

would continue to work against
us in our relationship."

I made her hospital room my home."
