and even though the world
above has gone to hell,

that's not all that bad.

We kind of see the two
of them creating this bond

where they're growing close together,

where they're actually with family,

the family neither one of them,

I think, ever thought they would have.

Ultimately, this experience

where John tries to go above ground

when June wants to stay below ground

leads to the reveal from June

that she was actually lying
about how long they needed

to stay in the bunker before
it was safe to go above ground.

Is it really as dangerous as you said?

That reveal forces June

to admit that it's actually rooted

in kind of a deep-seated fear she has...

Dorie Sr. kind of once again
choosing the investigation

over his own family.

He's ready to leave June behind,
who's in some real danger

because she's pinned beneath
a collapsed beam in this bunker.

He's going above ground

because he thinks he can
solve the crime once more.

- You have to find me.
- Why are you confusing me?

You're not real.

So how do you know they are?

June's real. I can't leave her.

CHAMBLISS: After John Dorie
Sr. makes the right decision

and he returns to the bunker

and does it with just
enough time to save June

from the stalker who's infiltrated,

they actually end up finding

that Cindy Hawkins was buried
in the walls of the bunker,

that Teddy must have not had enough time

to put her body anywhere else.

And ultimately, Dorie Sr.

is able to kind of fulfill the promise

that he made to Cindy Hawkins'
mother all those years ago.

I think he realizes

that it's never too late
to forgive himself,

that it's never too late
to put his past behind him

and embrace the present

instead of kind of dwelling in the past.

I'll help you see which way is up, then.

'Cause I think I see it again.

It's that lesson that he's
gonna exit this bunker with.

The difference in June
and Dorie Sr.'s reactions

to living in Strand's tower

really are kind of a
function of the fact

that she's had some time to accept

that this may be the only way
they're gonna be able to live.

Well, good morning.

Victor.

Dorie Sr. is waking up into this

and is kind of discovering the fact

that they are now forced
to live with the man

who he saw do some
pretty terrible things.

I'm done listening to you, Morgan.

I'm going to do what you couldn't.

I'm going to rebuild the world.

I'm going to help everyone
that you let down.

Strand is really enjoying the
fact that he is the leader now

and Morgan's on the outs.

I think in many ways it really speaks to

Strand's need to kind of be recognized,

and that's a big part of
what his journey's gonna be

as we continue to go
forward in the season.

I will come for you, Victor.

Bring it.

It really is kind of setting
up this antagonism

between these two characters

as we continue to go
deeper into the season,

and I think it creates a question of,

"Whose side is everyone gonna fall onto

as the conflict continues?"
