This is bad.

Something just hurt me.

I gotta get out of here,
I gotta get out of here.

We are being
physically att*cked.

I had a shadow figure
hold me down in bed.

There's some kind
of demonic thing.

I don't know if
it's a demon or not,

but it sure as hell
looks like one.

- Is she possessed?
- Yeah.

My God.

These evil little things
are in here.

Panic, panic, panic.

My name is Amy Allan.

I'm seeing, like, blood.

The house just feels bad.

I see dead people.

This man
is completely insane.

I speak to dead people...

Whoo. Okay.
She doesn't like it in there.

...and they speak to me.

He likes to twist that Kn*fe.

But there's only one way to know
if my findings are real.

Something paranormal
is trying to k*ll them.

I rely on my partner.

I'm Steve Di Schiavi.

I'm a retired New York City
homicide detective.

Now does he die right there,
on the spot?

I know every person,
every house has secrets.

I think it's trying
to steal my soul.

It's my job to reveal them.

You ever get touched
like that again?

But Steve and I never speak...

We never communicate
during an investigation.

...until the very end.

I'm as stunned as you guys are.

When we uncover if
it's safe for you to stay...

I don't want anything
to happen to my daughter.

Or time to get out.

His goal
is to k*ll you guys.

I'm in Mahwah, New Jersey.

It's a suburb about 45 minutes
northwest of New York City.

I got a call from a mother
named Jen. Sounded really bad.

She says something in her house

is attacking her
and her four kids.

And if Amy and I can't help,

somebody's gonna
get seriously hurt.

Before Amy arrives,
I sweep the house

for any leading information.

Family photographs
and religious symbols

can influence her findings,

so it's important I cover
or remove them all.

When I'm done,

the location will be ready
for tonight's walk.

This place is not good.

I'm just getting feelings
in here, like, emotions.

Unsettled, nervous,
worried, stress.

Like, I'm hearing like,
"Get away from me.

Like, "get away, get away,
get away."

This is really bad. I wanna
run away. I don't like this.

Well, Jen,
I'm glad I'm here,

'cause when we spoke
on the phone,

you sounded pretty upset.
The hell's going on here?

I feel like
I'm living in hell.

The activity is
aggressive in this house,

and it's going after
me and my kids.

Afraid, you know, something's
gonna happen to one of us.

And I can't do that as a mother.
I need your help.

Well, that's why
I'm here, honey.
I know.

So, Jen, who exactly
lives in the house?

My husband Gary
and my four kids.

This is Joe. He's 15.

These are my twins,
Ryan and Michael. They're 13.

Okay.

And this is my daughter
Samantha, and she's 6.

Jen, do me a favor.
Give me a -- gimme a list

of what you guys
are experiencing here.

Hearing disembodied voices.

There's been
a lot of shadow figures.

Objects moving on their own.

The health of the family
is declining.

We are being
physically att*cked.

Okay. So now, Jen, is everybody
being affected by this?

Yeah, but Joseph is getting
the brunt of it.

- In what way?
- He's lashing out.

He's doing things that are not
in character for him.

It's not
normal teenage stuff.

Well, what do you think
is here, honey?

I believe there's some kind
of hold or possession on him.

What do you think it wants?

I'm afraid it wants
to k*ll him.

You got a lot on your shoulders
as a mom to begin with.

How are dealing with
all this other stuff?

I have horrible anxiety.

And I just can't
protect my kids.

Samantha's only 6.

And she --
she's a baby still.

I don't wanna live
like this anymore.

I'm seeing a male out here.

And this person
is, like, confused

and, like, scared,
pacing or running.

The dude from outside
comes in here.

And he's running
and he's running.

Boom, and then he's in here.

Also, he makes the living
feel anxious

and it almost makes you
wanna throw up.

Just utter despair.

And your stomach drops out
and you wanna vomit.

Definitely getting the chills
with him.

He affects electrical stuff.

He has too much energy.

How would the living
perceive this?

People do see
a dark shadow moving by.

He's just a shadow person
down here.

Okay, Jen, so what's
going on in this room?

Constantly,
we see shadow figures

coming down the stairs.

I could be in bed and see them
from my bedroom, too.

So is this the only spot that
you see the shadow figures?

No, I see them
all over the house.

I see shadow figures
outside behind the fence.

This one is completely tall.

It's like he has got,
like, an overcoat on.

I think that this guy
is no good.

Okay.
Anything else strange happen?

On top of the stairs,
all the sudden,

I felt a hand on my back
and I got pushed,

and, like, it was gonna, like,
throw me down the stairs.

So how hard did you get pushed?
Just gimme an idea.

I mean, like this.

Okay, you're getting shoved,
and you have a 6-year-old.

Who's to say that
can't happen to her?

That's my concern.
He wants to hurt us.

This guy's energy
is so bad.

Like, I don't even wanna
go down the stairs right now

'cause little...
a little loopy.

I'm not feeling very well
right now.

I think that dude from outside
is making me feel sick.

I feel drained.

I feel nauseous.

I feel very dizzy.

I would be worried about
the living accidentally falling.

He is doing things

because he's angry.

Any idea what kind of affect
he might have on the living?

I think that
they would feel a drain.

I think they would feel, like,
sudden exhaustion.

I think that
they feel uncomfortable.

I think, panicked.

So what's going on in here?

I think whatever is in this
house is draining my energy.

- Okay.
- I can't sleep at night.

And then I can't wake up
in the morning.

All right, anything else
like that?

My health is declining.
I'm sore.

I get fevers on and off.

Everything in my body,
every muscle, everything.

So what makes you think
this is paranormal?

Medically, they can't
find anything wrong.

All right, anything else?

There's mood changes,
me and my husband.

He seems to be
more of a nasty, mad,

taking out aggression
and things like that.

When I'm here,
I'm not normal either.

You know,
we fight constantly.

Well, I gotta
be honest with you.

I gotta play
devil's advocate here.

- I mean, couples fight.
- It's not normal fights.

We're like soul mates.

We've been through
a lot of things together.

This should not
break us up.

I'm afraid to even ask.
Anything else?

I've been bruised
in the middle of the night.

I wake up with them.
It just makes no sense.

So what kinda bruises
we talking about?

Like three fingerprints?

How do you know your husband's
not rolling over

and banging into you?

Well, he sleeps like a rock,
and there's no way.

So I'm seeing
this older woman,

and she's, like,
hurting living people.

I'm seeing that older woman
trying to strangle somebody.

The living here are absolutely
experiencing a lot of pain.

She d*ed from an infection
or something.

I don't know if somebody
keeps getting, like,

some kind of infections
all the time.

She's, like, cutting people.

I see her putting on nails.

And I see her touching
a baby's belly,

and that makes me nervous.

Why is this woman
doing this?

She wants the living
out of here

because she feels
they brought the evil in.

"Get them out. Get them out."

So, Gary, I was talking
to your wife earlier,

and she was saying that
whatever's in this house

is going after her
and your kids.

I mean, you agree with that?

It definitely appears
that way.

She seems to have had
every paranormal experience

she can have under the sun.

Now what about you?
Have you had anything?

Well, we have
a lot of issues

with our electronics
and electrical systems.

You know, lights turning on
when there's nobody there.

Televisions coming back on

when there's no one there
to turn them on.

Then to have something
just plugged in

just to start smoking and burst
into flames for no reason?

I don't know
how to explain that.

Is there an issue with
the electrical here or...

No, all the electrical
has been upgraded,

from the panel
right to the fixtures.

Okay. Anything else?

One night, I had a shadow figure
come and hold me down in bed.

And what'd you do?

I was kinda, like, frozen,

couldn't say anything,
couldn't do anything

and I just kinda laid there
for a minute or so,

and that I felt it just
lift up the pressure off me

and it left the room.
- Wow.

So now your wife
also mentioned to me

she sees a big change
in your son Joseph.

Yeah, he lashes out
at my wife for no reason.

He physically att*cks my other
children for no reason.

Look, I know
teenagers are jerks.

- Couldn't it just be that?
- No.

I mean, he'll have, like,

a glassy but crazy, you know,
look in his eye,

almost like it's not my son.

He has, like, an evil smile.

I hate to say my son
was possessed,

but, I mean, it almost
gave me that impression.

I mean,
what do you think is here?

I don't know if it's demonic,
but I just want it gone.

I'm feeling a paralysis thing.

Somebody having
that happen to them.

Can't move, can't move.

Boy.

I'm seeing these small
black shadow things.

Do you have any idea yet
what these things are?

I think they're, like,
some kind of demonic thing.

These evil little things
are in here.

They are trying to take over

because the evil is in them.

What going on?

Something just hurt me.

Felt like I got jabbed.

Joe, I was talking to
your mom and dad,

and they think that whatever's
going on in this house

is changing your personality.

Yeah, I would agree
with that.

I get mad at everybody
all the time,

ridiculous little things
that happen.

When I'm out of the house,
I feel like, you know,

nothing bothers me.
But when I'm in here,

someone could just do
something so insignificant,

and I'd just lose it.

All right, so what about
experiences that you've had?

For 15 years,
I've seen shadow figures.

What do they look like
to you?

Some have, like,
oddly shaped heads,

oddly shaped bodies,
tentacle-like arms.

That's a new one.
Anything else going on with you?

Well, I have these
vivid nightmares constantly.

Do me a favor
and describe one for me.

Sometimes I just wake up,

and something's
trying to get me.

All right, so this thing
that's trying to get you

in your dream,
what does it look like?

Can you describe it?

I don't know if
it's a demon or not,

but it sure as hell
looks like one.

Anything else?

I've woken up with
scratches and bruises

on my back and my arms.

Okay, so what are these
scratches like? Are they...

They're not deep,
but they're very visible.

Okay, you're the oldest.

I mean, you got
younger brothers and sisters.

Yeah.
You worried about
your brothers?

I am very worried about them,

and I'm very concerned
about my sister

because of how young she is.

Um...

Sorry. I don't wanna see her
be affected in the future.

Someone here
might be getting influenced.

These things wanna, like,
take over.

Like, it's not, like,
influenced subtly.

No, no, no, it's change.

Like, change.

What do you mean?

I think a personality change.

I think maybe the living
are thinking,

like, this is nightmares.

Is it specifically
the person in this room?

So what do they want
with this kid?

They would like
to take over the kid.

Samantha, how old are you?

- Um, 6.
-6. Okay.

So I was talking
to Mommy today,

and she was telling me
there's some scary things

going on in this house.

Can you tell me about
anything that you've seen

that might have scared you?

I saw, like, shadows
and stuff around the house.

Can you tell me
what those shadow things

looked like to you?

Like, they're, like,
um, on the wall.

They're, like, all black.

And then one of them,
like, leaves.

Like, they disappear.

Okay, anything else
scare you?

I saw a ghost bear.

How big was he?

He was, like,
up to the table.

So he's kinda big.

I, like, heard steps
and then saw a bear

walking, like, tip-toeing,

and then I ran back
to my room.

So you afraid
to be here in the house?

Okay.

I don't like this.

No, no. This is bad.

I don't know why these, like,
demon things are here,

but they are.

They're messing with the kid
in this room, too.

I think these evil things
are hurting people.

I feel like this kids
are, like...

not okay.

- It's upsetting me.
- Okay.

I keep hearing,
"Hurting the baby."

They're being, like, taken over.

The kid's, like,
completely possessed.

So whenever I get to town,

the first call I make
is to the local police chief.

Turns out there was
a horrible m*rder/su1c1de

on Jen's property
back in the 1930s.

I'm heading over now to find out
exactly what happened.

So, Chief, thanks
for meeting with me.

I know my client's property
is literally right here.

And this pond area used to be
part of the property, right?

Back in the 1930s, this pond
and the surrounding areas

was part of
a massive dairy farm.

It was part of the estate.

What can tell me about
the victims in this case?

Well, the first victim
is Bertie Wells.

She was a neighbor

of the people that owned
the property at the time.

On October 5, 1937, she took
her 3-year-old son John

for a walk
around 6:00 at night.

Several hours later,
her husband Edgar comes home.

He finds the house empty.

He knows something's wrong,
so he calls the police.

They start a massive search
of the area.

Several hours into the search,
they saw

the head of Bertie Wells
bobbing in the water

in the middle of the pond.

When they retrieve her,
they find the body of John,

his icy arms
still wrapped, frozen,

in his mother's arms.

Jeez. Now what was
the official cause of death?

These are
the death certificates

showing suffocation
from drowning.

She was only 41. What a shame.

I'm seeing this other woman.

She might be in her 30s or 40s.

It's a white female.
She's face-down.

She's wearing a red dress
and she has blonde hair.

It looks like
she doesn't have any bones.

She's all liquid.

I think she d*ed
somewhere near the property.

This felt recent to me --
the 1920s, the 1930s.

I felt despair, and then I felt
a broken heart and pain.

And then I got "missing"
and I got "lost."

Like, that could be
how she feels.

She was a mother. Like, I keep
seeing her over a baby.

I'm hearing
infant crying and dying.

And the older woman says,
"Not my fault."

So far, I've got a family
being att*cked in their own home

and a horribly m*rder/su1c1de
that took place

right on my client's
original property.

But I gotta see
if there's anything else.

Searching through old records,

I find this Hungarian Count,
who committed su1c1de

right next door
to Jen and Gary's house.

So I got local historian looking
into this strange case for me,

and she says the death
was a combination

of a lost fortune,
mental illness,

and lots of booze.

Well, Amanda, thanks for
helping me out with this case.

This seems like
a really crazy story.

I mean, I've done
over 140 of these cases,

and I've never come across
European royalty.

It is crazy.

So what can you tell me
about this Count?

The Count's name
was Rudolf Palffy.

And the Palffy family
was quite wealthy

in the 1800s
back in Hungary.

Okay.

In 1873, Rudolf's father
declared financial ruin.

Well, he's in despair from
losing all his money,

and he takes a g*n
and sh**t himself.

Really? Okay, so Rudolf's dad
is dead now. What does he do?

Well, Rudolf goes to France
to live with his brother Arthur,

thinking that Arthur
may still have some money

and they can continue to live
a lavish lifestyle in France.

But he arrives
and discovers that

Arthur actually
doesn't have any money.

And in 1889, Arthur follows
in his father's footsteps,

and takes a p*stol
and sh**t and kills himself.

That's crazy.
Okay, so what happens next?

Rudolf ends up marrying
his late brother's girlfriend,

Rosalia Zimmerman...
- Okay.

...who is a commoner
from Switzerland.

And the family in Hungary
does not like this at all.

Any idea why?

Well, he was Catholic
from Hungary.

And with her last name
being Zimmerman,

she was likely Jewish.

So there probably
were religious issues

that caused them
to have more conflict.

How does this kid end up
in Mahwah for all places?

He decides to come to America

and see if he can get
a fresh start.

Okay, so when does
he wind up getting here?

1891. He takes up residency
with his wife in a small cottage

that's not far from
your client's property.

He had $5,000 when he arrived,

which is about $140,000
in today's dollars.

Wow.
But blasts through
all of that in a year.

Okay, so I know this guy
eventually kills himself.

How does he do it?

Well, in 1893, according to
these newspaper articles,

he's out drinking with
the locals in Mahwah,

and he comes home and gets in
a huge argument with his wife.

Then he gives her a kiss,
says, "I love you dearly,

but Switzerland
cannot rule Hungary."

Then he turns
and grabs his p*stol,

puts it to his head and sh**t
and kills himself.

- Okay.
- He's about 32 years of age.

I'm seeing that crazy guy
running around again.

Can you describe him?

I wouldn't put him
older than 30.

I think he was mentally ill.

He's got soot or burns
on his face.

I keep hearing,
"I gotta get outta here.

Gotta get outta here."

He felt trapped.

Just overwhelmed.

He feels confused.
He feels like it's too much.

Okay, so this guy's father
and his brother commit su1c1de.

He winds up coming here,
right near my client's property,

has money issues,
and kills himself as well?

Yes.

What happens with the wife
after he kills himself?

She's distraught.
She's left penniless.

She ends up with nothing.
It's definitely a tragic story.

I'm getting a connection
between the crazy guy

and the nasty old woman.

There's something with them,
friction.

He's afraid of her.

Why are you afraid?

Do you get anything else

on who she was
when she was alive?

She's extremely religious.

A lot of, like, praying.

I saw her living
in a very nice place.

She's from another country.

She said that it took
a long time to get here.

Then it was bad because
her husband d*ed.

Her husband d*ed horrible.

Young, young.

She lost all her money somehow
and now she's mad.

I've already got
multiple suicides

and a m*rder on Jen's property.

But something else
caught my eye in research.

A mom k*lled four of her kids

just down the street
from Jen's house.

I'm going to meet
the local sheriff,

who says it was one of the worst
crimes in Mahwah's history.

So, Sheriff, you mentioned
on the phone

that there was
this quadruple homicide

that happened right near
my client's property.

It involved a couple
that lived in Mahwah.

Kenneth McDonald,
he was 32 years old.

And his wife, Carol McDonald,
she was 29.

She was a stay-at-home mom,
caring for their four children.

There came a point,
early in 1953,

where Kenneth found out that
Carol was cheating on him.

He was devastated,
furious, and at one point

left the household
and filed for divorce.

- Okay.
- When she decides she wants

to retaliate
against the husband.

Okay, so what'd
she wind up doing?

So on May 3, 1953,

she wakes up
her four children,

little after midnight.

These children ranged
from age 2 to 7,

two boys and two girls.

She walked them out into
the garage to the family car,

put them in the car,
turned on the engine,

and then
she came back inside.

All right, so let me
get this straight.

She leaves the four kids
in the car,

and then walks
back into the house.

Yes.
She went in the house

and wrote six separate
su1c1de letters.

As she's taking
two hours to write

these six individual
su1c1de letters,

these poor four children
are in that car,

getting asphyxiated.

There came a point
where she realized,

maybe this isn't
the right thing to do.

She went back into the garage,
but, of course, it was too late.

The four children were dead.

That's actually an article
I found

on the whole story there.

Cops respond to the house,
they arrest her.

She's subsequently charged
with four counts of m*rder.

Here's a picture
of her being arrested

in the police car
with the detective.

Look at that.

After her arrest, she was
transported right to this jail,

right where we're standing.

She tried to commit su1c1de.

So I assume they got
a conviction.

The saddest part
of this whole story

is that she was
deemed to be insane

and never stood trial.

She was sent to
a state psychiatric hospital

where, after three years,
she was released

and never had to pay
for this crime.

- Are you kidding me?
- Wish I was.

Something's happening here.

I'm getting, like, a fight
between two people.

There's two people fighting
in this area.

One is definitely a male.

Fighting, fighting.

It's not good.

I don't like it.

I think, like, something dies.

This is not a good situation.

I'm being shown a bunch of kids.

Something about an att*ck

at night.

It happened inside.

I see absolute horror,

over and over again.

I saw many disturbing
things on my walk,

but two stood out.

First, the old woman
attacking a living child.

She is behind the bed

with her hands on this child's,
like, chest/neck area.

He was, um, being choked.

She had a very unusual face.

She had very dark eyes.

Next, I described
the black shadow things

trying to possess a child
in the upstairs bedroom.

There were about
three or four of them

surrounding the bed,

trying to, like, take over
the child's body.

Amy, is this what you saw?

Yes.

Now that Amy and I have
completed our investigations,

we're ready to reveal
our findings to each other

and our clients
for the first time.

Amy this is Jen
and her husband Gary.

They live here with
their four very sweet kids.

This is Joseph, who's 15.

This is Ryan and Michael,
who are 13-year-old twins,

and Samantha, who's 6.

Now we're sitting here,
so obviously the activity's bad,

but these two say it's so bad,

they don't think it's safe
for anybody to be in this house,

especially Joe.

So now that Amy knows
who you guys are,

I'm going to ask her
to describe her walk for us.

So when I first got here,

I saw a deceased female

who was laying face-down.

I got that she was
in her 30s or her 40s.

She did look a little odd.

To me, it looked like
almost, like, a pool of her

because it didn't seem like
she had any bones.

A lot of pain and despair.

Something about
her being a mother

but she didn't have her kids,
and then somebody

was talking about someone
being lost or missing

so that she had a broken heart,
and I think it's possible

she d*ed somewhere
on the property.

I know you didn't get a lot,
but what you did get

reminds me of a woman
I came across in research.

Now back in the 1930s,
this property was part

of a 500-acre dairy farm.

Now a woman named Bertie Wells
lived on

the property next door
to that farm

with her husband and two sons.

So now on the evening
of October 5, 1937,

Bertie took
her 3-year-old kid, John,

for a walk right to that pond

that's only
around the block here.

She went missing.

Now the cops wind up doing
a town-wide search

for Bertie and the kid.

Within a few hours,

they found both their bodies
in the pond.

From what the cops could gather,

Bertie had walked into the pond
with the boy in her arms,

and drowned them both.

And I got their
death certificates here.

Now the only motive
for this su1c1de

was that Bertie had been
depressed for months

over her declining health.

So I'm just curious
if you think Bertie Wells

could be the woman
you might have seen?

Yeah,
that's a big possibility.

The next person that
I ran into was a male,

and I first
encountered him outside,

and he was running around
like a frickin' maniac.

He's extremely confused
and scared.

He doesn't get
that he's deceased,

which is a big problem.

I think that the living here
would maybe see him

running outside in the yard.

The way that I saw him was
very much as a shadow person,

as a shadow figure.

- Wow.
- I see him in the back.

He just stands there
and watches you.

Yeah.

He, like,
does not stop moving

And he, because of that,

can affect, like,
the electricity in the house

or, like, TVs and stuff
like that, you know?

Gary, tell her what's going on
with the electric.

We leave the house,
everything was off.

We'd come home, the lights
in the attic are on,

there's TVs on, radios on.
I mean, you name it.

Wow. Okay.

You might, when you're
around him,

feel a lot
of emotional swings.

It's just a constant
struggle for me to be --

just to be happy
with anything.

You know, it's changing
my personality.

I can leave work in a great mood
and I'll walk into the house,

and all of a sudden,
I'm just angry at everybody.

He can make you
feel anxious

and dizzy and nauseous
and drained.

My energy is gone.

I can sleep all day and still
feel like I haven't slept.

It's terrible.

She talked about something else
that we didn't hit on,

was the anxiety, being anxious.

The anxiety,
the panic att*cks,

as each month goes by,
it gets worse and worse.

They tried putting me
on meds for it.

Nothing works.

Now all that stuff
they talked about

sounds like
it could be this guy.

Yes, that's that guy.

Get any idea who this guy might
have been when he was alive?

Due to the fact that
he wouldn't stop moving,

I could not really
see him very well,

but I'm thinking
about 30 years of age.

But mentally,
he absolutely seemed like

he was functioning
at a much younger level.

I think that he might have had
some mental illness as well.

Definitely was not in
a good place when he d*ed.

Also, there's
a deceased female who's here,

and there's some kind
of strange connection

between them,
and I'm not sure what.

Well, you know,
I got a pretty good idea

of who this guy might have been,

but I want to wait
until you tell us

about the woman you said
he was connected to.

So she's the most dominant
dead person here.

Got that she was in
her 40s or 50s.

I got that she was
from another country,

but I'm not sure where.

She's extremely religious
person.

Extremely.

Got that she was married,

ended up losing
all her money somehow.

And then
it got worse for her

because then
her husband d*ed,

and apparently,
it was a horrible death.

After he d*ed, that was it.
Boom. Everything went to...

Now I know who
you're talking about.

So in the 1890s,
there was a European couple

that lived in a cottage
right next to this property.

Now this guy was part of
the Hungarian royal family.

His name was Rudolf Palffy.

Now the expert
I talked to told me

that Rudolf and his brother
were pretty immature.

They basically partied
and spent the father's fortune.

The father went bankrupt
in 1873.

Now the father was so ashamed
by what happened,

he sh*t and k*lled himself
a few years later.

Rudolf then went to go live
with his brother, Arthur,

hoping to, you know,
get money off of him,

but he was living in France.

Arthur winds up sh**ting himself
in the head in 1889

and k*lling himself.

After Arthur's su1c1de,
Rudolf married

his dead brother's girlfriend,
Rosalia Zimmerman.

Rudolf's family was pissed
about the marriage

for a couple of reasons.

First, he was royalty,
and she wasn't.

So the other issue
they had with the marriage

was that family was Catholic,
and she was Jewish.

The expert I talked to said
they wanted a fresh start

and they came to America
from France.

When they did come here, though,

he had the equivalent of what
would have been $140,000,

and he went through it
within a year.

In 1893,
Rudolf goes out drinking

with some of the locals in town.

When he gets home, him and
Rosalia got into a huge fight.

The two were arguing
when he stopped, he said,

"I love you dearly,

but Switzerland cannot
rule Hungary,"

pulls out a p*stol
and blows his brains out.

And he did it
right in front of her.

Now you said he was about 30?

He was 32 when he d*ed.

So do you think
this is who you saw?

Yes.

Now you said the dead woman,
his wife, was dominant.

Yeah. She's just bad news.

She's extremely protective
of this house and the land.

She's extremely angry
at the living here,

and one of the things
I saw her doing

was sharpening her fingernails
and scratching living people.

Jen, the scratches,
you and Joseph.

Scratches, bruises,
both me and the 15-year-old.

They seem to come up
in the middle of the night

or just show up out of nowhere.
- Interesting.

The other thing was
that she had d*ed from

some kind of infections,
and now when

she's around living people,
she can make you feel like that.

And I was concerned
about people here

developing random illnesses.

They say I have, like,
reversed immune system,

and they gave me
antibiotics.

I have to take, like,
three, four rounds of it

before anything works.
- Every time she gets a cold,

it almost always
turns into pneumonia.

Now could all of this be
this woman?

Yes.

I saw her in the blue
bedroom upstairs.

That's Joseph's room, right?

I did have a sketch done.

Ooh.

Okay.

Believe me now?

What is she doing to him?

Strangling him.

- I know it's tough to look at.
- Yeah, I-I can't.

Here, we'll just turn it over.

I hate to even ask
what else.

There's something here that
has me much more concerned.

- More than this?
- Yeah.

There were these entities
that I saw during my walk.

They looked like
small shadow figures

or small -- They almost
looked like ghosts.

Like if somebody had a child,

dropped a black sheet
on the child...

I've seen them everywhere
around, through the house.

Little kid
with like, you know,

just like you're putting,
like, a blanket over him.

They do make people sick.

When I came into contact
with them upstairs

in the blue room,
I felt like the person,

the living person in there,

would have bouts of
severe nausea

if not vomiting.

So have you guys noticed
anything like that with Joe?

Yes, he comes downstairs
and he's like,

"Can I get an container
or something?

I feel like I'm gonna throw up."

Okay, living people here
would believe

that they're having
nightmares,

but it would be due to
these things influencing them.

When I talk to Joe,
he told me he has

constant nightmares about
a demon attacking him.

He's had these nightmares
for as long as he can remember.

These things also
manipulate the living

when they're awake.

I saw this little child,
and his personality

completely changes,
and it just gave me chills

seeing this vision
because it was like,

you knew, like, this wasn't
this kid anymore.

I mean, that's one of
our big things with Joe.

Sometimes I feel like
he's not there.

I don't want to use
the word "possessed,"

but it's the feeling
that I get.

I had a sketch done of what
I saw in the blue bedroom.

I- I gotta show it to you,
even though I don't wanna.

My God.

I don't know what to say.

What the hell are
these things?

I believe that they are
a type of demonic entity.

They're very bad.

Well, what about Joseph?
What do they want from him?

They want to possess him.

And I'm always afraid
of Joseph doing

something to hurt himself
or somebody else.

I also saw these things
in the room across the hall.

- Samantha's?
- Samantha's room.

They already had her,
like, from birth.

That's why the activity's
gotten worse.

My God.

- Is she possessed?
- Yeah.

My God.

There's one that's literally
inside her all the time.

So, Jen, you called us in

because you thought the kids
were in danger here.

And I don't know if it was
mother's intuition or what,

but based on what Amy's
told us, you are 100% right.

So now the big question is,

is there a way for you
to save your children,

or do you need to pack up
before someone

gets seriously hurt
and get the hell out of here?

For that answer,
I'm gonna turn it over to Amy.

So, we're going to start
with the dead man.

Talking about Rudolf,
the guy who sh*t himself?

Right.

So getting him
out of the house,

we're going to utilize
tar water.

The tar water forms
a long-lasting barrier

that prevents the dead
from entering your home.

You're also going to be
removing the dead lady.

You mean Rudolf's wife, Rosalia?
Yes.

This one, you're going
to need a medium for.

Someone who is Jewish,
who is also a medium,

who can come and talk to her

and specifically tell her
that she's gotta go.

She's gonna move on
real quick.

Now as far as the demons,

you do need
to set up an exorcism

to take place for Sam.

It could be very traumatic

and this could take
several meetings.

I'm already dreading
just the fact to have to

try to somehow
explain it to her,

let alone put her through it.

It's not like she necessarily
has to be told these things.

For all she knows,
he's just doing

- nice little prayers over her.
- Yeah.

So you're saying exorcism
for Sam.
Yes.

What about Joseph?

After Sam, then Joseph.

How do you think Joseph's
going to react to this?

I think he's gonna
feel vindicated

and embrace the fight
to get it taken care of.

Okay, once both of the children
have been taken care of,

then the entire house
has to be blessed

as well as the land.

And then every year,

you have to have the house
and the land blessed.

So the exorcism
and then blessing the house

will get rid
of the little demons?

Correct.

And so what about their mood
swings and personality changes?

Will those get better, too?

Once they're completely done
with absolutely everything,

yeah, it'll be good.

It's funny, when we talked,

you broke my heart actually,
listening to you.

All you wanted was
your kids to be safe

and to save your marriage.

Now she basically gave you
a map on how to do that.

So are you going to do
what Amy tells you to do?

Absolutely.

There's not a question
in my mind.

I can't thank you enough...

'cause it's gotta stop now.

It won't be easy
removing the dead

in Jen and Gary's home,

but with the help
of a medium and tar water,

they can be banished.

If they do that and get
Sam and Joe exercised,

this family will find the peace
they've been searching for.
